Chapter 7 Accident

The pursuit continued, but Li Xun couldn’t help but marvel at what he saw.

Ever since he first mastered his Dao, he’d never felt a distance of two or three thousand miles so far.

The East China Sea was brighter than usual, but a thick haze and a frigid wind blew, transforming the sea surface of June and July into the depths of winter in the blink of an eye.

As the light brightened, people’s vision remained unchanged, even narrower than before. Beneath the thick cloud layer, light gray ice crystals drifted down, like a tattered curtain, obscuring their view and sealing off the icy world. The

surface damage from the Wind Disaster Yin Prison wasn’t as violent and direct as the previous Yang Gang Thunder Flame, but its reach, duration, and venom were far superior.

As time passed, the accumulated cold grew more and more alarming. This coldness wasn’t manifested through the atmosphere, the sea, or the earth, but rather was directed directly at the vital pulses of the billions of creatures between sea and sky, gradually weakening and freezing them.

Precisely for this reason, no one felt the horror of this calamity more acutely than Li Xun. Consequently, he had remained silent for a long time.

At this moment, Shui Dielan reminded him, “The calamity is intensifying, and the lives of the East China Sea have suffered greatly. Tracking your old lover is becoming increasingly difficult.”

Li Xun nodded silently and glanced ahead.

Through the icy mist and dust, he could already discern the dark shadows representing the Sixth Land. Furthermore, from this point, the massive yellow-gray column of Nine Netherworld Earth Qi could be clearly seen. Since the onset of the Wind Disaster Yin Prison, the Nine Netherworld Earth Qi’s outburst had weakened considerably, even the constant vibration of the earth veins gradually drowning out the roar of the Gangsha Storm.

If Qingyin’s destination was there, there was enough time, but…

“She’s turned!”

Shui Dielan’s voice suddenly became rapid, her tone unusually low.

Li Xun looked up sharply, following the direction Shui Dielan pointed. He seemed to see the slender figure, cutting through the gusts of Nine Netherworld Earth Qi, circling in a wide arc, heading deeper into the interior.

Further west lay the Southeast Forest Sea. Every cultivator in the world knew that it was Li Xun’s territory!

“That bitch!”

Li Xun, feeling embarrassed at being played, blurted out a curse.

Shui Dielan rolled her eyes but said nothing. Li Xun, however, used this as a way to vent most of his negative emotions, regaining, at least superficially, his composure. He said, “Follow!”

The two men corrected their course, simultaneously increasing their speed.

Perhaps due to their proximity to the core area, the pressure of the Gangsha Hunyi formation had weakened, and the path to Gu Yin’s location was now clear.

Li Xun glanced in that direction, and that was all.

“She’s stopped, just two hundred miles away.” Shui Die Lan continued to update Qing Yin on her situation. “There are quite a few people there, probably on the side of the Loose Cultivator Alliance. She seems to be observing and hasn’t made any further moves.”

Two hundred miles—normally, for a Blood Shadow Demon, that’s a blink of an eye—but now, they’d need at least a hundred breaths.

Shui Die Lan suddenly slowed down, her brow furrowed. She was focusing more on tracking Qing Yin.

But the situation inevitably took a turn for the worse. Although they were only a hundred miles apart, in these circumstances, the interference had become almost shameless.

Finally, the demon woman stopped. “She seems to have moved again… It’s broken!” She spread her hands helplessly. “Every living thing within a fifty-mile radius of where she is has been completely wiped out. My method is no longer effective.”

Li Xun also smiled bitterly. He had a premonition of this when Shui Die Lan slowed down, and had tested his own sensing abilities beforehand, but the results were equally disappointing.

Just as Shui Dielan had said, within that area, the pulse of life was alarmingly sparse. All the creatures of the East China Sea, born and nurtured by nature, had been frozen to death by the icy air of heaven and earth. Only a group of cultivators remained, guarding the area, their activities unknown.

As for Qing Yin… there was no reaction.

Shui Dielan suddenly sneezed, then covered her nose with a bitter expression, muttering a curse, “This ghostly wind is too pungent, it’s obscured every scent… Why don’t we just go straight over there? Maybe Qing Yin hasn’t gone far yet?”

There was no other way. Li Xun flew over the jungle first, followed by Shui Dielan. Although they hadn’t encountered interference from the Loose Cultivator Alliance for some time, they still slowed down their flight. Perhaps it was because the situation in this jungle was so dire.

They had actually been to this location a few days ago and had chatted for a while on the nearby beach, but revisiting the old place made Li Xun a little unrecognizable.

The dense jungle behind the beach was covered in a layer of hoarfrost, its lush green almost invisible. Looking down from mid-air, vast swaths of trees, frozen and dead, lay frozen to the ground. Even beneath the frost, the leaves remained emerald green, seemingly refusing to wither or fall, though they were clearly devoid of life.

The devastation suffered by the animals was even more immediate.

The birds and beasts that normally populate the jungle in summer had vanished one after another, and in the lingering cold mist, there was virtually no sign of life. A closer look revealed the remains of countless creatures scattered throughout the jungle, numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

Li Xun reached out and grasped a handful of air, moving his fingers as if testing the feel of the air. In reality, this was a secret technique of the Ghost Devouring Shadow Sect, “Pick the Wind and Detect the Spirit,” used to estimate the concentration of undead resentment within a certain area.

“This place is almost comparable to Ghost Gate Lake.”

“That’s normal. One of the functions of the Wind Disaster Yin Prison is to kill living beings on a large scale and increase the concentration of vengeful spirits’ Yin energy. Otherwise, why would it be called ‘Yin Prison’? Furthermore, this is preparation for the coming Demonic Tribulation.”

Shui Dielan was incredibly knowledgeable about this, as if there was nothing in the world she didn’t know. “The current scope is still small. I once encountered an event where half of the Tongxuan Realm was frozen in ice for a full hundred days. It was a true annihilation of life, with hundreds of ghosts roaming the night. The aftermath took two hundred years to fully resolve.”

Was this the implication that the cultivators of the East China Sea should be content with what they had?

With this absurd thought in mind, the two arrived at the spot where Qing Yin had last appeared. As Shui Dielan had predicted, within a fifty-mile radius, every living thing had indeed perished. The only discrepancy was that not all of them had frozen to death in the Wind Disaster Yin Prison, but rather a significant area had been cleared by felled trees.

Because of this, the group of cultivators from the Loose Cultivators’ Alliance stood out as a particularly unsightly sight.

Standing or sitting, they appeared scattered, yet they formed a discreet circle. Their demeanor revealed a calm and composed demeanor, a relaxed exterior yet a tense inner core.

Li Xun glanced around and spotted several familiar faces, seemingly renowned within the Tongxuan Realm. However, masters of the caliber of the Ten Executives were nowhere to be found.

They were quite wary, but Shui Dielan, a foremost master of illusion in this realm, demonstrated her prowess with a simple demonstration, allowing the two to land silently in a patch of half-human-high bushes a hundred feet from the group. According to Shui Dielan, this was where Qing Yin was last spotted.

Neither of them returned their attention to the group of cultivators, instead meticulously scanning the undergrowth, hoping to find any clues.

Shui Dielan’s proficiency in this area was still superior to Li Xun’s. After several attempts, she actually found some clues.

From there, the two of them made a small detour, arriving at a denser forest a mile away.

Shui Dielan was the first to leap onto a massive tree, some seventy-eight feet tall, then shook her head. “That’s all we can find out. Your lover flew into the sky from here. Where else he went? We’ll have to ask the heavens.” As

soon as the words “thief heaven” escaped her lips, another bolt of lightning and fire struck from the heavens.

The lightning flashed, flaring like fangs and claws, piercing the skies above the East China Sea. The resounding roar of thunder, seemingly from afar, was heartbreaking, a reminder that the current situation was still a fierce, life-or-death struggle within the East China Sea.

As the lightning and fire struck, Shui Dielan raised a brow, sensing something in her mind. She turned her head and, from this angle, surveyed the group of wandering cultivators not far away. No one else had arrived, but the fierce storm of evil remained undiminished. The group of cultivators, however, remained rooted to the ground like wooden stakes. The scene was indescribably strange.

She returned her gaze to Li Xun and was about to speak when she saw him staring back at the group. At first, his gaze was sharp, as if filled with deep hatred, but gradually, his gaze became scattered and unfocused, as if he was trying to see through the wall of people and see something beyond.

“Is there something strange?”

Shui Dielan leaned forward, trying to see more from Li Xun’s position. Li Xun didn’t mind the i*imate gesture. He simply raised his hand and drew several invisible lines in the air.

“This is a very sophisticated forbidden arrangement. It looks like a restriction, but it can be transformed into a formation at any time. Between movement and stillness, it can accommodate a considerable flow of vital energy.”

The difference between a restriction and a formation is actually not as great as the literal meaning. The former is relatively static; grass, wood, soil, stone, or even casually carved patterns can achieve their purpose. The latter often requires more flexible personnel to arrange. Essentially, they all utilize limited resources and ingenious design to generate various variations, achieving the goal of attracting Qi and driving Yuan Qi.

A qualified student of forbidden techniques must master both of these common yet distinct methods, but those who can truly apply them flexibly in real life are few and far between. Even Li Xun himself, lacking relevant experience, was unsure of his ability in the formation field.

However, the bizarre scene before him clearly demonstrated a masterful dual-transformation of forbidden techniques and formations, which surely caught Li Xun’s attention.

Furthermore, both Li Xun and Shui Dielan vaguely sensed the inexplicable connection between this remote corner and the situation in the East China Sea.

“Could this be the legendary center of the formation?”

Shui Dielan was just talking nonsense, but Li Xun actually nodded: “It’s very likely.”

He continued to gesture in the air: “The Yang Movement is in the south, and the Thunder Lake is in the north. When thunder moves, all the mechanisms…”

“Stop!” Shui Dielan interrupted him unhappily: “Speak something others can understand.”

Li Xun smiled and continued: “To put it simply, this place is closely related to the formation of the Gangsha Armillary Sphere. Especially when the Tribulation Thunder is released, the vital energy surges, and the reaction here is particularly violent. However, the prohibitions here do not change with the changes in the formation, and remain relatively static. From this perspective, it is very likely to be the center of the Gangsha Armillary Sphere, and it may even be the main center of the formation.”

“The main center of the formation?” Shui Dielan did not show any signs of excitement. Instead, she looked around, sizing up the surroundings: “If it is the main center of the formation, why would Gu Yin only arrange so little?”

“So it’s just a possibility. Besides, there are still some unclear points here. Even if it’s the core of the formation, the exchange of vital energy with the outside world is too frequent, which may lose the original intention of the core of the formation to ‘draw but not be insufficient, flow but not overflow’…”

Li Xun said halfway and suddenly stopped. He was very annoyed to find that he was distracted after all. Whether it was the changing situation in the East China Sea or the simple Gangsha Hunyi formation itself, they all had a great attraction to him, so that he often forgot the most important thing in front of him.

Qingyin, Qingyin, Qingyin…

He silently chanted the name of that bitch in his heart, hoping to get some inspiration, but all that was bombarded from all directions was the news of the battle in the East China Sea.

This endless information was like a vast ocean, and Qingyin, who was isolated from the entire situation, was an inconspicuous drop of water in the ocean. After losing two sensing tools in succession, how could he catch the other party’s trace? “What will happen if we

destroy this place?”

Shui Dielan’s interest was still on the “suspected eye of the formation” in front of her, but when these words reached Li Xun’s ears, it was a bang. “What will happen if I break the formation?” The answer came back with similar words but completely different meanings, and Shui Dielan immediately widened her eyes. The more Li Xun thought about it, the more interesting it became. Since Qing Yin had come here in a big circle, there must be something nearby that interested her, and the situation in the East China Sea vaguely showed that Zhong Yin, Qing Yin, and Gu Yin might have some kind of affair. Therefore, breaking the progress of the situation, or even reversing the situation, is undoubtedly the best way to impact their established plan. If you can’t find her, let her come to me – this idea seems very good! Just as he was unwilling to be toyed with and used by others, is Qing Yin really willing to endure humiliation? Shui Dielan then frowned and spoke, “Although I’m an amateur, but… your plan is quite dangerous, isn’t it?” “If we fail to crack it, we’ll have to bear the consequences of the formation’s backlash, which is naturally very dangerous. Especially since there are some key points I can’t see clearly, and the possibility of failure is very high.” Shui Dielan observed Li Xun’s unusually relaxed demeanor, raised an eyebrow, and fell silent. Such a lack of cooperation made Li Xun’s subsequent words stumped, and he could only explain honestly, “In the world, it’s always easier to destroy than to build. There’s a most foolish yet most effective method in the world: force defeats skill. There’s also a saying: diverting trouble to the east. When these two are combined, when applied to the arrangement of forbidden techniques, there’s also a saying: using formations to break formations.” Perhaps inspired by Master Xuanhua, Li Xun felt a surge of inspiration. He had found a solution to a very difficult task in the blink of an eye. He smiled slightly, pulled something from his pocket, and placed it before Shui Dielan’s eyes. The object in Li Xun’s hand swayed slightly in the cold wind. It was a sculpted emerald-green feather, about two inches long. As it waved, a faint blue light flowed across it, seemingly radiating a constant, cool glow. Clearly, this was the feather left behind by the Azure Luan upon its ascension, passed by Li Xun to Yaofeng, who then gifted it back. Li Xun paid no heed to Yaofeng’s words regarding the feather. Even if it had some use, it was beyond his consideration. He prioritized the feather’s inherent utility. He extended his right thumb and index finger, gently pinching the feather’s shaft and slowly stroking it from the base. A faint trace of blood flowed from his fingertips, making it appear as if he had cut his finger, but the feather was spotless. Only traces of blood slowly seeped into the faint blue light. “The Azure Luan Spirit Feather is truly extraordinary. Although it’s imbued with the celestial aura of the higher realms, its qualities are somewhat incompatible, making its refinement too laborious. However, using the reverse method to stimulate the essence, blood, and spirit would yield even greater results.”

Li Xun raised the blue feather above his head, observing it carefully against the gray sky, finally nodding with satisfaction.

“With the blood I collected earlier and the resentment of the undead filling the East China Sea, setting up a Blood Spirit Flying Feather Formation would be a much more effective strategy. Hmm, perhaps just building a simple frame will do… Wait here for a moment, I’ll be right back.”

Without further ado to the forbidden magic idiot beside him, Li Xun excitedly plunged into the depths of the jungle.

Shui Dielan snorted, ultimately saying nothing. But at that moment, in the distance behind her, another earth-shaking tremor erupted.

The momentum of the collision of vital energies almost overwhelmed the thunderbolt, its power undoubtedly surpassing that of Xuan Huashen’s death.

“It’s Jade Wanderer’s puppet again. This time, the enemy is… Qi Wu, right?” The distant tremors were so intense that Shui Dielan easily sensed the general situation. “After all, there’s a mortal enemy who wants to destroy our clan. This Taoist is charging so fast, almost face to face with Gu Yin… Well, perhaps it’s more accurate to say that Gu Yin is the one who made him so fast?” It’s better

to break one finger than to injure ten. Killing a True One Grandmaster burning with hatred is indeed much easier than killing an opponent of the same realm but with a clear mind.

However, Gu Yin truly had confidence in himself…

Half a minute later, as she was idly speculating on the changing situation, a sudden gust of wind swept through the forest, rustling the leaves and frosting them like a light snowfall.

Shui Dielan reached out to gently smooth her wind-twisted hair, unfazed by the unusual blizzard. At the same moment, her other slender hand, tucked into her sleeve, gently shifted. In an instant, she vanished from the treetops, reappearing a mile deep in the jungle. As soon as she appeared,

her long, folded sleeves swung outward. The dense shadows of the trees before her offered no barrier, pierced by her silken force. The void, teeming with a violent, raging storm, suddenly shifted, as if the entire space were being held upside down and swung twice. The absurdity of the dislocation made one think one was in a dream. With

this attack, the aura could no longer be concealed. The group of cultivators in the clearing sensed it immediately. Those standing stiffened, and those sitting jumped to their feet, all turning to face Shui Dielan’s attack.

Unfortunately, they were all mistaken.

Amidst the whistling roar of the Gangsha Storm, a sudden, sharp sound rang out, like the snapping of a bowstring, the echo lingering. Among the cultivators, one with exceptionally keen perception instantly grasped the correct direction and turned to look.

But the next moment, he was blinded by a flash of blood-red cold light.

All the corresponding energy connections and reactions were drowned out by the combined effects of the heavenly tribulation and the Gangsha Storm. When the Blood Spirit Feather Sword streaked through the air, even the most perceptive cultivator could only detect the sharp sound far behind the sword’s light. Meanwhile, the four cultivators who stood in the way of the sword’s path, drained of their essence and blood, collapsed to the ground. The unstoppable sword light burst through the strongest point of the forbidden pattern, piercing directly into the center of the profound forbidden pattern.

This strike, fortified by the Pluto Sect’s Wu Ku’s True-Level Blood Essence and Fiery Soul, and infused with the resentful energy of millions of undead spirits from the surrounding jungle, while still lacking the devastating force of the sword sent from the west outside Songjing City, far surpassed the throat-splitting, soul-devouring force from beneath Razor Peak.

The instant the sword’s light pierced the earth, the surrounding cultivators groaned in agony. An invisible, unearthly force seized upon their hearts. Then, suddenly, force!

A dull crack echoed within their chests, and the heart meridians of forty-four cultivators ruptured simultaneously. The blood essence that condensed their cultivation instantly burst forth from their bodies, leaving dozens of straight lines of blood, piercing the center of the arena.

In fact, at that moment, their souls, brimming with resentment and unwillingness, could not escape the predatory force, but were bound within the blood essence and sent flying backwards.

A thick, bloody odor filled the forest, followed by a shower of tiny blood-drops and ice crystals. Such a brutal, demonic method hadn’t yet triggered a backlash from the heavenly tribulation, a testament to Li Xun’s masterful control over the forbidden technique.

Beyond that, the sight of nearly fifty bodies collapsing simultaneously was both bizarre and spectacular. These cultivators, willingly becoming part of the forbidden technique, linking their own life force to the restrictions, should have been prepared for this consequence.

Simultaneously, a piercing sound echoed from another direction.

Like a shred of fine silk, the illusionary world shattered by Water Butterfly Orchid’s flip of her hand split open, a long, unhealable tear in its center.

In an instant, the world returned to normal. Two equally slender figures flew back in opposite directions, one colliding with the shadows of the trees behind them and vanishing in an instant, never to be seen again.

Shui Dielan landed lightly on the branch of a large tree, her pale blue lips tightly pursed, and she was in a rather sour mood.

A little later, Li Xun landed beside her, his face devoid of the joy of having broken the formation. With almost the same gaze, he stared at the still-twisting shadows of the trees.

After a long while, the man finally spoke: “Are you okay?”

“Just a little bit.” Shui Dielan made no effort to hide it. She shook her gauze sleeve, revealing a long, fresh crack.

The crack was obviously cut by a sharp blade, running from the wrist to the shoulder. Through the crack, one could see the creamy skin underneath. A faint white mark still remained on the skin, almost fading.

“If it was cut, it would be a big problem to keep it safe.”

Shui Dielan was too lazy to explain how she had used her top-notch consciousness to control the sharpness of the divine sword to the millimeter. Because, in her opinion, in that situation, the target they had been pursuing was roaming freely around and ultimately escaping—no matter the reason—was a disgrace.

Calming down a bit, Shui Dielan turned and asked, “How’s it going over there?”

“Not sure yet… It’s definitely not what I was hoping for.”

Li Xun forced himself to turn back and look at the completely destroyed forbidden formation.

Nearly fifty cultivators lay lifeless on the ground in various positions. In the center, the carefully leveled open space remained calm, the expected changes in Qi and the flow of vital energy absent.

Yet, Li Xun still noticed: a blood-red feather, which should have been buried deep in the ground, slowly falling from the sky.

It seemed as if it had been… ejected?

To avoid Qi lock-on in the event of a backlash, Li Xun had completely severed control of the Blood Spirit Flying Feather Formation, making it difficult to explain what had struck the indestructible Blood Spirit Feather Sword, sending it soaring into the sky.

However, this also proves that beneath this ground, densely covered with forbidden patterns, something truly remarkable must exist.

Li Xun retrieved the Green Feather from the sky, held it in his hand, and examined it carefully.

The light flowing through the feather was still a faint blue, but the blood threads within were denser. He pondered for a moment, then reached out and gently stroked it, separating the vast amount of essence, blood, and spirit within it. This time, he felt the original power within the Green Feather become surprisingly active.

“Something’s strange.”

“What is it?” Shui Dielan, seemingly forgetting her previous embarrassment, flew in that direction with curiosity. Li Xun called out for caution, quickly retracted the Green Feather, and followed.

The two had only flown halfway when the situation had already changed.

The ground that had been pierced finally responded.

A series of dull gurgling sounds were heard, and then the two saw a small hill about two feet high suddenly rise from the flat ground. Then, it was broken apart by a huge force, leaving an irregular large crack. For a moment, earth and rocks flew everywhere, and shrill screams were heard.

Both of them were startled and hurriedly stopped, watching from a distance.

Li Xun was even more confused. In his opinion, there was no drastic change in the Qi here, nor any particularly obvious fluctuation of the Yuan Qi. The Three Thousand Gangsha Hunyi Formation was still proceeding in an orderly manner, and the heavenly tribulation was still accumulating. So where did this power come from?

“It seems… something is coming up?” Shui Dielan did not need to sense it, but used her unique keen sense of smell to find something unusual. She turned and smiled, “Perhaps this is a volcanic crater? Or perhaps your Blood Spirit Feather Sword has penetrated a vein somewhere?”

Her speculation sounded more like sarcasm than anything else. Li Xun grinned, but didn’t answer.

At this moment, the ground cracked and the eruption intensified. At first glance, it looked like a small volcanic eruption, two or three miles away. Li Xun and the others could also feel the scorching air currents emanating from it.

Changes had finally taken place between heaven and earth.

When the gushing air currents reached a certain limit, the already unstable vital energy of heaven and earth was bound to react. As a result, the surrounding Gangsha storm was gradually dissipated, and within this limited area, a gap appeared in the Gangsha Hunyi formation.

Although it was insignificant compared to the thousands of miles of the East China Sea, the area seemed to be constantly expanding.

“Perhaps your method of breaking an array with an array has finally worked?”

Shui Dielan said with a smile, but Li Xun couldn’t laugh at all. He could only shake his head silently. After a pause, he frowned and said in a deep voice, “Something really is coming up.”

The cracks in the ground were widening, and the speed of the airflow began to slow down. The powerful thrust slowly pushed something up.

The two stared at that place, not blinking.

The whistling sound of the air flow became abnormally low, as if the energy was exhausted. But then, an object with a color obviously different from the earth and stone emerged. The warm pink color was seen at this moment, but it had a layer of chill that instantly spread to people’s backs.

Perhaps because the evil storm was repelled, the incessant whistling of the wind in the forest also disappeared. Li Xun could almost hear the soft breathing of the living creatures in the cracks in the ground.

“Lin… Wuyou?”

The girl Li Xun knew so well emerged from the ground. She was wearing a pink shirt, her eyes closed, her hair half-length and flowing. Her face was bloodless, and her usually relaxed and bright brow was slightly furrowed, as if trapped in a nightmare.

A reality beyond imagination suddenly appeared before Li Xun.

At that moment, the most sublime power from heaven and earth seized upon his moment of distraction and reacted with a bang.

Beside him, the water butterfly orchid suddenly vanished. Li Xun, startled, could only see her instantly leap several miles to the top of the crack in the ground, her finger extended, and without hesitation, she pointed.

Then, his vision blurred.

An almost irresistible pressure poured down from above, pressing against his neck, causing a crackling sound. The high pressure squeezed his blood, blocking his senses and orifices, and his vision instantly turned blood red.

The heavens and the earth were shaking, but the source of this shaking came from the deepest tremors in his heart. His body trembled with it, and the once orderly flow of true energy became even more chaotic.

At this moment, Li Xun’s mind was empty, and only his body, on the verge of collapse, made unreasonable movements.

In that instant, his body transformed into the purest blood shadow demon body, breaking through the air that had become as stagnant as solid, and flew towards Shui Dielan.

Amidst a sharp whistling sound, Shui Dielan pointed a finger at Lin Wuyou’s eyebrows.

The ice-blue light, like a circle of mysterious Buddha’s light, flashed around the two of them. At this moment, Li Xun rushed over, and his open arms just happened to wrap around the two women. The three of them rolled into a ball, and using the residual force of the impact, they flipped to the other side of the open space.

Just a hair’s breadth away, the crack in the ground where Lin Wuyou had emerged silently expanded into a dark hole nearly ten feet long. The perimeter of the hole was mirror-smooth, like sand heated by intense heat, transformed into a semi-glassy texture.

An invisible tremor rapidly spread from the hole’s center. Li Xun and Shui Dielan, already over ten feet away, shuddered, each gushing out blood. Their speed increased dramatically, and in a blink of an eye, they were three to five miles away.

Then, a devastating explosion erupted, a devastating explosion.

A three-mile radius was instantly engulfed in scorching flames, and the accompanying shockwave swept in all directions, wiping out tall, lifeless trees without even a chance to topple.

This wasn’t the end of it. The sky, once thick with gray haze, was now filled with purple lightning and fire. Hundreds of thick electric branches hurled down from the clouds, entwining and colliding in the air, forming a vast net that spanned the entire sky and earth, leaving virtually no gaps. They pressed down flatly, and upon contact with the roaring force on the ground, a second devastating explosion occurred.

The atmosphere trembled like ripples on water, clearly depicting the trajectory of the sweeping shockwave. The violent and scorching winds, their speed instantly surpassing the highest limits attainable by cultivators of the Tongxuan Realm, instantly reduced the forest stretching for hundreds of miles to a blanket of white.

The shockwave quickly reached its explosive limit, its expansion suddenly slowing. From high above, its cross-section appeared to be shrinking slightly. At that moment, another explosion struck the very center of the white field.

A fourth wave, a fifth, a sixth… a total of nine soul-shattering explosions!

Such divine might was far more terrifying than the initial strike of the Qiantian Yang Gang divine thunder.

If Li Xun’s mind froze when the thunder struck, but his instincts remained, now even those seemed to be lost. Nine consecutive, violent impacts completely disrupted the normal flow of qi and blood in his body, rendering him completely unable to make any effective movements.

He followed Shui Dielan and Lin Wuyou, and the three of them clung to each other, spinning and shaking in the air like a broken leaf, seemingly ready to be torn apart by the hurricane at any moment. He remained dazed

for an unknown amount of time before the long-lost sense of gravity finally returned to him. He found himself falling to the ground, still holding Shui Dielan and Lin Wuyou in his arms. The sudden shift in weight sent a violent tremor through his limbs.

He choked on a second mouthful of blood and shuddered violently.

After being enveloped in the scorching air for so long, he felt cold all over. It was obvious that something was wrong.

He grinned, not knowing whether he was complaining or mocking himself: “In the end, I was harmed by the cold poison.”

“Be content!” The water butterfly orchid in Li Xun’s arms moved slightly, and then let out a groan, not knowing where it was hurt.

She released the girl from her arms, looked at her pale face, snorted twice, and then reached out and patted her in a sullen manner. “See? This little one is the trigger for the apocalypse. Luckily, my mind-transferring spell was quick, sealing her vital spirit. Otherwise, the apocalypse would have unfolded without wasting a single ounce of energy… and would she have just let out a few farts in vain?”

Li Xun was stunned by the words. But then, thinking back to that terrifying fart that had overwhelmed everything, if it could truly be focused on a single point instead of dispersing in an explosive manner, it would have been truly terrifying to even the gods and Buddhas. Even a thousand Li Xuns wouldn’t have been able to stop it.

But…how had Lin Wuyou become the trigger for the apocalypse again?

Could it be that the warnings and warnings uttered by the Shuijing Sect two hundred years ago, leading to the “Killing Wind” incident, weren’t just empty words tampered with and manipulated?

Li Xun and Shui Dielan exchanged bewilderment.

The atmosphere still rippled with aftershocks. While they might be called “aftershocks,” they were actually no different from a summer hurricane at sea.

Where the wind blew, grass and trees bent, sand and rocks flew, and a whistling sound continued. Of course, the ground where Li Xun and Shui Dielan stood seemed deliberately smooth and mirror-like. Aside from the stronger wind, there wasn’t much else to worry about.

Shui Dielan pondered for a moment before her expression grew drowsy, her head nodding up and down. She looked as if she might even try to sleep in Li Xun’s arms, a clear sign of severe energy depletion.

Li Xun immediately understood that the so-called “Mind-Transferring Spell” could actually trigger a partial heavenly tribulation—a truly top-notch divine skill. However, the greater the effect, the greater the cost. With Shui Dielan’s combined injuries, it was clear she couldn’t withstand it. He didn’t dare delay, whispering, “Don’t dwell on it yet, and don’t fall asleep. Let’s return to Wuyinxuan and wait and see…”

His voice suddenly cut off.

Behind him, a flash of cold light ripped through the void, remarkably silent, yet almost oblivious to any process. In a flash, it had already struck his back.

However, the indestructible sword light didn’t even pierce Li Xun’s shirt, instead piercing the middle of an ebony staff.

The staff instantly snapped in two, but a delicate hand grasped the newly broken half and, seemingly feebly, tapped the blade’s spine. Again, without a sound, the female cultivator trembled. From behind a veil of crow feathers, a mouthful of blood spurted out, and she flew backwards.

Yin Sanren stepped out of the void, proudly standing beside Li Xun. He didn’t pursue, but only smiled faintly, his voice clear and clear: “After so many years apart, Fairy Qingyin’s desolate beauty has transformed into a gentle and alluring charm. Could it be that she’s sleeping with a different man, and is now demanding a little attention from her demeanor and grace?”

Qingyin didn’t react, simply vanishing beneath the completely uncovered sky.

At this moment, the upper half of the broken golden whisk fell to the ground with a slight sound, but then it jumped up again… Not only this half of the whisk, but also Li Xun and others on the ground were shaken by the wave-like shaking of the ground and could not sit still. For a moment, they were in a very awkward situation.

Li Xun opened his eyes wide, cursed vaguely, and then said, “What’s going on?”

In response, he was answered by a shrill sound like a baby crying.

The sound waves traveled across a distance of hundreds of miles, ringing clearly in his ears. Unable to explain why, Li Xun shuddered violently. He looked in the direction of the sound, but saw that the sky over there suddenly darkened.

The sharp contrast between the distant and near skies was almost eerie, as if a huge monster had opened its mouth and swallowed half of the world in one gulp!
