Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems - Chapter 805
Chapter 802 Am I the Hope of the Whole Village?
The Peach Boat is a small void flying vehicle built around the core of the Peach Boat.
After Trajan paid with magic stones, a second-ring wizard approached, chanted a spell, and the mountain-sized Peach Boat automatically shrank and hovered in mid-air, transforming into a small model in his hand.
This second-ring wizard held the small model in his right hand and a ledger that automatically floated in mid-air in his left, recording the Peach Boat’s usage information with a magic quill pen.
This second-ring wizard seemed to recognize Trajan. “Lord Trajan, I didn’t expect you to personally come to carry out such a simple task.”
Trajan smiled and said, “Yuri, I’m taking my junior brother and my apprentice on a void mission. This is their first time entering the void.”
Wizard Yuri was taken aback.
“First time? It’s certainly safer to have someone guide you.”
“The void environment is different from the various environments of the wizarding world.”
Wizard Yuri nodded amicably to Locke. “
Hello, I am Wizard Yuri.”
“One of the leaders here.”
“I will now place the Peach Boat into the void orbit. Please follow me, all three. I wish you success in your mission.”
Locke nodded to him.
The three followed him to the central mountain peak of the ‘Gates of Hell’.
“This is…”
Locke noticed that with each step he took up the mountain path, the mountain seemed to automatically grow taller, with a peach tree on top radiating a golden crown.
This mountain was automatically growing taller!
This mountain was supporting me!
Soon, they reached the summit.
If they looked up from below, it would only appear as a small hill, but those standing on the mountain could see it rising infinitely upwards, as if piercing the sky of the wizarding world.
The witch Valerie Quinn looked at this scene in astonishment, “Teacher, this is too amazing. Why does the height of the same mountain appear different to those on the mountain and those below?”
Wizard Trajan glanced at him, showing no intention of answering.
As a Star Ring Wizard, Yuri seemed to have no desire to speak with a First Ring Wizard.
Locke glanced at her.
“The base of this mountain is full of Imaginary Roots.”
Valerie Quinn looked down at the mountain in astonishment.
It appeared to be just an ordinary mountain, but she wondered how much effort the Earth Wizards, Breeders, and Botanists had put into creating it.
Valerie Quinn’s eyes were even more puzzled. She might have heard of Imaginary Roots, the biggest difference between Second Ring and First Ring Magical Plants.
But she had no idea what Imaginary Roots were or what Root Realm was, so she naturally couldn’t understand Locke’s meaning.
Valerie Quinn said, “Thank you, Junior Uncle.”
Trajan’s eyes showed a hint of surprise.
“Junior Brother, your eyesight is excellent; you recognized the true nature of this [Infinite Mountain] at a glance.”
“That’s right. The interior of this Infinite Mountain is filled with imaginary roots. Staying on this mountain will lift you up by those imaginary roots. I don’t understand the specific principles, because it’s not entirely botany; this is the masterpiece of the Earth Wizards of Golden Crown Mountain.”
Locke nodded. Earth Wizards gather mountains, adjust rivers, and create spiritual lands; it’s not surprising that Earth Wizards of the Life School could do such things.
Wizard Yuri said, “Alright, the three of you, this is the summit of Infinite Mountain. Here, we have broken through the height limit of the Second Sky and penetrated many layers of the Wizarding World’s sky, arriving outside the Crystal Wall System of the Wizarding World.”
Witch Valerie Quinn was slightly amazed again.
She was actually standing at such a high place.
Yet she hadn’t taken more than a few steps up!
Wizard Yuri placed the peach boat, which looked like a small model, on the ground in his right hand. The peach boat automatically returned to its original size upon touching the ground, transforming into a large ship.
Wizard Yuri looked at Locke, knowing it was Locke’s first time visiting Infinite Mountain, and began explaining its history: “This Infinite Mountain was built by the founding wizards of Golden Crown Mountain. It was originally intended as a means of escape from the wizarding world should they be overwhelmed by the Pureblood Order’s wizard knights.”
“After the Pureblood era ended, and several eras passed, we entered the modern magical age. This Infinite Mountain lost its former significance, but by chance, it became the most prosperous launch site for aircraft leaving the wizarding world in Cloud Swamp Wetland.”
“It has signed agreements with almost all the wizarding universities in Cloud Swamp Wetland, allowing their students and wizarding instructors to also enter the ‘Gates of Hell’ of Little Peach Mountain and ascend to the summit of Infinite Mountain.”
Locke nodded slightly. He could see many wizards on the summit besides them, many of whom were not from Golden Crown Mountain.
However, the wizards here rarely looked at others, focusing intently on their own tasks.
Locke looked down at the Infinite Mountain beneath his feet. In his tiger-eye vision, the mountain appeared to contain countless imaginary roots of various kinds, intertwined in a spiral.
‘Imaginary roots can actually achieve this,’
Locke marveled. Botany was truly vast and profound; he had only scratched the surface.
After exchanging a few words with Trajan, the wizard Yuri left. Trajan
then said to Valerie Quinn, ‘Drink the Spirit Stabilizing Potion.’ Valerie Quinn
immediately nodded, took a vial of potion from her astral ring, and drank it. Instantly, a thin, membrane-like layer appeared on her skin. A Spirit
Stabilizing Garment.
Under the influence of the Spirit Stabilizing Potion, a special layer of stable spirituality forms on the surface of the soul—the Spirit Stabilizing Garment.
Trajan, the wizard, took out two bottles of first-level Spirit Stabilizing Potions, handing one to Locke and saying, “Junior brother, this is your first time entering the Void, you probably don’t know about this.”
“Any living being entering the Void must drink this potion, otherwise their life will be threatened.”
Locke, seeing the potion Trajan handed him, immediately said, “Senior brother Trajan, have you forgotten I’m also a potion master?”
Trajan suddenly realized.
“Indeed. There aren’t many potion masters on Mount Golden Crown, I had forgotten you were one. It seems I was overthinking it, you already knew about Spirit Stabilizing Potions.”
Locke then took out two bottles of second-level Spirit Stabilizing Potions.
“These are two bottles of Spirit Stabilizing Potions I recently concocted. If you trust my skills, Senior Brother, you can test their effects for me.”
Wizard Trajan blinked, glancing at Locke with some disbelief. Without saying much, he took the bottle from Locke, uncorked it, held it to his nose, smelled it, and then observed the flow of dimensional energy within the potion.
With the powerful eyesight of a Sun Ring Wizard, he concentrated intently and indeed saw a fleeting glimpse of that special spiritual energy within the potion.
The reason Crimson Vampire Stone wasn’t banned by the White Wizarding Association was because its spiritual energy was also essential for concocting Spirit Stabilizing Potions.
Otherwise, given its dark history, it would have been banned by the White Wizarding Association long ago.
The White Wizarding Association is a product of the Enlightenment, while the Crimson Vampire Stone was a tool used by despotic wizarding monarchs—the Wizarding Grand Lords—to enslave commoner wizards during the era of absolute monarchy.
Wizard Trajan drank it directly, and at the same time, Locke opened his Tiger Eye to observe the effects of the second-circle Spirit Stabilizing Potion.
Unlike drinking a regular first-circle potion, streams of planar power converged on him, condensing into a [Rank] on his body. Thus, a stabilizing membrane appeared on the surface of his soul and body.
Both were stabilizing potions, but the first-circle stabilizing potion, after consumption, created a stabilizing membrane that resembled clothing for his soul, essentially a stabilizing garment; while the second-circle stabilizing potion formed a special membrane on the surface of the wizard’s soul.
One was a temporary effect from drinking the potion, while the other was a special ability resulting from the potion granting him a special [Rank].
In other words, the second-circle potion, after Trajan consumed it, didn’t produce its specific effects through the interaction of its natural magical components.
Instead, it altered a portion of Trajan’s surface spirituality through the granting of a certain status, thus bestowing upon him a kind of extraordinary ability.
A status is the sum of past, present, and future spirituality. The
fact that second-circle potions involve this step means that second-circle potionology touches upon the hidden true nature of things, able to grant something a special “status” through potionology, thereby granting it corresponding abilities.
Locke observed the effects of the second-circle Spirit Stabilizer potion; essentially, his own second-circle Spirit Stabilizer potion had already modified Trajan’s soul to some extent.
Although it was only the outermost, less important part,
this indicated that for a second-circle wizard, the crucial core—the soul—which was previously unchangeable, had become modifiable and fine-tunable.
The wizard Trajan said, “A bottle of second-circle potion costs about 2 to 3 million magic stones. I haven’t even been willing to buy one.”
“The Spirit Stabilizer Potion, although the cheapest second-circle potion, still costs 1 million magic stones a bottle.”
“Normally, I use first-circle Spirit Stabilizer Potion most of the time when exploring the void. I didn’t expect to get a bottle of second-circle Spirit Stabilizer Potion from you, Junior Brother.”
Locke nodded.
Second-circle potions are indeed very expensive.
This is mainly due to several factors. Firstly, the cost of second-circle potions is not low; crafting a Spirit Stabilizer Potion costs around 500,000 magic stones.
Secondly, the number of second-circle potion masters is relatively small.
The talent, time, and resources required for a wizard to become a second-circle potion master are unimaginable.
Thirdly, crafting second-circle potions is a very tiring task.
Leaving aside the energy consumed,
the main issue is that it depletes one’s spiritual perception.
“The perception of the Spiritual Aura is something very special; it’s neither energy, nor information, nor even physical strength, but rather an indescribable attribute originating from the depths of the soul.”
Potions masters, through studying the Spiritual Aura, perceive the hidden true nature of things, understanding the inherent characteristics of all things, thus unlocking the second peak of potions mastery.
However, recognizing the Spiritual Aura and concocting potions through ritualistic actions consumes the perception of it.
Locke can currently only concoct two second-ring potions about twice a month; otherwise, concocting too many would deplete that special sensitivity. Even if he knew the specific ritualistic actions involved, he wouldn’t be able to accurately perform them due to the loss of concrete perception of the Spiritual Aura.
That is, performing ritualistic actions within the Spiritual Aura’s trajectory to concoct a second-ring potion.
Most second-ring potions masters shouldn’t be as incompetent or exaggerated as him, only able to concoct five or six second-ring potions a month, but he is different.
He had taken the wrong path, getting on the train first and buying the ticket later, so his soul’s perception of spirit macro was probably among the lowest tier of wizards capable of brewing second-circle potions.
However, this wasn’t a major problem, because Locke discovered that not only learning spirit macro theory could increase his perception of spirit macro, but successfully brewing second-circle potions itself could increase his perception of spirit macro.
Therefore, his method of getting on the train first and buying the ticket later would allow him to increase his spirit macro quickly.
Locke drank the bottle of spirit-stabilizing potion in his hand, and the next moment, he felt the power of the plane gathering towards his soul, forming a special spirit-stabilizing membrane on its surface.
‘Using second-circle potions, simply put, means it can grant me a special ability, right?’
A thought kept popping into Locke’s mind.
‘My teacher said that her understanding of the power system of the Star Ring stage was a hierarchical system.’
‘If second-circle potions can grant things a special status, altering their spiritual expression to grant the user a special ability.’ “
Doesn’t that mean I can use potion-making to create a hierarchy and a power system?” “
My ecosystem is mostly plants; they don’t have much intelligence, so they can’t learn any power systems. But if I can use potion-making to create a hierarchy, wouldn’t that be equivalent to creating a power system that reduces energy dissipation?”
Locke paused for a moment.
Wizard Trajan looked at Locke and patted him on the shoulder.
“Alright, junior brother, I didn’t expect you to be a second-circle potion master.”
“From now on, senior brother, and all my friends, if they need spirit-stabilizing potions, can’t we just ask you? We can just pay the cost price, right?” “
Second-circle wizards are prone to soul wear and tear during battle. I estimate that this spirit-stabilizing membrane on my soul will wear off in a few years.”
Locke immediately felt a headache coming on and quickly explained that he could only refine a small amount of potions each year and wasn’t yet a second-circle potion master.
Otherwise, things would get really serious. “
What if my senior brother comes asking for my help in the future, and I don’t help him? Wouldn’t people think I’m disloyal? “
Wizard Trajan fell into deep thought.
“I see. I don’t have any expert-level potion-makers friends. I do know a few first-ring potion-makers, and I thought they were like first-ring potion-makers, able to concoct potions casually. Turns out, it requires something—a special perception of Ling Hong. That’s quite peculiar.”
“Junior brother, you’re probably the only one in our sect who can become a second-ring potion-maker.”
“Generally, it’s rare for a second-ring potion-maker to come from a lineage or wizarding academy that doesn’t allocate resources to potion-making at all.”
“You’re a non-second-ring potion-maker. That’s not easy.”
“If you also consider that you’re not a member of the Potions Department, then you’re a potion master with no skills whatsoever.”
Wizard Trajan laughed heartily, then activated the Peach Boat.
“Very well. Once you’re a bit more skilled, I can ask you to help me concoct any potions I need.”
Locke raised an eyebrow, feeling a strange sense of urgency, as if he were the hope of the entire village.
