[Extra 51. Dawn of the End of the World (7)]

Because, Joyner saw a road leading to a dark place underground. It looked like a culvert from the outside. There were no houses around it, which meant that it was uninhabited. There were only some miscellaneous waste materials piled randomly on both sides of the passage entrance.

The road surface is wide and smooth, and looks like it has been abandoned for a long time. Joyner estimated that if she drove inside, she would be able to find a place to hide the car.

Generally speaking, this kind of tunnels will connect the underground of other building complexes, most of which are complex structures with more than three floors. This kind of building was very common in pre-civilization times. So Joyner immediately drove to the middle of the two buildings, where the passageway snaked downwards.

Sure enough, Joyner was right. The road here was winding and winding. Although there were a few landslides, it did not cause much impact. It was obviously the entrance to an underground building that had been abandoned for many years.

There were not many obstacles blocking the passage of vehicles along the way. Joyner easily found an excellent hiding place and stopped the car.

To Joyner’s surprise, she discovered a secret at the bottom of the road – it was originally an extremely huge parking lot. There are countless old vehicles in the parking lot. It is estimated that there are thousands of vehicles, all abandoned on the spot.

Most of the car’s outer shell retained its original shape, but the interior was in a state of decay, with some even to the point that it would fall apart if touched.

This scene was so shocking that even after Joyner stopped the car, she stared straight ahead, her heart racing with excitement.

Joyner felt that the current Hidden Sand Castle was at best a settlement camp built on an abandoned old city, a place for travelers and homeless people to rest. In comparison, my previous expectations for Hidden Sand Castle were so high that now there was a huge gap in my heart.

This world will not be reborn. Perhaps, this is the reality she will have to face from now on.

Joyner thought that most of the vehicles modified by the thugs might have been found here. In many places, she saw traces of heavy objects being dragged. Some cars were damaged beyond recognition, with parts apparently removed from their bodies.

In addition, this space is filled with standing water, but there is still plenty of dry ground to be found.

Joyner jumped out of the car, went to the back of the truck, pulled down the iron mesh behind the truck with a clang, and threw it aside.

“Okay, this is the place, you all get off the car.” Joyner whispered to those people.

These refugees were huddled in the corner, still in shock. After all, they have experienced many unimaginable hardships along the way, so it is understandable that they are now as sensitive as a frightened rabbit.

But at Joyner’s urging, they had to go outside one after another.

This place is dark, cold and damp, and there is always a dark wind blowing from a certain direction.

These refugees have been fleeing for their lives on the road, bumping around in the car, and finally they can put their feet on the ground after arriving at Hidden Sand Castle.

The refugees are extremely fearful of the coming threats. Some timid guys’ legs began to tremble and they kept mumbling.

“Don’t be afraid, it’s safe here and there’s no one else there.” Joyner explained calmly. “You must learn to control fear instead of letting fear control you.”

“Find a dry place to stay first and wait for me to come back.”

Everyone was still afraid and looked at Joyner helplessly. No one moved.

Joyner frowned, picked up an iron rod and hit the truck, making a loud clanking noise. The huge sound echoed throughout the space, seeming to wake these people up, and Joyner used this to verify her statement.

“Did you all hear that? There is no one here, and there will be no pursuers.”

Everyone looked at each other and said nothing.

“Believe me, those thugs will never find this place,” Joyner assured everyone and said in a deep voice again. “You are already standing on the land of Hidden Sand Castle. When I find a safer place, you will be completely free and you can live here forever.”

Joyner has always maintained an optimistic attitude towards this idea.

In the crowd, the old man suddenly stood up and asked, “So, where are you going now?”

Where am I going?

⒏BοOk. СOm

Joyner instantly understood that everyone was worried that she would leave them, or that she would never come back again.

She stared into the old man’s eyes for a long time before shaking her head and saying, “I don’t know where to go. It’s almost dawn outside. I want to find a place to sell the snake meat first, exchange it for money, and then buy some other things.” “

But it’s impossible for us to survive in the city like this. If we are discovered, I’m afraid…” the old man shook his head.

“Stop talking, how will you know if you don’t try? Everything is possible!”

The old man was interrupted by Joyner before he finished speaking. She said indifferently, “I promised you that I will keep my word. For To find a better shelter, I have to go to the city and maybe help you find some food, or a place to live, or see where the refugees can be taken.”

“But the risk is too great, if you are pursued .

People, where should we hide?” said a refugee nearby.

“Have you ever thought about what we should do in the future?”

“He’s right. If we don’t want to be seen by others, can we just hide underground and live like mice?”

“I know you are very capable. One person can kill several people, but how are we going to face those people when you are not around?”

“Yes, we are not residents of the city at all. If we live in an ignoble way, we will be discovered sooner or later.”

” And even if we can escape for a while, we can’t escape for a lifetime.”

Everyone started talking, as if one person started talking, and everyone else started talking.

Joyner didn’t expect these people to think this way, but from their perspective, these words made sense, and she began to have difficulties.

Phew——

“Then what do you want? Become slaves?” Joyner asked coldly.

Joyner didn’t expect these people to trust her, but she had made a promise to these people before, and she must let them live freely in Hidden Sand Castle.

The reason why she did this seemed to be to prove that she could keep her promise, even to the point of becoming an enemy of the world.

However, Joyner’s idea was just wishful thinking after all. She didn’t understand that to survive in this era, the most unnecessary and unreliable thing is a promise.

“Who knows… maybe only by being slaves can we truly survive.”

A refugee whispered.

“Sooner or later we will starve to death, no one will feed us.”

“If we hide in the mountains, we might be able to reclaim a piece of land and grow our own food. But I think once we are caught…”

“We need to survive, now To find another way out.”

Everyone murmured and discussed, but no one had a clear goal.

Joyner stood aside and watched with cold eyes, feeling very uncomfortable in her heart.

He had gone to great lengths to bring them to this Hidden Sand Castle. However, these people did not have the courage to create a new situation and only wanted to live like dogs.
