Chapter 924 Obtaining the Star-Ring Level Magical Plant: Sky-Piercing Jujube! Encountering the Wizard of Truth

After a series of earthquakes of varying sizes, the Supernatural Purgatory, which had just encountered the Wizard of Truth, gradually stabilized and no longer showed signs of collapse. Locke looked down towards the direction of the Inheritance Wizard Array and saw that the Supernatural Purgatory within it was only the size of a palm, as if it could be held in the hand of an infant, and its shape resembled a crystal lotus flower.

Currently, due to the unstable energy fluctuations within the Supernatural Purgatory, it continuously emitted strange, seven-colored light.

That light was produced by the constant collision of magical energy fluctuations within the purgatory.

Wizard Fisher, with a dark face, looked at Locke and said, “Mr. Augustine, you can leave now. Don’t go into the Supernatural Purgatory again.”

After saying this, Wizard Fisher ignored Locke and went directly into the castle of the Longevity Peach Garden to find the maintenance administrators of the Supernatural Purgatory, ordering them to immediately enter and inspect the current state of this wizard’s secret realm.

This supernatural purgatory houses over two hundred projects, large and small, related to the Senate; it’s practically the Senate’s lifeblood. Therefore, he still needs to explain the current situation to the various research groups and check for any losses.

Wizard Fischer’s face was grim. If it weren’t for the Fischer family being involved, he would have demanded compensation from Locke for the supernatural purgatory.

However, it was the Fischer family who granted Locke unauthorized access to the supernatural purgatory, so he could only pretend it was an accident.

Wizard Fischer entered the Peach Garden. He had already prepared his explanation. After all, the supernatural purgatory was a wizarding secret realm at the Sun Ring level; how could it be on the verge of collapse because of a mere ordinary second-ring wizard? That would be too fragile.

The only explanation was that the supernatural purgatory had an internal bug.

Wizard Fischer nodded. That’s right, then everything wouldn’t be blamed on his family.

However, the problem wasn’t actually that big; there was a high probability of no losses. All the related experiments conducted in the supernatural purgatory were rather crude to begin with.

After all, that place wasn’t exactly peaceful; it was constantly embroiled in battle.

Locke watched the wizard Fisher enter the Peach Garden and rubbed his nose.

Well, it seemed Fisher had blacklisted him from the Peach Garden. Judging from the wizard’s tone, he might be kicked out even if he stepped through the gates again.

Wizard Antoine looked at Locke and said, “It seems you’ve gained something in the Supernatural Purgatory. Congratulations. I don’t know how you managed to get anything in that hellish place.”

Locke looked at Antoine and said, “Thank you this time, Antoine.”

Antoine said, “You’re welcome. It was just a small favor.”

Locke said, “By the way, about the Double Clone Potion you asked me about last time, that potion is too difficult to make; I don’t know how to make it yet. Would the Teleportation Potion work?”

Locke briefly explained the Teleportation Potion.

Antoine’s eyes lit up immediately. He said to Locke, “Of course, and it’ll be even more effective. We’re entering an area within the ruins of that world that emits special fluctuations, where powerful magical beasts from other worlds reside. Those beasts can become invisible and are filled with aggression. But I’ve observed them; their method of observation seems to rely on a special spiritual sense, so even if their gaze isn’t locked onto an enemy, they can still know the enemy’s exact location.”

“Perhaps we can indeed use the Spirit Avatar to deceive them. How much do you want?”

Antoine checked the market price for the Displacement potion and gasped.

“Five million magic stones a bottle? Last time I paid five hundred magic crystal cards and bought eight bottles of second-level potions! Hiss~ This is a special potion that can only be sold in the Xiangshan Islands.”

Antoine looked at Locke in confusion, wondering why Locke would concoct such a potion.

Locke paused for a moment, then realized that Antoine was mistaking the eight Name Potions he had concocted for him last time for eight Second-Order Potions. Only an amateur like him would mistake a Name Potion for a Shifting Potion of the same level.

Locke didn’t elaborate on how he had connected with the Sea Queen’s Throne through the Feathered Serpent Pavilion, as he still didn’t understand who the mysterious wizarding organization was or why they were giving Dragonblood Potions Masters such special treatment.

Locke said, “Those are Second-Order Potions concocted by Throne Wizards, so there’s a premium. I certainly couldn’t charge that much. That wouldn’t make sense.”

“People who buy Potions Masters’ potions are after the perfect crafting techniques and the extra boost from those techniques,”

Antoine nodded.

“Sometimes the difference between things is just a tiny bit,”

Locke said. “I’m not a master potion maker, so just give me one million magic stones based on market price and current market value.”

Locke continued, “However, considering how much you’ve helped me this time, as long as you prepare the materials yourself, I’ll refine it for you and only charge you five hundred thousand magic stones as a service fee.”

Locke said calmly. He felt his price was reasonable.

After all, theoretically, he could set any price he wanted, and sell it for whatever price he wanted as long as it sold.

But ultimately, the price he set only had meaning if someone bought it.

Otherwise, it was just self-indulgence.

If he really tried to rob Antoine at five million magic stones a bottle, although he was confident he could probably get it, it would be like offending Antoine, turning it into a one-off deal, and Antoine would probably turn against him in the future.

Antoine nodded, clearly agreeing that Locke’s price was extremely fair.

“Alright, I’ve prepared the materials, and I’ll ask you to help me refine it,”

Locke said. “The materials are the same as for the Doppelganger Potion. Only one more ingredient: Golden Horned Cicada Spirit Macro. By the way, Antoine, if you need me to refine it soon, you’d better hurry, because I’m likely to be using most of my spiritual awareness for other things.”

Locke looked at Antoine and said, “I’m likely to be unable to focus on refining any potions for a considerable period.”

Antoine’s pupils constricted slightly; he clearly understood Locke’s meaning.

“It seems you’ve gained a great deal in the Supernatural Purgatory,”

Locke said. “Indeed. I found the most difficult piece of the puzzle I was applying for special funding in the Supernatural Purgatory.”

He had solved two major mysteries.

The first was the mystery of Maxwell’s wizardry.

The second was the mystery of the historical war five hundred years ago.

Antoine’s mood turned slightly somber. “Unfortunately, my progress is still far from complete. However, if I make a breakthrough discovery, this top-tier grant will go directly to me. Even the future development of Golden Crown Mountain will be changed by my application.”

Locke waved goodbye.

“Good luck. I hope you achieve your goal.”

“If you succeed, I wouldn’t mind waiting another year.”

Antoine looked at Locke, his eyes filled with seriousness.

“Locke, if you can produce a project application that truly convinces me, I wouldn’t mind waiting another year.”

Locke looked at Antoine and said, “If you wait another year, you’ll be in trouble. Because next year, a very capable wizard will join the competition.”

Antoine frowned immediately. “Who?”

Locke asked, “My roommate Daniel.”

A look of doubt appeared in Antoine’s eyes.

“Never heard of him, or rather, I have no recollection of him. If I have no recollection of him, then it means I previously thought he wasn’t worth remembering. I understand. Since this is your recommendation, I’ll keep a close eye on him in the future.”

“I still have a few cronies in the deacon group. Looks like I’ll have to have someone keep an eye on him.”

Locke waved his hand and walked away.

He summoned the cloud whale, having switched back his mount with Daniel half a month ago. Now, he stood on the cloud whale’s back, quickly heading towards the summit of Mount Golden Crown.

‘I used the Historical Recreation spell model to record the location information of the world where Maxwell the wizard and the werewolf king originally resided. According to the results I deciphered using the Summon Tomb Spirit, that plane’s location is undoubtedly at the summit of Mount Golden Crown…’

Locke’s expression was serious. The reason he hadn’t told anyone after leaving the Supernatural Purgatory was because he suspected that Mount Golden Crown’s history was too long; even the current wizards of Mount Golden Crown might not fully understand this military fortress built tens of thousands of years ago during the Pureblood Era, with the goal of using a single mountain to oppose an entire civilization.

Maxwell, having lurked in Golden Crown Mountain for so many years and being a genius archaeological wizard, must have discovered this secret.

At the summit of Golden Crown Mountain, the sun, like a great radiant wheel, hung behind the peaks.

The clouds resembled cloud fish in the sky.

Sunlight and cloud fish flew together, mountains and sky merging into one color.

Locke gazed at the magnificent summit; a magnificent divine light shot from the main peak of Golden Crown Mountain into the sky, forming a pillar of light that hung there.

Locke felt a heavy pressure on his shoulders.

The cloud whale beneath his feet let out a muffled roar, then was forced to descend, landing somewhere on the mountainside.

Clearly, flight was prohibited ahead.

He could only walk.

Locke jumped to the ground. The scenery of Golden Crown Mountain was beautiful here; wild grasses and flowers were enveloped in the magical glow emanating from the celestial fire extracted by the celestial magic array. At the same time, in this location, a flickering flame could appear at any moment.

Fireballs the size of soybeans rolled across Locke’s wizard robes.

He remained calm; this was a unique attraction of Golden Crown Mountain, a 5A-level scenic area—the Flowing Fireballs. Due to the inherited magic array that extracts celestial fire energy, the closer one gets to the summit, the more fire magic constantly dissipates from the air.

This fire magic, striking the wizard’s robes, forms fireballs resembling rolling fire beads.

This is known as the Flowing Fireball phenomenon.

Locke’s figure moved like a discontinuous ink painting, appearing and disappearing along the mountain path, the effects of the Teleportation potion still lingering.

This ability had already materialized into his own dimension.

However, it was still rootless, and would eventually dissipate over time. For now, it had become a superpower he seemed to possess innately, so its activation speed even surpassed that of ordinary spell models.

Its activation speed was close to that of the Mind School of magic,

because Mind School magic also produces abilities similar to innate superpowers.

Beside a road leading to the mountaintop, Locke saw ancient ruins amidst the weeds. Among these apprentice-level and even first-ring magical plants, he found many ancient weapons that had become one with the earth, especially helmets seemingly embedded in stone, fused with it, and greatswords stuck in the ground. As

Locke walked along a mountain path, he saw a whip resembling a spine among a clump of first-ring wild magical plants, inscribed with ancient magical runes.

‘Closer. The dimensional coordinates I obtained from the historical reenactment are roughly here,’ Locke mused. ‘However, since it’s a location locked through many layers, I can’t improve the precision further. But it should be nearby; I can look for it. Hmm? There are magical runes on this weapon.’ ‘

This is…’

Locke couldn’t understand the runes at all, but after reading them once, he was forced to recall the line of text.

“This is the spine of Holmes, the Golden Dragon. My friend fought to the last moment in the war. Amidst the relentless onslaught of the Pureblood Order, it died at the hands of a Storm Mage. It entrusted its dragon bones to me, and I used a magical artifact crafted from those bones to fight to the very end.”

“Before dying, I couldn’t help but imagine a sanctuary, a world where all wizards, regardless of race or origin, study in the same academy. The only difference between them is their talent and ability. No need for daily battles, no forced witnessing the departure of everyone they know; they only need to study. But will this long Pureblood era truly ever end?”

“Future generations, this is the burial place of a True Wizard. Please do not destroy it; leave me one last place to rest.”

Locke was deeply moved.

“We’re very close to the summit. The summit is the location of the Golden Crown Mountain’s inherited magic array—the array that transforms celestial fire—the core of Golden Crown Mountain. Did the Pureblood Order reach this place and kill a True Wizard of Golden Crown Mountain here?”

Horrible.

Just how devastating was the war during the Pureblood era?

In that era, wizards with mixed blood like himself were not qualified to learn magic, and those who did would be hunted down.

An old man suddenly appeared behind Locke, dressed in wizard robes and wearing a classic wizard’s hat.

“You can read the text above? That makes sense; your bloodline should allow you to read the golden dragon script. This Truth Wizard is a Bloodline Wizard, with significant achievements in bloodline studies.”

“Do you know the famous bloodline experiment—the [White Dragon Berserk Mechanism]?”

Locke turned to the old man, blinking.

“Greetings, Dean Gaia.”

This wizard was none other than the Truth Wizard of Golden Crown Mountain, one of the high-ring wizards behind the academic committee of his faction.

Locke quickly checked the experiment’s information and discovered that it was the source of the principles behind a series of Berserk, Boiling, and Frenzied spells. The specific details were hidden because he was searching in the free library, and because it involved the knowledge of high-ring wizards, he doubted he could find the information clearly even in a paid library.

Dean Gaia bowed to the weapon.

Seeing the Wizard of Truth bow, Locke followed suit.

Dean Gaia said in a deep voice, “The White Dragon’s rampage mechanism proves that the bloodline essence of magical creatures naturally possesses a tendency for magical pressure to expand, and they crave to enhance their bloodline power by consuming certain substances.”

“Alright. You can go up now. This is a closed area of the academy; normally, you can’t go up without an application. However, it might not be bad for you young people to occasionally walk this path that bears so many historical remnants.”

“You people have all forgotten this history.”

“You don’t know what those people did back then. The pure-blood era is getting further and further away from now, and even if some people occasionally try to imitate their methods, they are ultimately just imitating. You don’t know the bloodshed and horror of that history.”

“You new generation are really lucky.”

Dean Gaia gazed into the distance and said, “Exploring the limits of truth and nurturing you newcomers is the duty and honor of us old folks.”

Locke bowed to him.

Dean Gaia suddenly turned to Locke and said, “Locke, this era belongs to us, not you. Do you understand?”

Locke looked at him in confusion.

Did this mean that the current era of the wizarding world was still controlled by them, and that they, the young wizards, were not yet capable of making a difference?

Dean Gaia suddenly laughed.

“If one day in the future you can reach my position, if that day ever comes, you will understand what I mean now. Alright, go.”

“I’m really getting old. In a moment of sentimentality, I actually said so many useless things to a young wizard.”

Locke bowed to him again and then quickly left.

This Wizard of Truth was simply too far removed from him, to the point that he couldn’t understand what the other meant.

He couldn’t understand it at all.

Locke even suspected that he had completely misunderstood what this Wizard of Truth had told him.

This was because the difference in their magical levels was too great.

Locke searched around and finally found a rock wall covered with murals.

Locke stood before the rock face, his pupils suddenly shrinking, for the painting on the rock face depicted the world he had seen in the historical reenactment spell model of the Demon King Werewolf.

It was a world like a small island.

It was inhabited by many werewolves.

That was right…

that entire world was merely a mural on a rock face atop this mountain.

That world was just a mural.

The Demon King Werewolf was merely a figure within that mural.

Locke swallowed hard, staring at the painting.

“What level of wizard could have accomplished this?”

He looked at the lower right corner of the mural, where an anonymous signature was visible.

Locke’s hand traced the mural.

“A painting is a world in itself. It must have been left here by an extremely powerful magic painter.”

“The painting is full of werewolves, not a single human. If this was left from the pure-blood era, then the magic painter who left this painting must have been a wizard of another race. This painting is likely an expression of his rejection of human wizards. That wouldn’t have been unusual in that era.”

“So Maxwell discovered this, entered the painting, conducted an archaeological sociological experiment within it, and brought the results out, causing the werewolf’s soul fragments to enter the Senate’s supernatural purgatory after his death.”

Though convoluted, this is likely the truth behind what happened in the past.

Locke looked at the center of the mural, where a towering pillar stood. Upon closer inspection, he noticed several tiny roots painted at the base of the pillar, indicating it was a magical plant.

The top of the pillar depicted several barely visible, tiny leaves.

Locke gasped. Could the Wizard of Truth really do this?

He wasn’t even sure.

Locke hesitated for a moment, then placed his hand on the mural. The next moment, the entire mural seemed to come alive.

He had no idea how to enter the mural’s world. If it were so easy, the wizards of Golden Crown Mountain would have already noticed the anomaly, instead of assuming it was just an ordinary magical painting. He

simply didn’t know why, upon touching the painting, it came to life and generated a suction force.

The next moment, Locke entered this world.

He flew above it and found the central pillar.

“Could it be that the entry condition is having seen this world before? Or something like that?”

Locke understood that he must have met some kind of entry condition, which was why he could enter the small world of the mural as soon as he touched it.

The most likely explanation was that the entry condition was having been to this small world before, thus granting him the right to enter.

Although it seemed absurd, it could explain how the wizard Maxwell entered this world.

Locke looked at the pillar-like, rod-shaped magical plant before him.

“This is a Star Ring level magical plant…”

“The Imaginary Root is also very high-level, not the most ordinary Imaginary Root.”

“Is this a Sky-Supporting Jujube?”

Locke used the Great Roaring Dragon Sparrow to fly to the top of this magical plant and saw a few jujubes and leaves on the relatively thin branches, along with thorns.

Locke picked a jujube and took a bite.

“Hmm, no taste at all, like a blank space. That’s it, this is a Sky-Supporting Jujube.”

Locke quickly ate the jujube.

That’s right.

The Heavenly Jujube has no taste, no energy, and is utterly deceptive. It’s also incredibly difficult to digest; eating it daily will result in constant hunger despite feeling full, eventually leading to starvation.

The Heavenly Jujube possesses immense weight, can change size at will, and is a top-tier weapon-type magical plant. It seems to have originated from a laboratory and later fell into the endless void, becoming a wild magical plant.

The Heavenly Jujube is also a key ingredient in the second-level magical potion, the Gluttonous Potion.

Only by extracting its essence can the Gluttonous Potion be concocted.
