Chapter 140 The Restless Elders

“I remember Mr. Jiang Li said he’d come reminisce after finding the Brahma Tower. But have you found the Brahma Tower?” Ming Zhong asked, taking advantage of the atmosphere at the dinner table. He’d peeked for a long time but couldn’t see the tower-shaped object.

“We did find it, but for various reasons, it refuses to show itself,” Jiang Li said with a smile. The Brahma Tower was actually right here, simply shrouded in a layer of space, making it difficult to discover with this world’s technology.

Since arriving in this world, the Brahma Tower had remained silent, nor had it clamored to establish a Buddhist kingdom. Its silence was somewhat unusual.

Jiang Li asked it via voice transmission, and the answer he received was both amusing and unsettling.

The Brahma Tower explained that it had discovered that basic necessities in this world were free, that people lived freely and freely, and that they didn’t pursue money or material things. Their spiritual world was so rich that it made it impossible for a Buddhist kingdom to establish itself.

In other words, it was difficult for any religion to gain a foothold in this world.

Unable to spread its religion, the Brahma Tower was unhappy, but it didn’t want to show its bad side to outsiders, so it hid itself.

“Now that the Brahma Tower has been found, a permanent passageway can be established between our two worlds. What are President Ming Zhong’s thoughts?”

“Is there such a good thing?”

Ming Zhong was certainly willing. The opportunity to establish a connection with such a powerful and friendly world was something he couldn’t have wished more.

However, he had his concerns. From their conversation, he learned that Jiuzhou wasn’t a monolithic entity, but rather a complex network of factions, large and small, among which there might be those harboring ill will towards their world.

These factions might consist of only one person at the Fusion Stage, a minor force for Jiang Li, but for Ming Zhong’s world, a formidable force.

Noticing Ming Zhong’s hesitation, Jiang Li smiled and said, “My plan is to establish the entrance to the passageway within the Dao Sect. Any force from Jiuzhou traveling to your world will have to be vetted by the Dao Sect, and they will be responsible for your safety.”

This was Bai Hongtu’s initiative. He knew the forces of Jiuzhou were full of all sorts of evil, and he couldn’t allow them to enter this world without permission.

Bai Hongtu and Changcun Xianweng had a natural affinity for the people of this world. They were the remnants of the immortal realm, protected by the Dao Ancestor with all his might. It could be said that, fundamentally, the Dao Sect and the people of this world descended from the Dao Ancestor’s disciples.

“Furthermore, at the beginning of this exchange, it’s not advisable to have a large number of people traveling back and forth. Our two worlds can select the best and most talented individuals and allow them to travel between worlds, gaining knowledge and experience . Once both worlds are familiar with each other, we can gradually expand the number of participants until there’s no limit on the number of participants.”

Opening up is a gradual process; you can’t just rush everything at once. Jiang Li understood this principle.

“Very good, very good.” Seeing Jiang Li’s thoughtful consideration, Ming Zhong said “very good” twice in a row.

Jiang Li smiled and said, “I have no experience establishing diplomatic relations with other worlds either. We all try by feeling our way forward, so I might have overlooked some things. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them.”

Ming Zhong and Jiang Li exchanged ideas in a harmonious atmosphere. Finally, they decided to sign an agreement, albeit a private one.

They spoke of private roles, but one was the supreme leader, the other the revered Human Emperor of the Nine Provinces. How could they possibly have purely private identities? Their every action represented their own worlds.

This was a tacit understanding between them; private roles offered greater leeway and convenience than official positions.

Otherwise, establishing an agreement between the two worlds wouldn’t be so simple, unless the Nine Provinces were using their power to coerce and colonize the other.

The agreement was simple, encompassing the elements Jiang Li had mentioned earlier. Furthermore, for ease of reference, the name of this world was clearly designated Mingzhong World.

This wasn’t Mingzhong’s own idea, but Jiang Li’s.

Mingzhong reluctantly agreed, grinning from ear to ear.

Naming a world after one’s own name was such an honor, and even Mingzhong, who sought neither fame nor wealth, was overjoyed.

Upon learning the agreement, Bai Hongtu quickly summoned the elders and announced the decision.

“After discussion, it has been decided that Elders Wang, Li, and Su, the three of you will remain in this world to study for two months. After two months, three other elders will replace you.”

Bai Hongtu selected three elders with distinct expertise.

The three elders named beamed with joy. This world was truly fascinating, their wondrous technology overwhelming them and inspiring countless new ideas.

The other elders sighed, pondering how to secure a spot for the next round.

Ming Zhong approached Bai Hongtu, explaining that they hadn’t yet fully unveiled their plans for the Jiuzhou world, and asked if the remaining elders could be more restrained.

Bai Hongtu solemnly warned, “I want to remind you three: you’re here to learn and exchange ideas, not to show off. Most people in this world don’t know about the Jiuzhou world yet. Maintain secrecy while you’re out there. Don’t move mountains, fill the sea, manipulate the universe, or create phenomena that are unexplainable to science. Don’t cause trouble for President Ming Zhong.”

One elder tentatively asked, “Just shifting the positions of a few dozen mountains, isn’t that enough?”

This elder, a master of feng shui, had frequently altered the landscape and feng shui in Jiuzhou, making him the map’s greatest enemy. He wanted to try his hand in this world, to see if feng shui techniques would work and what kind of changes would be possible.

“No.”

“Can’t we move the mountain and then move it back?”

“No.”

“I’m skilled in illusions. I can trap millions of people simultaneously, ensuring they can’t see me cast a spell.”

Clearly, the elder was confident in his skills.

Bai Hongtu’s face darkened. “No.”

“I want to engrave runes on the mechas to strengthen them.”

Bai Hongtu’s expression softened slightly. “Pay attention to the power.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll only engrave them on 100,000 mechas at most.”

Bai Hongtu’s face darkened. “No.”

He felt these three elders were hell-bent on causing trouble in this world.

“Sorry, we elders like to have wild ideas. Don’t take it too seriously,” Bai Hongtu explained.

“No, no,” Ming Zhong said hastily, sweat breaking out on his back. How could this be considered a learning exchange? This was clearly an invitation to three great immortals to demonstrate their magical powers.

The positions of dozens of mountains could be changed at will, millions of people could be trapped in an illusion at will, and there were at most 100,000 mechas. Fortunately, Sect Leader Bai was sensible, otherwise their world would have been destroyed by these elders in a few days.

In comparison, the people Ming Zhong found were much more reliable. They were all outstanding young people in various fields. They were formed into a small class of 20 people and sent them to study in Jiuzhou for a year.

Jiuzhou did not need to conceal the existence of Ming Zhong’s world. Even if the monks had not been to other worlds, they had heard of other worlds. This small class could study in Jiuzhou openly without hiding their identities.

Before leaving, Bai Hongtu and Changcun Xianweng quietly jumped out of the gravitational range and came to a certain planet. Looking at this continent from afar, they vaguely saw the appearance of the Taoist Ancestor, and tears fell on their faces. They kowtowed three times and nine times in the direction of the continent.
