The Forbidden Path to Immortality - Chapter 131
Chapter 4: The Traitor
From a protocol perspective, a sect leader inviting outsiders aboard the Cloud Chariot is undoubtedly a sign of closeness and respect.
Although Mingji and Qin Wanru were of equal seniority, they didn’t dare neglect proper etiquette in public. Li Xun’s face stiffened as he followed her in and out. He didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until he was inside the Cloud Chariot.
Unlike Mingji, Li Xun had been there before, and upon entering, his gaze automatically darted towards the couch within. He saw a dark blue orb of light swirling above the feather attendant’s body through the gauze curtains. Occasionally
, a fainter ray of light of the same color emanated from the orb and passed through the feather attendant’s body.
Mingji’s gaze was quickly drawn to this strange object.
Qin Wanru, beside him, softly explained, “That’s my mother. She suffers from the Soul-Destroying Silk and needs the Soul-Fixing Blue Star to save her.” Our sect went to great lengths to have this one crafted by the master craftsman from Qianfan City. We were on the verge of success when we were ambushed by a demonic phoenix. Luckily, Sect Master Li and the fairies came to our aid…”
Mingji, not fully understanding the circumstances, could only sigh.
Qin Wanru smiled faintly, turning to Li Xun and saying, “Back then, Fellow Daoist Lingzhu was young and of mediocre cultivation, which is why he was saved. Now, just seventy years later, he’s become a world-renowned figure. Today, you’ve even brought back those circumstances, leaving me sighing at the fleeting nature of time.”
She assumed the airs of a respected senior, as if genuinely reminiscing about the past. Li Xun, unwilling to be led around by her, simply nodded humbly.
Mingji, however, saw a subtle nuance in her words and stuck in his words. “The situation Sect Master Qin encountered today was likely the result of a moment of carelessness. However, the Demon Phoenix and the loose cultivator alliance behind it are gaining momentum, and with your mother’s involvement, I wonder if Sect Master Qin still intends to return south as originally planned?” Qin
Wanru knew Mingji was steering the conversation towards a collaborative alliance among the sects, but she didn’t bother to correct him. She simply said, “My mother’s condition is unstable right now, and I can’t be bothered right now. I intend to stay in Shuijing Cave Heaven for a few days to observe. Besides, the Demon Phoenix has been too aggressive, and I regret that my cultivation is so limited that I can’t resist it right now, so…”
She paused, then sneered, “I’ve also written a letter requesting that our Master come out and seek justice for me. I suspect the Demon Phoenix will no longer dare to act as it pleases!”
As she spoke, her beautiful eyes swept across the two of them.
Li Xun could see that Qin Wanru was still putting on airs, clearly still somewhat resistant to the idea of a joint sect alliance. But it wouldn’t be wise for her to rely on anyone else, especially Yin Sanren.
You know, Yin Sanren is probably still in the Southeast Forest, taking care of Yingning. How could he possibly make it?
Li Xun suppressed a smile and looked away. While the Cloud Chariot was spacious, there wasn’t much to notice regarding gender differences. He glanced around, only focusing on the ornaments hanging on the inner wall. The intermittent chatter of the two beauties reached his ears.
Just as he was feeling bored, Li Xun’s heart suddenly stirred. This inexplicable feeling was like dropping a small stone into a lake, creating ripples without knowing where the stone came from. It was incredibly strange.
Li Xun was no longer the “youngster” that Qin Wanru had described. Decades of trials and tribulations had given him immense experience.
Under these circumstances, he quickly cleared his mind, maintaining his original position and meticulously examining any nearby factors that might be affecting his state of mind.
After a moment, at the limit of his field of vision, Li Xun finally spotted the source of the change.
It was the feathered attendant on the bed.
Although his posture and breathing remained unchanged, the exchange of energy between the Soul-Fixing Blue Star and its energy had undergone a subtle shift. The blue light threads seemed to be fewer than before, and the rate had also changed.
Mingji and Qin Wanru were still engaged in casual conversation, unaware of the changes.
Li Xun frowned. He wasn’t familiar with the Soul-Fixing Blue Star’s operations, and naturally didn’t know what constituted normal s*x. The differences between men and women made it difficult for him to stare at the bed. So, despite his doubts, he suppressed them.
At that moment, Qin Wanru’s soft voice reached his ears, hinting at him: “Speaking of which, Fellow Daoist Lingzhu and I have a connection. It’s a bit of an eldership, but it’s rare for us to meet. I wouldn’t want you to go home empty-handed…”
Li Xun, surprised by the meaning in her words, was about to refuse, but Qin Wanru spoke first, “The Mingxin Sword Sect’s sword-wielding skills are unparalleled in the world, and their single-minded focus is pure and refined. Ordinary magical weapons are merely a nuisance to you, Fellow Daoist. I have a small gadget that might be just the right size for you.”
As she spoke, Qin Wanru pulled a small object from her sleeve and handed it to him. At first glance, it looked like a brass bell, only the size of a longan, with simple carvings. Qin Wanru placed it in her palm and rolled it slightly, producing a low, resonant sound.
“This item is called ‘Snow Sweeping’. It can be attached to the back of a sword hilt. After carefully refining it for several days, its sound will be subdued, allowing you to calm your mind and distract your enemy. It’s not very lethal, just a small gadget, but a perfect souvenir.” “
Li Xun and Ming Ji exchanged a puzzled look.
If it was a treasure that was too valuable, they would naturally not accept it. However, this “Snow Sweeping Bell” was not rare, but only practical. It was a good commemorative item. It would be a bit unkind to refuse it.
After a slight hesitation, Ming Ji nodded slightly to show her agreement. Li Xun received the instruction and bowed before taking it from Qin Wanru. His heart skipped a beat when he took the bell, but he remained calm and just thanked her again.
After Qin Wanru gave the souvenir, she naturally sent the guest away. Ming Ji said nothing more and pulled Li Xun to leave.
Li Xun stole a glance at the two women’s faces and saw that the result seemed to be within the acceptable range for both parties.
In order to cover up his desertion, Li Xun did not ask Ming Ji for details after getting off the cloud chariot.
Ming Ji sighed.
“The Yin-Yang Sect alone isn’t enough to accomplish anything. No wonder Sect Master Qin is so cautious. Aside from the Western Alliance, there are very few sects with conflicting interests with the Northern Alliance, so the idea of a meeting can be put on hold.”
Li Xun responded cautiously, “After all, this isn’t a battle. While the Northern Alliance is powerful, it can’t completely defeat the Hundred Beast Sect. After this incident, the other sects shouldn’t give Gu Yin any excuse to cause trouble.
” “It seems the situation in Xuanhai Youming City is complicated, and it’s hard to guarantee that the Northern Alliance won’t take action…”
Before he could finish his words, he felt a blow to his shoulder. The blow to the scabbard was so inexplicable that Li Xun’s eyes widened in grievance.
Mingji pressed the scabbard against his shoulder, half-smiling. “I finally understand what you’ve been working on these past few years! Why are you so concerned when your own cultivation hasn’t even reached a certain level? Even if you were a worm in Gu Yin’s stomach, it wouldn’t be any use to someone flicking it away with a single finger!”
Li Xun couldn’t help but shake his head. “Forget about the worm. Besides… isn’t there already one?”
He lowered his voice, hinting at something. The result was another blow from the scabbard.
Mingji’s smile suddenly faded amidst his exaggerated cries of pain, revealing a calmer side.
“Don’t mention this again. I think Sect Master Qin is holding back on this matter, and he must be hesitant. Speaking out will only cause more trouble.”
Li Xun nodded, then slowly followed Mingji. After walking a few steps, he suddenly heard a voice: “I forgot that I haven’t returned the Swallowing Sea Spirit Xi to you yet. Here, take it.”
Li Xun took the pendant from Mingji’s hand and still pretended to be confused: “What did Fourth Uncle do with this thing? Last night…”
“I used it to fight against the “Blood Demon” last night, but it was a pity that the medicine was not suitable for the disease.” Mingji was very calm and described what happened last night in a few words.
“Judging from the way Xu Kang and the others died the day before yesterday, the Blood Demon must have been immersed in the ways of evil for many years, and his actions are filled with great hostility. His burning blood and energy must have been nourished by evil spirits and resentment.
“This ‘Sea Swallowing Spiritual Resonance’ is certainly not as effective as the ‘Jade Exorcism’, but it is not completely useless… Therefore, Sect Master Shi Wuya and I both feel that the Blood Demon that appeared last night is not the same as the one the day before!
“The one from the day before yesterday was more experienced and violent. And the one from last night, whose cultivation should have been downgraded, was even more refined. Tsk, where do all these devils come from!”
Li Xun heard this, cold sweat breaking out on his back. He forced a smile and said, “Does Fourth Master know who killed Yun Xing that day in Xinghe?”
Ming Ji’s brows furrowed even more. After a while, he said, “We can’t jump to conclusions. But now that you’ve reminded me of something…”
“What is it?”
Ming Ji hesitated, then smiled and shook her head, saying, “Forget it, don’t worry about it. Just remember to be extremely careful when you go out!”
Hearing her say this, Li Xun naturally couldn’t ask any more questions and could only ponder what he had said before leaving the building. But after walking a few steps, Ming Ji suddenly turned around, and Li Xun, distracted, almost bumped into her head.
In his haste, a slender hand gently pressed against his chest. Li Xun, using a little force, stopped himself and looked over, bewildered. He saw Mingji’s stern expression, clearly having made a decision.
“Do me a favor… Sect Master Li, please apologize in advance. I have something urgent to do and need to leave first.”
“Huh? Where’s Fourth Master going… Hey!”
Li Xun truly saw her impulsive nature. Before he could even ask for clarification, she shot upwards, heading east. Even if he wanted to catch up, it would be too late.
Standing there for a long moment, Li Xun instinctively scratched his head. Halfway up his hand, he realized he was still holding the “Sweeping Snow Bell.” A thought flashed through his mind, and he hooked his fingers and shook it, listening to the clear ring. His mind was
still thinking about Qin Wanru’s previous actions. As he took the bell from Qin Wanru’s hand, he could clearly feel its overheating temperature and immediately understood that Qin Wanru must be conveying some message through this method.
Recalling the demon phoenix’s profound sigh before its departure, combined with the subtle changes within the cloud chariot, Li Xun sensed a secret waiting to be unearthed.
Interesting!
His fingertips dipped into the sensitive inner wall, and upon first contact, he knew there was indeed something hidden. Li Xun calmly glanced around, then tucked the bell back into his sleeve. He even had the leisure to ask a nearby Shuijing Sect cultivator for directions before leisurely heading towards his destination.
Explaining to Li Douliang and the others and reporting to Minghuo was out of the question. By the time everything was complete, daylight had faded again.
By then, most of the participating sects had already returned, leaving the area surrounding Shuijing Cave Heaven quite quiet.
Since the nine righteous sects still had matters to discuss, Li Xun and his group had no choice but to linger. However, since the nine sects enjoyed a harmonious relationship, Master Shuijing had allocated several residences within the cave, allowing all the disciples to move in.
Regardless of everyone else’s excitement, Li Xun immediately found an excuse to bury himself in his new home and continue researching the secrets of the “Snow Sweeping Bell.”
Qin Wanru couldn’t expect perfection in such a hurry, so Li Xun quickly discovered the mechanism within the bell. Grasping the iron bead within the bell’s wall and gently pulling, a fragment of jade, the size of a mung bean, fell out.
No wonder the ringing was a bit jarring; it was this thing causing all the noise.
Li Xun smiled and shook his head, picking up the broken jade. A brief infusion of his true energy revealed it to be something like a recording slip. Qin Wanru left a message within it: “The sect is unstable. Chanyu is a traitor. Master is too busy to travel elsewhere, so I’m borrowing your sword.”
This then became the Yin-Yang Sect’s internal communication method. Qin Wanru hoped that Li Xun would use this to lure out the traitor, Chanyu, and slay her within a month.
“Hmph, Yin Zhonghua is too busy to handle this. Does that mean I’m free?”
Li Xun wasn’t interested in the Yin-Yang Sect’s internal spies, but rather the phrase “
too busy to handle this. “
It seemed to imply that Qin Wanru believed Yin Sanren should come to the Shuijing Sect to protect her sisters and disciples, and didn’t have time to meddle with the sect’s affairs.
But why was the tone of his decision so strange?
After a long pause, Li Xun couldn’t grasp the key. He could only think of “Chanyu.” If his memory served him well, this person must have been a top-tier Yin-Yang Sect elder, who seemed to have fought tooth and nail when Qin Wanru seized the position of Sect Leader…
But thinking of the Xingji Sword Sect’s Bixiu, Li Xun could understand why.
The names Chanyu, Yu Shi, Qin Wanru, Gu Yin, Yao Feng, and even Yin Sanren flowed back and forth in his mind. Gradually, a thread seemed to connect them all, but it felt as if something was missing, and the more he thought, the more confused he became.
Just as he was thinking, there was a sudden commotion outside. Li Xun curled his lips, muttering something like “Troublesome Times” as he crushed the jade shard into pieces before standing up and leaving.
To call it a commotion was a bit of an exaggeration; it was just a few cultivators shouting about “refining a magical weapon.” After listening for a while, Li Xun realized that a master craftsman from Qianfan City had borrowed a cold spring from the Shuijing Cave Heaven to forge a magical weapon.
Qianfan City’s magical weapon forging skills were considered the best in the world, and they rarely appeared in public, but for some reason, they were making such a high profile.
Li Xun, however, was uninterested and shook his head. Just as he was about to go back to rest, he heard someone call from behind, “Junior Brother Lingzhu.”
The voice was unfamiliar, and Li Xun turned around in surprise to see a face he didn’t recognize.
His extensive memory finally came into play, and in a split second, he remembered the person’s identity: “Senior Brother Ji Ya, long time no see.”
It was none other than Xi Ji Ya, the third generation and a proud disciple of the Never-Sleeping City.
Li Xun had met him several times before, the most recent being when the entire clan relocated to the city that never sleeps. Though their acquaintance wasn’t
a matter of chance, they still got along. Seeing Ji Ya’s hurried demeanor, it looked as if they’d come looking for someone, not just by chance. Li Xun’s mind instantly jumped to “that person,” but then he chuckled and shook his head in denial.
A moment later, Ji Ya approached, clasped his arm, and said, “Junior Brother Lingzhu, you’ve been giving me
such a hard time finding you.” “Huh?” Li Xun was momentarily stunned by the usually calm Ji Ya’s eagerness.
A slight embarrassment gripped Ji Ya, and he was about to speak, but the sound of voices lingered around him, and
he hesitated. Li Xun, sensing his difficulty, smiled and said, “Why don’t we talk inside? Senior Brother Ji Ya, if there’s anything I can do for you, I’ll do my best to help.”
His words were a formality, but they were appealing. Ji Ya nodded gratefully, and they followed Li Xun inside. He also had experience cultivating his Qi. After his initial impatience, he realized he’d lost his composure. He took the time to sip his tea inside the room and slowly regained his composure. When he
spoke again, he was much calmer. “I was overly anxious and lost my composure. Please forgive me, Junior Brother. This matter is so important to me, so…”
Li Xun said quickly, but
he was still wondering what difficult question Ji Ya would raise. Unexpectedly, after taking another sip of tea, he blurted out, “I remember you said that when you first met the Master, he gave you a Rainbow Shadow Pearl. Is that true?”
“Yes, it is true. This pearl is invaluable, and it saved me from great hardship. I’ll always remember your kindness.” Li Xun wasn’t vague about this matter, and unlike before, his words were at least eighty to ninety percent true.
Ji Ya’s body tensed at this, and he managed to suppress his tone carefully, asking, “Junior Brother, do you still have the Rainbow Shadow Pearl with you?”
“Yes, how could I not carry such a precious treasure? It is indeed with me.”
Ji Ya’s face was filled with joy. He took a deep breath, set down his teacup, and looked at him with hope, his voice even trembling slightly. “Junior Brother, could you lend me this pearl for two days? I will definitely return it after two days!”
Li Xun had no idea what was going on, but he knew how fickle people are, so he nodded without hesitation and said, “This precious pearl was originally given to me by the Master. Now, Senior Brother, if you want it, feel free to take it. There’s no need to set a return date.”
He reached into his arms and pulled out the dark pearl, which spun gently in his palm.
Ji Ya stood up and thanked him earnestly before carefully picking up the bead and breathing in his true breath for a long time before he breathed a sigh of relief.
“This time, thanks to Junior Brother Lingzhu, otherwise I would have regretted it all my life.”
“Oh? What’s so serious? Uh… if it’s related to your sect’s secrets, Senior Brother, there’s no need to tell me.”
Ji Ya was filled with gratitude at this moment, and with good news coming up, how could he hold back his laughter? He chuckled, “It’s a big deal for me, Junior Brother Lingzhu, but it’s okay for you to hear it.”
“Actually, the Master just told me that he will teach me the method of the ‘Innate Five-Colored Divine Light’…”
“Ah, congratulations, Senior Brother! The Innate Five-Colored Divine Light is considered the highest method of your sect’s Aurora Mystery. The fact that Senior Brother has been taught this method is undoubtedly that the Master has recognized that you are qualified to pass on the orthodoxy.”
The steady and calm demeanor that Ji Ya had cultivated over hundreds of years had disappeared at this moment, and he was grinning from ear to ear.
“Thank you for your kind words, Junior Brother. When I first heard the news, I was so happy I was silly. But I didn’t expect that the Master also said that this method of Five-Colored Divine Light needs to be demonstrated on the spot. Its power, in addition to the strong pressure of the mountain, has a particularly strong impact on the mind. A cultivator like me must have a magic weapon to protect the mind.
“Originally, I also had a “Rainbow Shadow Pearl”, but unfortunately, before participating in the Water Mirror Conference, I gave it to a junior brother to use for a breakthrough.
“I’m stumped now that the matter has come to a head. And the Master said she’d be in seclusion after the Water Mirror Conference, with only two days to spare. Luckily, I thought of you in my impatience. Junior Brother, you’re truly blessed!”
He laughed heartily. Li Xun laughed along before casually asking, “Is the Master going into seclusion? It’s only been a few months since the sect moved, so there must be a lot going on.”
“Yes, there are a lot of things to do, but the Master said she’s in the middle of a critical breakthrough and can’t wait. Fortunately, we have Master and the other senior brothers and sisters back home who can help with the work. I think it’ll be fine for the short term.”
Li Xun nodded repeatedly, but then he remembered that Master Tianzhi, despite his supreme cultivation, hadn’t personally taught any disciples like this third-generation disciple before him. Xi Qi’s master was Tianzhi’s senior brother, True Man Jiying.
They chatted for a while longer before Ji Ya took his leave. Naturally, he expressed his gratitude and promised to return within two days.
Li Xun half-heartedly agreed, but his mind was on something else.
Tianzhi… could she finally hold back?
Another day passed in the blink of an eye. The internal discussions of the Nine Righteous Sects had concluded, but when they looked up, they found the situation almost unchanged from before the meeting. Even the Yin-Yang Sect maintained a lukewarm attitude, showing no signs of escalating.
Li Xun showed no interest in this, for he was already nervous. Others might not have noticed, but he himself already felt a sense of impending danger. This was especially true after Ling’s casual remark today, which had touched him deeply.
“Why didn’t I see Junior Sister Shuiyue today?”
Ling’s casual remark had only instilled a subtle sense of the Shuijing Sect’s attitude, adding to the pressure. It was like someone whipping him from behind. Unable to silence the insider, he could only do his best to ensure everything else was done to the best of his ability.
Without Mingji by his side, Li Xun felt much less hesitant. He found a pretext to inform his fellow disciples, then left Shuijing Cave Heaven and disappeared into the vast mountains.
Shuijing Cave Heaven is located in the central section of Beiqi Mountain. Beiqi Mountain, with its numerous spiritual veins, is the largest medicinal herb distribution center in this world, and a region densely populated by cultivators.
However, due to the terrain and the presence of restrictions, the area thousands of miles around Shuijing Cave Heaven remains quite quiet.
Especially after the Shuijing Conference concluded and everyone left, with the “Blood Demon” stalking the surrounding area, it became difficult to spot anyone.
However, Li Xun remained cautious, knowing that whether it was the Yin-Yang Sect’s attractive bait or the upcoming Razor Peak Conference, Yaofeng and his companions wouldn’t stray too far.
He sought a relatively secluded valley, shaded by dense evergreen trees. Long without sunlight, the rotting branches and leaves were nearly a foot thick, making them imperceptible.
Li Xun cleared a relatively clean area on the slope of the valley and bent down to carve the forbidden patterns. This didn’t take him long.
Once completed, Li Xun confirmed that no cultivators were disturbing him within dozens of miles before activating the Bone Meridian Heart-Connecting Technique and the Soul-Transmigration Technique, transforming all his true energy into the Dark and Bright Yin Fire and reactivating the Bottomless Nether Ring.
In an instant, his true energy and essence were overturned. The surging Yin Fire, suppressed for months, surged, swelled, and nearly broke free.
After two deep breaths, Li Xun regained his composure. This also showed that the “Blood God Son”‘s interference wasn’t limited to the orthodox Xuan Sect; even the cultivation of the Youming Qi was affected.
Li Xun observed intently, noting that the originally subtle and mysterious Yin Fire had been tainted with a fierce aura. Perhaps its lethality had increased, but many of its subtle transformations were now unavailable.
Frowning, he knew this wasn’t a problem that could be solved quickly, so he set it aside for now and focused on practicing the Corpse-Exorcism Puppetry Technique.
This was easier than before. Within a few breaths, the long-absent Youyi emerged from the void, his majestic form more silent than a ghost.
At that moment, the Youming Yin Fire within Li Xun erupted like a bursting dam.
Youyi’s eyes, hidden behind his hood, lit up, a crimson glow like two flaming swords fused with surging power.
With a bang, the air several feet around Youyi erupted in flames, catching the dead leaves on the ground and filling the air with ash.
“Wow!” Li Xun patted Youyi’s chest in amazement.
Youyi didn’t move, but Li Xun’s touch gave him another start. Youyi’s body temperature was like a burning coal, nearly burning his hand.
As the Tianming Yin Pearl neared its end of life, Li Xun and Youyi could only communicate directly through physical and spiritual energy, becoming increasingly sensitive.
He quickly realized that perhaps it was the residual energy of the “Burning Blood Essence” injected into Youyi’s body, mixed with the Youming Yin Fire, that had caused Youyi to react so strongly. The energy of the same origin and nature surged throughout his body, adding fuel to the fire.
Such a powerful reaction was also controlled within the framework of the “Corpse Driving Puppet Technique.” Li Xun had inadvertently increased the puppet’s combat power, a surprising surprise.
This showed that cheating was different from actual cultivation. If the Tianming Yin Pearl had remained relatively independent of the puppet, how could such a surprise have occurred?
Of course, this was also closely related to his ascension to the True Person Realm. Otherwise, with his previous cultivation level, You Yi would have been annihilated in a quarter of an hour, and all his power would be meaningless.
Suppressing his joy, he ordered You Yi to set up security around the area. He himself took a deep breath, gathered his concentration, and activated the magic circle set up on the hillside.
Li Xun performed this action to contact Yin Sanren, thousands of miles away. Although he had a very strong spiritual connection with the puppet, the distance forced him to resort to special forbidden methods.
As Yin Fire infused the forbidden patterns, external vital energy also circulated continuously.
Through this special amplification method, the bottomless dark ring on his chest resonated and resonated. A strand of Li Xun’s spiritual consciousness penetrated the depths of the bottomless dark ring, connecting with the “Nine Nether Realms” within the dark, a world apart
. He also entered a state of inner vision. The more
he saw, the more obvious the signs of his realm’s advancement became.
In his view, the operation of the Bottomless Nether Ring perfectly aligns with the realm described in the classics: “The void is drawn into the intertwined meridians of the netherworld, and heaven and earth intersect in a single, chaotic fusion.
” Simply put, the Bottomless Nether Ring circulates in an endless cycle with his own energy and that of the Nine Netherworld. Compared to his previous one-sided pursuit, this has now reached a level worthy of “parallel communication,” a distinct difference in purpose and realm.
Influenced by the Nine Netherworld’s radiation, the Yin Fire surrounding him rises and falls. The closer it approaches the Bottomless Nether Ring, the more its nature approaches a pure, “subtle and obscure” essence, while those further out inevitably become mingled with a fierce, murderous aura.
The two layers of Yin Fire within and without, flowing with the rising Yin and descending Yang Qi, exchange and gradually refine and refine.
Li Xun’s careful reflections yielded insights that hinted at the fundamental principles of heaven and earth. At this point, he gained a deeper understanding of the value of this uncanny book, “Record of the Netherworld.”
“It’s a pity… the most likely result of dividing my attention is a lack of skill. My temperament isn’t suited to undivided attention and intensive practice. Will this remarkable book be wasted in my hands?”
Before the thought was over, his divine consciousness, throbbing deep within the abyssal ring, vibrated. When it finally settled, it had projected itself into the unfathomable depths of the Nine Netherworlds.
This strand of divine consciousness, bearing the imprint of the master, moved in the vast void, sending its own unique vibrations far out through a special channel. In an instant, they were resonated with the same vibrations from afar.
Through this profoundly mysterious channel, Li Xun successfully connected with Yin Sanren. After a moment’s discomfort with the new method, he quickly sent a question.
“Is Yingning alright?”
Yin Sanren’s response was filled with pure spiritual joy. “Fortunately, after crying a few times, she’s started to build her foundation and is making rapid progress.”
From this, Li Xun could imagine Yin Sanren’s brilliant methods, but he wondered how poor Yingning had managed to survive.
But he quickly put the matter aside and asked, “Can we leave?”
“No, Tianmo Wu’s inner demons were very strong when she was building her foundation, and her calming power is poor. She needs someone to guide her.”
“How long?”
“At least a month!”
“A month…” By then, the cucumber dish had gone cold. Li Xun frowned, somewhat resenting Yin Sanren’s impatience. This would delay not only Qin Wanru’s affairs, but also the meeting at Razor Peak.
But who could have imagined that Shui Dielan would run off to play despite her injuries?
“What happened over there?” Yin Sanren’s senses remained sharp.
“Hmm, nothing… How is Chanyu?”
Though not concealing her surprise, she quickly responded, “She’s my junior sister from the Yin-Yang Sect. We had a good relationship and supported Wanru’s ascension. What’s wrong?”
Li Xun felt no obligation to answer Yin Sanren’s question, but continued, “Does that Chanyu know any secrets? About your sister?”
“Secrets? What secrets could Chongyu have?”
Yin Sanren’s answer was crisp and clear, without any hesitation. Li Xun found no trace of concealment in her mind.
Li Xun was quite satisfied with this. This kind of remote communication was, after all, too exhausting. After just a few words, Li Xun felt a little tired, so he simply cut off the communication and emerged from his trance.
“It seems the incident is relatively simple. Killing Chanyu isn’t a big deal, but unfortunately I’m too busy to do anything else…”
He muttered to himself without any sincerity, not considering the fact that it would only take about twenty-five days to go to the Yin-Yang Sect and back.
After all, he still had too much to do.
