The Forbidden Path to Immortality - Chapter 68

Prologue)
One day five years ago…
dark red blood seeped through the earth and rocks. Strangely shaped corpse fragments lay scattered across the stone forest for miles around, a vibrant riot of color, lending an eerie touch to this desolate, untouched land for millennia.
Amidst the towering stone pillars, a disproportionate cacophony of voices rang out…
“Didn’t find it?”
“We’ve been tricked! After concealing the truth from the heavens, there’s still a symbiosis between reality and illusion. They must have been taken by another group!”
“Hurry and chase! Maybe we can still make it! At all costs, this treasure can’t fall into the hands of Old Demon Luo!”
Long after the voices soared through the air, something suddenly shifted in the shadows of a narrow crevice.
A strange, flat object poked out from the crevice, then suddenly expanded, returning to its normal human form. In its hand, it clutched a strange, multi-faceted crystal, gleaming brilliantly in the moonlight.
The figure lifted the crystal and gazed at the ancient symbols beneath its translucent surface: “Southeast Forest Sea, Ancient Demon Thunder Temple, Fog, Could It Be…”
His face contorted against the slightly curved, smooth surface of the crystal, his expression of ecstasy becoming even more bizarre.
He clutched the treasure that had fallen from the sky tightly, suppressing it for a long time before finally bursting into laughter. “A wonderful treasure, a wonderful treasure! It can make the Loose Cultivator Alliance dispatch two councilors, and it can keep Old Demon Luo from wanting it. It must be a great treasure. Wonderful, wonderful!”
The laughter echoed and scattered among the rocks, then soared high into the clouds. In the sky, a slender, beautiful girl yawned.
“Are all cultivators so stupid nowadays? Or is my cheap junior brother more interesting? Hmm, I’ll send him a beautiful woman tomorrow… But, Aunt Qing, how long will this boring thing take?”
The cold female cultivator in a green robe replied calmly, “You know best, why ask me?”
“Then… well, let’s wait until Old Demon Luo and the others take the bait! I leave this place to you, I’m leaving!”
The young girl patted the “big black dog” under her seat, cheered, and flew away on a cloud of mist.
The figure in the stone forest seemed to have heard something, looked around, and then also dived into the rocks, quickly disappearing.
