Chapter 931, Ominous Ark

When the Disaster Fleet was completely surrounded, their fate was already sealed.

To be honest, the Disaster Fleet was still powerful. Their overall number was not much less than that of the Alliance warships. Among the more than 800 Chaos warships, they were not just for show. There were quite a few giant ships such as battleships, aircraft carriers, and heavy cruisers, and the number and combat power of the accompanying frigates and cruisers were also sufficient.

Not to mention, among them there was also the Omen Ark.

This thing was even bigger than the Glorious Queen-class battleship!

Its shape was also very strange and twisted. The whole thing looked like many giant ships that were roughly spliced together. A pile of steel creations, blended together, actually had a bit of a distorted feeling of flesh and blood.

In fact, it was indeed made in this way.

Under Bassall’s might, wrecked ships lost in the Warp for countless millennia were hauled out and, through twisted technology, combined and powered by daemon engines, formed into the present-day Omen Ark. Because of

this, each Omen Ark is unique and distinct,

yet all equally powerful .

However, in this universe, bigger isn’t always better for warships.

The Omen Ark is enormous and fast, though somewhat less agile. This is unavoidable, but entirely acceptable. This trade-off in agility is fully worthwhile in exchange for its massive size, robust armor, formidable firepower, and strategic role as a supercarrier.

Generally speaking, besides serving as the command flagship for the entire Scourge Fleet, the Omen Ark primarily serves as a core fortress and hub in actual combat. Its immense size allows it to function as a massive space carrier. Countless aircraft, ships of all kinds, and Daemon Engines could swarm from the Omen Ark, delivered directly into the enemy’s path for a direct assault.

It could even transport a vast Chaos army, its abundant strength seemingly housing an entire Chaos world.

However, even an enemy attempting to attack such an Omen Ark would face considerable difficulty. Setting aside the fleets protecting it, the Omen Ark’s inherent structural strength is immense. Destroying a few of its components, or even the wrecks of its components, would not be enough to destroy it. Its powerful Void Shields present an insurmountable barrier to its adversaries.

Not only is its protection formidable, but its firepower is also immense. Forgoing other weaponry, even three or five battleships, relying solely on their naval guns, would be no match for it.

And attempting a boarding attack would be unrealistic.

The Omen Ark, constructed from a mashup of numerous space hulks, possesses an incredibly complex internal structure. Even the Ark’s owner, the Chaos Navy, might not fully grasp its structure and would be lost if they didn’t stay within familiar territory, let alone an attacker.

In terms of pure combat power, it’s on par with the Glorious Queen-class battleship, though their strengths differ. The Glorious Queen excels in mobility and firepower, while its protection and hull strength are somewhat inferior.

However, their offensive methods differ drastically. The Omen Ark’s core combat function remains as a space carrier, launching aircraft and warships into combat. While its inherent combat capabilities are not bad, it’s primarily focused on self-defense, lacking in purely offensive capabilities.

The Glorious Queen, on the other hand, is a pure sword!

Of course, if this were the only difference, it would simply be a matter of combat methods, making it difficult to determine which ship has the upper hand or the lower hand.

Looking at the entire Disaster Fleet as a whole, compared with the main fleet of the Southern Front, from quantity to fleet quality to flagship combat power, they are almost the same.

If a fight truly broke out, it would be a grueling battle of spaceships, with both sides poised for a decisive, earth-shattering showdown to determine the victor. And even if one side emerged victorious, it would likely be a pyrrhic victory.

But in reality,

the battle was almost completely one-sided!

The human fleet held a commanding advantage!

The biggest gap between the two sides in the current battle lay in command, tactics, and strategy.

The leader of the Scourge Fleet had been captured, and many of the other leaders were on the surface. To prevent rebellion, Zakaria prohibited any replacements from remaining on the flagship while he was away. While this prevented rebellion, it also completely disabled the entire fleet’s command, with Zakaria’s capture and the leader unable to return.

The Scourge Fleet’s operations were dysfunctional, with each ship operating almost independently and coordination extremely poor.

Overall, this was a significant disadvantage for them.

Although the human ships attacking from both sides of Papalil’s orbit were few in number, only about two or three hundred, the Glorious Queen-class battleships, acting as their sharpest blade, still put immense pressure on them. Even if they tried to gain space and maneuver, they were blocked by the over seven hundred human warships attacking from behind, preventing them from escaping.

The completely disadvantaged Scourge Fleet suffered heavy losses from the outset of the engagement.

Their morale was low, and with escape difficult, some ships even decided to break free.

In such situations, the human fleet would often choose to let some ships go.

They would let go of less valuable escort vessels, especially those whose departure would cause further damage to the already battered Scourge Fleet formation. However,

if high-value ships attempted to escape, there was no way they could.

They would often be allowed to leave the formation by human ships first, and then, when they were left alone, they would be quickly surrounded and annihilated.

Even if the large number of disaster fleets that had been reduced in number later realized that if they continued like this, they would be doomed, and tried to put aside their internal differences and urgently elect a person in charge, it was already too late.

Their number and quality had been reduced to a very poor level, and it would be difficult to reverse the situation even if they fought desperately.

The final charge was carried out by the main position led by the Queen of Glory. They forcefully shoved the barrel of their gun into the face of the Omen Ark, which no longer had the protection of other ships, and destroyed it.

When the Omen Ark was destroyed, this huge naval battle over Papalil ended with the victory of mankind.
