Chapter 896 Severed! Revealing the True Form

In the starry sky, a ball of light in Lu Qing’s hand radiated terrifying power.

The light wasn’t dazzling; instead, it was gentle and restrained, like a miniature sun, quietly suspended in his palm.

Yet, the power contained within caused the surrounding space to slightly distort, as if unable to withstand the pressure of the light.

The convergence of numerous Great Dao powers revealed an aura that resonated throughout the starry sky.

It was an indescribable feeling, as if the most fundamental mysteries of heaven and earth were condensed into this small ball of light.

Space, the Five Elements, sword, power, illusion… nine distinct powers perfectly merged here, complementing each other to form an unprecedented harmony.

That aura, like ripples, spread outwards from Lu Qing in all directions.

It pierced through layers of space, traversed countless stars, and reached every corner of the surrounding Immortal Realms.

It abruptly awakened many ancient cultivators who were in seclusion during their Dao Integration cultivation.

And in the center of the battlefield, the Vice Abbot of the Black and White Temple’s pupils contracted sharply.

He stared intently at the ball of light in Lu Qing’s hand, his composure and mockery vanishing completely, replaced

by an undisguised look of shock.

He sensed an incredibly dangerous aura emanating from that light.

It was an instinctive warning, an intuition honed through countless years of life-or-death battles.

Though the light was small and contained, the power it held was enough to truly threaten him.

“You little devil, I admit, your tortoise shell does have its unique features,”

Lu Qing said calmly, holding the ball of light.

His voice was calm, without a trace of emotion, but his eyes flashed with a cold light.

“However, I’d like to see if you can withstand this attack.”

In just a few breaths, Lu Qing had figured out how to break this strange black barrier.

It boiled down to four words: break it with brute force.

Indeed, while this black barrier could dissolve the laws of the Great Dao, this ability must have its limits.

If this black barrier could suppress the laws of the Great Dao without limit, then the ancient sages would never have been able to annihilate all the invading evil creatures.

They would have been devoured by those evil creatures long ago. The

reason he couldn’t break through the black barrier earlier was probably because his current cultivation level was still too low, and he couldn’t reach the barrier’s limit with just a single power of the Great Dao.

It’s like using a drop of water to extinguish a flame; it’s naturally useless.

But if you use an entire river to extinguish it, the result is completely different.

Since that’s the case, he’ll just unleash all nine powers at once and see if this tortoise shell can withstand it.

Lu Qing knew that this clone of his was formed from his divine sense, and its physical strength was far inferior to his main body, let alone able to use various supernatural powers.

Moreover, he wasn’t carrying any magic treasures; his strongest method was to activate the power of the Great Dao to fight.

Therefore, unleashing all nine powers at once was already the strongest move of this divine sense clone.

If even this move couldn’t defeat this strange creature in front of him, then perhaps only his main body could deal with him when it came out of seclusion.

Although the deputy abbot of the Black and White Temple’s heart pounded, he took a deep breath, suppressing his fear and forcing himself to remain calm.

“Boy, do you think nine attacks at once can break through my Heavenly Demon Barrier?” he sneered, his voice full of disdain. “How could you, a mere ant from the lower realm, possibly imagine the defenses of my clan? Come and try, I’ll see what you can do to me.”

His tone was contemptuous, as if he didn’t take Lu Qing seriously at all.

But secretly, the power within him was surging wildly, pushing the Heavenly Demon Barrier to its limit.

The black barrier became even more solid and thicker.

At the same time, the ancient Dao Integration Realm elders from several nearby Immortal Realms, alerted by the attack, also projected their wills onto this side.

Streams of divine sense and will converged from all directions, landing on this starry sky.

They dared not approach too closely, only daring to observe from afar, fearing they would be affected by the terrifying battle.

When their divine senses swept across the battlefield and sensed the auras of Lu Qing and the deputy abbot, they were all shocked.

“That’s… the Vice Abbot of the Black and White Temple?”

“How can his aura be so powerful? Peak of the Dao Integration Realm, this… how is this possible?”

“So this old demon has been hiding his strength all along!”

“And that young man… who is he? How could he be fighting against the people of the Black and White Temple?”

Someone recognized Lu Qing and exclaimed, “It’s that one! That extraordinary cultivator who achieved the Dao Integration Realm with nine Great Daos!”

“What! It’s him? Wasn’t it said that he had only recently broken through? How can a single divine sense avatar possess such strength?”

Discussions spread among the divine senses. Those ancient beings who had lived for tens of thousands of years had lost their usual composure.

What shocked them even more was the terrifying power of the ball of light in Lu Qing’s hand and the eerie black barrier surrounding the Vice Abbot.

The power contained within that light made even these Dao Integration Realm experts feel a chill.

And that black barrier made them feel even more unfamiliar and fearful.

It was a power they had never seen before, not belonging to this starry sky, not belonging to any Great Dao they knew.

In the Netherworld Palace, Qiu Ruofeng was discussing matters with several elders.

Suddenly, he shuddered, abruptly standing up and looking out the window.

“That one! Who is he fighting?”

His expression changed drastically, his divine sense instantly extending towards the battlefield.

When his divine sense touched that starry sky and sensed the two terrifying auras, his expression turned even more grim.

“The Vice Abbot of the Black and White Sect? How could Lu Qing be fighting him?”

A black-robed elder beside him exclaimed, “Supreme Elder, that Vice Abbot’s aura… how can it be so powerful? Peak Dao Integration Realm, this… this is completely different from what we reported!”

Qiu Ruofeng remained silent, staring intently at the starry sky.

He was extremely anxious.

He didn’t know why Lu Qing had attacked the Black and White Sect so quickly, nor did he know if Lu Qing could even be a match for that Vice Abbot.

That Vice Abbot was hiding his true strength far too well.

With his peak Dao Integration Realm strength, coupled with that eerie black barrier, even if the entire Netherworld Palace were to mobilize, they might not be able to defeat him.

Although Lu Qing had integrated the Nine Great Daos, possessing limitless potential, he had only recently broken through, and at this moment, he was merely a divine sense avatar…

“Lu Qing, please, please don’t let anything happen to you,” Qiu Ruofeng murmured, his eyes filled with worry.

At this moment, in the center of the battlefield, the ball of light in Lu Qing’s hand had reached its peak.

The light grew brighter and brighter, as if it would illuminate the entire starry sky.

The power of the nine Great Daos was perfectly fused within it, forming an unprecedented power.

Lu Qing raised his eyes and looked at the Deputy Abbot.

“Slash!”

He shouted softly, and the ball of light in his hand suddenly transformed into a sword of light.

The sword of light was not long, only about three feet, but the power contained within it made the entire starry sky tremble.

With a wave of Lu Qing’s hand, the sword of light slashed down fiercely.

This sword strike was terrifyingly powerful.

A massive rift was instantly cleaved through the starry sky, extending from Lu Qing’s figure all the way to the Vice Abbot’s presence.

Within the rift, spatial fragments flew everywhere, and chaotic void currents surged, emanating a chilling aura.

The speed of the light sword had surpassed all limits.

It didn’t fly there; it appeared before the Vice Abbot the instant it was unleashed.

Space lost its meaning at this moment, and distance became irrelevant.

The deputy abbot’s pupils contracted sharply.

He tried to dodge, but found his body locked by the oppressive force of the light sword, unable to move at all.

He tried to do something, but found it was too late.

He could only watch helplessly as the sword struck the Heavenly Demon Barrier.

Boom!

A terrifying shockwave shook the starry sky.

Countless stars trembled in the deafening roar, and countless spaces shattered.

The light sword struck the black barrier, unleashing a dazzling light.

The brilliance of that light was so intense that even those Dao Integration Realm experts observing with their divine sense felt their eyes sting.

This time, however, the black barrier could no longer neutralize all of Lu Qing’s attacks as it had before.

Although its strange ability to neutralize the power of the Great Dao remained, and it desperately tried to dissolve the power of the Great Dao within the light sword,

the power of Lu Qing’s attack was simply too terrifying.

The simultaneous eruption of nine types of Great Dao power far exceeded the black barrier’s tolerance limit.

While it neutralized some of the Great Dao power, an even more surging force directly crushed down.

The black barrier began to tremble and crack.

Cracks, like a spiderweb, spread across its surface.

The deputy abbot’s expression finally changed.

“Impossible…”

he muttered to himself, his eyes filled with disbelief.

According to the records left by their ancestor from ancient times, even a cultivator from this other world at the peak of the Dao Integration Realm would find it difficult to break through his clan’s Heavenly Demon Barrier, given his current cultivation level. This was

because their power was inherently restrained by their clan’s magical power, allowing them to unleash only 30% of their full strength.

Yet now, this young man who had only recently broken through to the Dao Integration Realm, and who was merely a divine sense avatar, had actually broken through his barrier?

How could this be?

Boom!

Finally, when Lu Qing’s sword strike had consumed more than half of its power, the strange barrier could no longer withstand it and shattered with a deafening roar.

The black fragments flew everywhere, tracing dark paths across the starry sky before slowly dissipating.

The remaining power of the light sword slammed into the deputy abbot without reservation.

“Not good…”

The deputy abbot’s eyes widened in shock the moment the barrier shattered.

He tried to dodge, but it was too late.

The residual force of the light sword slammed into him solidly.

Boom!

Accompanied by an incredibly violent spatial explosion, the starry sky within a radius of hundreds of miles centered on the Vice Abbot was completely shattered.

Spatial fragments, void turbulence, and the power of the Great Dao raged wildly, turning that area almost into chaos.

The terrifying power made all the Dao Integration Realm cultivators who were watching this battle with their divine senses tremble.

They stared blankly at the chaos, speechless for a long time.

“This… how is this possible?”

“This person’s strength is terrifyingly powerful!”

“A divine sense avatar has such strength? How powerful must his main body be?”

Discussions spread among the divine senses. Those ancient beings who had lived for tens of thousands of years had lost their usual composure.

While shocked by Lu Qing’s strength, they were also somewhat incredulous.

Could it be that the mysterious Vice Abbot of the Black and White Temple had actually fallen at Lu Qing’s hands?

In that chaotic void, the power of the Great Dao still raged, and fragments of space still flew about.

Everything was obscured, and nothing could be seen.

Only Lu Qing frowned slightly, gazing at the starry sky ravaged by the power of the Great Dao.

He did not lower his guard, because he could sense that the aura of the Abbot had not disappeared.

Although much weaker, it was still there.

The next moment, a voice rang out from the chaotic power of the Great Dao.

The voice was hoarse and deep, filled with anger and killing intent, as if it came from the deepest abyss.

“Insect, you have truly angered me.”

Boom!

With the sound of this voice, the power of the Great Dao that filled the starry sky was instantly shattered by a terrifying force.

A huge figure appeared in the starry sky.

It was a ferocious monster.

It was as big as a small mountain, pitch black, and covered with a thick carapace.

The carapace was covered with strange patterns, emitting a faint glow, and slowly wriggled like a living creature.

It had six wings, each enormous, which, when spread out, would blot out the sky.

Its wings were covered in sharp bone spikes, their edges like blades, gleaming with a cold light.

It also had eight arms, each thick and powerful, ending in sharp claws capable of tearing stars apart.

Black liquid clung to the claws, emitting a nauseating stench.

It had a pair of thick hind legs supporting its massive body, muscles bulging, brimming with explosive power.

Its head was even more bizarre.

It was a face covered in compound eyes, countless eyes densely packed together, each gleaming with a cold light.

From its mouth was a long, sharp proboscis, its edge gleaming, radiating an ominous aura.

The proboscis was like a spear, or a sword, its tip incredibly sharp, seemingly capable of piercing anything.

“What kind of monster is this?!”

Upon seeing this bizarre creature, all the Dao Integration Realm experts observing it with their divine sense gasped in horror.

They had never seen such a strange and terrifying monster before.

Its aura was several times stronger than before.

It was a pure, primal, and brutal power, filled with a destructive desire.

No one had imagined that the enigmatic Deputy Abbot of the Black and White Temple would actually be such a monster in disguise.

He had hidden for over ten thousand years, always appearing in human form; no one had ever seen his true form.

And now, Lu Qing had forced him to reveal his true form.

Only Qiu Ruofeng and the others from the Netherworld Palace were utterly shaken.

They stared intently at the monster, their eyes filled with disbelief.

Because the monster before them bore an uncanny resemblance to creatures depicted in certain scrolls passed down from their ancestors!

Those scrolls were left behind by their Netherworld Palace’s founder.

They recorded secrets from ancient times, including descriptions of evil creatures from another world.

And the monster before them was almost identical to those descriptions!

“This…this is impossible…” Qiu Ruofeng murmured, his voice trembling, “Could it be that the deputy abbot of the Black and White Temple is…”

He didn’t finish his sentence, but the elders beside him understood his meaning.

That monster was the evil creature that invaded this starry sky in ancient times!

And it had been hiding within the Black and White Temple, disguised in human form, lurking for over ten thousand years! At

this moment, all the elders of the Netherworld Palace felt a chill run down their spines. (End of Chapter)
