Chapter 877, Advancement Ceremony

Hearing the gentle laughter and seeing the two magnificent purple scimitars, Gu Hang forgot to eat.

He was instantly alert.

This symbolism was too obvious.

Why would the being representing lust suddenly attack?

In theory, Gomao Erge and this person were on the same level.

But their natures were quite different.

Gomao Erge was a pure racial god, his conceptual attributes almost nonexistent. This meant that they were virtually invincible—unless someone could exterminate the Greenskins in the real universe. If

the Cancer of the Universe were so easy to deal with, it wouldn’t be called that.

Even though Gu Hang had secured a crucial victory this time, dealing a heavy blow to the Greenskins, their annihilation was still a long way off.

They would simply lie dormant for decades, even centuries. Given enough time, given the Greenskins’ racial characteristics, they would eventually return.

In this light, what was the point of ‘destroying’ Gomao’s brother?

Besides helping himself.

But, did he have any connection with Slaanesh?

Not at all!

Gu Hang didn’t want one either.

Gu Hang didn’t want to have anything to do with any of the four great gods of the Warp.

After piercing and ‘destroying’ the two green-skinned gods with his scimitar, the gentle laughter didn’t fade, but continued to echo in Gu Hang’s ears.

Gu Hang had already been fully alert, even preparing for another fight.

However, a moment later, a flash of golden flames rose nearby.

The gentle laughter turned to screams, followed by vicious curses.

But at least the two exquisite scimitars had vanished.

It seemed unnecessary to say who had intervened to help.

Gu Hang, calming down, roughly guessed the purpose of Slaanesh’s action.

This person must have been watching for a long time.

There was indeed no point in destroying Gomao’s brother. They were indestructible.

But just as Gu Hang would benefit greatly from extracting the shattered corpse and slowly digesting it within his divine kingdom, the form that Gomao Erge had materialized to block Gu Hang’s door also contained some of their essential power.

Seizing both of these, Slaanesh might be able to reap some benefits.

In fact, this had been Gu Hang’s original plan.

He was waiting for himself to recover, and for Omgeria to complete its sweep of the remaining greenskins, weakening Gomao Erge to a certain degree. If they dared to continue blocking the door, he would annihilate them and see if he could profit further.

Instead, Slaanesh snatched it away.

Gu Hang expressed deep regret.

However, he soon saw a new source of joy.

In the boundless Warp, Gu Hang spotted a crimson wave from afar.

Slaanesh’s vicious curses echoed throughout the space,

echoing with waves of blood-red, rising higher and higher.

Clearly, there was someone who wasn’t happy with Slaanesh’s easy access to this advantage.

It was said that the tyrant and the lustful prince had a terrible relationship, even a mortal enemy. Their antagonism was more serious than anything else.

Gu Hang also faintly heard a treacherous laugh.

A powerful being, masterminding the universe of change, seemed to be plotting something again. The ignition of the massive conflict between Slaanesh and Tyrant was undoubtedly orchestrated by this Lord of Change.

The relationship between the Four Gods was complex. They were by no means monolithic; on the contrary, their antagonism was perhaps more profound than anything else.

Khorne, the murderous, tyrannical, yet honorable and competitive, stood in stark opposition to Slaanesh, the embodiment of lust, corruption, and perfection and pleasure. A

similarly irreconcilable opposition existed between the Father, the eternal and benevolent, and Tzeentch, the embodiment of change.

The chaotic battles between the Four Gods were the true daily life of countless daemons in the Warp. Their “Great Game” was a never-ending one.

Even if some consensus occasionally emerged, it was fragile and fraught with the selfish interests of each party.

If the Four Gods of the Warp could truly unite, it would spell doom for the others, and indeed, for the entire real universe.

Fortunately, that was a near impossibility.

But then again, if the four of them even briefly reached some fragile, fleeting consensus, the damage caused in that brief period would be immeasurable.

Take, for example, the scarlet scar currently tearing apart the human empire. Gu Hang suspected it was a manifestation of the Four Gods’ shared vision.

How terrifying!

Let them fight each other, intensify the ‘Great Game’, and the less time they have to deal with matters in the real universe, the better.

…

Three years later, the ‘Forward Ceremony’ was held on Ankachi VIII in the Omgeria Segmentum.

After three years of focused cleansing, this world, once led by the Ork King himself, has been thoroughly cleansed.

The greenskin ecosystem has been almost completely eradicated.

For worlds once completely occupied by greenskins, the Alliance has a comprehensive operational plan.

In addition to military operations, additional construction is also essential.

Agricultural areas have been established on Ankachi. The small number of immigrants owning large tracts of land are producing food on a large scale.

Meanwhile, multiple terraforming spires installed on the planet radiate energy, continuously repairing the planet’s climate.

Former battlefields are marked and memorials erected. A

war memorial stands on the former world of the Bonebreaker Throne.

This year also marks the first significant harvest on Ankachi VIII.

Honestly, while this grain output is considered average for an agricultural world, compared to the vast resources invested by the Alliance in Ankachi VII, even after deducting the ongoing military costs of clearing out the greenskins, the costs of terraforming the planet, repopulating it, and rebuilding production alone are far greater than the cost of simple agricultural output.

Even with a bountiful harvest, it would likely take decades of sustained success to recoup the investment.

Yet, the Alliance has made this enormous investment.

The primary reason is that, beyond the economic benefits, Ankachi VIII holds immense political significance.

Here, the Alliance achieved a crucial victory, and through it, they gained dominance over the entire Forward Universe.

And now, this “Forward Ceremony” is precisely to confirm this.

Almost every respectable figure in the entire Forward Universe had arrived.

Whether they were leaders, governors, heads of state, generals, marshals, sages, bishops, mercenary leaders, whitewashed pirates, or heads of imperial caravans… they were all gathered together, obediently awaiting the arrival of one person.

Gu Hang’s attendance at this grand ceremony was the primary reason for their presence.
