Chapter 933, The Dark Elves’ Ambition

When the Daemons were slain by the Emperor’s Sword, their very Warp essence would be annihilated.

That would mean true extinction.

With this realization, the number of Daemons daring to cause trouble plummeted.

Of course, some still dared to seek the Expedition, or perhaps, inspired by higher-ranking Daemon Lords or even the Unholy Gods, they sought to locate the Expedition and intervene.

The arrival of Daemons not only triggered a battle but also intensified the hostility of the Warp, causing the fleet to lose its way.

Had it not been for a celestial guardian, they would have been completely lost.

Who was that guardian?

It was naturally the Emperor.

However, Gu Hang also provided some small assistance.

Logically, with this assistance, the Expedition would have eliminated the waves of Daemons that came their way, and their route would have been largely covert and undetectable, so they should have reached Holy Terra long ago.

Even if it takes a little longer than the 2-4 years it would take to reach the Warp, it would still take 6-8 years.

As for why it took so long?

All I can say is that under normal circumstances, it would have been.

However, another force erupted during this phase.

That was the Dark Eldar.

These disgusting creatures suddenly took action.

Eldar, whether white or black, would never enter the Warp easily. For them, that was a huge risk; if they weren’t careful, they’d be sucked away.

And anything that would make them take such a risk must be extremely important to them.

Gu Hang certainly knew why.

The prophecy known to every Eldar force, about a child of prophecy who would ultimately determine the future of the entire Eldar race, and the most important interpretations, were all within this fleet.

If the youngest evil god refers to Gu Hang, then it’s Gu Jing; if it refers to the Divine Emperor, then it’s Robert.

Even more precious is that, for a long time, Robert had been trapped within a stasis field, within the God’s Temple on the Super Sea Star, closely protected by the Infinite Chapter, one of the most powerful Chapters.

Gu Jing, meanwhile, was part of a powerful alliance, under Gu Hang’s watchful eye.

Any attempt to harm either of them would have been exceedingly difficult.

But now, this was a godsend!

Together, they were trapped in a desperate voyage

through the Warp. Not only were they unprotected, but they themselves were constantly threatened by daemons and the very nature of Warp travel

. While the Dark Eldar still retained some powerful and mysterious techniques from the glorious days of the Eldar Empire, and their individual strength was exceptional, their sparse population and the perpetual brink of extinction remained unresolved.

They were pirates, elusive throughout the universe, using the Eldar Webway. Their reliance on the Veiled City of Comoros, nestled between the real universe and the Warp, allowed them to maneuver freely. Combined with their formidable individual combat prowess and advanced technology, they possess an unparalleled advantage in small-scale combat, making them the most formidable pirates.

But… that’s their ceiling.

Why become pirates? Why not dominate the universe? Don’t you enjoy it?

Obviously not.

Strength is key.

On any human world, gaze up at the starry sky; every star you see is human territory!

The Ark Eldar have only their so-called “World Ark” as their home; the Dark Eldar have only their supposedly infinite Comoros as their home.

How can that compare to the human empire that truly owns the entire constellation?

Let alone humans, even the endlessly aggressive Greenskins, or the Void Zerg, intent on consuming the entire universe, are no match.

The Eldar possess only a glorious past.

Looking into the future, they see only darkness.

They are a race without a future.

Within the grand scheme of the vast universe, the Eldar have never been a major force.

They are merely scraps.

At least, in terms of overall strength, they are scraps. Compared to the major players—Humans, Chaos rebels, Four Gods followers, Green Orks, and Void Zerg—they cannot defeat any of them, and they simply cannot afford to engage in a direct battle.

But the Eldar themselves see it differently.

While they may not be able to fight direct battles, they can exert significant influence in key locations and events, guiding the course of the universe in the direction they desire.

They don’t need overwhelming overall strength or a full-scale war; they only need a single, exceptionally elite force and a few crucial technologies and methods to achieve their goals.

A prime example is the team led by the divine messenger, Mevnir, who resurrected Robert, the Son of God.

This was clearly an event with immense implications for the entire cosmic situation.

Now, the Dark Eldar are faced with a similar task.

They possess the same prophecy, but their interpretations differ.

Aiding the prophet and then expecting him to make a favorable decision on a future matter that will determine the fate of the Eldar?

That’s too passive.

The fate of an entire race rests on the whims of others?

Absolutely ridiculous!

Absolutely unacceptable!

Instead, the Dark Eldar prefer to maintain control within their own grasp.

Now, given the opportunity to “invite” both of them to Comoros, why not?

Comoros has long been prepared to welcome them.

However, even if the opponent isn’t the entire Human Empire, but merely the expeditionary force assembled by Robert—strictly speaking

, the Infinite Sector alone—the Dark Eldar still have no guarantee of victory in a head-on battle against this expeditionary force.

In the real universe, perhaps they could still have a fighting chance.

But in the Warp? Forget it.

The Warp is dangerous for human fleets, and even more so for the Eldar.

They waited patiently.

They were making preparations. A Dark Elf army was about to enter the Warp to fight. In order to avoid being targeted by their archenemy, Slaanesh, they had to make a lot of preparations.

While making preparations, they were also waiting for the expeditionary force or those troublesome Warp Daemons to show signs of fatigue and flaws, so that they could easily strike a fatal blow.

There was always an opportunity, and they waited for it.

No one realized that the Dark Elves would strike at such a critical moment.

They even succeeded in one fell swoop!
