Chapter 907: Subjugating the Blood Angels

. Dante had reason to be filled with mixed emotions.

What were they talking about? The fate of Holy Terra and the entire human empire, how to deploy a massive army across half the empire to the capital. They were discussing how two vast political entities could coordinate strategically, spanning nearly the entire empire…

and what was he doing?

He, the man known as a ‘legendary hero,’ was trapped in the star system of his home planet, where a single Zerg invasion had already brought him to a state of ecstasy.

The difference between the two was truly enormous.

He was still wondering if Gu Hang had used his psychic powers to trick him…

It felt like he was in the throes of the stars, while others were navigating the vast sea of galaxies.

But at this thought, he couldn’t help but wonder if it was all a scam.

Seeing Gu Hang’s gaze turn, Dante said in a complicated tone, “Your grand plan sounds unreal,”

with a hint of sarcasm.

Gu Hang bluntly replied, “Do you think all this is fake, a scam?”

Dante was caught off guard, and then felt a little embarrassed and annoyed.

It was a shameful feeling, the darkness within him suddenly exposed.

In Dante’s fifteen hundred years, such experiences were rare.

Yet he quickly composed himself, maintaining a defiant demeanor: “I haven’t drawn such a conclusion, but this is simply too incredible, isn’t it?”

“Okay, I can explain two things to you, just two.”

Gu Hang raised a finger. “First, deception wouldn’t involve something so outrageous and easily verifiable. You’ll soon learn from various sources whether the Son of God’s resurrection is true or not.”

Dante remained silent at Gu Hang’s first explanation.

He could have anticipated this. However, he still found it somewhat surprising and unacceptable, though in his heart he had already largely believed it.

Gu Hang’s second point left him speechless. Gu

Hang raised a second finger: “Second, neither the Blood Angels nor you, a hero of the Empire, are worth deceiving.”

…

Dante returned to his command post, somewhat dazed.

The men from the Crimson Blades had already departed, leaving only his closest battle-brothers.

Seeing the Chapter Master’s state, everyone was concerned.

They worried about his mental state and his health.

At the same time, they were also somewhat uneasy.

The battle prowess displayed by the arriving Alliance was astonishing. Their vast military might and the strength of their elite forces far exceeded the Blood Angels’ expectations. They were already exhausted and on the verge of defeat when the Alliance arrived and crushed the Zerg swarm with overwhelming force.

Although the Zerg had already been exhausted from their previous battles with them, they were still a formidable force, yet they were destroyed in such a short time.

Conversely, the Blood Angels and their Successors were already on the verge of being annihilated by the remnants of the Zerg, making them no match for the Alliance.

Wouldn’t the gap between the Blood Angels’ current strength and the Alliance’s bet become even greater?

Furthermore, there was no need to be unconvinced, thinking that the Alliance’s current strength was simply taking advantage of their predicament. Even at their peak, the Blood Angels’ twenty-one thousand Space Marines were slightly fewer than the Alliance’s Southern Front. Furthermore, the Southern Front was vastly superior in terms of conventional ground forces, naval fleet size, and logistics. Had the

Alliance’s Southern Expeditionary Force been pitted against the Hive Army that nearly destroyed their homeworld, the Alliance would undoubtedly have emerged victorious.

And this wasn’t even the Southern Expeditionary Force’s full strength; at least a small portion of that force was operating in the surrounding space as detachments. This also wasn’t even the Alliance’s full strength. By comparison, the Eastern Expeditionary Force was no less capable than the Southern Front, and the Western Front was the Alliance’s most important area of strength. Furthermore, the Alliance’s home front still held ample strength…

This contrast put the Blood Angels under pressure, as if they were facing the Imperial Center.

Faced with the overwhelming might of the Alliance, their own weakness, and with Dante near death, practically beyond saving, their Chapter Master required the Alliance’s specialized technology to be rescued…

In short, a multitude of factors combined to force the Blood Angels to surrender the Hades Star Region, which they had defended without resistance for years, despite suffering eight or nine out of ten casualties.

This was precisely why Gu Hang had told Dante, “You are not worth being deceived.”

This was the very reason.

What was so worthy of deception about the Blood Angels?

Dante himself couldn’t imagine it.

The territory he defended was now systematically under the Alliance’s control; the mortal soldiers who had fought for it had been incorporated and screened. Those of good quality or who were willing were integrated into the Alliance Army. The vast majority, who were less qualified or unwilling to serve, were given a small salary and a commemorative medal for the Defense of Hades Star Region, allowing them to retire and return to civilian life, which was enough to inspire them.

When determining Alliance ranks after fighting, they won’t be too low; they’re guaranteed based on rank. Furthermore, Alliance medals and commemorative awards aren’t just honors. Alliance honor is valuable, with stipends directly proportional to the honor rank itself. Unless the honor is stripped for criminal reasons or other reasons, these stipends last a lifetime. These soldiers,

receiving the stipend and promising a better future, are expected to return to battle?

Dream on.

These soldiers fought bravely because the Hive invaded their homeland. The Blood Angels led them through the resistance, and they are grateful and convinced. But the Alliance also saved them at the last moment. Furthermore, the Alliance promised to rebuild their homeland and provide them with a better life. The Alliance also has the legitimacy of the Dark Side Crusade, the Imperial High Lords, and the Dark Side Archons. With all this added up, how could the Blood Angels mobilize mortal forces to oppose the Alliance?

Impossible.

This applies not only to mortal soldiers, but also to their successor chapters.

Before the Alliance arrived, each of the succubus had prepared to die alongside their mother planet. With the Alliance’s arrival, they were saved, and at the same time, their obligations to their mother planet were fulfilled.

The mother planet hadn’t fallen into the hands of the xenos, and hadn’t been devoured by the Zerg into a dead world. Wasn’t that enough?

The Blood Angels were able to gather so many succubus, not only because of their mother planet’s appeal, but also because of their natural duty to protect their mother planet.

Now that this responsibility has ended, the Mother Chapter’s influence alone is insufficient to maintain so many Chapters together.

If this continues, what will the Mother Chapter do? Rebuild the Legions? Violate the Space Marine Codex?

That wouldn’t do.

Not to mention that some of the successor chapters have mediocre or even conflicting relations with the parent chapter. Even those with good relations have internal grumblings.

Each chapter should return to its own fold, slowly licking its wounds and recovering from the heavy losses suffered in this battle. It’s hard to say how many years this will take. Many chapters have been reduced to only a single company, or even less than a full company. It’s very likely that they’ll never recover and perish completely over the long years.

Sacrificing all this for the mother planet is fine.

But inexplicably going against the Alliance for the sake of the parent chapter? That’s not acceptable.

Furthermore, the Alliance has offered them many tempting offers along the way.

Dante may be unconscious, but not all the other Chapter Masters or those in charge are. Throughout this process, many Blood Angels successor chapters have reached numerous agreements with the Alliance.

The Alliance’s performance throughout the Dark Side Crusade is truly captivating. They had pacified over a hundred thousand worlds, encompassing 40% of the Imperium’s Dark Side territory. This achievement was already incredibly glorious, but it was only the beginning. The Alliance’s Dark Side Crusade would continue, aiming to reclaim the entire Imperium’s Dark Side. Meanwhile, the Alliance’s Western Expeditionary Force had crossed the Crimson Scar and reached the Imperial Holy Front, aiming to support Holy Terra!

For the glory-hungry Space Marines, who prided themselves on being the most loyal to the Emperor and the Imperium, how much did this allure them?

More than anything else!

If each Chapter wasn’t already devastated, they would have long clamored to join the Alliance fleets on this expedition, to claim glory, to save the Imperium, and to pledge their loyalty to the Emperor.

What? The Alliance had a comprehensive system of Space Marine management methods that could help Chapters recover from the brink of extinction?

Half the Chapters immediately accepted.

Of the remaining half of the Chapters, more than half, after careful consideration and after seeing that the so-called New Blood Training Center could recruit from their home planets and train them according to Chapter culture, agreed.

As for the most concerning issue of Primaris transformation, there was a solution.

First, Primaris transformation had already been first applied to their esteemed legendary Imperial hero, Dante, Chapter Master of the Blood Angels.

Second, Primaris transformation, endorsed by the Son of God, was a technology developed by the Archmagos Cawl of Mars and already being used among Infinite Warriors in the Infinite Segmentum. There were no adverse effects and it provided comprehensive enhancements.

Finally, regarding the question of whether a Chapter’s new blood should undergo Primaris transformation, while the Alliance strongly recommended it, if the original Chapter truly preferred not to, it could proceed without the transformation and simply use the old seed.

These three points should greatly alleviate the concerns of many Chapters.

Of course, some Chapters remained particularly skeptical or awaited a decision from the parent Chapter.

However, this did not affect the overall situation.

Even within the Blood Angels, a strong voice has emerged advocating for them to join the Alliance’s Dark Side Crusade.

Accepting the jurisdiction of the Space Marines’ Governing Council

is a bit of a challenge.

We are a founding Chapter, politically revered and always independent. Why do we now have an additional governing council over us?

However, upon hearing that the Saints, also a founding Chapter, in far better shape than they are, unlike the Blood Angels, whose battles have been decimated and their homeworld shattered, have also joined the governing council, their resistance has been somewhat diminished.

Of course, Dante’s reputation within the Blood Angels remains immense.

His decision is crucial. If he says no, if he refuses to join the Alliance, the Blood Angels will firmly side with their Chapter Master. Nothing can change this unless the Emperor or the Gene-Father returns.

However, before Dante makes his decision, everyone has the right to freely express their opinions.

After being “forced” to undergo the Primaris surgery and survive, Dante, still recovering, dragged his body through the healing process to meet with his fellow battle-brothers who had survived the brutal battle. After thoroughly listening to their opinions, he finally made a decision.

Perhaps, this decision was his own.

After listening to Gu Hang and Robert’s conversation, he had already formed a skewed opinion.

…

Gu Hang wasn’t completely uninterested in the Blood Angels, as he’d told Dante.

He did have some.

However, Dante couldn’t access the system dashboard or the Chapter interface. Therefore, no matter how wise he was, he couldn’t make a correct guess.

But whether or not he made a correct guess didn’t matter; the only thing that mattered was making the right decision.

The Blood Angels joining the Alliance and becoming members of the Space Marines’ Management Association was the right decision,

both for the Blood Angels themselves and for all of humanity.

Gu Hang’s Legion interface revealed the Blood Angels Legion option again.

Fifty thousand spots secured.

Five thousand spots for the Honor Guard, too. The Blood Angels’ Honor Guard, known as the Holy Blood Guard.

Gu Hang was very satisfied with this.

Later, the Blood Angels will recover their combat effectiveness quickly and visibly.

There are a total of twenty-one Blood Angel sub-groups that have surrendered. After Gu Hang replenishes their soldiers, and subtracts the Blood Angel seed quotas that have been used before, such as the Crimson Scythe Blades, then another twenty-three regiments can be established.

The number of Holy Blood Guards can still support five super-elite regiments.

After reaching 50,000, they can still carry out regular operations on this basis and make breakthroughs in the future.

However, the Saints should be easier to operate, after all, their gene seeds have a high adaptability. The

Blood Angels are not so easy to operate. At the peak of the Legion era, their number was estimated to be less than 100,000, and their gene adaptability was relatively low. But with the help of Gu Hang in screening new recruits, as long as the seeds are born quickly, it will always be better than before.

In short, when the benefits brought by the Blood Angel Legion are digested by Gu Hang, the scale of Space Marines directly controlled by the Alliance will be able to reach nearly 200,000.
