Chapter 874, Dismemberment

. The very beginning of the battle was the most difficult.

The four Chosen Champions had already carefully assessed Bonebreaker’s strength before the encounter.

Seeing him slay top Zerg units compelled them to take him seriously.

However, no matter how much they built up their expectations, it was nothing compared to the pressure they felt after the encounter.

It was like a nightmare!

Martins had never imagined a battle could be fought this way!

Let alone Bonebreaker’s overwhelming power, requiring every ounce of strength to resist a single blow.

Nor was his fleet-footed figure, massive and heavily armored, yet incredibly agile and elusive, making him incredibly difficult to hit.

His combat prowess alone was terrifying.

Axes, fists, kicks, and guns jutting from his armor… every weapon was ready to be unleashed, posing a deadly threat.

The angles and methods of attack were unpredictable.

Or perhaps even foreseeable, there was no escape, forcing him to forge ahead.

Even more terrifying was the so-called “space folding” attribute mentioned in the General Staff’s previous analysis of Bonebreaker’s combat capabilities. This man’s movements weren’t simply agile; they exhibited a physics-defying aura: inertia seemed to be completely absent. In a ferocious charge, he could mysteriously strike at right angles, instantly reversing his attack. His axe, raised one moment, was in his face the next, seemingly without a single swing in between.

After two encounters, Martins even suspected he’d lost his focus.

This form of combat was truly excruciating.

Within moments, Martins was sweating profusely.

Both times, he felt he’d barely escaped death.

The first time, he suffered a crushing defeat, his Terminator armor’s custom shield shattering instantly.

The second time, even with forewarning and a sword-throwing strike, he was still nearly blown away by the sheer force.

Fortunately, his comrades quickly intervened, distracting Bonebreaker’s attention. While a heavy particle beam pierced Martins’s armor, wounding him in the abdomen, Martins seized the opportunity with a furious sword strike, leaving a deep wound in his flesh.

However, his comrades’ help did not end so well.

The “Living Saint” Grit desperately came forward to distract Martins, saving him and even creating an opening for him to inflict effective damage.

However, the enraged Bonebreaker launched a frenzied barrage, targeting Grit.

Rizzo and Ewing rushed to relieve the pressure, but Bonebreaker showed no concern. Even after being bitten by the Bite Shark sword, leaving a deep bloody wound, and being dented by the Emperor’s Scepter, he remained undeterred, determined to attack Grit.

But even more astonishing was the Living Saint’s ferocious fighting, seemingly unfazed by the vast disparity in power between them, as she fiercely engaged Bonebreaker.

Three wounds were inflicted by the Holy Golden Halberd in her hand at this very moment.

This also demonstrated Grit’s immense strength, empowered by divine power—withstanding Bonebreaker’s axe, the mech’s attached guns, her immense strength, her cunning skills, and the incredible manipulation of space, she was still able to injure Bonebreaker.

Her pristine white wings, brimming with lightning, enabled Grit to move with remarkable agility, allowing her to find threatening angles in midair and launch attacks that were more difficult for the enemy to defend against.

The lightning from her whirring wings would paralyze even Bonebreaker for a moment.

The Holy Golden Halberd, coated in golden lightning, was remarkably effective at every strike.

However, all this came at a heavy price.

Furious, Bonebreaker roared, his axe slashing at Grit again and again. He unleashed every skill he possessed.

In all seriousness, Grit was far more severely injured than Bonebreaker.

The spatial folding caused the axe to strike with such suddenness that even the divinely blessed Valkyrie Terminator armor could not withstand it. The axe also split, transforming into several circular saws, whirling and sawing through Grit’s wings, stronger than steel, causing feathers to fly.

The most terrifying moment came when Grit inflicted a third wound on Bonebreaker’s body, then Bonebreaker launched a ferocious counterattack.

The axe struck directly at Grit’s right shoulder.

It was a full-force blow.

Grit dodged, but could not avoid it. She blocked with her wings, but her right wing was shattered. Then, the axe continued its momentum, striking her shoulder armor fiercely.

Like most human armor, the shoulder defenses of Valkyrie armor are almost always the strongest part. Not to mention, Grit’s armor was imbued with divine power, providing even greater defense.

However, even the strongest part of the armor couldn’t withstand Bonebreaker’s blow.

He had severed Grit’s entire right shoulder, along with her right wing, half her right shoulder blade, a fifth of her ribcage, and her entire right arm!

The massive wound was a sight of horrific pain!

Despite the excruciating pain, Grit managed to suppress a scream.

But even if she managed to suppress a cry, the wound was mortal.

Even if Grit didn’t die immediately, without her wings and still in mid-air, she inevitably fell sideways. With her arm severed and her weapon dropped, counterattack was impossible.

Bonebreaker, however, seemed poised to pursue.

The three Space Marine God-chosen Champions nearby also raced to save their comrades.

No matter how much they secretly resented Grit’s reckless actions, they had to rescue her now.

Otherwise, with Grit’s ferocious presence drawing the Bone Crusher’s attention, their battle was already difficult, let alone after she was slain.

With only three of them left, they wouldn’t know how to face the Bone Crusher’s attacks, and the pressure on everyone would intensify.

Even if they could save Grit’s life, her current state would likely be no different from death…

But unfortunately, they failed to save Grit.

The Bone Crusher’s murderous intent was far stronger than they had imagined.

He ignored the attacks of the three, determined to kill Grit.

Multiple wounds appeared on his back and arms.

The most dangerous strike came from Ewing—Gnaw Shark attempted to strike the orc king in the back of the neck.

Seizing this opportunity, Ewing even wondered if he could decapitate him with a single strike, ending the battle once and for all.

Grit was reckless, and so was Bonebreaker.

However, Bonebreaker’s recklessness was based on his immense combat power.

He could ignore damage he could tolerate in order to slay the strongest enemy, but he also had the means to counter such dangerous damage.

Two vents suddenly opened from the back of his armor, belching out a thick, green, liquid flame.

The exposed back of his neck became a trap.

Ewing had to forfeit this golden opportunity.

He wasn’t without courage; if he could have traded his own life for Broken Bones’, he would have done so.

However, he judged that even if he bravely carried out the blow, Broken Bones wouldn’t be killed. He, in turn, would surely perish under the gushing, liquid green fire.

Despite his decisiveness, he was too close, and ultimately, the flames spurted out. His shield burned through quickly, and the remaining fragments stained half of his helmet, burning deep inside like a cancer.

Ewing fell to the ground, not even having time to get up. His first action was to quickly remove his helmet and discard it.

Looking up, he saw Grit’s beautiful head soaring.

She had been decapitated.

But even that wasn’t enough for Broken Bones. The battle axe split into multiple circular saws, completely dismembering the living saint in just two seconds!

Meanwhile, Martins and Rizzo had just dodged the green flames and were about to re-engage, only to be swept back by a sweeping blow from Bonebreaker, forcing them both back.

They retreated to Ewing, who had just stood up. Their expressions   shared a solemn expression. “

Now… what?” This was what Bonebreaker was trying to convey, turning around and grinning at them.   ”Those little bastards… are very strong.”   But that’s all.   He raised his axe and, with deliberate slow yet heavy steps, stomped the ground one by one as he approached the three.   Each footfall felt like a stomp on the hearts of the three Chosen Champions.   But this wasn’t a battle for Martins and the other three.   At this moment, two fully charged plasma blasts blazed from behind Bonebreaker.   Just as Bonebreaker held an advantage over the four Chosen Champions, the Space Marines Chapter Champions also held a crushing advantage over Bonebreaker’s Warlords.   This was primarily due to their numerical superiority.   The average Ork Warlord’s combat power was perhaps comparable to that of the Chapter Champion, or even slightly greater. But each of them faced an average of three to five Chapter Champions.   The outcome was clear.   With one Ork Warlord already dead, the freed Chapter Champions began to reinforce the battle.   However, a Waagh field materialized, blocking two beams of light. Bonebreaker raised his left hand and fired back with his massive revolver.   Three shots blasted through the upper torso of a Chapter Champion, but he didn’t even turn his head, still glaring at Martins and the other two with a sly grin, his pace unwavering.   The massive revolver automatically reloaded, preparing to strike the second Champion.   But then, a powerful psychic shockwave struck from the side.   The Waagh field reappeared, but this time it was unable to fully block it.   Bonebreaker was thrown back, staggering.   Meanwhile, psychic energy seized the opportunity, coalescing into a ten-meter-long greatsword of light, which slashed down upon him.   Bonebreaker stepped back, blocking the psychic shockwave, and raised his axe with both hands, engaging the greatsword with a decisive blow, shattering it.   An A-rank psyker’s eyes blew out, and he collapsed in despair.   This was the price.   Yet, there were well over a hundred A-rank psykers participating in the battle!   The Stormcasters’ elite gathered here, led by six S-rank psykers. From the very beginning of the battle, they isolated Bonebreaker’s two Grand Shamans.   By then, the two Grand Shamans had been shattered, reduced to headless corpses by the influx of psychic energy.   The freed psykers, led by the six S-rank psykers, combined their strength. They were a force as strong as, or even stronger than, the Chosen Champion—at least until Bonebreaker’s counterattacks had taken out half the psykers.   Meanwhile, more Chapter Champions had already dispatched their opponents and began a fearless assault on Bonebreaker.   The more conservative ones bombarded Bonebreaker from a distance with bolters, melta-throwers, plasma weapons, and individual missiles; the more aggressive ones drew their melee weapons and closed in.   Martins, Ewing, and Rizzo gave up waiting.   At this point, the only option was to fight to the death!   They were the only three who could stand against Bonebreaker head-on.   They shifted their strategy, shifting from a head-on attack to a more containment-based strategy.   Furthermore, after their previous encounters, they were familiar with Bonebreaker’s abilities, making their approach more secure.   With the assistance of numerous Chapter Champions and psykers, the battle stabilized for a time.   While occasionally, an A-rank psyker would be slain in the fierce confrontation, there were also Chapter Champions who, caught off guard, were easily defeated by Bonebreaker’s counterattacks, either with their axes or with their cannonballs.   Likewise, as the battle progressed, Bonebreaker continued to incur new wounds.   His armor was even on the verge of failure.   Without his super-heavy armor, he wasn’t completely depleted of combat power. But he couldn’t completely ignore his physical resources; his combat prowess was inevitably compromised.   At this moment, Broken Bone was completely consumed by a frenzy. This battle had truly given him a thrilling and exhilarating fight!   He relished the thrill of battling the strongest opponents, and even more so, the warmth of blood spurting out as he decapitated and tore their bodies apart.   Fight, fight, fight!   The more his wounds intensified, the less effective his fighting power, but his aura steadily grew, steadily increasing.   Meanwhile, the humans, driven by dedication and sacrifice, remained resilient.   The outcome remained uncertain.   And in this raging core battlefield, a faint chant could be heard.   Dozens of battle sisters, equipped with jetpacks and small lightning wings, floated in the sky at an altitude of about twenty meters.   The chant emanated from their mouths.   At first, no one paid any attention. Their minds were completely absorbed in the desperate struggle, so who had the time to listen?   But as the chant grew from ethereal to solid, it seemed as if a presence, like the song itself, was emerging from nothingness into reality.   By the end, the hymns were too loud to be ignored.   A magnificent light, amidst the nuns, formed a portal to heaven. Arcs   of golden lightning adorned the doorframe, and a winged angel emerged from the portal.

The living saint who was killed by broken bones and even dismembered has been resurrected!
