Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems - Chapter 891
Chapter 886 Parallel History Curse and the Historical Diamond
Ancestral Master emerged from the darkness, his expression somewhat helpless. “Back then, I placed the secret of creation into the Historical Reappearance Curse left to you by your special avatar, and also left the Historical Stripping Curse within it, intending to compensate you and not wanting to see you.”
“But I didn’t expect you to still come to me yourself.”
The Ancestral Master was no longer a boy, but a young man, his eyes radiating a spirited energy, a quality absent from the melancholy young Ancestral Master of the past.
“I have two questions for you. First, why didn’t you stop those two wizards from entering your Historical Reappearance Curse and sharing the secret of creation with you?”
Locke paused, then asked the Ancestral Master.
“Was there any need for me to stop them?”
The young Ancestral Master’s expression faltered for a moment, then he smiled bitterly.
“At that time, I had just wiped out a powerful wizarding force. Those people would never trust anyone. I truly didn’t expect you to make this choice. This led me to make a wrong judgment.”
“Your archaeological magic, though only average, still made you come here to see me.”
“That’s actually more commendable.”
“Second question.”
The young patriarch’s expression turned serious.
“Are you my enemy?”
Locke’s eyes flashed with surprise. He looked at the young patriarch’s serious expression, wondering what the problem was.
Because the young patriarch was looking at him with a wary and apprehensive gaze, an attitude of equality as if he were not just a second-ring wizard, but a high-ring wizard.
‘Why does the patriarch seem more dangerous in his youth?’
Locke frowned. He didn’t understand where this equality came from; the patriarch was clearly a higher-ring wizard than him.
At this moment, the patriarch’s eyes flickered as he looked at Locke.
‘This person is closely related to the Black Sun Tower. The first time I saw him, I misjudged him. The second time I saw him, I misjudged him again.’ “
Two consecutive wrong judgments, not due to magic.”
This is a dangerous sign. I originally wanted to avoid seeing him face to face a second time, but I didn’t expect him to still come. Could he be someone from the Black Sun Tower, or a pawn?
The young patriarch’s eyes revealed a hint of suspicion.
Because even as a youth, he had already achieved flawless calculation; almost no information could escape his eyes. His deductive abilities had reached an unparalleled level.
Anyone who could escape his predictions would arouse his vigilance.
Locke said to the young patriarch, “Patriarch, you and I are not from the same era. How could we possibly be enemies?”
The young patriarch shook his head slightly.
“I’m not saying you have ulterior motives. But do you know about fish and fishing nets? Some people think they’re not in the net, but they’re always in it; some people think they are in the net, but they’re not at all.”
“Who’s in the net, that is the question. Sometimes even a third-ring wizard, or even a throne wizard, can’t tell the difference. Therefore, whether you are my enemy or not, you yourself may not even know.”
Locke frowned. He felt an immense pressure on his soul because his patriarch was saying something clearly characteristic of a high-ring wizard.
And, for some reason, it reminded him of the academic conflict between the Red Dragon Throne and the Rose Throne.
The young patriarch suddenly shook his head. “I was overthinking it. You couldn’t possibly be a pawn of the Black Sun Tower.”
“Since you’ve surpassed my calculations twice in a row, it’s the same for the Black Sun Tower. They are the ancestral home of ancient sacrificial magic.”
“They wouldn’t choose someone as uncontrollable as you.”
The young patriarch said, “From the very beginning of that world’s creation, I’ve been involved. I summoned the Banaradga gods, drawing their attention to this place.”
“My fake tomb is hidden at the bottom of this world, and I wanted the Banaradga gods to build the land at the bottom of this world. But the Banaradga gods themselves are also dangerous, so I spread a false message to them, scaring them away.”
Locke suddenly realized that indeed, there was no sign of any deployment by the wizarding civilization or the Persepolis gods in this nearby void region. He hadn’t encountered anything since he piloted the Vanguard Explorers.
What were the wizarding civilization and the Persepolis gods fighting about?
While under the spell of historical reenactment, he didn’t react much, but now, thinking about it carefully, the information that the Banaradga god received back then was probably a false message deliberately spread by someone.
The patriarch continued, “The World Leaf was an accident, but accidents are like decorations; the more decorations there are, the better they can conceal secrets.”
“I summoned the Persepolis god a second time. He only had a divine name left, and could not be resurrected no matter what. I watched him in this world, hopelessly trying to be resurrected time and time again, but ultimately failing each time. So, he only had one last path left—after repeated failures, to enter the body of the lava giant.” “
But I tampered with that lava giant. The moment he entered, the lava giant would immediately fall to the bottom of the river and transform into the power of creation.”
Locke said, “In other words, no matter what choice the Persepolis god made, his final result would not be any different from now.”
The patriarch of archaeology smiled and said, “You’re right. In heaven and on earth, his paths have long been blocked by me. It’s like a chess piece, with four other pieces around him, leaving him with no way to go.”
“His fall to the riverbed was inevitable, but the way he did it was unexpected. Because in this inevitable process, you jumped out. So I immediately realized that you couldn’t be my enemy; my enemy wouldn’t choose a fish that willingly jumps out of the net.”
“My enemy wouldn’t control such a dangerous person.”
The Archaeology Grandmaster looked at Locke and said, “Every archaeology wizard who sees me can make a wish that I can currently fulfill. Tell me, what do you want?”
Locke said, “Grandmaster, won’t you ask me about what happened last time? I still have many questions about what happened when we last met.”
“For example, the Loom Princess.”
Locke asked, “Grandmaster, I want to ask you something—was the Loom Princess the one who was truly expelled?”
The young Grandmaster suddenly paused.
“I see, you did notice after all.”
“Indeed, with your aptitude, you can indeed become an archaeology wizard.”
The young patriarch placed a finger to his lips and said, “However, you cannot continue this topic. You must save your strength. Continuing this topic will alarm the ‘Heaven.'”
“This is a serious matter,”
Locke said, looking at the young patriarch with curiosity. “Isn’t there only one ‘Heaven’ in the wizarding world?”
The young patriarch smiled. “That was after the Enlightenment. Before that, many ‘Heavens’ existed in the wizarding world.”
“But no matter which ‘Heaven’ it is, they are not easy to provoke.”
The young patriarch said, with his hands behind his back, “Locke, tell me your wish.”
Locke pondered for a moment and said, “Grandmaster, I want the Black and White Grimoire.”
The young Grandmaster looked at Locke in surprise, then seemed to understand.
“Second-circle archaeology is qualitatively different from first-circle archaeology. I did indeed create one hundred Black and White Grimoires in the past, through someone’s help, as a legacy. But some of these grimoires were destroyed in history.”
“Currently, only sixty-one grimoires exist. Perhaps a few more remain, but I don’t know the details, considering the special nature of archaeology wizards.”
“At present, I cannot provide you with the Black and White Grimoire.”
“After all, it’s a limited number. Each one basically has an owner.”
Locke frowned; he hadn’t expected this.
Obtaining the Black and White Grimoire was proving very difficult.
Clearly, if his archaeology wanted to advance further, he needed the Black and White Grimoire, and these were all in the hands of well-known wizarding organizations.
Even the archaeology Grandmaster before him couldn’t help him obtain the Black and White Grimoire.
Locke asked the question that had been on his mind.
“Why couldn’t the Grandmaster just tell me the details of Second Ring Archaeology directly?”
“With your skill, you could easily compile this teaching material on the spot, right?”
the young Grandmaster of Archaeology chuckled. “Archaeology magic is different from other magic. This magic has very high requirements for a wizard’s aptitude, similar to Potions at the Second Ring level, but completely different from Botany. Therefore, from the beginning, most wizards couldn’t possibly learn archaeology.” “
Furthermore, the root realm of archaeology isn’t seriously managed in most wizarding territories. So, through a descendant, I created one hundred Black and White Grimoires to facilitate certain wizards acquiring archaeology magic through external means. Part of the material in the Black and White Grimoires is the root realm.”
Locke nodded, understanding now.
The transmission of archaeology magic then heavily relies on the grimoires, and probably every Second Ring wizard who wants to learn archaeology will need to possess a Black and White Grimoire for a period of time.
This also explains why these grimoires don’t have printed copies.
The Archaeology Patriarch said, “Therefore, I cannot give you the Grimoire. You can choose another wish. Or you can make a choice now.” “
[Historical Aura], this is the key to second-circle archaeology. It is also a masterpiece of my spell model; the Black and White Grimoire contains many [Historical Auras]. However, you have another way to enhance Historical Aura, which I can give you now.”
The Archaeology Patriarch raised his palm, and instantly a diamond the size of a basketball appeared between Locke and him.
“This is the Historic Diamond.”
“It is the most precious treasure of our archaeological magic. Place the Historic Diamond into your ultimate spell, and you will possess artificial [Historic Auras].”
“These [Historic Auras] are created by me, so you won’t need to learn archaeology to create your own. You will immediately possess a Sun-ring level Historical Aura.”
“The power of all your archaeological spell models will be enhanced.”
“Your learning of archaeological magic will progress by leaps and bounds.”
“The second option is a [Parallel History Spell]. This is a creation spell.”
Locke looked at the Grandmaster and asked, “Grandmaster, what is the effect of this spell?”
The Grandmaster replied, “The Parallel History Spell will collect the history of a certain region, create a negative energy particle field of a parallel history, and transport you into that parallel history. This is not a second-ring spell, but a fourth-ring spell.”
“This spell can be used twice. If you discover a region that may contain the Black and White Grimoire, you can use the Parallel History Spell on that region. Once the spell is cast, a parallel pseudo-history will be generated. You can then enter it and obtain the Black and White Grimoire.”
Locke said, “That’s amazing. But Grandmaster, doesn’t that mean you used a spell to generate a grimoire?”
The Grandmaster of Archaeology said, “No. Because the item that must be based on the correct timeline has been destroyed. So this spell can only bring back an item from the past that can no longer exist in the current timeline. At the same time, the magical pressure density of that item cannot be too high or too low. The Black and White Grimoire just happens to meet this characteristic.”
“If it’s too high, the Parallel History Spell will be destroyed; if it’s too low, the item will collapse when it travels back to the correct timeline.”
The Grandmaster of Archaeology placed the jewel and a magical radiance in front of him.
“You can choose one of them.”
Locke looked at the jewel, then at the magical radiance.
“I choose the Parallel History Spell.”
“While the Diamond could immediately grant me a Sun Ring-level Historical Aura, which seems appealing, I still want my own ‘Historical Aura.’”
The Archaeologist’s eyes flickered, and he frowned, saying, “Are you really not going to choose the Historical Diamond? Countless archaeological wizards have fought countless brutal wars for it.”
“The Diamond’s value is several times greater than the value of my Parallel History Spell, and the benefits it will bring you are uncertain.”
Locke asked, “Can I trade the Diamond?”
The Archaeologist smiled.
“You rascal, others would fight to the death for this Diamond, and you’re actually going to trade it away. This Diamond is a condensation of spiritual power. I’m giving it to you; once you leave here, the Diamond will be locked onto you. Without me, no one can change its owner.”
Locke paused for a moment, then instantly understood.
“Grandmaster, you still suspect I’m your enemy.”
The Archaeologist shook his head slightly.
“I’m naturally suspicious, so it’s normal for me to be suspicious of you. You are indeed quite strange. Well, I did intend to sever the karmic ties between us with a Historical Diamond.”
“Then I would never see you again.”
“But you made the right choice and passed my final test. That’s right, the historical energy within this Historical Diamond is man-made.”
“If you accept it, it means that a part of your [energy] will always be man-made. Your potential will be locked by me.”
“Moreover, with your abilities, you cannot remove this diamond from your mind. In other words, unless you can find a Third Ring Throne Archaeology Wizard to help you and devote a lot of energy, your path in archaeology is over.”
Locke frowned, not expecting that the patriarch would be so wary of him, willing to use such a tempting method to actively hinder his archaeological path.
Locke said, “Patriarch, why be so clear with me?”
The Archaeology Patriarch tossed the Parallel History Spell to Locke.
