Chapter 776 You’re not a first-circle wizard! You’re a second-circle wizard!

Stephania, the witch, instantly sensed the life-or-death crisis.

At the same time, the five witches beside her all rushed to her side, bells wrapped around their wrists. These bells were vibrating violently, clearly a spell to indicate the level of danger.

This was the unique inherited magic of the Ghostly Holy Church—the Ghostly Holy Bells. Each bell represented the soul of a first-class wizard apprentice studying ghostly arts.

Three bells could be strung together, requiring no complex alchemy, and could be transformed into bracelets through simple alchemical processing.

The sound of the Ghostly Holy Bells had multiple uses: it could disturb the mind of a wizarding enemy, it also had a certain psychic prophetic function, judging the level of danger, and could even be used in conjunction with the unique first-circle spell, the Ghostly Shock Cannon.

What made the witches of the Ghostly Holy Church’s expressions change drastically was that the bells in their hands seemed about to break, shaking wildly, each sound like a death knell.

That was clearly a warning.

They were to leave quickly.

At this moment, some cunning dark wizards immediately turned and fled. They had all fought their way through mountains of corpses and seas of blood, possessing top-notch survival skills.

Seeing that the situation was not right, of course they had to run.

Regardless of the process, getting away was the priority.

The six witches stretched out their right hands, shook bells, and released a ghostly shock cannon at Locke. It was a soul-burning psionic energy that directly impacted the enemy’s soul.

But the next moment, a magical plant resembling a rapier appeared in Locke’s hand.

He swung the half-summer plant, and in an instant, layers of magical models were superimposed on it. Then, the bodies of four of the six witches in front of him, who were at the vaporization stage, instantly turned into red-hot matches, cracking inch by inch.

At the same time, the permanent defensive field of the female high priestess and another crystallized witch also sparked violently. Unlike the other four witches, their permanent defensive field was a defensive magic, a ghostly shield.

Four vaporized witches, before the horrified gazes of numerous dark wizards, transformed into countless sparks, soaring into the sky like fireflies.

The four bursts of fiery spiritual energy generated by their explosions not only destroyed their magical pressure, bodies, and souls, but also their permanent defensive force fields created with offensive magic, and directly ignited their echoes.

The crystallized witch attempted to use the first-circle spell of Ghostly Arts, Model: Banshee’s Howl, but the moment she opened her mouth and burned her soul energy, her throat was destroyed by the fiery energy, rendering her mute.

The entire ruins of Verdandia University, covered in gray deathly energy, were filled with fiery energy; the summer magic descended like a summer sun from afar

, bathing half the sky in its glow.

High Priestess Stephania was utterly horrified.

“A second-circle wizard, it must be a second-circle wizard.”

“Only a second-circle wizard has this kind of power. Who exactly are you?”

Locke looked at her in surprise. At that moment, the headdress worn by the female high priestess, made from the arm of a formal wizard, and the Hundred Souls Necklace made from the arms of a hundred wizard apprentices, were all burning under the influence of this blazing aura.

Locke merely waved Banxia slightly and cast the second-circle spell Model: Lone Tree Cannot Stand, and with one strike, he completely crushed the six first-circle wizards in front of him.

The only one who was unharmed was the female high priestess herself.

‘The result is somewhat beyond my expectations. First-circle wizards, especially crystallized wizards, are at least the best among the first-circle wizards. I originally thought that I would need to use three spells to achieve this effect.’

Locke thought like lightning: ‘That’s it. These first-circle wizards are not the first-circle wizards of Cloud Marsh Wetland. I don’t know when it started, but my horizons have broadened.’ “

The black wizards of the Southeast Corner Region have such poor foundations. These formal wizards might be towering figures in the eyes of apprentices, but to me now, they are utterly inadequate.”

Locke shook his head slightly. These black wizards who swaggered around in the Southeast Corner Region were, in his eyes now, all poor students.

“It’s not just my Root Realm that can support my magic. The basic spell level of Golden Crown Mountain, as well as my understanding of magic, can all be reflected in my usual exchanges with Golden Crown Mountain wizards and reading Golden Crown Mountain’s books, supporting me.” Locke

looked at the female high priest and said, “It’s commendable that you survived my attack.”

The female high priest, Stephania, was horrified to find that her wizard robes were on fire. This was a first-ring crystallized level magical artifact passed down by the Ghostly Holy Cult, called the Robe of a Hundred Grievances, which consumed many of the academy’s best students during its creation.

But this magical artifact, under the pressure of Locke’s fiery aura, also began to spontaneously combust.

At this moment, the black wizards who had turned to flee were all astonished to find that, without them noticing, blood bats had appeared in the sky, piling up and forming a blood cloud, giving them no chance to escape.

They all glared angrily at the Blood Lord.

The Blood Lord was also bewildered.

What was preventing their departure was the Blood Curse Court’s [Eleven-Slay Blood Curse].

One out of ten would be killed.

This blood curse was originally used by the Blood Curse Court to prevent desertion; one of the ten who tried to escape would inevitably die, caught in the crossfire of the curse’s power and the magical pressure of the remaining nine.

To ensure those under the curse realized this, their hearts were even linked together, forming a blood thread.

This was why the black wizards weren’t running away.

The Eleven-Slay Blood Curse would continuously kill individuals among them, and once that person was killed, the remaining person would be grouped with the other nine and killed again.

In this way, as long as someone chose to escape, death would follow.

In fact, some dark wizards were stubborn enough to gamble on their luck, and the results were predictable.

Those who chose to flee died instantly under this intricate blood curse.

One by one, they perished.

After one wizard died, the blood vessels connecting their hearts to the hearts of the other nine wizards would sever, but quickly, the remaining nine wizards would be reconnected to the hearts of another wizards.

No matter what spellcasting methods, magical artifacts, or potions the dark wizards used, it was all useless!

With their rudimentary and half-baked spellcasting, they were utterly incapable of breaking Hussein’s Eleven-Stripping Blood Curse!

What made the Blood Lord’s eyelids twitch was that he realized the spell model of this blood curse seemed to be more sophisticated and powerful than the magic researched by his Blood Curse Court’s Advanced Curse Spell Research Institute.

He certainly couldn’t use a single blood curse to chain and lock onto so many dark wizards, with one curse following another.

Who were they?

At this moment, Hussein’s facial flesh was churning. He had previously altered his appearance and modified his soul aura by leveraging the vampire’s astonishing control over his body.

That was the second-circle curse spell model—Aura State Change.

[Aura] is an extension of spirituality, and this attribute is extremely important for curses.

Changing the aura can change the target of the curse.

In fact, many seemingly astonishing effects of first-circle blood curses are all based on aura capture. Once you understand this, you can see through the principles of many first-circle blood curses.

The folding of advanced curse spells is merely for better capturing [Aura]. Therefore, in Hussein’s current view, the biggest difference between many blood curses lies only in the different mediums of transmission.

The Blood Curse Court’s blood curses differ from other forms of curse science in that they possess a unique set of folding techniques. This basic folding technique forms blood curses primarily based on capturing bloodline aura.

This is the core of the blood curse system.

At this moment, Hussein revealed his true form, snapping the neck of a crystallized wizard from the Bone Cult, draining his blood, and extinguishing his soul flame.

Suddenly, the members of the Blood Curse Court were astonished.

“It’s Hussein! It’s actually Hussein!”

The Blood Lord’s eyes widened.

“You traitor!”

At this moment, the Blood Lord looked at Locke. He remembered that because the witch Sophia from Lilith’s Hut had killed one of his Blood Curse Court’s wizarding mentors, he had ordered the hunt down of Sophia and his only student.

And now, he remembered that the powerful and terrifying wizard before him was none other than Locke Augustine, the first-ring wizard from Lilith’s Hut.

The Blood Lord murmured, “You two have only been away from the Southeast Corner Region for four or five years, how could you have grown so quickly?”

“What level of wizards are you now? At the peak of the first ring? Or are you in the soul decay stage…?”

Meanwhile, inside the Blood Curse Court, Stanley the Wizard, after many years of wandering, finally used limb-repairing magic to repair his body and complete his lower body—the body Locke had severed with an apprentice-level magical plant, the Black Lock Bamboo Sword.

His missing arm was shattered by the witch Sophia using a magical plant, the Hairpin Flower, through elemental infusion.

Stanley the Wizard could never forget the harm Sophia had tried to inflict on him.

For the past four years, every time he thought about these things, he was consumed by deep anger, believing that his stagnation and regression over the past five years was all caused by Sophia and her apprentice.

He harbored resentment towards them, but now, with his enemy before him, he was caught in hesitation and fear.

Because he didn’t know the true extent of Locke’s magical pressure!

Just now, Locke killed four witches and severely injured two crystallized witches with a single strike!

Stanley the wizard was now filled with fear and unease, because the gap between him and Locke was simply too vast.

And it had only been four years!

Such a huge difference!

That difference even surpassed the gap between an apprentice and a fully-fledged wizard.

“No way…”

A thought lingered in Stanley the wizard’s mind.

But he forcefully suppressed it; it couldn’t be.

It had only been a little over four years.

How could this be?

Meanwhile, within the official wizarding community of the Ghostly Cult, the witch Veltani screamed in terror, trembling as she looked at Locke not far away.

Years ago, after the Eye Demon Wizard became a first-ring wizard, the first witch he killed was her sister, the witch Brittany.

She had only escaped with the help of High Priestess Stephania.

Every time she thought of Locke’s ferocious display of power wielding those mushroom-like magical plants, she was gripped by immense fear. She dared not harbor any resentment, at most displaying her power and cursing Locke in front of the dark wizard apprentices.

Now, seeing Locke reappear before her, even more powerful than before, the witch Veltani trembled with fear.

Hussein roared, his body expanding rapidly. His permanent defensive field was the [Vampire Transformation Blood Curse], thus his permanent defensive field shell was completed even earlier than Locke’s.

He stood like a demon god from the abyss, surrounded by mountains of corpses and seas of blood, imbued with crimson magic and boundless blood energy. This blood demon god strolled leisurely, capable of suppressing all demons and monsters in the world.

Hussein had no intention of letting the wizards of the Blood Curse Court go. He grabbed a full-fledged wizard from the Blood Curse Court and stuffed him into his mouth to chew.

His ferocity terrified the group of black wizards in the southeastern corner of the region.

Meanwhile, the High Priestess Stephania looked at Locke with a dazed expression, then asked incredulously, “Are you that kid I almost drowned in the River Styx back then?”

“How is that possible? Who are you?”

“Four years ago, you were just a weak, ordinary first-ring wizard. How could you become such a powerful wizard in such a short time?”

High Priestess Stephania was both shocked and furious. She seemed to feel that Locke had challenged her common sense. As she chanted a spell, long, white, ghostly death-eating worms appeared around her, then attacked Locke.

Locke didn’t even bother to lift a finger, simply standing still.

Before the insects could even get close, they were infected by the fiery power of the magical plant, Half-Summer, and burst into flames, transforming into ribbons of fire.

At the edge of the forbidden forest near the ruins of Verdandia University, another figure with large feet appeared.

The High Priestess Stephania summoned another ghostly infant, but before its soul could fully stabilize, it was burned to ashes by the intense fiery power.

The entire surroundings seemed to have turned into summer.

It was the middle of the night, yet it felt like dusk with the sky ablaze.

High Priestess Stephania swallowed hard. Only now did she accept that the little wizard she had once easily crushed with a single spell had now grown into a being possessing terrifying magic. The

High Priestess looked at Locke with incomprehension; this rate of growth was beyond the comprehension of a wizard remaining in the southeastern corner of the region.

The female high priest immediately gave up resisting and said to Locke, “Wait, Lord Augustine.”

“You are already so powerful, why kill me? Whatever you want, if I have it, I can give it to you.”

Locke smiled, “Child’s play.”

He reached out and grasped a black thread, which writhed between his index finger and thumb like a worm.

At the end of this black thread was a ghostly firefly, invisible.

It had clearly used the power of ritual magic, existing in a dual state of planar power and biological form. Unless one was a second-circle wizard with the n*ked eye to directly see planar power, only a first-circle crystallized wizard with a special spell model that enhanced perception would have any chance of seeing this worm.

“Back then, in my understanding, I was cursed by you after killing your official wizard, and then suddenly dragged into the River Styx. So that’s how it is. When I was chasing the witches Veltani and Brittany, these insects hidden in their souls… flew out and scattered in the air of that underground research institute.”

“As time passed, the number of these insects increased, gradually entering my soul, and then you pulled my consciousness into the River Styx.”

“Of course, since I killed the Brittany witch, these insects hidden in her soul would definitely fly out and enter my soul.”

Locke deliberately forced the female leader of the Ghostly Holy Church, under his pressure, to perform the ritual magic from years ago to save her life, and then he understood the cause and effect of what happened back then.

The ritual magic he encountered back then was far less magical than it seemed.

It was full of tricks.

Like magic, it was so wondrous before the principles were understood, but once the principles were grasped, the experience was completely different.

Locke followed the black thread formed by the vengeful spirit and grasped the translucent soul worm.

“I see. This worm is the core of your ritual magic, and you minimized the time required to cast it by inscribing the necessary rituals into the scepter symbolizing the authority of the Ghostly Holy Church in your hand.”

“This allows you to cast a ritual spell in less than half a minute.”

This is itself the earliest origin of wands.

In the Cloud Marsh Wetlands, the earliest wands were originally used to reduce the cost of using ritual magic for crystallized wizards and shorten the time required to cast it.

The witch Stephania essentially created a primitive version of a wand.

Of course, it could also be a primitive version of a wand passed down through generations of the Ghostly Holy Church.

Stephania’s face darkened. Her last trump card—the Ghostly Holy Church’s inherited scepter and the chain magic attack of the Ghostly Fireflies—had been seen through by Locke.

She was now helpless.

Just as the witch Stephania was at her wit’s end, Locke, to her astonishment, placed the threads of the ghostly fireflies that had previously been dodged onto his shoulder.

Thus, the interrupted ritual magic resumed.

Locke wanted to test the principles of this spell model and see if it could help him solve the problem of the imaginary root cost, so he used the most efficient method:

testing it himself.

‘The Celtic leader has been nagging me for ages, making me incredibly motivated,’

Locke thought. ‘Anyway, it’s just an avatar, and just a ritual magic cast by a crystallized witch; I’ll experience it firsthand to see how it works.’

Meanwhile, the magical pressure and the number of ghostly fireflies required to pull the consciousness of the second-circle wizard’s avatar into the River Styx were terrifying.

Stephania, the witch, could only forcibly activate her backup plan, which she had left within the souls of many official wizards of the Ghostly Holy Cult. The dark wizards felt their bodies heat up, and then their souls spontaneously combusted, sending forth countless ghostly fireflies.

This single act resulted in heavy casualties among the official wizards of the Ghostly Holy Cult; at least a quarter of their souls spontaneously combusted

to power the ghostly fireflies.

This wasn’t the witch’s selfishness; it was simply how the Ghostly Holy Cult’s ghostly magic system was designed.

Once ritual magic began, to pay for drawing the opponent’s consciousness into the River Styx, a corresponding number of ghostly fireflies had to be provided!

These ghostly fireflies contained a trace of the River Styx’s power,

making them incredibly powerful .

Locke opened his eyes, his expression strange. At this moment, both his main body on Golden Crown Mountain and his clone in the southeastern corner of the region stood up.

The original body said, “As I expected, it didn’t affect my main body. But this magic did allow a portion of my consciousness within my clone to enter the River Styx.”

“This mechanism is indeed very interesting. It pulls the consciousness into the River Styx, and then affects the body that houses that consciousness. My clone experienced a chilling sensation, as if it were being immersed in the River Styx.”

Locke’s main body was in his research institute on the Dune Plane.

A passing Sith wizard was quite pleased.

“Locke’s clone said he was going back to visit family, but he actually went back to find projects and ideas. That’s what you call dedication.”

He said to a newly arrived crystallized wizard from the True Knowledge Institute behind him, “See? This is the standard of our Golden Crown Mountain.”

“This second-circle wizard is a senior researcher here. But after becoming a second-circle wizard, he not only didn’t slack off, but he still works forty-eight hours a day!”

“Time is life. Research is all about the input-output ratio. The more time you put in, the more you get out. As long as you can spend 168 hours a week in the lab, you can definitely apply for third-class project funding, second-class project funding…”

The newly arrived crystallized wizard’s eyes were filled with emotion and enthusiasm.

“Researcher Augustine is really too hardworking.”

In the southeast corner region, Hussein turned to look at Locke with a strange look in his eyes.

“Locke is going too far! Even I wouldn’t be so reckless as to take a ritual spell head-on.”

“With a friend like this, I guess I have to go even further.”

“This lineage left behind by the Primordial Wizard in the Southeast Corner must either be controlled by me or destroyed. That damned Primordial Wizard, his legacy is a trap!”

At this moment, Locke’s avatar’s consciousness successfully merged into the River Styx, and he once again felt that icy, suffocating sensation.

Countless water ghosts in the River Styx were pulling at his legs, trying to drag him into the deep river.

Locke’s body suddenly disappeared, then turned into a bright moon, a full moon floating in the River Styx!

The witch Stephania instantly felt the crushing pressure of the second-circle magic on her soul. Her expression changed drastically, her face filled with despair, her eyes filled with utter horror.

“You’re not a wizard in the soul decay stage.”

“You’re not a first-circle wizard.”

“You’re a second-circle wizard.”

For a moment, all the dark wizards in the room fell silent.

The Blood Lord also seemed to realize something, looking at Hussein in terror.

At this moment, these dark wizards finally realized what genius and terror truly meant!
