Chapter 974, Falling Like a Meteor

, startled not only the demon prince but also Gu Jing, who was hastily rushing to the battlefield.

Gu Jing could even guess what Magnus was thinking.

To others, it was just a Son of God, wielding a creature like the Emperor’s Sword, wielding something resembling “sword energy.” While surprising, it was actually quite normal—wasn’t it simply a declaration of the Emperor’s blessing on his loyal son?

But that was a recognition born of religious reverence. The more profound one’s psychic knowledge, the more they realize that nothing in the world is arbitrary. Under normal circumstances, even a combination of the Son of God and the Emperor’s Sword wouldn’t be able to wield such a sword.

Robert’s Warp Essence had nothing to do with psychic powers, and since it hadn’t awakened, it wouldn’t have produced such an effect.

Could it be that part of his Warp Essence had awakened?

Or was it truly the Emperor’s supreme power, penetrating the barriers of the divine kingdom and aiding Robert in some unnoticeable way?

It was incomprehensible, and that was why even the most learned were so astonished.

Beyond their shock, Gu Jing and Magnus had completely different perspectives.

Magnus was furious at his injury, terrified by the possibility that his father, whom he hated and absolutely did not want to meet, had aided him.

But Gu Jing, on the other hand, was simply overjoyed.

The moment the battle broke out, realizing something serious was afoot, he rushed to the surface at full speed.

He had to offer Robert some assistance.

Up until then, he had stayed away from the battle, serving as an advisor aboard the ship, acting as a sort of chief of staff, helping Robert develop battle plans and manage logistics. While this was certainly a slight waste of his immense psychic abilities, it also allowed him to utilize his strengths in a different direction.

If possible, Gu Jing would have happily stayed out of the fight.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible.

If it had been another ‘divine evil’, perhaps things would have been better. However, Magnus was different. Counting all the other God-Devils—no, even counting all the God-Great Demons, Great Demons, and Demon Princes—he was arguably one of the most exceptional psionic masters.

Possessed with astonishing wisdom, he was already a formidable master of psychic powers before his fall. Not only was he a swift learner of various psychic techniques and control methods, but he could also draw inferences from one instance, deriving his own path and achieving groundbreaking feats.

After his fall, he ascended to demonic form. After ten thousand years of immersion in the Warp, the source of psychic power, and receiving the blessing of Tzeentch, he would likely become far more powerful than before.

Other “God-Devils” were similar—except for Magnus’s exclusive mastery of psychic power.

And it was this very quality, in Gu Jing’s opinion, that proved fatal to Robert.

Magnus was a nearly unbeatable foe for Robert.

Even if the “God’s Evil” and the “Son of God” were indeed on the same level, Robert, a Son of God whose greatest strengths were in strategy, economic policy, and military command, would likely have a low chance of success against Magnus.

If it were any other “God’s Evil,” Robert would have made some impressive achievements as a warrior. His swordsmanship and experience as a warrior were considerable. While not top-tier, with the aid of the Emperor’s Sword, he could certainly hold his own.

However, against Magnus… Gu Jing was genuinely worried that Robert wouldn’t even be able to get close.

This was indeed the case, until the appearance of the flaming blade, capable of long-range release and piercing psychic shields.

Magnus was visibly frightened and became somewhat hesitant.

There were both positives and negatives.

Robert’s oppression was noticeably less intense, but Magnus, no longer advancing and even cautiously retreating, was no longer easily threatened.

He was also wary of the flaming sword energy. Furthermore, Robert’s rage didn’t always produce the desired effect; this move had a certain element of chance…

Overall, Robert was still no match for Magnus.

But at least he held out until Gu Jing arrived.

Gu Jing was like a meteor falling from the sky, bombarded by anti-aircraft fire, but to no avail.

Even when Magnus half-raised his head and blasted a psychic beam into the sky, it couldn’t stop the meteor from falling. The

‘meteor’ slammed into the ground, releasing a powerful energy that knocked over demons. A film of light enveloped the now-small number of Infinity Warriors, protecting them from harm.

Countless demons were expelled back into the Warp by this impact!

The biggest boost to the situation was that with this single blow, half of the Warp rifts were closed!

This immediately transformed the situation dramatically: First, a massive gap opened up in the previously cleared battlefield, allowing the previously trapped human forces to quickly advance and provide support.

The Infinite Warriors, whose numbers had been steadily declining during the battle, received valuable support, pulling them back from the brink of destruction. They also provided Robert with strong support—at least now, Robert no longer had to waste energy dealing with minor foes, freeing him to focus on combating the Chaos sorcery Magnus had inflicted upon him.

Another factor was that the number of daemons pouring out was significantly reduced.

From that point on, Magnus’s effortless attempt to open more Warp rifts would no longer be so easy. This was

because Gu Jing had arrived.

Honestly, in a battle of this magnitude, facing an opponent like Magnus, Gu Jing, while not completely absent from the fight, would likely have been a mere bystander.

Although he himself is a top-level psyker, he is just a psyker.

Although he has a Tzeentchian Daemon captured by his father, who made him a combat assistant and gave him amplified power,

but that’s all.

Can the strength of a Tzeentchian Daemon plus a psyker at most Alpha level be used to fight against the “God’s Evil”?

Quite difficult.

But after Comoros was captured, his father got a fragment of the so-called Eldar god from somewhere.

This is powerful.

With the addition of this fragment, representing the power of “Despair”, his individual strength has also crossed a certain threshold and reached the level of God’s Evil and Son of God!

Now, he is not only qualified to participate in battles at this level, but can even have a key impact on the outcome of the battle!
