Chapter 957, Last Chance

. Victor silently stroked the gray sword in his hand.

Now, in full armor, he was making final preparations for battle.

Behind him, a vast Dark Eldar army stood ready, silent and attentive.

They awaited only the command, and they would march forth in full force.

This was the most elite force the Dark Eldar had been able to muster in a short period of time.

It could even be said that this was the heart of the Dark Eldars’ strength.

But it wasn’t their full strength.

They couldn’t muster it.

As the humans had judged, the Dark Eldar were completely unconvinced, and their request for peace was merely a way to gather strength for the next phase of the war.

However, even before that, there were considerable doubts within the Dark Eldar community about the peace talks.

While peace talks would certainly give their side ample time to prepare, they would also give the humans considerable time to prepare.

Both sides would benefit.

And it was hard to say who would benefit most.

The two ports occupied by the Alliance will be fully committed to transporting troops to the Comoros without any scruples. While the eight concession ports are supposedly forbidding any military transport to the Comoros, the Alliance’s constant subterfuge and the lack of measures to stop or punish humanity have rendered these regulations and restrictions virtually meaningless.

Under these circumstances, by the time the Dark Eldar are ready for war, the human side might be even more formidable than before.

These concerns are undoubtedly justified.

However, Victor once again defied the opposition.

However, this time, the situation will not be as easy as before.

He was once the supremely prestigious King of the Comoros. But now, after numerous defeats, his prestige has, if not shaky, been severely damaged. Although everyone still appears to be intimidated by him, Victor can already sense the precariousness of the situation.

However, his subsequent strategy is quite clever.

Peace talks are not without support.

First, he will win over the supporters, openly suppressing the hawks;

secretly, he will reveal his core plan.

His plan won the favor of those opposed to the peace talks.

The remaining opponents were his personal opponents and challengers to his authority. Facing these individuals, he revealed his ruthless and brutal side. His efficient internal purges brought a sense of calm to the atmosphere within Comoros, temporarily strengthening his authority.

All of this enabled him to successfully advance his plan.

The plan was to use the peace talks as a pretext to quickly coax the Terran Expeditionary Force out, and once they were completely gone, to blow up the Veil Gate near Holy Terra.

The last remaining Terran Expeditionary Force ships that hadn’t completed their journey would be completely lost.

Of course, this was merely a convenient move, and the damage to humanity would be minimal, only about one percent of the Terran Expeditionary Force’s fleet, far from a serious loss.

The primary purpose was to prevent further human reinforcements from entering Comoros from Holy Terra.

After this, Victor would personally lead the Eldar forces in a fierce assault on humanity.

In the peace treaty, the Dark Eldar had ceded significant benefits. But in reality, if one is intent on tearing up the treaty, then as long as the terms written in black and white are not fulfilled, there is no loss.

Looking only at the fulfilled portions, humanity secured eight concession ports, but at best could only transport troops covertly, and not much.

The area captured by humanity went from being fist-like at first to being a thin network connecting the eight concession ports, which clearly facilitated the Dark Eldar’s attack.

Crucially, at this point in time, humanity’s power in Comoros was at its weakest.

For six or seven days, humanity was unable to send reinforcements to Comoros, and instead withdrew the entire Terran Expeditionary Force.

The military strength plummeted by one-third.

However, from this point forward, Humanity’s influence in Comoros would steadily grow stronger.

This growth curve had no upper limit.

And despite having more time to prepare, the Comorians would unleash even greater power. However, according to Viktor’s calculations, this initial surge was only the largest. Due to the limited size and potential of the Dark Eldar forces, they would soon fall into a period of weakness, struggling to exploit their war potential, and be surpassed even more rapidly.

This was the most alarming and despairing moment.

Was this the end of their chance?

Not at all.

Viktor saw this moment as a more favorable one than the original plan of desperately preparing for war under the guise of peace talks.

While he wasn’t the strongest, seizing Humanity’s weakest moment presented him with a golden opportunity.

Viktor saw this as the last chance to reverse the situation and save the entire race.

He must give it his all.

He brought with him the race’s finest troops, its most advanced technology, and its most powerful fighting force—himself.

The divine sword in his hand had not been unsheathed for many, many years. The

‘Komo Excalibur’ was truly a clan treasure.

Komo was once the name of a deity within the Eldar Empire, one facet of the Many-Faced God.

And Gron, now, was this very sword.

Within it lay the despair and rage lingering from the Eldar’s demise.

When this rage was unsheathed, Viktor dared to fight even a true god.

Even if the price of wielding this divine sword was high, it was now unavoidable.

Viktor stopped caressing the blade as a message arrived.

At a single command, the entire army launched.

The

battle erupted suddenly, catching both the Eldar and the humans off guard.

Viktor had not expected that the humans, who had clearly had the advantage of a prolonged battle, would, like him, choose the moment the Terran Expeditionary Force departed to launch their fierce attack!

This drastically altered the Eldar’s entire offensive plan from the outset!

Of course, the humans hadn’t anticipated the Darkskins’ initiative at this time, leaving them without a plan to counter a surprise attack. Just as the Dark Eldar had planned, the entire Human defense was shattered. Six of the eight concession ports fell suddenly.

However, the Human offensive also had a significant impact. Many Dark Eldar forces were unable to reach the front lines as planned, caught off guard by the Human forces that had suddenly penetrated deep into Comoros, forcing them into a fierce battle. With the

arrow shot, there was no turning back. Victor, bearing the Sword of Comoros and leading his most elite force, resolutely advanced towards the Queen’s Rose Port.

He was determined to recapture the port, or at the very least, destroy it, thus cutting off the Humans’ route to reinforce Comoros.

He was willing to sacrifice anything for this.

Wielding the sword, he was absolutely confident he could slay any enemy who dared stand before him.

And when he actually saw Gu Hang flying in the air and felt the great power from the trembling of the Como Sword, he suddenly realized:

Is he really going to face a true god?
