Only at the Mahayana Stage Does the Reversal System Appear - Chapter 118
Chapter 118: Three-choice mission
When Jiang Li and Brahma Tower re-entered the zombie world, the dormant system suddenly stirred.

[Special Mission Three: Please help Luo Ying resolve the zombie crisis on her planet within six months]
[Mission Reward: Extract all of the Immortal Ladder Fragments from Luo Ying’s body]
Are there Immortal Ladder Fragments in Luo Ying’s body? Jiang Li was stunned. This was the first time he’d seen the “Search for the Fragments of the Immortal Stairway” quest. He’d assumed, given the system’s nature, it would take years to release, but he hadn’t expected it to be released now . Furthermore, it was the first time he’d been able to choose from three quests.
It was becoming increasingly user-friendly.
Besides being delighted, he was also puzzled. He’d already met Luo Ying, and hadn’t noticed any system activity. Why was this happening now?
He didn’t choose a quest, but instead asked, “What would happen to Luo Ying if the fragments of the Immortal Stairway were extracted from her?”
Jiang Li worried about negative consequences, such as amnesia, loss of power, loss of emotions, or worst of all, death.
[No impact]
“Then I’ll choose Special Task Three.”
[Special Task Three Selected, Timer Starting Now]
A six-month countdown began to display on the system screen, as if to create a sense of urgency, but Jiang Li was as steady as an old dog.
Resolving the zombie crisis in six months was easy for him. Even six hours would have seemed too much to Jiang Li, let alone six months.
“What’s wrong?” Seeing Jiang Li’s dazed expression, halfway through the Brahma Tower flight, he couldn’t help but ask.
“Nothing.” Jiang Li shook his head, accelerating towards Luo Ying’s planet.
A man and a tower arrived above the planet. Brahma Tower circled, unable to find the group of zombie monks it had brought with it.
“Strange, where are they?”
Brahma Tower searched the nearby spaces, still unable to find the space filled with zombie monks.
“No one should be allowed to enter or leave that space without my permission, and it can’t be moved. How come they’re gone?”
Brahma Tower was extremely confident in its spatial knowledge. There might be immortals in the immortal realm who were more proficient in spatial knowledge than it, but outside of that realm, no one could surpass it.
Had it found the wrong planet? That was even more impossible. It couldn’t make such a minor mistake as spatial positioning.
“Look down there. Is the environment different from when we left?” Jiang Li asked hesitantly, gazing at the planet’s surface.
Brahma Tower also looked down, surprised to find the planet’s surface teeming with life, tall buildings and a constant stream of people.
“How is that possible?” it turned and asked Jiang Li. “This planet’s technology is so advanced, and they’ve already rebuilt it in just a few days?”
“If they had that kind of ability, they would have resolved the zombie crisis long ago.” Jiang Li shook his head. “Besides, there are hundreds of millions of people here now, compared to only tens of millions a few days ago. They can’t just appear out of thin air. Something must have happened in the last few days that we’re not aware of.”
What Jiang Li didn’t mention was that the system’s sudden mission might be related to changes on the planet.
“Go down and take a look.”
…
“It’s been several days, why haven’t you returned yet?”
Luo Ying was a little anxious. Several days had passed since Jiang Li said he’d be back soon and flew off to an unknown location.
Jiang Li’s continued absence worried him about the situation in the ocean, so he sent his men down to gather the latest information. They discovered that even Tier 3 zombies were now rare.
This meant that the energy pyramid was climbing, concentrating on higher-tier zombies.
“No, we can’t wait any longer. If we wait any longer, Tier 6 zombies will be born.”
Luo Ying stood up, ready to persuade the other Tier 5 enhancers.
If Jiang Li returned before the Tier 6 zombies were born, everything would be fine.
But what if Jiang Li returned after the sixth-order zombies were born? Even a day later wouldn’t do; a sixth-order zombie could sweep through the five districts in a single day!
He couldn’t gamble on the speed of Jiang Li’s return against the rate of sixth-order zombies’ birth.
Luo Ying went to Districts Two, Four, and Five, revealing everything that had happened in the ocean, laying out the details, and persuading them to join him in diving into the deep sea to stop the zombies from evolving.
Unexpectedly, the fifth-order enhancers in these three districts demanded exorbitant favors from District One. Time was running out
, so he had no choice but to agree. They were still asking for favors at this hour. Luo Ying gritted his teeth, wishing he could kill these three bastards himself.
On their way to the ocean, the three enhancers exchanged glances, a hint of triumph.
Luo Ying was still too young and impulsive.
In reality, the three districts knew the dangers of the ocean and were investigating the situation, but they were doing so in secret, deliberately feigning indifference to leave Luo Ying alone to worry.
That way, when Luo Ying needed them, they could bargain for District 1’s technology, experts, food, and so on.
Of course, while planning was prudent, they still had to contribute, otherwise, being completely wiped out in the ocean would be disastrous.
These three Level 5 Enhancers were exceptionally skilled, each with their own record of defeating two Level 5 zombies. Their all-out attack greatly reduced Luo Ying’s pressure.
Level 5 Enhancers possess formidable physiques, their skin tougher than even the strongest metal. They can withstand the terrifying pressures of the deep sea and endure long periods without breathing.
The four men swayed their bodies rhythmically, disrupting the ocean currents and allowing them to swim like dolphins.
Such maneuvers must have required years of practice. Luo Ying, in his pursuit of ocean diving, had repeatedly imitated marine animals, resulting in his current technique.
But how could these three be as skilled as he was?
Luo Ying finally realized he had been tricked. They, fearing danger in the ocean, had made preparations long in advance, but none of them had spoken, leaving him as the scapegoat.
Still plotting these things now, disgusting.
However, their priority now was to disrupt the zombie evolution process; they would settle accounts with these bastards later. Even
the number of Level 4 zombies in the ocean was dwindling, demonstrating the astonishing rate of zombie evolution. A chilling feeling welled up in their hearts, they unleashed their full might, fighting to feed their own battles. They united to slay the Level 4 zombies and any isolated Level 5 zombies, using their brain cores to enhance themselves.
