Chapter 877 Monsters Rise Like a Tide, Throne and Corpse

Lu Qing led Qiu Ruofeng and the others closer to the massive black tomb.

The tomb stretched deep within the black mountains, appearing seemingly close from a distance.

However, as they continued forward, Lu Qing realized it was merely an optical illusion caused by the tomb’s immense size.

Even after flying for a full quarter of an hour at their current speed, the tomb remained distant, seemingly forever out of reach.

Lu Qing carefully observed the tomb as he flew.

It was entirely black, constructed of an unknown material, with countless ancient runes faintly visible on its surface, shimmering with a dim light.

These runes were densely packed, layered upon layer, covering the entire outer wall of the tomb, exuding an eerie and mysterious aura.

The tomb’s shape resembled a colossal palace, or perhaps a mausoleum.

Sharp at the top and broad at the bottom, it was square and imposing, giving it an extremely solemn and majestic feel.

Yet, within that solemnity lay an indescribable eeriness.

Unfortunately, he was currently only a divine consciousness avatar and could not use his special abilities.

Otherwise, with his current level of strength, he should be able to discern some of the truth about this black tomb.

Although he lacks supernatural abilities, his mastery of divination remains.

If there is any danger, he can sense it and detect it in advance.

Lu Qing silently deduce as he flies.

After a moment, his brow furrows slightly.

This tomb is strange.

In the illusion within the shattered jade, the “Mysterious Transformation” powerhouse he saw possessed boundless, radiant power, exuding righteous energy in every gesture.

That white figure, that translucent jade ruyi, that purifying light—all left a deep impression on him.

But this tomb before him is filled with demonic energy.

The endless demonic flames, the pervasive darkness, the eerie runes—all exude a chilling aura.

Is this truly the place where the “Mysterious Transformation” powerhouse perished?

A doubt arises in Lu Qing’s heart.

But he doesn’t voice it, only silently increasing his vigilance.

The group continues to approach the tomb.

As they drew closer, the outline of the great tomb became increasingly clear.

It was even larger than Lu Qing had imagined; the outer wall alone was tens of thousands of feet high, like a colossal black barrier reaching to the heavens, stretching across the sky.

Just as the group was about to approach the outer perimeter of the tomb, a sudden change occurred.

A strange fluctuation suddenly emanated from within the tomb.

The fluctuation spread outwards like ripples, instantly sweeping over the group.

The next moment, everything around them changed.

The black demonic flames that had been burning quietly suddenly began to dance wildly.

As if stimulated by something, they surged forth from the ground, from between the rocks, and from the void.

In the blink of an eye, they formed a boundless sea of black fire.

Even more terrifying were the monsters born from those demonic flames.

Countless monsters, densely packed like swarming bees, poured out of the demonic flames, swarming towards them in a devastating attack.

These monsters were of various shapes; some resembled humans, some beasts, and some were completely indistinguishable.

They were engulfed in black demonic flames, radiating a violent aura. Their eyes held no intelligence, only pure bloodlust.

Most terrifying of all was their aura.

The weakest were at the peak of the Nascent Soul stage, while the powerful ones exuded an aura comparable to that of Qiu Ruofeng and his fellow Dao Integration Realm veterans.

Upon witnessing this scene, Qiu Ruofeng and the others turned deathly pale.

The black-robed figures with him also felt their scalps tingle and their bodies stiffen.

“This…this…” one of the black-robed figures stammered, unable to speak.

“How could there be so many!” another black-robed figure’s voice trembled.

Qiu Ruofeng, after all, was a man who had seen many storms. Although shocked, he maintained some composure.

He quickly scanned the overwhelming horde of monsters, roughly estimating at least tens of thousands!

Among them, at least dozens possessed auras at the Dao Integration Realm level!

Dozens of Dao Integration Realm monsters!

What did that mean?

A Dao Integration Realm expert would be a hegemon in any immortal realm, a being whose mere stomp could make countless forces tremble.

And here, there were dozens of Dao Integration Realm monsters!

And that didn’t even include the Nascent Soul Realm ones.

With such terrifying power, let alone these few people, even ten times their number would only be torn to shreds.

“As expected, the Fallen Land of beings surpassing the Dao Transformation Realm can’t be entered so easily,”

Qiu Ruofeng murmured, his eyes filled with despair.

The black-robed figures also looked ashen-faced.

They had thought that with a powerful expert like Lu Qing accompanying them, they could handle any dangers on this journey.

But the scene before them shattered their illusions.

This kind of force was simply beyond their ability to contend with.

Even if Lu Qing was strong, he was only a divine sense avatar.

The densely packed monsters had already surged forward like a tide, no more than a thousand miles away.

At their terrifying speed, they would reach them in a few breaths.

“It’s over…” one of the black-robed figures closed his eyes.

But just then, Lu Qing moved.

He merely flicked his sleeve.

In an instant, the world changed color.

An incomparably surging spatial power erupted from Lu Qing, instantly spreading across a radius of a thousand miles.

That power was vast and boundless, carrying an indescribable pressure, as if the entire world was under his control. The

surrounding space began to distort violently, spatial rifts appeared out of thin air, then quickly healed, in a never-ending cycle.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others only felt a blur before their eyes, and the next moment, they witnessed a scene they would never forget.

The space around the great tomb began to collapse on a large scale.

It was not a simple distortion, not a simple shattering, but a true and complete collapse.

It was as if an invisible giant hand was crushing that space, compressing it relentlessly.

Countless fragments of space, countless demonic flames, and countless monsters were all swept up in the terrifying collapse.

In the end, everything converged into a pitch-black dot the size of a fist.

That dot was darker than the Abyss of Demons, deeper than the void, seemingly capable of devouring everything.

It hovered there silently, yet emanated an unimaginable, terrifying suction force.

Faced with this terrifying suction force, the demonic fire monsters, swarming like bees, could not control their forms at all.

They let out shrill roars and struggled frantically, but to no avail.

One after another, batch after batch, they were all swept up by the suction force and sucked into that pitch-black dot.

As soon as they entered the dot, they were instantly crushed into powder, turning into primordial energy and dissipating without a trace.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others stared blankly at this scene, their eyes wide open and their mouths agape.

In just over ten breaths, the countless, overwhelming demonic fire monsters within a thousand-mile radius vanished completely.

Not a single one remained.

All the roars, all the ferocity, all the bloodlust, were utterly annihilated along with them in that dark origin.

And that dark origin, having fulfilled its mission, also slowly dissipated, as if it had never existed.

The surroundings fell into a deathly silence once more.

Only the rocks shattered by the aftershocks continued to drift down.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others remained stunned for a long time.

They stared blankly at the empty void before them, at the vanished monsters, at the black tomb still silently floating not far away, their minds a complete blank.

“This…this…” A man in black robes opened his mouth, but could not utter a word.

Qiu Ruofeng swallowed hard, his gaze towards Lu Qing completely changed.

It was a gaze of utter awe.

An instinctive submission in the face of an incomprehensible being.

You must understand, those monsters just now numbered in the tens of thousands!

The weakest among them were at the peak of the Nascent Soul stage, and the powerful dozens even possessed auras no less than these Dao Integration Realm elders!

With such a lineup, let alone these few individuals, even if the entire Netherworld Palace were to unleash its full power, they would only face total annihilation.

Yet, such terrifying power couldn’t even withstand a single exchange against Lu Qing.

With a mere flick of his sleeve, in just ten breaths, they were all reduced to ashes.

What did this mean?

This was beyond their comprehension.

Even more terrifying was that the person before them was merely a divine sense avatar!

A mere divine sense avatar possessed such terrifying strength!

How powerful must his true body be?

Qiu Ruofeng dared not imagine, nor could he fathom it.

He only knew one thing:

he absolutely could not become Lu Qing’s enemy!

Absolutely!

This person’s power had truly reached a level beyond their comprehension.

“Let’s go,”

Lu Qing’s calm voice snapped everyone out of their daze.

His expression was calm, as if he had just done something insignificant, and he continued flying towards the black tomb.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others snapped out of their daze and hurriedly followed.

This time, their gazes towards Lu Qing were completely different.

It wasn’t just respect, but deep awe, even fear.

Lu Qing sensed their change but paid no attention.

He knew perfectly well that his seemingly effortless move was actually based on his profound observation of the Demon Abyss and its monsters.

In his previous observations, he discovered that while the monsters were powerful, they lacked reason, driven only by an instinctive bloodlust.

In other words, although they possessed the aura of the Dao Integration Realm, they didn’t understand how to utilize the power of laws or employ supernatural abilities; they were merely reckless brutes charging about on instinct.

Such clumsy monsters were naturally no match for his spatial laws. He

only needed to utilize the spatial laws to their fullest extent, annihilating them along with the surrounding space, to easily resolve the situation.

However, if it were Qiu Ruofeng and the others, it would be a completely different story.

They were true Dao Integration Realm cultivators, having comprehended the laws of the Great Dao for countless years, their mastery of various laws already deeply ingrained.

Against them, his move wouldn’t have the same effect.

Because they would resist, they would defend, they would use their own laws to contend with him.

But these monsters wouldn’t.

Therefore, they could only be crushed.

Of course, he wouldn’t say these things aloud.

The group continued to approach the great tomb.

However, just as they had flown a few dozen miles, another surge of energy erupted from the great tomb.

The next moment, even more demonic flame monsters poured in from all directions.

This time, their numbers were even greater than before!

Densely packed, they blotted out the sky, almost completely obscuring it.

The roars of these monsters merged together, forming a deafening sonic boom that made Qiu Ruofeng and the others’ eardrums ache.

Qiu Ruofeng’s face paled, but the despair from before was gone.

He simply looked at Lu Qing, his eyes filled with expectation.

Lu Qing’s expression remained unchanged, and he waved his sleeve again.

Space collapsed once more, condensing back into a dark point, once more absorbing the endless monsters and crushing them to dust.

A dozen breaths later, the surroundings were quiet again.

The group continued forward.

However, just as they flew a few dozen miles, the monsters surged in again.

Lu Qing attacked once more.

And so, they continued forward, killing as they went.

The monsters seemed endless, impossible to kill completely.

Every time they thought they had wiped them all out, even more would surge forth from ahead.

Moreover, as they approached the great tomb, the monsters grew stronger.

Initially, most were at the peak of the Nascent Soul stage, but later, monsters at the Dao Integration stage increased in number.

Even beings stronger than Qiu Ruofeng and his companions appeared.

However, before Lu Qing’s spatial laws, they were still utterly helpless.

That pitch-black dot seemed to be the nemesis of all monsters.

No matter how many came, no matter how strong, once sucked in, there was only one fate—annihilation.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others were numb to the sight.

Their initial shock, then awe, and now calmness, had undergone a complete transformation.

They were incredibly grateful that they had come with Lu Qing.

Otherwise, the monsters on the outer perimeter alone would have been enough to wipe them out, leaving them without a burial place.

No wonder even Dao Transformation Immortals were so wary of the Dark Abyss in ancient times.

Even now, with the darkness weakened so much, it was still so terrifying.

In ancient times, when the darkness was at its most concentrated, even Dao Transformation Immortals would have perished if they ventured deep into this place.

They fought their way forward.

After an unknown amount of time, once Lu Qing had slain another wave of monsters, the situation finally changed.

They had finally reached the foot of the Black Tomb.

The massive outer wall stood before them, towering into the clouds and blotting out the sun.

The ancient runes on the wall were now clearer, emitting a dim light, as if they had come alive.

The main entrance to the tomb was a massive stone door.

The door was about a hundred feet high, entirely black, and also engraved with countless runes.

In the very center of the door was a huge pattern, resembling an eye or a sun, sending chills down one’s spine.

The door was tightly shut, without any gaps.

Lu Qing quietly looked at the door, then raised his hand and gently waved it.

A surge of spatial power erupted, transforming into an invisible force that pushed against the door.

Rumble…

The door slowly opened, emitting a muffled roar.

Behind the door was a deep passage leading directly into the depths of the tomb.

Lu Qing sensed something but didn’t feel any intense danger, so without hesitation, he stepped into the passage first.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others quickly followed.

The passage was long, with black stone walls on both sides, inscribed with countless runes.

These runes emitted a faint glow in the darkness, making the passage appear and disappear.

After walking for a long time, they finally reached the end.

Before them, a vast space opened up.

It was a huge space, spanning hundreds of miles.

The dome of the space was extremely high, seemingly without a top.

The surrounding stone walls were also densely inscribed with runes, emitting an eerie light.

In the center of this space stood a huge jade throne.

The throne was pure white, emitting a soft light, forming a stark contrast with the surrounding darkness.

It stood there silently, as if it had existed since time immemorial.

Seated on the throne was a figure.

The figure was incredibly tall, even seated, he was still tens of feet tall.

He wore a white robe, his long hair was flowing, and his face was handsome, but his eyes were tightly closed, as if he had fallen into an eternal slumber.

But what truly shook Lu Qing was the figure’s condition.

The left half of his body still radiated a vast and luminous aura, exactly as he had seen in the illusion of the shattered jade.

It was an indescribable holiness that inspired awe at first glance.

But the right half of his body was completely consumed by darkness.

The darkness was thick and inky, writhing and spreading like a living thing.

Countless black threads extended from the darkness, coiling around his body, as if to devour him completely.

What horrified Lu Qing even more was the source of those demonic fire monsters.

He saw wisps of demonic energy continuously surging from the figure’s black body.

Each wisp of demonic energy, once released, condensed in the air, transforming into a demonic fire monster.

Some of these monsters were strong, some weak, some just formed, and some already fully formed.

After being born from that figure, they surged outwards like a tide, merging into the endless army of monsters.

Each wisp of demonic energy could conjure a demonic fire monster.

And those with auras reaching the Dao Integration Realm were numerous.

Lu Qing stared silently at that figure, his mind reeling.

He recognized it.

It was the Xuanhua Great Power he had seen in the Shattered Jade Illusion.

That peerless expert who trod on galaxies and shattered countless stars with a mere gesture.

The white-robed immortal, wielding a jade ruyi, held

his own against four opponents. He was besieged by Mo Tian and the Blood Demon, ultimately escaping severely wounded.

It turned out he hadn’t escaped; he had perished.

He fell in the deepest part of this Dark Abyss, transforming into a corpse corroded by darkness.

And from his corpse, terrifying monsters were being born endlessly, becoming the greatest source of danger in this abyss.

Lu Qing silently watched that figure, remaining silent for a long time.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others also saw that figure, saw the endless stream of monsters, their faces pale, their bodies trembling.

They finally understood why the monsters in this abyss were endless.

Because what they were killing were the corpses of this Xuanhua powerhouse constantly being born.

As long as the corpses existed, the monsters would never cease.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others looked at Lu Qing, their eyes questioning.

Lu Qing didn’t move.

He simply stared at the figure, his gaze deep, lost in thought.

After a long while, he slowly spoke, his voice low and solemn.

“Senior Xuanhua, this junior is Lu Qing. I apologize for my intrusion.”

His voice echoed in the empty hall, lingering for a long time.

The figure on the throne remained seated silently, without any reaction.

Only the continuous stream of demonic energy continued to surge from its body, transforming into monsters that flew outwards. (End of Chapter)
