Chapter 1045 Is this his ideal world?

This book was first published on Taiwan Novel Network, which is super awesome, providing you with a reading experience without errors or disordered chapters.

Locke and his group entered the outer wizard town of the Despair Valley Laboratory, which was also the base of the Terror Fang.

Behind the entrance of the wizard town, which resembled a tyrant’s head, was a valley filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers. However, the valley was filled with a thin gray mist. Unlike the bright sunlight outside, this incomplete sun refracted through the gray mist, as if a piece had been carved out of the middle, like a setting sun.

The light shining on everyone made people feel uncomfortable.

The Star Ring Wizard wearing the lion mask whispered, “This uncomfortable feeling—the inside of the valley and the outside of the valley seem to be two different worlds.”

The Moon Ring Wizard of the Maupassant family, according to himself, was named Ex.

Wizard Ex calmly stated, “It’s two worlds. After your Star Ring Wizard from Mount Golden Crown went out of control, his Great Magic, his Echo, and this laboratory merged together, forming a peculiar phenomenon—this laboratory is his world.”

Locke looked at Wizard Ex in astonishment.

Wizard Ex continued, “This is something we confirmed after over thirty years of research, the deaths of countless apprentices. Although we were shocked by this, and it’s highly likely a peculiar phenomenon caused by Great Magic,”

Wizard Ex said with a playful tone towards the Mount Golden Crown members, “You should also know that after killing a second-ring wizard, there’s a certain probability that the second-ring wizard’s Echo will absorb the surrounding magical tide concentration gradient, and then the second-ring wizard’s Echo will remain in place, thinking he’s still alive.”

The members of the Mount Golden Crown investigation team all glared with anger or disgust.

This dark wizard actually considered killing a pleasure and an honor.

Wizard Ex looked at Locke with a slightly surprised expression, because Locke seemed very calm, showing neither indignation nor resistance to his words.

Locke calmly said, “Hmm. I’ve indeed observed this phenomenon after killing several second-circle wizards before.”

The wizards in the investigation team were all startled.

Locke added, “It’s a dark wizard.”

Wizard Ex said, “That explains it. Since Wizard Locke witnessed the echo of a second-circle wizard firsthand, he should know that, in rare circumstances, even if a second-circle wizard is dead, he can still absorb the concentration of magical tides around him and forcibly pretend to be alive.” “

And something similar happened in the Despair Valley Laboratory.”

“Only more complicated.”

“Because the echo of a typical second-circle wizard wouldn’t contain his immense magic, nor would it contain the special laboratory of the extremely high-level Golden Crown Mountain. Now, the three have combined to create his own world, a world where Wizard Probus seems to believe he’s still alive.”

All the wizards in the investigation team were now stunned.

The Star Ring Wizard, wearing a lion mask, exclaimed, “He thinks he’s still alive? Could it be that the Probus Wizard in the lab still has sanity and can even talk?”

“How is that possible? It’s been sixty years. Echoes become increasingly chaotic with the passage of time,”

said Wizard Ex. “The situation is more complicated than that.”

“Follow me.”

The group followed the mountain path to a concrete platform on a peak in Despair Valley. There, they saw a group of third-class and second-class wizard apprentices changing their clothes on a concrete platform opposite the valley. They were putting on a special, all-in-one magical artifact that looked like a diving suit.

Wizard Ex explained, “Those are the miners.”

“These are dark wizard apprentices we, the Fang of Terror, have hired since childhood. Of course, we cover all their tuition and exempt them from all obligations, except for this—to enter the Valley of Despair Laboratory and excavate its special resources.”

“This laboratory contains a vast amount of resources, and we need manpower to enter. But if a first-ring wizard enters, it will alert Wizard Probus.” “

Therefore, we can only send apprentices who won’t alert Wizard Probus. First-rank wizard apprentices are too precious.”

“To date, over three thousand apprentices have died in this valley,”

Locke sarcastically remarked. “Since they’re all apprentices, you use the cheapest third-rank and second-rank wizard apprentices, is that it? Mr. Ex, you treat human life far too lightly.”

Wizard Ex calmly looked at Locke and said, “Mr. Augustine, you are indeed quite audacious. This is my territory, and I am a Moon Ring Wizard, yet you speak so rudely. Aren’t you afraid that I’m luring you into a trap, that this is a snare specifically designed to kill you?”

Instantly, the Golden Crown Mountain wizards beside Locke all became alert, drawing their wands or magical plant weapons from their astral rings.

Locke waved his hand. “Although you are a Moon Ring Wizard, I’ve noticed you seem to be a breeder.”

Wizard Ex grinned mischievously. “Yes. What’s wrong? I am a breeder, a bloodline essence master, and a botanical wizard.” “

That should be more effective against you. We are in the same discipline, but our ultimate magic has different levels of refinement.”

Locke said, “Then there’s no problem. As long as you are a botanical wizard and a breeder, even if you are a Moon Ring Wizard, you can’t stop me if you want to attack me.”

His Evolution Moon and Flower Bloom and Fade spells were considered top-tier in the civil war.

Wizard Ex smiled and said, “I don’t know if you’re bluffing. Anyway, I genuinely intend to cooperate.”

“Wizard Locke,” the witch with the deer mask interjected, “you don’t understand. These mining apprentices may seem to be suffering, but it’s their own choice. From their first day in our Teostra’s Fang, we gave them a normal choice: become regular apprentices or be specially trained to be miners. If they choose the latter, they’ll be treated well.” “

Within the entire Teostra’s Fang, these apprentices hold the most special status.”

“So although their mortality rate is slightly higher, it’s all an equal exchange; you gain some, you lose some.”

“You force mortals to make choices,” she continued, “can you really expect their choices to be unaffected by you?”

“I am shocked by the extent to which you disregard the law,”

Wizard Ex scoffed. “If this shocks you, it only means your shock threshold is too low, madam.

I’m afraid you’ll be even more shocked in the future.”

Wizard Ex looked at Locke and said calmly, “Despair Valley Laboratory has become the world of Wizard Probus. There, he is the master of that world, and the entire ‘world’ operates according to his will.”

“We have an internal security road map developed over thirty years, but it’s only barely safe. The laboratory is home to many strange monsters, some of which pose a threat to Star Ring Wizards, and even Moon Ring Wizards.” Locke

asked in surprise, “A threat to Moon Ring Wizards?”

Wizard Ex nodded, “Yes. For example, sometimes an unkillable low-level imp appears in the Despair Valley Laboratory.

Each time it’s killed, it resurrects after a day, growing stronger each time. If left unattended for a long time, it will revert to the strength of a second-tier wizard apprentice.”

“We’ve tested it before; the imp’s maximum magical level increase is—the Star Ring limit, but if you kill it again, it can reach the Moon Ring level.”

“That’s why I say this laboratory is very strange. Although with caution, most dangers can be avoided, making it possible for second-tier and third-tier wizard apprentices to enter and return safely—and quite likely—if a Moon Ring Wizard is careless and enters, they might never come out.”

“As for the specifics of Wizard Probus that you want to know, send someone down later. If they can make contact with him, they’ll probably understand the situation.”

“Just be careful, he’s in a bad mood right now.”

Locke glanced at Wizard Ex and said, “Can we trade the map and related information about this laboratory that you have?”

Wizard Ex replied, “No trade needed. I can provide all of that to you for free.”

“This is also to prove the value of our Teostra Fangs in this laboratory. If Golden Crown Mountain wants to obtain more resources from this laboratory in the future, they can do so entirely through our Teostra Fangs. After all, we already have a wealth of experience.”

“Investigator Augustine.”

Locke didn’t respond, but simply took the information and map from the other party.

“The data is so incomplete?”

Wizard Ex said. “The monsters in the Despair Valley Laboratory update every few years. And recently, the update rate has been accelerating.”

The Triceratops Black Wizard beside him whispered, “Recently, it’s become as exaggerated as updating every three months. I’ve sent people in several times to try and explore the reasons for the sudden mass update of monsters in the laboratory, but all to no avail.”

“The number of apprentices we lose each year is increasing. The cost-effectiveness of developing it is also decreasing,”

Locke pondered. “Could it be that the experimental processes that were running inside that laboratory back then are still operating and haven’t been destroyed?”

“Does this cause the magical creatures and plants inside the Despair Valley Laboratory to keep changing?”

Wizard Ex spread his hands. “I don’t know. I don’t dare to enter the laboratory either. Once I enter, I’ll be targeted by Probus. Although that Probus wizard is only a Void Forging Wizard, his power in his own world is infinitely expanding. Even I don’t dare to directly confront him.”

The Triceratops Black Wizard added, “That Probus wizard’s power also increases with the intensity of the magical pressure of those who enter.”

“In other words, he always manages to eventually become stronger than the wizards we send in.”

“Strange.”

Locke stood with his hands behind his back, looking at Despair Valley shrouded in mist. The Fang of Terror had studied this laboratory for so many years, yet he still hadn’t been able to completely map its interior. Not to mention, the types of monsters and magical plants inside the laboratory were changing every three months. The

interior of this laboratory was constantly evolving!

The two Star Ring Wizards looked at Locke, waiting for his instructions, to see what he wanted to do now.

Locke pondered for a moment, then said, “Let’s set up camp in this Valley of Despair and set up a defensive magic array.”

Wizard Ex smiled, knowing Locke didn’t completely trust him, but he didn’t take it too seriously.

The survey team immediately agreed.

They quickly found a spot and began setting up tents and a defensive magic array, so that even if the Fang of Terror attacked, they could be defended against it.

Half a day later, the eight-fold enchanted defensive magic array they had brought was complete. Ex and the Triceratops Black Wizard also consciously left the camp to avoid being suppressed by Locke and his team if they suddenly activated the eight-fold enchanted defensive magic array—that would be a real mess.

Eight-fold enchantment is basically equivalent to the enchantment of half a large magical device.

It’s at least the level of a wizard airship’s enchantment, although the minimum enchantment level for a typical void warship is sixteen to eighteen layers.

This eight-fold enchanted magic array, brought from Golden Crown Mountain by a witch wearing a reindeer mask and a wizard wearing a lion mask, is called the [Starlight Destruction Magic Array]. Once activated, the eight enchanted magic arrays operate in unison, forming a magical cycle, followed by countless destructive starlight showering down.

This starlight can materialize, for example, turning into starlight spears to attack enemies, or into a starlight spear array for defense.

Locke and his companions, having tied their magical ropes around their waists and had the two second-circle wizards don wizard masks, robes, gloves, and shoes, planned to enter the bottom of the Despair Valley Laboratory to investigate.

Outside the camp, Wizard Ex said to Locke with a mocking tone, “Still don’t believe me? I’ve said it before, any wizard above the first ring level who enters will be targeted by Wizard Probus.”

“You shouldn’t have brought so many official wizards; it makes it seem like you’re going to conquer a world,”

Wizard Ex chuckled mischievously. “If you want to buy a few wizard apprentices from me, that’s fine too. Don’t look at me like that, Ring Witch.

You’re so young and already a Ring Witch; you must be intelligent.”

“Anyway, these apprentices are just dark wizard apprentices; they can be bought and sold. Locke, do you need them?”

Locke replied, “Thank you, Mr. Ex. But I don’t need them for now. I just want to know the basic topography of Despair Valley and meet Wizard Probus to confirm his situation.”

Just as the two were about to continue speaking, the other side of Despair Valley suddenly trembled.

The Triceratops dark wizard’s expression changed slightly.

“What’s going on? Those thieves and robbers… lately, some wizards have been entering the Despair Valley Laboratory from other directions. Their method is to bombard the mountains and magical seals, forcibly creating an entrance to the Despair Valley Laboratory. But this makes the laboratory’s seal unstable, and many things will escape from inside.” “

Moreover, the safe routes we’ve built up over thirty years could be destroyed by their reckless actions.”

At this moment, two second-circle wizards in the investigation team were fully armed, each with a magical rope around their waist that could automatically extend up to 200 kilometers—a professional tool for exploring unknown boundaries.

The two climbed down the rock wall.

Locke took out a magical clock, which was said to use the broken spiritual touch of fire magic to calculate time, with a very small error rate and difficult to be affected by external factors.

He looked at the time on the magical clock; if more than half an hour had passed, he would order the investigation team to pull the people back. If they couldn’t be pulled back by then, he could send people down for rescue.

Wizard Ex suddenly said something to Locke, who was holding the magical clock.

“Wizard Locke, I still want to thank you for helping my little sister out of that trouble on that wizard airship. She’s too young, inexperienced, and quite impulsive.”

“For that, I’m very grateful,”

Locke said to Wizard Ex. “Mr. Ex, I was just doing what I was supposed to do on that airship.”

Wizard Ex smiled at Locke and said, “In that case, I have a favor to ask. Why don’t you join our Maupassant family?”

Locke raised an eyebrow.

Wizard Ex grinned mischievously, spreading his hands. “I think you’re a very good wizard. You’re qualified to join us.”

“The Maupassant family is a very humane family. We fight for our family, we fight for our brothers and sisters, we fight for the justice in our hearts. Join us, become our brother, become my sister’s brother. Joining us doesn’t mean you have to leave Mount Golden Crown.” “

As for the issue of black wizards, don’t worry. In any family, some people have to be involved in the black, and some have to be involved in the white. We need both substance and appearance. Being involved in the black is substance, being involved in the white is our appearance.”

Wizard Ex spread his arms. “So, how about trying to join our big family?”

Locke looked up at Wizard Ex and said, “Although I don’t know what your purpose is, I can sense that you are very dangerous.”

“I have no interest in wizard families or anything like that.”

“So forget it.”

Locke noticed someone contacting him through the Ganoderma lucidum plant, and he quickly focused his attention on the Ganoderma lucidum plant in his hand.

Wizard Ex, however, didn’t seem bothered by the rejection at all.

“I see.”

“What could I possibly want? I just wanted to reach a cooperation agreement with Golden Crown Mountain at the Despair Valley Laboratory, which is why I offered my help. Trust needs to be built, and I believe that through our cooperation, we can establish mutual trust with Golden Crown Mountain.”

Seeing Locke’s attention focused on the Ganoderma lucidum plant, the Star Ring Wizard wearing the deer mask said, “Originally, it wouldn’t have needed to be so complicated; just looking at each other’s civilization credit scores would have sufficed.” “

You don’t do good deeds normally, so you can’t gain anyone’s trust. You don’t even have the credit to borrow something when you’re out and about, which is why you have to rack your brains over such trivial matters at crucial moments.”

Wizard Ex narrowed his eyes, a hint of annoyance flashing in them.

“Be careful, little witch. You know I’m a dark wizard, not some white wizard. I don’t have that much of a temper. There always has to be someone doing the dirty work in this world. We all have our own niche, it’s just that your niche happens to be a little cleaner.” “

And my niche is a little dirtier.”

“Little witch, if you keep talking like that, don’t blame me for getting angry.”

The Star Ring Wizard wearing the deer mask snorted coldly.

“You’re a Moon Ring Wizard, who can force you to do anything? You always choose your own path.”

Wizard Ex didn’t get angry but instead smiled wickedly, “Hmm, you’re not wrong if you have to say.”

“It’s just a bit gossipy.”

The Star Ring Witch wearing the deer mask immediately retorted angrily, “You.”

On the other side, while they were bickering, Locke saw that his senior brother, Wizard Trajan, had sent him a message.

Junior brother, I heard from Teacher that you went to the Valley of Despair Laboratory, is that right? “

I feel very sorry about this matter.”

Because, strictly speaking, I may have benefited from your influence. “

Locke replied疑惑地, “What?

Brother Trajan, what do you mean by this?”

Trajan immediately sent a message: “

I’m applying for one of the four most important titles for a Sun Ring wizard: Pillar Wizard.

Only one of these four titles can be chosen. A Pillar Wizard is proof of a native wizard’s high academic achievement in their discipline. Although this title is unrelated to becoming a Three Ring Wizard, having it makes it more likely I’ll be able to apply for the Three Ring Fund.”

“My teacher wants you to go to the Valley of Despair Laboratory at this time, firstly for your Tianjiang Riverside Competition, and secondly, perhaps so that I can successfully obtain the Pillar Wizard title. Because when you set off for that place, the whole world went into chaos. I just feel really sorry for you, junior brother.”

I didn’t expect that it wasn’t me protecting you, but you protecting me. As a Sun Ring Wizard, I feel so guilty.

I originally wanted to give up applying for the Pillar Wizard title because this title requires competing with Sun Ring Wizards from several nearby wizarding lands who meet the requirements and have submitted applications, and the pressure is too great. I originally wanted to apply for the [Fire Link Wizard] title instead because I have enough experience outside the wizarding world to meet the application requirements, but my teacher stopped me.

Locke then realized that his teacher had other plans.

Wizard Trajan sent him a message. “

I really feel bad, so I’m using my clone to send you some of the Star Ring resources I once stored as compensation. I originally wanted to give them to my students, but I think you should use them first.”

“You need a lot of Star Ring resources to enter the Despair Valley Laboratory and learn advanced meditation techniques.”   Locke smiled, “

If I get the Pillar Wizard title, I’ll give you other compensation, junior brother.” The atmosphere of the Red Dragon lineage was no worse than any family in the Rain Swamp.   Locke replied.   ”Senior Brother Trajan, even without this, I would still be going to the Despair Valley Laboratory.” “This has nothing to do with you,”   Wizard Trajan replied quickly. ”   Based on my observation, when you went to investigate the Despair Valley Laboratory, I don’t know why, but all the Third Ring wizards around were acting strangely. This is definitely not right. If it were just an ordinary Star Ring wizard’s laboratory going out of control, how could it attract the attention of so many High Ring wizards?”   Junior brother, you must be careful.   The person involved in this matter is only at the Star Ring level, but I suspect the waters behind it are very deep. You must be careful.   Locke said, “Senior brother, the waters are indeed deep, but we also have the power of the Five-Colored Dragon Throne and Mount Golden Crown behind us.”   Wizard Trajan sent a message. “That’s true.” ”   Once I become a Pillar Wizard, I can back you up too. Go ahead and do it. Once I get the title, I’ll come help you immediately.”   Despair Valley, below.   Two second-circle wizards climbed down the rough, cold rocks. Passing through the valley’s mist, they could see a lush, verdant area below. Although the vegetation was completely different from the common wetland magic plants of the Rainswamp, it was still a tranquil and beautiful environment.   The two masked wizards exchanged a glance.   Then, they tried walking.   As they left footprint after footprint in the verdant grass, and nothing happened, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.   ”Strange, those dark wizards up there said it was so dangerous, but nothing happened after we came down. This looks like an ordinary area.”   —   ”Could it be that the dark wizard was lying to us?”   ”We still need to record this scene as soon as possible and show it to Captain Locke Augustine. With Captain Augustine here, I don’t think those Terror Fangs will dare to do anything.”   The two walked along the grass, leaving a trail of footprints.   The flowers, trees, and shrubs here were extremely beautiful.   It seemed that no one had lived here for a long time, so the vegetation grew very lushly.   However, the two did not notice that every time they left a footprint in the grass, a wildflower would inexplicably sprout from it after five minutes, and that wildflower would bloom after fifteen minutes.   A second-circle wizard remarked, “There are so many apprentice-level magical plants here. And they’re all so beautiful. But where do they get their nutrients?”   Another second-circle wizard replied, “Perhaps it’s the great magic of Wizard Probus. Before I came to the valley floor, I expected this place to be a barren and desolate place.” ”   Hmm? Look over there, there’s a first-circle magical plant: Planet Grass.”   Planet Grass is a well-known ornamental magical plant, an annual herbaceous magical plant. Its stem is hollow, yet forms a perfect sphere. The stem grows tightly around the sphere, and because the leaves are usually irregular and change color depending on the growing environment, this round, bulbous plant appears multicolored, like a planet.   Planet Grass is therefore extremely ornamental.   Furthermore, the color of Planet Grass’s leaves is directly related to the trace elements in the local soil, so observing the leaves can provide a preliminary analysis of the local soil composition.   Therefore, this immediately caught the attention of the two second-circle wizard investigators.   They immediately went over to observe the planetary grass, but a gentle breeze blew, and the grass, like a ball, was pulled from the soil and rolled forward.   The two were speechless.   Planetary grass was a rare type of first-ring magical plant that could pull its roots out of the soil and use the wind to roll away from its original position.   At that moment, a second-ring wizard instinctively reached out to grab the grass and prevent it from leaving, but the next instant, a bolt of lightning shot out from its surface, forcibly attaching his hand to the sphere’s surface—a seemingly special method of using spiritual touch.   The second-ring wizard tried to pull his hand away, but his expression changed drastically as he discovered his hand was firmly pressed against the planetary grass.   ”My hand—my palm has some kind of natural magical structure component of lightning magic!”   ”Damn, I can’t get it off.”   ”This planetary grass—”   the other second-ring wizard reacted quickly.   ”This isn’t Planet Grass. I activated the air composition analyzer inside my wizard mask. This air contains enchanted, natural magical components that lower our alertness. In the half hour since we entered the valley, we’ve inhaled a large amount of these components that lower the alertness of second-circle wizards.”   ”These dark wizards are inhuman!”   ”Such a harsh environment, and they actually let a bunch of apprentices come in to dig for resources!”   The second-circle wizard whose hand was stuck to Planet Grass immediately removed a second-circle enchanted glove, freeing himself from the grass.   At that moment, an inconspicuous, towering ancient tree beside the Planet Grass suddenly sprang up from the ground. Its branches transformed into eyes and arms, and the apples on its branches burst open, turning into green insect nests from which spewed forth swarms of green mosquitoes.   Both second-circle wizards were stunned by this sight.

This was the first time they had ever seen these insect-nest tree-people.

What kind of experiments did that wizard Probus conduct here back then?!

A second-ring wizard said, “Let’s retreat first. That tree-person has the magical pressure of a second-ring wizard. It’s hard to imagine that an unmanned laboratory could continuously cultivate tree-people of this level. And I think this tree-person is very strange. Let’s go up and report the situation to the captain.”

Another second-ring wizard, who had lost his gloves, was also somewhat frightened when he saw the green, firefly-like insects flying around in mid-air like rockets.

“Okay. Let’s go back quickly. The preliminary investigation is sufficient for now.”

“The danger here is far greater than what those dark wizards described.”

The two immediately turned to return to the wizard town above Despair Valley, but shortly after they turned to run away, they discovered that purple wildflower magical plants were growing from their footprints behind them, and green light appeared in the laboratory, splashing onto these plants like sap. Instantly, these plants seemed to be enlightened by wisdom.

One by one, they sprang to their feet like small wild beasts, barking at them like wild dogs.

The two exchanged a glance.

Fortunately, these small, flower-and-grass demon dogs were just ordinary first-ring level monsters, so they could just charge straight at them.

But the question was, why?

If it was such a dangerous place, what was the point of sending those apprentices down?

The second-ring wizard, now without gloves, looked down at the ground and said, “It’s footprints. Someone used the information from my footprints to cultivate those first-ring flower-and-grass demon dogs. It sounds strange, but that must be the truth. In other words, depending on who comes in, the level of the monsters we encounter is different.”

“No wonder the high-ring wizards of the Fear of Terror refused to come down.”

“After sixty years of development, this place has become a strange, self-contained place.”

The two saw in the distance, in another part of the valley, a strong magical pressure collision and fluctuation erupted, and a voice filled with anger and resentment pierced their ears—”I am real, you are fake!

I shouldn’t have trusted any of you!” “

No, I am right, I must be right!”

“You’ll all die.”

The two exchanged a glance, then swiftly unleashed the spells [Bamboo Sea Sword Formation] and [Misty Pine Smoke], blasting their way out.

Ten minutes later, a second-ring wizard climbed up from the bottom of the cliff. He had just breathed a sigh of relief when he immediately said, “Ike—he’s still down there. The magic ropes binding him broke. This is the wizard’s real name; he told me when we encountered danger. He’s lost his sense of direction, and I reckon he hasn’t found his way back. He’s probably lost now. We need to go down and rescue him quickly.”

The Star Ring Witch wearing the reindeer mask looked completely bewildered.

“What are you talking about? Look, those apprentices went down and came back up.”

By this time, the first batch of mining apprentices who had gone down the valley to mine had already climbed back up, all bearing some wounds, clearly indicating that a battle had taken place below the valley.

The Star Ring Witch said, “Look, it seems no one died. But you two second-ring wizards went down the valley, and you tell me, someone was left behind.”

The Triceratops Black Wizard, standing outside the camp, shouted, “This is the eerie place in this valley!”

Locke stopped the “Deer’s” rebuke and looked at the second-ring wizard

, saying, “What happened down there? Is Mr. Ike in danger? Is he just lost, or is he in real danger?” The panting second-ring wizard looked innocent and said, “Not in danger. But Ike is definitely in trouble. We went in just twenty minutes ago, and were preparing to fight back when we encountered a trap set by a second-ring Insectoid Tree-man. Its air roots can mimic planetary grass!”

“We were about to retreat when we discovered that the footprints we left behind had sprouted into flowers, and those flowers had transformed into Flower-Grass Demon Dogs.”

“We fought our way through, but halfway there, we discovered that the path we’d been walking on wasn’t a real path at all. We’d been standing on the roots of a treant the whole time! That means for the twenty minutes we’d been in Despair Valley, we’d been moving along the roots of a Star Ring-level treant. The roots were covered in soil, creating a kind of earth-like structure—” “

That Star Ring treant suddenly attacked us halfway through, severing the magic rope binding Ike. Without the rope, he couldn’t locate himself, and I got separated from him in the chaos. The valley is shrouded in mist, visibility is extremely low.”

The second-ring wizard looked frustrated.

“I’ve rarely encountered such a setback since becoming a second-ring wizard.”

“This is the biggest loss I’ve suffered since becoming a second-ring wizard.”

“That valley is truly bizarre,”

Locke immediately offered a guess.

“Deer, don’t blame him. It’s probably because the higher the wizard’s level, the higher the level of monsters he encounters in the valley.”

The Deer witch gave a strange look.

“Huh?”

“This is the first time I’ve heard of something like this.”

The second-ring wizard handed a True Sight crystal ball to Locke.

“Captain, take a look. We’ve encountered some trouble down there.”

Locke activated the True Sight crystal and quickly surveyed the situation. After reviewing it, the investigation team was thankful they weren’t the first to go.

The situation was just too strange.

These wizards themselves felt that even if they went down, they would likely suffer a great loss and lose face.

Locke noticed an angry voice coming from within the crystal ball.

Outside the camp, Wizard Ex snapped his fingers.

“This is the Voidforging Wizard Probus. This is his world, so he’s the strongest in it.”

“Oh. He’s so angry, and considering that neither of you encountered him, there’s only one possibility. I heard that those wizards who recently tried to forcibly enter the Despair Valley Laboratory have a plan to completely eliminate Wizard Probus.” “But

I think that’s suicide. Because this is Wizard Probus’s world.”

“Trying to defeat him with some petty tricks in his world is laughable. ” “

99

Elk,” “Lion,” and the others all looked at Locke.

“Elk” said, “Captain Locke, what do we do now? Should we send someone down to find Ike? But without the magic rope, we don’t know his exact location.”

“And the inside of the valley is so dangerous.”

“What if we encounter that Star Ring Treeman pretending to be the earth after we go in?”

“Wouldn’t that make things even more troublesome for us?”

At this moment, Wizard Ex laughed, “I have thousands of wizarding apprentices in my wizarding town. Do you white wizards now understand my foresight?”

“Then, do you need help?”

the “Deer” witch asked angrily.

Locke glanced at Wizard Ex Moonring standing outside the camp and said, “No need to trouble you, Grand Wizard Moonring.”

“I’ll go myself.” “

I also want to personally confront that Wizard Probus and the other intruders. Don’t worry, before Ike and the others went down the valley, I placed one of my Eyegrass in their shadows. I know exactly where Ike is.”

Everyone looked surprised.

The second-ring wizard, who had been feeling guilty, immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

“That’s wonderful.”

Wizard Ex paused for a moment, then clapped.

“Impressive.”

“Looks like I won’t be needed.”

Locke looked at Wizard Ex and asked, “Mr. Ex, I have a question for you.”

Ex nodded. “Ask away,”

Locke said, “Has the Valley of Despair Laboratory evolved again?”

Wizard Ex’s expression immediately turned serious.

Locke replied, “I understand.
