Chapter 913 The Secret Treasure Beneath the Black Hole and the Witch’s Peach

The main cave of Golden Crown Mountain, [Cloud Top Cave], is located halfway up the mountain. Ascending the stone steps along the mountain path, numerous tree-men guard the entrance, as this cave leads directly into the interior of Golden Crown Mountain.

Locke led Douglas into a cave, and immediately, magical candles along the path lit up, illuminating the way.

The interior of Golden Crown Mountain is an environment resembling an underground city. This entire mountain was originally formed during the pure-blood era as a super fortress to resist the potential extermination of the entire wizarding world.

Golden Crown Mountain excels in efficient agriculture, designed to ensure self-sufficiency in food during the most dangerous times and to survive independently even amidst global crises.

Along the way, the two saw many labyrinthine underground warehouses within

Golden Crown Mountain. Even now, many of these warehouse areas remain unexplored, and some pose a certain degree of danger.

Locke led Douglas down the stone steps to the foot of Mount Golden Crown, arriving at the lowest level of the corridor. After passing through this corridor, illuminated only by automatically lit magical candles, they reached a stone chamber.

Standing at the entrance was an old, hunched-over Moon Ring Wizard. His hair was white, his eyes blind, except for a magical eye in each hand. He also possessed dragon-like features, with a prominent dragon scale and half a dragon horn on his face.

He raised his hands and looked at the warrant Locke showed him—a warrant from the Wizard of Trajan, bearing the seal of Catherine the Witch’s office, signifying the approval of the Academic Committee, one of the three giants of Mount Golden Crown.

“Young man, you have a bright future ahead of you. Why come to the Black Hole Peach Garden, the least promising of the twelve magical peaches of Mount Golden Crown?”

“This is the dumping ground of Mount Golden Crown,”

the old Moon Ring Wizard said, his words not moving, but transmitted simultaneously to Locke and Douglas.

Locke gave Douglas a reassuring look. He had secured a half-day guard post at the Black Hole Peach Orchard from the wizard Trajan.

In truth, the Black Hole Peach Orchard itself didn’t need any protection. An overly powerful wizard couldn’t possibly enter the Black Hole Peach Orchard unnoticed after entering Golden Crown Mountain. A

weak wizard, on the other hand, would be severely affected by the magical pressure alone if they approached.

For a typical second-ring wizard, unless they were a sun-ring wizard, approaching the Black Hole Peach Orchard wouldn’t have any effect.

That’s why he had obtained the position so easily from Trajan.

The guard post at the Black Hole Peach Orchard was simply to prevent careless wizards from getting close.

Moreover, it was a retirement position.

Golden Crown Mountain had numerous special positions reserved for older, contributing members of society, allowing them to stay out of the cutthroat competition as long as they didn’t try to work hard and risk losing their positions.

Locke said, “Senior, thank you for your hard work at Golden Crown Mountain. We all stand on the shoulders of you predecessors to go further.”

The old Moon Ring Wizard paused for a moment, then a smile appeared on his lips. Using telekinesis—a type of magic from the Mind School—he spoke in Locke and Douglas’s minds, “Among today’s young people, it’s rare to find a wizard as polite as you.”

“Those young wizards always think we’re just wasting our time at Golden Crown Mountain, without considering who created this environment for them.”

“I have no objection to you going in, but this person is problematic.”

The old Moon Ring Wizard raised his hands, his eyes fixed on Douglas.

“This person’s spiritual light is impure.”

Douglas froze instantly.

The old Moon Ring Wizard said, “He cannot enter.”

Douglas looked at Locke with some panic.

Locke’s expression remained unchanged.

“Hmm, I know his spiritual light is somewhat impure. He’s a member of my group, and I had him do some experiments related to the dead, so his soul is tainted with a bit of death energy.”

The old Moon Ring Wizard frowned. “Young researcher, I am a wizard of the Mind School. I am most skilled at sensing the spiritual light of others—his, and yours. No one can lie to me.”

The old Moon Ring Wizard’s eyes, hidden within his hands, were fixed on Locke.

Locke remained calm; he could sense that the other was scanning his mind with telekinesis.

The Mind School’s telekinetic abilities were more inclined towards physical damage than mental perception. Furthermore, as a potion master, he had casually concocted a name potion using his own name before arriving here and then drunk it.

In other words, he was now essentially wearing the skin of his former self.

What the other could sense was his previous spiritual light.

The old Moon Ring Wizard raised his hands, the eyes within them meeting Locke’s gaze.

A minute later, the old wizard suddenly chuckled softly.

“Heh…”

“Enough. The younger generation surpasses the older. I’m old; it’s your time now, young people.”

“Since you know him so well, come in. Young second-ring potion master.”

The old moon-ring wizard pointed out Locke’s trickery.

A playful glint appeared in the pupil of his palm.

He was certain Locke was hiding something from him, and through his extensive experience, he had seen through Locke’s deception, but he hadn’t actually caught anything.

Moreover, through telekinesis, he had sensed Locke’s general condition and found him to be a decent person. Furthermore, as a confidant of the Red Dragon Throne and carrying Trajan’s decree representing the Academic Committee, this Peach Garden garrison commander gave Locke face, allowing him to pass with Douglas.

The old moon-ring wizard, hunched over, stepped aside.

He coughed, “I’ll be back in half a day. I’m old; I don’t want to lose such an easy job. Goodbye, young potion master.”

Locke nodded slightly.

Then, using the set of magical keys Trajan had given him, he opened the door to the Black Hole Peach Chamber. Douglas said to Locke, “Young Master, I…”

Locke interrupted, “No need to say more.”

“I know you’ve had some extraordinary experiences. Every wizard who comes to Mount Golden Crown has had some. After spending so many days together, both the Throne and I believe in you.”

A flicker of emotion crossed Douglas’s eyes; he felt a warmth completely different from what his previous dark wizarding organization had given him.

Locke said, “Let’s go.”

Locke pushed open the door to the Black Hole Wizard Chamber, and a burst of turbid air immediately erupted from it. Locke frowned, and the power of the Mysteries formed a pale green, naturally circulating force field around him, protecting him.

At the same time, Douglas’s Five Elements Reversal Defense Field appeared, forcibly dissolving the turbid air and preventing it from corrupting the wizard’s soul.

The two passed through the door of the Black Hole Wizard Chamber. Initially, it was rather narrow, but after passing through, they found that behind the door was a room as vast as a valley.

A gigantic Black Hole Wizard Peach appeared before them.

This peach tree had branches as large as the universe, each leaf like a star in the cosmos, each leaf like a speck of starlight in the darkness, radiating endless charm.

The tree was incredibly large; the two of them seemed like tiny black dots in its presence.

For a moment, their gazes were completely captivated by this magical plant, unable to look away.

But Locke quickly reacted, snapping his fingers beside Douglas’s ear, instantly waking him up.

Douglas apologized to Locke, saying, “Boss, I’m sorry.”

Locke replied, “It’s alright. The magical power of the Black Hole Peach is too strong, and its magical pressure far exceeds ours, making it exceptionally attractive to us. Douglas, we can’t stay here for long, especially you. Staying here for too long could cause permanent energy pollution to your soul.”

“I’m asking you, where is the treasure you speak of?”

Douglas pulled a necklace with a beast’s claw attached to it from his neck. “This is a token. Inserting this token into the soil at the roots of that tree will activate the hidden magic within. If that magic still works.”

“But once opened, a second-circle creature will guard it. So only a second-circle wizard can enter.”

Locke frowned.

“Without special authorization, even a throne wizard from the outside world can’t get here. Douglas, the location of your treasure is truly remote.”

Douglas’s face flushed slightly.

Locke took the beast’s claw necklace and approached the Black Hole Peach. Instantly, wisps of turbid energy surged towards him like waves, the special energy gathered at the roots of the Black Hole Peach.

This wasn’t an attack on a wizard, nor a defense, but simply a phenomenon caused by the normal life activity of its roots—its respiration.

“I’ve heard that the Black Hole Peach is the true library of Golden Crown Mountain, but I don’t know if it’s true or not.”

Locke withstood the impact of the turbid air, his permanent defensive field extending to block its attack.

He approached the earthen ball at the base of the Black Hole Peach.

The earthen ball at the base of the Black Hole Peach seemed to be the size of a continent.

Locke suspected that this space had been enchanted by some kind of spatial expansion magic from a school of sorcery, in any case,

the Black Hole Peach was enormous. He reached out, wanting to get closer to the roots of the Black Hole Peach, but the next moment, some root-like roots on the earthen ball attacked Locke, whipping him like whips.

Douglas was startled.

This Black Hole Peach was either a third-circle or fourth-circle magical plant!

If these roots were to strike Locke, he could be severely injured.

But the next moment, Locke grabbed one of the roots directly into his hand.

Douglas’s eyes widened in astonishment.

Locke slammed his hand down, instantly shattering the root-like plant.

He looked at Douglas and said, “Don’t be alarmed. These aren’t the roots of the Black Hole Peach, but rather a type of parasitic magical plant called ‘Bamboo Root Vine,’ which attaches itself to the roots of more powerful tree-like magical plants, mimicking their roots to survive.”

“They probably attacked me earlier because they mistook me for a weeder.”

At that moment, countless withered, yellowish, root-like vines appeared on the earthen sphere, lashing at him. Locke took out a Golden Wheat stalk, and with a single whip, countless Bamboo Root Vines were instantly severed in half.

Then, Locke shook the Golden Wheat, which transformed into a golden whip, lashing out countless times in an instant, shattering the Bamboo Root Vines into fragments that fell to the ground.

Douglas shielded his eyes with his right hand, as Locke’s magical pressure created a fierce wind that blinded him.

“Wow…that’s amazing. I wish I could have a day like that.”

The Witch-King Lagmamon whispered in his mind, “A second-circle wizard shouldn’t be your end. My plan for you is that you should at least become a third-circle wizard.”

Douglas thought to himself, “A third-circle wizard? Me? It’s unimaginable.”

Locke put away the golden wheat and then inserted the token necklace into the earthen sphere.

At first, nothing happened.

Locke looked at Douglas strangely, and the next moment, two beams of magical light suddenly flew out from the cracks in the earthen sphere.

‘It actually worked.’ Locke thought, ‘After so long, that magic is still effective. What’s the principle behind it?’

The next moment, the two figures disappeared.

When the two observed their environment again, Locke and Douglas saw a dark, damp world filled with rain.

Locke immediately realized that the so-called secret treasure of the ancient witch king and wizard was simply using an entire world as his treasure trove, and this location was the entrance to that plane’s portal.

For some unknown reason, the creators of Golden Crown Mountain chose this area as the planting ground for Black Hole Peaches and built Golden Crown Mountain, a military fortress, here.

Douglas seemed very excited, pointing in a direction within this dark world, saying, “Right there, the treasure is sealed inside that stone tablet. The tablet itself is a spellbook.”

“There should be a second-circle guardian here.”

Locke closed his eyes, sensing the magical pressure of the entire world.

“Don’t even think about it. Where can a second-circle creature live that long? Besides, this world has already been captured by the Dark World.”

“There aren’t even many mortals here.” “

The whole world is deathly silent.”

Douglas froze.

At this moment, the Witch King Lagmamon whispered in his mind: ‘I was wrong before. Indeed, so much time has passed. Maintaining this ruin is indeed not easy.’

‘Then hurry to that stone tablet and obtain the magical knowledge to compensate for your elemental imbalance; this is the most important thing for you.’

Locke’s expression changed slightly.

Because a familiar magical pressure descended.

It was the Dark Great Evil King of the Dark World!

The voice of the Dark Lord echoed.

“Wizards, how dare you trespass into my territory!”

“Give me your names!”

A pressure of Sun Ring level magic crushed down upon him, and Locke’s expression changed drastically.

He felt trapped no matter where he tried to escape.

It was a hopeless situation created by sheer power.

Locke hadn’t expected that the world corresponding to this wizard’s treasure had long been captured by the Dark World and fallen into darkness. He certainly hadn’t expected to step into the territory of the Dark Lord of the Dark World.

Oh no!

Locke immediately realized that once he handed over his name to the Dark Lord, he and Douglas would be imprisoned here for eternity.

The Wizard King within Douglas’s mind also realized this.

“Douglas is an old friend of the Dark World. You must leave with Locke immediately.”

“He hasn’t gotten close yet, so he’s only transmitted Sun Ring level power. His true form possesses power corresponding to the Third Ring level!”
