The Memory Lost in Space - 2. Chapter 2 Preface (2)
Preface 2
Early in the morning, the prison guard took me to the execution room.
Dr. Mu, wearing a mask and white overalls, has prepared everything and is waiting for me.
I looked at all kinds of cold equipment with metallic luster, and my heart was full of nervousness and fear. With all eyes in sight, does Dr. Mu really have a way to save me?
The guard motioned me to lie down on the death bed.
Death is right in front of me, but I still have too many doubts and unwillingness… I look at Dr. Mu pleadingly, after lying down, is it the end or the new life?
The cold mask covered his face and his expression. At this moment, he was like the legendary death god who reaped the lives of human beings mercilessly.
“Please cooperate, so that everyone can cooperate happily.” The accent of Dr. Mu’s words fell on “happy cooperation.”
I slowly calmed down and lay flat on the bed, staring at the sky blue roof.
It is said that when a person is dying, he will think of his life, but my life memory is only seven days. While waiting for death, the judge’s questioning in the court kept echoing in my mind.
“Who are you?”
“How did you sneak into the G9737 base?”
“Do you have any accomplices?”
“…”
After my neck stung like a mosquito bite, I lost consciousness.
When I opened my eyes again, I was already Princess Lorraine, and I was on the spacecraft to the Federation of Odin. Dr. Mu was the accompanying army doctor.
It is said that because Princess Lorraine was extremely afraid of marrying, she used disfigurement and naive means to resist. The emperor of the Al Empire ordered her to be knocked unconscious and directly packed and sent to the spaceship.
Anyway, the journey is long, and there are enough doctors to repair her face before reaching the Odin Federation.
The current cosmetic surgery can completely turn me into Princess Lorraine, but Dr. Mu doesn’t like me using the face of the woman he loves, so I keep my face.
It was claimed that Princess Lorraine was sad and anguished and asked to change her appearance, and the plastic surgery became what I am now.
I can pretend to be a princess with my face freely, and I am overjoyed. After all, I have lost my memory and identity. My appearance is the only connection between me and the past.
“Where is Princess Lorraine?” I asked curiously.
Dr. Mu stared at me warningly: “You are Princess Lorraine. As for… who she will be, it is not a question you should be concerned about.”
I am Princess Lorraine, I am Princess Lorland… I am hypnotizing myself silently.
Suddenly, I remembered one thing.
Princess Lorraine is a rare natural gene, but I don’t know where it came from. A simple genetic test will reveal it. Everyone knows that the Odin Federation is a princess who wants to marry because of the princess’s genes. Even if I try my best to delay it, it will not last long.
I asked cautiously: “The Federation of Odin wants to use the princess’s genes for research. After they discover that I am a fake, what will they do with me?”
“Your genes are very pure and fully meet their requirements.” Dr. Mu’s eyes were weird, and he seemed to be puzzled. “As long as you don’t make a mistake, no one will be suspicious. You have specifically tested the blood relationship between you and the Al royal family. You can always Both are Princess Lorraine.”
I glared at him in shock, not thinking that my genes were also a rare breed.
“It looks like you really don’t know anything about yourself.” Dr. Mu laughed at himself. “If your genes are not special, why should I risk saving you?”
Yes! If it wasn’t for my special genetics, Dr. Mu didn’t need to find me at all. With his means, it would be easy to find a woman to pretend to be a princess.
Dr. Mu said: “I have saved your life.”
I solemnly saluted him: “Thank you for your life-saving grace, I will fulfill my promise.”
I pretended to be in a bad mood and hid in the room all day, only willing to see Dr. Mu every day.
With his help, I started to learn to be a princess.
Fortunately, Princess Lorraine is a very low-existence person. Her father died unexpectedly when she was seven years old, and her mother died of illness when she was just an adult. As the cousin, the emperor paid no attention to her, and she rarely showed her face. She has been studying quietly, except for the maid who took care of her since she was a child, the impression of her is almost zero by outsiders.
Because of Princess Lorraine’s childish anti-marriage behavior, her emperor’s uncle was afraid that she would continue to make a fool of herself, and did not allow her maid to board the spaceship. All the people who escorted her were strangers and would not really care about her.
Dr. Mu said: “As long as you don’t act too outrageously, you won’t show your stuff. Even if someone notices that your words and deeds are different from before, they can also use excuses to cover up the past by being stimulated and your temperament changed drastically.”
I was humbly taught and expressed understanding.
One month later, I was affirmed by Dr. Mu during my studies, and I became a princess successfully.
Dr. Mu stopped urging me to study, and my leisure time suddenly increased.
I think I should take the opportunity to seriously think about how to deal with the future destiny, but my memory is blank and I can’t think of anything.
The virtual screen in front of me displayed the information of the Odin Federation, and I unconsciously drew countless “?” on it.
Everyone makes future choices based on past memories and experiences-to pursue what you like, avoid what you hate; get close to warmth and stay away from harm.
But I have no memory and no emotions. I don’t know what I like or what I hate; I don’t know who I love or who loves me.
How can a person who has no past choose the future?
While thinking about it, the sirens sounded and the captain informed everyone: “Encounter interstellar pirates, prepare for battle! Please stay calm in the safety seats in the cabin, fasten your seat belts, and do not walk around.”
Interstellar pirates?
Is it just an accident?
As I pondered, I quickly sat on the safety seat and buckled the seat belt.
The spacecraft flew very smoothly without even a hint of turbulence. It seemed that it was just a small-scale battle.
An hour later, the hatch opened and the highest-ranked General Joseph on the spacecraft walked in: “Princess!”
I unfastened my seat belt, stood up, and said hello politely: “General.”
General Joseph said solemnly: “The interstellar pirates have escaped, but Dr. Mu’s medical team was unfortunately killed while rescuing the wounded.”
“What about the rest?”
“Everyone else is safe.”
After a salute, General Joseph left in a hurry.
I stood silently.
Doctor Mu left with Princess Lorraine. He knew very well that whether it was the Al Empire or the Odin Federation, there were too many eyes staring at them. The best place to disappear was in the middle of the journey where the forces of both countries were weak.
Since then, there has been a pair of sweet lovers in StarCraft, and I…
This is Princess Lorraine.
I cast my gaze out of the window.
There are thousands of stars shining in the vast space.
I don’t know which planet my past is, and I don’t know which planet my future is.
However, one day, I hope to be like the princess and Dr. Mu, even if the space is vast and the stars are thousands, I still know my direction clearly.
