Chapter 898 Enrage and Fury

In the starry sky, two figures were chasing each other at an incredible speed.

It was more of a hunt than a chase.

The enormous monster, like a black lightning bolt, flashed across the sky, each appearance accompanied by the shattering of space.

Lu Qing’s figure moved like a ghost, dodging the fatal attacks time and again at the last second.

Those Dao Integration Realm experts observing with their divine senses held their breath, their hearts pounding in their throats.

They had lived for tens of thousands of years, experienced countless battles, and considered themselves well-versed in the world.

But this battle before them deeply shocked them.

No one had expected that the Vice Abbot of the Black and White Temple would increase his strength so dramatically after revealing his monstrous form.

Each flap of its six wings could traverse the endless starry sky, and each swing of its eight arms could tear space apart.

Its speed and power were beyond measure, forcing Lu Qing, who had been dominating it just moments before, to desperately flee, avoiding its attacks.

“This monster’s strength… how can it be so terrifying?”

a Dao Integration Realm expert murmured, his voice trembling.

He had cultivated for tens of thousands of years, considering himself a strong figure in the Dao Integration Realm.

But looking at that monster now, he felt a deep sense of powerlessness.

If it were him, he probably wouldn’t even last a single exchange.

“Lu Qing is about to collapse…” another Dao Integration Realm expert said, his voice filled with worry, “He’s just a divine sense avatar, while that monster is its true form. If this continues, he’ll be caught sooner or later.”

From their conversation, the Dao Integration Realm experts understood the monster’s origin.

It had actually infiltrated from the world opposite the Dark Abyss.

They all knew about the Dark Abyss, that infamous forbidden zone in the starry sky.

But they had never imagined that another world connected to the other side of the Abyss. They had

never expected that such a terrifying creature existed in that world, and that it had already infiltrated their midst.

Feeling the terrifying aura emanating from the monster, and the fear and trembling deep within their hearts as if facing a natural enemy, they recalled the prophecy that had circulated in the starry sky for countless years.

The prophecy foretold a cataclysmic event that would descend upon the stars, wiping out countless lives and destroying numerous worlds.

They had always treated it as a legend, never taking it seriously.

But now, looking at the monstrous creature, they began to realize that the legendary cataclysm was real, and very likely related to the monster.

Realizing this, everyone’s hearts clenched.

If the prophecy was true, if this monster was the source of the cataclysm, then Lu Qing absolutely could not afford to lose.

If even he lost, perhaps no one in the stars could stop the monster.

“Lu Qing, you must hold on…”

Qiu Ruofeng clenched his fists, his gaze fixed on the starry sky, not daring to look away for a moment.

The white-clad woman from the Kongming Sect also stared intently at the starry sky, her eyes filled with worry.

She wanted to do something, but found herself powerless.

A battle of that level was simply beyond her reach.

Boom!

Amidst everyone’s tense attention, the Vice Abbot struck again.

Its eight arms lashed out simultaneously, sharp claws tearing through space and shattering a section of starry sky spanning a hundred miles.

Spatial fragments flew everywhere, and chaotic void currents surged wildly, turning that area into chaos.

Yet, Lu Qing still managed to dodge this attack.

Lu Qing’s figure appeared several miles away, ethereal and indistinct.

He had used space distortion to create layers upon layers of spatial barriers to protect himself.

These barriers, layer upon layer, were like countless mirrors, reflecting his image countless times, making it impossible to distinguish the real from the fake.

The Deputy Abbot, watching this scene, was both furious and helpless.

Although its demonic fire could dissolve the power of the Great Dao, preventing Lu Qing from suppressing it,

it also felt frustrated facing Lu Qing, who wielded the power of the Great Dao of Space.

His opponent was simply too slippery.

Every attack it launched was about to strike, only for him to dodge at the last moment.

This meant that every attack it launched could only strike his afterimages and the spatial illusions he left behind.

Lu Qing’s spiritual sense was incredibly sharp, often able to predict its attack direction at the last second and dodge in advance.

This allowed it to keep up with Lu Qing’s attacks, but it could never destroy this ant’s divine sense clone.

Moreover, although Lu Qing’s divine sense clone was extremely fragile, the nine fused rays of light in its hand still posed a considerable threat to it.

If it were hit, even in its true form, it would likely suffer some losses.

The power of that sword strike was still fresh in its memory.

Therefore, it had to be constantly on guard to avoid losing face again.

This feeling of frustration made it increasingly irritable.

“Ant, is all you can do is scurry around like a rat?”

The deputy abbot suddenly stopped, hovering in the starry sky, and scoffed.

Its six wings slowly flapped, its eight arms were crossed in front of its chest, and its compound eyes were full of contempt.

“Weren’t you so arrogant just now? If you’ve got the guts, then let’s have a good fight!”

Its voice echoed in the starry sky, carrying a hint of provocation.

“A cheap provocation.”

Lu Qing stood in mid-air, his body somewhat distorted and illusory, indistinct.

Layers of barriers refracted his figure into fragments, making it impossible to determine his true location.

His voice was calm, without a trace of emotion, but his eyes flickered with a thoughtful light.

He was searching for a countermeasure.

After this chase, Lu Qing had to admit that he was indeed somewhat helpless against the monster after it revealed its true form.

The main reason was that the dark power emanating from the monster was truly bizarre, capable of dissolving and annihilating the power of the Great Dao.

His own power of the Great Dao, as long as it approached the monster, would be dissolved and neutralized by the dark power, making it impossible to cause any effective damage.

Moreover, the monster’s physical body was ridiculously strong.

He had seen many cultivators renowned for their physical prowess; those who cultivated the path of body refine their bodies to the point of being like magical treasures.

But the monster before him possessed a body stronger than any body cultivator he had ever encountered.

Its thick carapace, sharp claws, robust arms, and enormous wings—every inch of it contained explosive power.

Even Mo Cangtian’s physical body, once considered quite formidable, was among the top tier of Dao Integration Realm experts.

Yet, before this monster, it was as fragile as an egg, ready to shatter at the slightest touch.

It could be said that, at the Dao Integration Realm level, the monster’s physical strength was unparalleled among all the enemies Lu Qing had ever faced.

Ironically, his divine sense avatar’s strongest technique was the power of the Great Dao, making it a perfect counter.

While the nine rays of light fused together in his palm could injure the monster, without the spatial suppression to hold it back, striking it was equally difficult.

The monster was too fast, and its reactions were too quick. Without spatial suppression, hitting it would be extremely difficult.

However, he also noticed that after revealing its true form, the monster seemed to prefer fighting with its bare hands.

Each of its attacks directly tore through space, using its claws and arms to shred its enemies.

It didn’t use any supernatural powers or apply any laws; it relied solely on pure speed and strength.

As a result, while its speed was terrifying, it was not easy to touch him.

After all, he was proficient in the ways of space, and his greatest strength lay in dodging and teleportation.

As long as he didn’t want to fight, the monster would find it difficult to truly hit him.

So, the current situation was that he couldn’t do anything to the monster, but the monster also couldn’t destroy his avatar.

The two remained locked in a stalemate, neither able to gain the upper hand.

The Deputy Abbot’s compound eyes were fixed on Lu Qing, the light in those eyes growing colder and colder.

Suddenly, it grinned, a ferocious and cruel smile revealing a mouthful of sharp fangs.

“Very well, since you, an ant, like to hide, then keep hiding.”

Its voice carried a chilling chuckle.

“But other ants probably aren’t as good at escaping as you.”

A sudden, ominous premonition surged within Lu Qing.

The deputy abbot continued, his voice growing louder and more manic: “You seem to care a great deal about the ant-like creatures in this starry sky? When you destroyed my branch altar to save those ants, you didn’t hesitate at all.”

Its eight arms slowly spread out, as if to embrace the entire starry sky.

“Since that’s the case, then I’ll devour them all right before your eyes! I’d like to see what you can do!”

Before the words were finished, the deputy abbot’s figure suddenly vanished from the spot.

In Lu Qing’s perception, a massive aura radiating terrifying malice was heading towards the starry sky.

Its speed was extreme, even faster than his clone.

The direction it was heading was precisely where one of the Dao Integration Realm cultivators was observing the battle with divine sense.

“Not good!”

Lu Qing’s heart skipped a beat.

He wasn’t worried about the Dao Integration Realm cultivator, after all, they were complete strangers, and their relationship hadn’t reached that level.

He sensed something amiss from the information revealed by the monster’s actions.

If this monster were to truly wreak havoc in the starry sky, it would be difficult to stop.

With a thought, Lu Qing’s figure also vanished from his spot, chasing after the direction the monster had gone.

His speed was extreme, each step covering billions of miles.

But even so, he could only barely keep up with the monster’s speed.

The monster’s speed was truly terrifying.

In the direction the monster had gone, a Dao Integration Realm expert was observing the battle with his divine sense.

He was a rogue cultivator who had cultivated for tens of thousands of years, finally reaching the Dao Integration Realm.

He was in seclusion in his cave when he was suddenly awakened by the aura of the battle and began observing with his divine sense.

At this moment, he was immersed in shock when he suddenly felt a terrifying malice approaching him.

The strength and intensity of that malice made the hairs on his body stand on end.

“Not good!”

He suddenly realized that the monster was coming for him!

Without thinking, he immediately jumped out of his secluded cultivation place and used spatial teleportation to escape.

His speed was also fast, but in front of the monster, it was as slow as a snail.

His figure had barely appeared tens of thousands of miles away when the monster caught up.

“Why are you running?”

The deputy abbot’s voice seemed to come from the deepest abyss, cold and cruel.

“To become a part of me is your honor.”

Its eight arms stretched out simultaneously, like eight black lightning bolts, instantly traversing tens of thousands of miles to firmly grasp the Dao Integration Realm expert.

“No!”

The Dao Integration Realm expert let out a shrill scream, struggling desperately.

He channeled all his magic power and unleashed all his divine abilities, trying to break free of the eight arms.

But the arms were like iron hoops, unmoving. His attacks struck the monster’s carapace, leaving not even a white mark.

Almost simultaneously, Lu Qing appeared in his original spot.

He witnessed the monster seizing the Dao Integration Realm expert.

The deputy abbot turned his head, looking at Lu Qing, his compound eyes filled with mockery.

“Look at this, this is the Dao Integration Realm cultivator of your starry sky,” it sneered, its tone full of disdain. “A piece of trash, not even daring to resist.”

It looked down at the Dao Integration Realm expert in its hand, then at Lu Qing.

“Tell me, what should I do with him?”

It deliberately slowed its movements, as if savoring the moment.

“Should I slowly crush every bone in his body, or devour his primordial spirit directly? Or tear him to pieces and eat him piece by piece?”

The Dao Integration Realm expert was trembling with fear, unable to speak.

He was just a rogue cultivator who had cultivated for tens of thousands of years, finally reaching the Dao Integration Realm.

He had never imagined he would die like this.

The Deputy Abbot laughed loudly, his laughter echoing through the starry sky.

Then, in front of Lu Qing, its eight arms suddenly tightened.

“Ah!”

The Dao Integration Realm expert let out a short scream, his entire body crushed into a bloody, mangled ball of flesh.

His flesh, his bones, his internal organs—all were crushed by that terrifying power, mixed together, and turned into a lump of bloody mud.

The deputy abbot opened his fang-filled mouth, stuffed the lump of flesh into it, chewed a few times, and swallowed.

A satisfied glint flashed in his compound eyes.

“Not bad,” he licked his lips, looking at Lu Qing. “Although not as good as you geniuses, it’s not bad either.”

Then, with a flick of his wrist, a black light flew from his hand, blasting towards a small life world not far away.

That small world was not large, only about one-tenth the size of an ordinary life world.

But hundreds of millions of beings lived on it.

There were mortals, cultivators, the elderly, children, men, and women.

The black light fell into the small world and exploded instantly.

Terrifying dark power raged within the small world, unleashing countless natural disasters and storms.

The earth trembled, the ocean roared, and the sky burned.

Cities crumbled in the storm, continents sank in the tsunami.

Countless lives perished in the disaster, without even a chance to scream.

The cultivators in that small world fought desperately, but their strongest were only at the Golden Core stage, how could they withstand the power of the Dao Integration stage?

Lu Qing watched this scene, his eyes burning with murderous intent like a volcanic eruption.

He could disregard the life or death of a rogue Dao Integration stage cultivator, but he could not bear to watch so many innocent lives perish.

Those mortals, those children, those old people—they had done nothing wrong; they were merely living in that small world, yet they suffered annihilation.

And that monster, it was only meant to provoke him.

“How about it?” the deputy abbot laughed, his voice full of smugness. “Feeling sorry for me? Angry? Want to kill me?”

Its eight arms slowly opened, as if welcoming something.

“Come on, come and kill me. Let me see what you can do to me.”

It knew Lu Qing couldn’t defeat it.

It knew its dark power countered the power of the Great Dao, its speed was faster than Lu Qing’s, and its physical body was stronger.

It knew Lu Qing couldn’t do anything to it.

Its goal was to provoke Lu Qing, to make him lose his mind, to make him make a mistake.

Once Lu Qing made a mistake, it could seize the opportunity to completely annihilate this clone.

Lu Qing looked at it, silent for a moment.

Then, he smiled.

That smile was icy cold, sending chills down one’s spine

. He first unleashed a beam of light, landing in that small world and stabilizing the raging natural disaster within.

Then, he said calmly, “Since you want to die, then I’ll grant your wish.”

Lu Qing’s voice was perfectly calm, without a trace of emotion.

But in his eyes, a chilling light flickered.

The Deputy Abbot suddenly felt a bad premonition.

The next moment, Lu Qing’s main body, far away in the Guixu Secret Realm, suddenly opened its eyes.

Those eyes shone with a sharp light, like two dazzling stars.

Within that light, space flowed, the five elements were born and died, sword intent roared, power surged, and illusions shifted.

Nine kinds of Great Dao essence simultaneously appeared in his eyes.

His aura began to rise wildly at that moment. (End of Chapter)
