Chapter 876 The Deal, The Black Tomb

“So, what is your purpose in bringing me here?”

Lu Qing looked at Qiu Ruofeng, his expression calm.

In fact, he had already guessed.

From Qiu Ruofeng revealing these secrets one by one, and so solemnly inviting him to this Dark Abyss, his intention was already very clear.

Sure enough, Qiu Ruofeng’s next words confirmed his thoughts.

“This old man would like to ask fellow Daoist for help in exploring the location of the Xuanhua Great Power’s inheritance.” Qiu Ruofeng took a deep breath and slowly spoke.

He looked at Lu Qing, his eyes full of expectation.

“Fellow Daoist is an unprecedented cultivator, achieving the Dao Integration Realm with nine Great Daos.

Among these nine Great Daos, there is one that no one has ever successfully merged with in their divine sense: the Great Dao of Space.

It can be said that in this era where Dao Transformation Immortals are not prominent, it is no exaggeration to say that your attainments in the Dao of Space are the best in the starry sky.”

Qiu Ruofeng’s tone became increasingly solemn.

“Within this Dark Abyss, shrouded in eerie dark power, the laws of space have become incredibly chaotic.

Even a Dao Integration Realm expert, if they venture too deep, will have their senses blocked and will find it difficult to discern directions.

Deep within this abyss lie numerous imperceptible spatial vortexes. These vortexes may seem ordinary, but they lead to extremely dangerous locations.

A slight misstep can result in being swept away and never to return.”

He paused, a hint of regret flashing in his eyes.

“To be honest, fellow Daoist, our Netherworld Palace has lost several Supreme Elders in the years of exploring this Abyss.

Two of them perished instantly because they misjudged the direction and were swept away by suddenly appearing spatial vortexes.

We could only watch helplessly.”

The black-robed figures also looked somber upon hearing this.

Although those Supreme Elders had only lost their physical bodies and had been resurrected through pre-existing divine senses, their physical bodies had been completely destroyed.

However, the loss of their physical bodies meant the depletion of years of accumulated cultivation, and it was unknown when they would recover.

This was also a great loss for their Netherworld Palace.

Qiu Ruofeng continued, “I’m afraid only someone like you, a powerful cultivator who has achieved the Dao of Integration through the Great Dao of Space, can avoid getting lost in this Dark Abyss and avoid those spatial vortexes. That’s

why I dared to invite you here, hoping you can lend us a hand.”

After he finished speaking, he and the other black-robed men looked intently at Lu Qing, their eyes full of expectation.

Lu Qing’s expression remained unchanged, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

He didn’t speak, but simply looked at Qiu Ruofeng quietly.

These words sounded nice, something about being “the number one person in the starry sky” and “unprecedented,” but they were just Qiu Ruofeng’s words.

How could he possibly believe them?

Although at his level and with his expertise in divination, he vaguely sensed that what Qiu Ruofeng said was mostly true.

The prophecy, the calamity, the Xuanhua inheritance—they shouldn’t be fabricated.

But that didn’t mean he completely believed what the other party said.

Who knew what the Netherworld Palace was planning?

What lies deep within this Demon Abyss? And what untold dangers lurk behind that profound inheritance?

He wasn’t some naive newcomer who would get carried away by flattery and agree to anything.

So, facing the expectant gazes of Qiu Ruofeng and the black-robed men, Lu Qing simply said, “What does what Fellow Daoist Qiu is saying have to do with the disappearance of those ancient Dao Transformation Immortals?”

Qiu Ruofeng was slightly taken aback.

He hadn’t expected that after all he’d said, Lu Qing would still steer the conversation back to the original question.

This Fellow Daoist Lu was truly impervious to reason.

He smiled bitterly to himself, but he was even more certain that this person before him was no ordinary individual.

To maintain such a clear head in the face of flattery from a Dao Integration Realm expert, and the temptation of a possible Dao Transformation-level inheritance, was indeed rare.

Seeing that Lu Qing remained unmoved, Qiu Ruofeng understood that it was impossible to get his help with words alone.

He remained silent for a moment, then finally sighed.

“Fellow Daoist’s insight is truly remarkable; I admire it.” He raised his head, looking at Lu Qing, his expression becoming solemn. “In that case, I’ll make a deal with you.”

“What deal?” Lu Qing asked.

Qiu Ruofeng said, word by word, “I will tell you all the whereabouts of those ancient Dao Transformation Immortals. In exchange, you must take us to explore the inheritance site of that Xuanhua Great Power.” After

he finished speaking, he looked at Lu Qing quietly, awaiting his reply.

Lu Qing didn’t speak, but pondered.

The whereabouts of the ancient Dao Transformation Immortals was what he most wanted to know on this trip.

Judging from the information Qiu Ruofeng had just revealed, the ancestors of the Netherworld Palace had produced Dao Transformation Immortals, and they also possessed that prophecy, clearly knowing many secrets.

The “whereabouts” they spoke of likely contained a great secret.

And he was indeed quite curious about the inheritance site of that Xuanhua Great Power.

The great battle he witnessed deep within the world’s origin, the white figure treading on galaxies, shattering stars with a mere gesture—what kind of being was that powerful being known as “Xuanhua”?

Did he truly perish in this Dark Abyss?

What secrets are hidden in the so-called place of his fall on the map?

These were also questions he wanted to know.

Moreover, after hearing Qiu Ruofeng’s words, Lu Qing recalled the mental tremor he had sensed not long ago.

Recalling how he deduced from that mental tremor that its source was the Black and White Observatory,

he vaguely felt that the calamity Qiu Ruofeng spoke of might also be related to the Black and White Observatory.

However, these thoughts only lingered in Lu Qing’s mind; he didn’t voice them.

After all, he had no trust in Qiu Ruofeng and his ilk.

Who knew what they might do at a crucial moment?

Fortunately, he had only sent a divine consciousness avatar.

Even if something unexpected happened and he perished in this Abyss, it would only be the loss of an avatar, having a negligible impact on his main body.

With this in mind, Lu Qing made a decision.

He looked at Qiu Ruofeng and slowly nodded, “Alright, I agree.”

Qiu Ruofeng’s face lit up with joy.

The black-robed men also breathed a sigh of relief, their eyes filled with excitement.

“Thank you, fellow Daoist!” Qiu Ruofeng quickly thanked him. “Rest assured, fellow Daoist, this journey is your priority. We will follow your orders. If we encounter danger, please act according to your own will and don’t worry about us.”

Lu Qing nodded and added, “However, I must clarify that I will only travel with this divine sense avatar. My main body has other important matters to attend to and will not come.” Qiu Ruofeng

waved his hands repeatedly, “No problem, no problem! This avatar of yours is even stronger than our true bodies; it’s enough!”

He wasn’t just flattering him.

When Lu Qing was angry just now, even these old monsters at the Dao Integration Realm felt their hearts tremble.

If they were to truly fight, even all of them combined probably wouldn’t be a match for this avatar.

With such a powerful figure accompanying them, the chances of success on this journey greatly increased.

Without further delay, the group set off immediately.

Leaving the floating rock suspended in the darkness, they once again entered the depths of the Demon Abyss.

Except for Lu Qing, Qiu Ruofeng and the others went in their main bodies.

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to explore the Demon Abyss using only their divine sense clones like Lu Qing.

Rather, with their strength, their divine sense clones simply couldn’t survive in the depths of the Demon Abyss.

The omnipresent dark power alone could annihilate their clones.

Only their main bodies could barely resist the corrosive power of darkness.

As soon as they left the area of the floating rock, the dense demonic energy surged back, like an invisible tide, surrounding them.

The surrounding darkness was so thick it was almost impenetrable, so dark that they couldn’t see their own hands in front of their faces. Only the spiritual energy emanating from their bodies illuminated an area of several feet in radius.

Lu Qing hovered in the darkness, quietly sensing everything around him.

This place was much deeper than when he had entered, and the concentration of demonic energy had at least doubled.

The corrosive force grew increasingly pronounced, relentlessly impacting the protective shields erected by their magical artifacts, emitting faint hissing sounds.

Lu Qing’s mind stirred, and his internal magical power circulated slightly, effectively isolating the demonic energy.

“Let’s go,” he said calmly, taking the lead and flying forward.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others quickly followed.

They traversed the endless darkness, surrounded by deathly silence, with only occasional spatial fluctuations reminding them that this was no ordinary place.

However, as they ventured deeper, the chaotic spatial laws rendered them completely disoriented.

They couldn’t even find the path they had come from.

Therefore, they could only closely follow Lu Qing; if they lost him here, their physical bodies would likely perish. Fortunately,

Lu Qing, as expected of a supreme expert who had achieved Dao Integration through the Great Dao of Space, seemed unaffected by the chaotic spatial rules.

Seeing Lu Qing flying forward without hesitation, Qiu Ruofeng and the others felt somewhat relieved.

After flying for about half an hour, a glimmer of light suddenly appeared ahead.

It was a ball of flame.

The flame hovered in the darkness, its color an eerie black, burning silently.

The black flame emitted a faint glow, illuminating an area of several feet around it, yet it offered no warmth, only a bone-chilling cold.

Lu Qing glanced at the flame, paying it no heed, and continued forward.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others, however, became more serious, quickly avoiding the flame, not daring to approach.

Lu Qing noticed their movements and asked, “Is this demonic flame dangerous?”

Qiu Ruofeng nodded, explaining, “This thing looks inconspicuous, but if it burns on the body, it can even ignite magic power.

Although we are not afraid, getting contaminated with it is still troublesome, requiring a considerable amount of magic power to remove. It’s best to avoid it if possible.”

“We encountered these demonic flames when we explored the outer reaches of the Demon Abyss, and they caused us quite a bit of trouble back then.”

Lu Qing nodded without asking further questions.

The group continued deeper into the abyss.

As they progressed, the demonic flames around them increased.

Some were only the size of a fist, hovering silently, while others were several meters in size, like burning clouds.

Some even clustered together, forming black seas of fire that completely blocked their path.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others, being experienced, led Lu Qing around the flames, avoiding most of them.

When they couldn’t avoid them, they worked together to create a protective barrier and forced their way through.

Lu Qing discovered that although these demonic flames were strange, they wouldn’t attack unless actively touched.

They simply burned silently, as if it had been so since time immemorial.

However, after flying for another half an hour, the situation began to change.

Suddenly, a strange noise came from ahead.

It was a series of low, hissing roars coming from the darkness, growing clearer as they approached.

Qiu Ruofeng’s expression changed, and he whispered, “Be careful, something’s coming!” “

The words had barely left his lips when several dark figures suddenly emerged from the darkness.

These figures varied in form; some resembled humans, some beasts, and some were completely indistinguishable.

Their bodies were composed entirely of black demonic flames, radiating a violent aura, their eyes devoid of any intelligence, filled only with pure bloodlust.

“Demonic fire monsters!” a figure in black robes exclaimed in shock, “So many!” Lu

Qing’s gaze swept across the group.

There were at least thirty monsters in this group.

Upon spotting them, they immediately pounced on them with astonishing speed.

Qiu Ruofeng snorted coldly and waved his hand.

A beam of dark light flew from his sleeve, instantly piercing through the monsters at the forefront.

The monsters let out a shrill roar, their bodies exploding into countless sparks that vanished into the darkness.

Nothing was left behind.

The black-robed figures also joined the fray.

They were clearly experienced, having spent a long time in this Demon Abyss, and knew how to deal with these monsters.

Various magical treasures flew out, engaging the monsters in battle, and in the blink of an eye, they had killed most of them.

Lu Qing still did not make a move.

He quietly watched the monsters, observing their every move.

Although these monsters looked ferocious, their attack methods were extremely simple; they only knew how to charge around recklessly, without any skill whatsoever.

They seemed to have no intelligence, killing purely on instinct.

Moreover, after being killed, they completely dissipated, leaving not a trace.

It was as if they had never existed.

“Where did these things come from?” “Lu Qing asked.

Qiu Ruofeng replied while killing the monsters, “I don’t know. Some say they are formed from demonic energy, others say they are the transformations of cultivators who perished here after being corrupted by demonic energy.

But no one can say for sure. Anyway, they are everywhere in this Demon Abyss, and you can’t kill them all.

There were quite a few on the outer edge of the Demon Abyss before, but we cleared them all out.”

Lu Qing nodded and didn’t ask any more questions.

Soon, the thirty-odd monsters were cleared out.

The group continued on their way.

But not long after, another group of monsters appeared.

This time there were even more, more than a hundred of them. They surged from all directions, surrounding the group and attacking them frantically.

The group attacked again.

This time, the monsters seemed even more ferocious, charging forward relentlessly without fear of death.

Several monsters broke through the defenses and rushed to a black-robed man, opening their mouths to bite.

The black-robed man roared, and the magic weapon in his hand shone brightly, blasting the monsters into pieces, but his body was also covered in demonic energy. A few wisps of demonic flame were hissing and burning.

The black-robed man’s expression changed, and he quickly circulated his magic power to force the wisps of demonic flame out of his body.

This delay allowed even more monsters to surge forward.

Lu Qing still didn’t make a move.

He was merely observing.

He noticed that although these monsters were numerous, their targets were extremely dispersed.

They didn’t seem to be specifically targeting any one person, but rather attacking anyone they saw without any strategy.

Moreover, no matter how many they killed, they wouldn’t retreat.

In this endless darkness, it seemed as if countless monsters were lurking, waiting for their prey.

“Speed up!” Qiu Ruofeng shouted, “Don’t linger!”

The group advanced while killing monsters.

The journey ahead became exceptionally difficult.

The demonic fire monsters seemed endless, impossible to kill completely.

Sometimes there were only a dozen, sometimes hundreds or thousands, wave after wave, keeping them constantly on the edge of their seats.

The black-robed men began to show signs of injury.

Although none were serious, the accumulated damage significantly weakened their aura.

Qiu Ruofeng’s expression grew increasingly grave.

“Something’s wrong.” “He said in a deep voice, “There are far more monsters today than usual. It’s like something is driving them away.”

A man in black robes said, “Could it be that the Black and White Temple is making some moves?”

Qiu Ruofeng shook his head: “I don’t know, but in any case, we have to speed up. If we continue like this, we’ll be worn down and die here before we reach our destination.”

Everyone gritted their teeth and sped forward.

Lu Qing still didn’t make a move.

He kept observing and sensing.

He could sense that although these monsters were ferocious, they had no intelligence and acted only on instinct.

Their appearance seemed to be related to some kind of pattern, not completely random.

But he needed more time to observe what that pattern was.

After flying for an unknown amount of time, some changes suddenly appeared in the darkness ahead.

The originally thick, impenetrable darkness began to thin out.

The concentration of demonic energy around them was also gradually decreasing.

The number of the surging demonic fire monsters began to decrease, and finally disappeared completely.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and stopped to recuperate.

“Finally out,” a black-robed man said, still shaken. “We encountered at least a thousand monsters along the way.”

“If it weren’t for Fellow Daoist Lu’s company, we probably wouldn’t have made it this far,” another black-robed man said, his gaze towards Lu Qing filled with gratitude.

Qiu Ruofeng also looked at Lu Qing, a hint of doubt in his eyes.

He noticed that Lu Qing hadn’t made a move the entire way, simply following them quietly.

But strangely, the monsters seemed to intentionally or unintentionally avoid him, not one of them attacking him.

“Fellow Daoist is indeed extraordinary,” Qiu Ruofeng remarked. “Those monsters didn’t dare get close.”

Lu Qing smiled faintly, offering no explanation.

After resting for a moment, the group continued onward.

The darkness ahead gradually faded, until finally a faint, gray light appeared.

The light was weak and eerie, yet it stood out starkly in the endless darkness.

The group quickened their pace, flying towards the light.

Finally, as they passed through the last layer of darkness, the sight before them made everyone involuntarily stop.

Ahead lay a massive mountain range.

The range was entirely black, stretching endlessly into the darkness.

There was no vegetation on it, only jagged rocks and ubiquitous black demonic flames.

These flames burned across the mountain, illuminating it like a ghostly realm.

Deep within the mountain range, a colossal building was faintly visible.

Half-hidden in the demonic flames, the building was entirely black, exuding an ancient and desolate aura.

Its shape resembled both a palace and a tomb, making it difficult to discern clearly.

“We’ve arrived,” Qiu Ruofeng said, his voice tinged with excitement as he gazed at the building. “That’s the place where the Xuanhua Grandmaster fell.”

Lu Qing stared silently at the building, his gaze profound.

He could sense an extremely powerful aura hidden within it.

That aura was ancient and timeless, seemingly existing for countless ages, yet it also gave off an inexplicable sense of oppression.

“Let’s go,” he said calmly, and flew towards the mountain range first.

The others quickly followed.
