Chapter 1 Asking for Love

At some point, dark clouds gathered around Zuowang Peak, and the afternoon sun had long since vanished, making the streaks of light in the sky all the more conspicuous. Qi Bi, consumed with shame and indignation, was now unable to distinguish east from west. He let the sword light stream down, thinking only of escaping, never looking back. “

You call that husband and wife?”

It’s not just sleeping together and calling each other “husband” and “madam.” A true husband and wife has a home, a home!

What is a home? A husband, wife, and children huddled together isn’t enough. They have to make a living, manage the household, and ensure the prosperity of the family. That’s what they strive for. What are you? Daoist couples! Just a pair of monks and nuns, brought together purely for the sake of cultivating the Dao and nourishing each other—that’s all!

He can’t give you anything else besides cultivating the Dao! If you want children, you’re destroying his foundation. The more you want, the more dissatisfied he becomes. In the end, you’ll be a demon in his heart, a demon!

Demonic barrier…

Qi Bi felt her head spin. Before she knew it, her cheeks were wet. She tried to stop the tears, but in the end, she could only cover her mouth with her hands, trying to stifle the sobs.

Shan Zhi’s words were like a sharp knife, slicing at her heart, peeling away all the self-deception, revealing the bloody flesh beneath. So, she was terrified. She wanted to escape, no matter where, as long as she could bury her wounds again… Just like that, it would be all right!

The sword flashed through the treetops, moving forward amidst the shattering tangle of branches and leaves. She didn’t know how far she had flown before she thought she heard someone calling her name, once, repeatedly, the call coming closer and closer, until it became clear enough that Qi Bi could no longer ignore it.

She paused her sword and looked back, lost in thought, unable to place her target. All she saw was a vast expanse of withered grass and ash. The sky and the ground seemed a single color, and suddenly she couldn’t tell what was above or below.

The world seemed to flip upside down in an instant. Her head was spinning, sword lights scattered, and her body plummeted from mid-air.

“Senior Sister Qi!”

The voice that reached her ears became clearer and clearer. With the call, the sky suddenly gathered with clouds. Amidst the sound of air squeezing and gurgling, Qi Bi fell into a soft cloud. The misty water vapor filled her nostrils, making her mind even more drowsy.

Sitting on this cloud, Qi Bi was stunned for a long time before she barely regained consciousness. She looked up and saw the man standing in the air. If it wasn’t Li Xun, who else could it be? Their

eyes met, and she suddenly laughed out loud: “Junior Brother Xun, are you here to ruin me too?”

Before she could finish her words, she could no longer hold back her sorrow. Tears poured out unrestrainedly, and her cheeks, which had just been dried by the wind, were immediately wet again.

Li Xun’s brows furrowed, and he was speechless for a moment. He was no match for this kind of thing. Right now, he would rather have another fierce battle with the three sect leaders than face this traumatized woman

head-on. How could that guy not distinguish the serious from the serious?

He cursed inwardly, but in the end, he could only sigh softly, “Senior Sister Qi, I’ll take you back.”

These completely irrelevant words were more effective than any words of comfort. No matter how heartbroken Qi Bi was, she had to respond to such kindness. This pause interrupted her emotional flow, leaving her stunned.

Facing Qi Bi’s gaze, Li Xun felt a little embarrassed, but he said no more. He pinched a hand seal, attracted the cloud beneath Qi Bi, and flew down the mountain.

But just as they were halfway up in the air, they heard Qi Bi’s voice: “Where’s Yingning?”

“She’s still sleeping.” Li Xun replied casually, and after thinking for a moment, he said: “Senior Brother Lingji is taking care of her up there.”

“Let’s go back!”

“Huh?”

Li Xun was really surprised this time. He turned his head away, but was speechless for a moment.

Qi Bi gently wiped away the traces of tears, and tried to make her expression more normal. Then she met Li Xun’s eyes: “Yingning is very smart. If I had gone down the mountain first, she wouldn’t have been able to hide this matter, and it would have only made her worry… go back…”

Li Xun was silent for a long while before nodding: “Don’t worry, Senior Sister Qi, I have asked Senior Brother Shan to go down the mountain from another direction and think it over in seclusion. If you don’t want to…”

He was halfway through his words, and Qi Bi had already heard the unfinished meaning. She smiled softly, and her eyes suddenly became deep: “Junior Brother Xun, how long have you been hiding this from me?”

Li Xun’s heart skipped a beat, and when he looked at her again, he only saw the low silk curtain. In the wind, her black hair fluttered, intertwining in front of his eyes, hazy and blurred, making it impossible to guess what she was thinking.

At this moment, Li Xun suddenly realized that he had done something wrong again. How could a woman’s mind be so easy to guess?

With a bitter smile, he did not argue, but just stood in a corner of the cloud and remained silent. Qi Bi did not ask again, and remained in a kneeling posture, with the curtain lowered, covering up all changes in his emotions.

This scene seemed familiar.

Li Xun watched quietly, and was lost in thought. The sound of the wind in his ears seemed to turn into a different kind of whistling sound, and the coldness penetrated his bones. Faintly, through the layer of darkness, two sparks were burning under the cold water.

Even so close, almost breathless, Li Xun still couldn’t understand. Was it filled with regret and despair, or was it meant to suck the souls of others, condemning her to eternal damnation?

A sudden chill washed over his forehead, and Li Xun’s mind snapped back to life. Looking up, he saw a gray haze across the sky, with a few specks of snow fluttering, gradually forming a dense curtain. Carried by the mountain breeze, it moved from peak to peak, eventually enveloping the entire world in a blanket of snow.

“This snow came so suddenly…”

Li Xun let out a long sigh. His emotional fluctuations had already been dangerous. If he hadn’t been awakened by the chill of the ice and snow, who knows what might have happened.

This unexpected turn of events filled Li Xun with a wary eye. His realm had broken through too quickly, and he had deep-seated demons within him. While everything else was fine, he now had to be extremely cautious with Ling Zhu’s identity.

When he looked at Qi Bi again, he saw that she was in the snowy fog. In just a few breaths, a thin layer of snow powder had already covered her shoulders, making her look even more sad and confused.

Li Xun did not think he was a soft-hearted person, but seeing this scene, he could not stand idly by.

Sighing, he made another hand seal, and a slight humming sound appeared in the clouds. The energy shuttled and pulled, generating a mist of warm air, which blocked the flying snowflakes around. Qi Bi also felt this change. She raised her head slightly, her eyes swept across Li Xun’s face, and then drooped again.

Just when Li Xun thought that the clouds would return to silence again, he heard Qi Bi’s whisper: “Junior Brother Xun, talk to me for a while.”

Li Xun hesitated, but still walked over and knelt down like Qi Bi. Perhaps because they were so close, he could clearly smell the warm, moist air of the clouds, mingled with the fragrance of her beloved’s body. A distant, fragrant aroma, a unique flavor.

He suddenly didn’t know what to say.

Qi Bi, however, didn’t rush to speak. She reached out and gently combed her slightly disheveled hair.

Her snow-white wrists, her dark black hair—a truly charming gesture, appropriate only within the boudoir, before the dressing table. Qi Bi displayed it before the public, perhaps not intentionally, but it inadvertently altered the atmosphere between them.

Faced with this situation, Li Xun couldn’t help but have other thoughts, but they were quickly wiped away.

Silence lingered for a while, and as they were about to return to Yingning’s resting place, Qi Bi spoke calmly, “If Junior Brother Xun were in your Senior Brother Wen’s situation, what would you think of me?”

From this, Li Xun roughly guessed what Shan Zhi had said.

Seeing the bitterness on Qi Bi’s lips, he sighed inwardly, but his voice remained calm. “I haven’t had the same experiences as Senior Brother, and I can’t imagine what his current situation is like. However, in my opinion, Senior Sister Qi is Senior Sister Qi. What Senior Brother thinks is none of my business.”

His tone was cold, but his words were so i*imate that it was hard not to hear. Qi Bi pursed her lips and smiled, her mood seeming to improve, but the next question she asked made Li Xun a little overwhelmed: “You don’t care what your Senior Brother Wen thinks, so you don’t care what your Senior Brother Shan does, right?”

Li Xun could never bear this accusation, so he immediately shook his head and denied it, saying with a wry smile: “I only have a general understanding of Senior Brother Shan’s thoughts, but I really didn’t expect him to do such a thing… Then again, I can control the heavens and the earth, but I can’t control other people’s thoughts!

“And, as for you, Senior Sister, among the many brothers and sisters on the mountain, he’s probably not the only one who has ulterior motives!”

This was purely to confuse the audience, but the effect was really powerful. Qi Bi’s face first turned red, then blue and white. After a long moment of shock, she realized her loss of composure. She cursed “nonsense” and stood up.

Li Xun jumped up, his face still serious, without a trace of playfulness.

“Senior Sister Qi, of course you don’t like to hear this, but the path of cultivation is long, and everyone experiences delays and missteps. Senior Sister, you’ve cultivated for much longer than I have, so you should have similar insights. Senior Brother Shan has strayed from the right path, but aren’t you, Senior Sister?”

“Me?”

Qi Bi’s bright eyes gleamed slightly. Meeting Li Xun’s gaze, she couldn’t resist at first, and turned away. “Yes, me too?”

Her voice faded, becoming fainter and fainter. Li Xun was debating whether to seize the opportunity to speak up when he heard a soft whisper: “…So, the one I admire most is you, Junior Brother Xun!”

“Huh?”

Qi Bi didn’t look at him, but cast her gaze upon the falling snow. Through the dense snowy fog, the outline of Zuwang Peak loomed, a far more mysterious and vast presence than usual.

“I also know that after the incident at Tiandu Peak, demons have been deeply planted in my heart. I have tried my best, but every time when it is late at night and everyone is asleep, the past comes flooding back, and I can’t control myself. The demons in my spiritual altar disturb me, and I am almost living a life worse than death! For decades, I have made no progress in my cultivation.

“But Junior Brother Xun, you were still young back then, and the stimulation you received was even greater than mine. However, in the past few decades, you have been able to practice diligently and make rapid progress, and have become the top rising star in this world… Is the difference between people so big?”

Li Xun frowned. Qi Bi’s unintentional words just happened to reveal the difference between his cultivation and that of others. If Qi Bi’s knowledge had improved a little, maybe she could have noticed something different from it.

However, Li Xun didn’t care much now. He just smiled and said, “My temperament is different from that of Senior Sister. Maybe this is the reason…”

“Maybe.” From Qi Bi’s tone, it can be heard that she has no interest in this, and her original intention is not to dwell on these old things.

Stopping Li Xun’s explanation, she whispered, “If it only affected me, his cultivation had stagnated, it would be fine, but it’s implicated him too. Over the years, he’s been distracted and his progress has been mediocre. I know all this, but I don’t want to dwell on it…

” “Actually, I should thank Junior Brother Shan. If it weren’t for him, I might not have seen so clearly! But, these days, I don’t want to see him anymore!”

Her words were rather disjointed, clearly still struggling to shake off her frustration. While her last sentence was a rare moment of decisiveness, she couldn’t escape the cycle of self-pity. Li Xun sighed, finally giving up the thought of trying to persuade her further. But then again, what business was it of his to care if someone else was hurting themselves?

It was truly bizarre.

Noticing his own shift in attitude, Li Xun became concerned. From his vantage point, he could already see Lingji pacing outside the cave. Seeing his face, a look of unconcealed worry, Li Xun knew that resolving the situation silently would be difficult.

At least things didn’t get any worse. Shan Zhi was relatively obedient this time, perhaps frightened, and he’d already applied to the sect for a retreat. By the time Li Xun and the others descended the mountain, he’d already been “devoted to cultivation.” Without this person around, Qi Bi and Ling Ji were able to maintain their composure.

After sending Qi Bi and Ying Ning back home, Li Xun was exhausted and about to go back to rest when he saw Ling Ji following behind, frowning, his steps catching up with him, unconcerned about disturbing them.

Li Xun was both angry and amused. He turned around and said, “Why don’t you go back? Are you showing me that expression?”

Lingji’s expression didn’t improve. After a long pause, he said, “It’s all my fault today. I was too impatient…”

“He’s in a state of confusion, so who can we blame?” Li Xun first tried to distance himself from the matter. Then he said, “I’m also worried that he’s mentally unstable. However, now that things have come to this, face-to-face persuasion is no longer effective. We can only deal with him secretly to prevent him from getting upset.”

As he spoke, he sneered in his heart: upset? I’m afraid he will do something else!

It had been a casual thought, but remembering Shan Zhi’s pale, despairing expression when he’d scolded him and sent him down the mountain, Li Xun became concerned. He kept saying, “But this incident can be considered an opportunity. If he can come to his senses, it will be a credit to you!”

Lingji, knowing Li Xun was trying to cheer him up, curled his lips and forced a smile, but his expression quickly darkened again. Li Xun rolled his eyes, feeling helpless against his friend’s softness.

After some more persuasion, he finally managed to calm Lingji down and let him go back to rest. Watching him fly away on his sword, Li Xun’s tiredness vanished. He stood at his doorstep for a moment, his earlier thought starting to crystallize: Shan Zhi, that kid, wouldn’t he actually do anything?

With that thought in mind, Li Xun felt a little restless. After a moment’s deliberation, he too soared onto his cloud, heading down towards Zhiguan Peak.

Of the three generations of disciples of the Mingxin Sword Sect who had already completed their training, except for Wen Hai, Qi Bi and his wife, and Li Xun, who lived on Zhiguan Peak, the rest were scattered throughout the peaks and valleys of Lianxia Mountain.

Shan Zhi’s residence was in a low valley, not far from Zhiguan Peak. Li Xun flew there in less than half an hour and entered directly.

The valley was shrouded in a hazy blanket of snow, obscuring most of the vegetation, creating a surprisingly refreshing scene.

Li Xun had expected Shan Zhi to immediately rush over, crying and begging for advice. However, to his surprise, upon entering Shan Zhi’s residence, there was no sound at all.

It was already dark, and the lights were unlit. The darkness enveloped most of the room, blending with the light from the snow filtering through the window, creating an eerie, gloomy, and profoundly unfathomable silence.

Li Xun frowned, his pupils dilating and shrinking several times as he quickly adjusted to the light in the room. However, his gaze still darted around twice before he located Shan Zhi. The poor creature was huddled in a corner, his entire body shrouded in shadow.

Li Xun took a step forward and was about to speak when his lips closed again as his gaze fell upon him.

Shan Zhi was trembling. Against the backdrop of silence, the rustling of falling snow,

the clacking of his upper and lower jaws, and the strange sound of flesh being shaken loose all combined to form a series of low, subtle sobs that blended into the gradually spreading darkness.

Li Xun watched silently, watching the poor creature bite his thumb, unconsciously suppressing the sobs, making them fragmented and muffled. The half of his face that was exposed was already wet with tears, and it was hard to tell whether the expression on his face was fear, despair, or sadness.

This scene was all familiar.

Li Xun felt vaguely that lately, he had been like an old man on the verge of death, and everything that flashed before his eyes was inextricably linked to the past. His heart, shrouded in a hazy state of reality, had taken on a different shape.

The human heart is truly a wondrous thing. At that moment, Li Xun felt his feelings of disdain, contempt, and boredom quickly fade, leaving behind an inexplicable emotion that ultimately dissolved into a sigh.

The sigh was like a sharp needle piercing Li Xun’s scalp. The instantaneous pain jolted him out of his chaotic flow of thoughts, and he retreated almost hastily, unwilling to remain in this suddenly oppressive, suffocating space. Li

Xun rushed out of the house, taking a deep breath in the cold snowy mist, feeling better. He patted his cheek again, the crisp sound trying to calm himself, but Shan Zhi’s dejected, hopeless eyes still flashed through his mind.

Those eyes, unfocused, held his heart, causing it to vibrate softly to a rhythmic rhythm.

“Damn it!”

he muttered, and Li Xun leaped to his feet, not even turning back, flying towards Zhiguan Peak.

He was constantly ascending, yet a deeper feeling evoked a sense of being plunged from the Linyuan Terrace. One moment, he towered over all, insolent, yet in the blink of an eye, his foundations crumbled, leaving him on par with that pitiful creature!

Yes, even if he hated to admit it, the truth was this: Shan Zhi now was the same Li Xun from sixty-four years ago! There was no fundamental difference between the two.

This was insane…

Li Xun had essentially “escaped” back to Zhiguan Peak, his heart swollen with irritation, his surging blood assaulting his defenses countless times. Reason and impulse combined to tell him he needed to do something, whether to prove himself, to vent, to accomplish something beyond the reach of that pitiful creature. That would be at least a solace.

However, upon returning to the small building, he became dazed: What should he do, but what could he do?

Overwhelmed with uncertainty, Li Xun wandered from downstairs to upstairs and back again, three or five times, still unable to find his goal.

The blood vessels beside his temples were already throbbing. If he had a sword at hand, he would have drawn it without hesitation and slashed. First, he would have destroyed this small building, and then slaughtered everyone on Zhiguan Peak to vent the pent-up anger in his heart.

Li Xun’s face flushed red, and he stepped heavily as he entered the study for the fifth time. He paced back and forth twice, and was about to go out again, when, as if by magic, his eyes unconsciously swept over the stone slab on the desk, as well as the pen holder and inkstone beside it.

The clear sound of a jade chime seemed to ring in his mind, which slowed down his sanity that was on the verge of collapse. He took two steps forward, staring at the stone slab, stunned for a long while, and suddenly struck it with his palm, breaking it into pieces.

“Got it!”

He shouted, and with the sleeves of his robe rolled up, he cleared the broken stones on the table and threw them out of the window. By the way, he scooped up a layer of white snow and circulated his true breath, turning it into water, which dripped into the inkstone. He picked up a stick of ink that looked quite valuable and ground it twice in the square inkstone.

The ink was good, but the grinding technique was poor. Watching the unevenly thick and thin ink spread, Li Xun felt annoyed again. He closed his eyes and, after calming himself, slammed his palm on the table again. A loud clatter made the inkstone jump. Amidst the clatter, he gritted his teeth and said, “Grind the ink!”

Yin Sanren’s slender figure flashed out of thin air in response. She walked lightly to the desk, took a quick look at the interior, then smiled and turned her gaze to Li Xun’s face.

Li Xun turned his head away, as if looking at the snowy scene outside the window. He ignored her and did not repeat his words.

Yin Sanren didn’t care. She gently stretched out her bare hands, spread out the paper, and placed a paperweight. Then, with her left hand, she swung a whisk, resting it on the crook of her right arm. Her pinky finger gently hooked upward through the sleeve, revealing a forearm as white as jade.

She picked up the ink stick, her index finger resting on the tip, her thumb and middle finger tucked between her, and slowly rubbed it with the most standard technique. She seemed completely unaware that this was the core of the Mingxin Sword Sect. Her every move was relaxed and at ease, without the slightest hint of being ordered around.

Moreover, compared to Li Xun, her technique for grinding the ink was far more refined. Her grinding was smooth and silent, and though it was just a few back-and-forth movements, the

circuitous movements exuded a sense of tranquility and beauty. Li Xun caught sight of it and couldn’t pull it out again. He felt his restless mood calm slightly as his jade-like hand moved the black ink.

He unconsciously sat down at the table and picked up his brush. The pointed tip of the wolf-hair brush absorbed the ink, gradually turning jet black. Gazing at the snow-white paper, he gathered his composure

and, picking up the brush, wrote the six characters “Forbidden Method Secret Essentials Directly” in medium regular script at the right edge of the white paper. From the moment he put pen to paper, he felt his inner turmoil pouring out with the movement of the brush tip, its sharp turns sharp and tense. However , when he reached the second character “directly,” the ink flowed more smoothly and evenly. While still vigorous and open, it also felt more restrained.

After a moment’s thought, he switched to a soft brush and continued writing, this time in small regular script. His restlessness melted away with the first six characters. His mind was now clear, and his thoughts soared. He wrote the nearly 1,000-word outline and preface in one breath, flowing like pearls and a chain, a source of great satisfaction.

Only with the final stroke did Li Xun let out a long sigh, his pent-up frustration finally dissipating. He put down his pen, about to savor the work before him, when Yin Sanren reached out and took it, gently blowing away the ink as he read. He only read a few lines before smiling.

“You’re being boastful, but you’re also genuinely knowledgeable. It’s rare to find such a profound and easy-to-understand approach… But do you really want to write these thoughts down?”

If Li Xun’s initial thought was merely a desire to assert his personal “status,” by the time he finished writing this preface, he had already settled his thoughts and truly desired to write a substantial piece. So, when Yin Sanren asked him, he nodded without hesitation, “It’s rare to have an idea, why not do it?”

While he said it, actually putting it into practice was far from as easy as it sounded.

His previous preface, written from a high perspective, was simple in style, merely providing the outline; it wasn’t particularly difficult.

As for the main text, Li Xun not only had to maintain a rigorous system, but also strived to keep the theory and prefaces within the scope of the Mingxin Forbidden Technique. This was a particular test of his ability to deductively work from the shallow to the deep, from the simple to the tenth.

As the night wore on and daylight began to break, Li Xun had revised the manuscript several times, but only managed to produce just over two thousand words, initially explaining the basics of the engraving, combination, and deduction of the forbidden patterns.

This small manuscript was far from the fluent flow of ideas he had experienced when writing the preface, but upon review, every word was still a gem, with the air of a master, and Li Xun was very satisfied. He felt that after a night of contemplation, his foundation in the forbidden techniques had been greatly strengthened.

Yin Sanren, who had been writing all night, also spent the rest of the night grinding ink beside him. Her demeanor was rare, calm and composed from beginning to end, and her grinding of ink was also quiet and tranquil, which was very pleasing to the eye, not tiring at all.

“Throughout the ages, scholars and distinguished guests have dreamed of reading by the side of a beautiful woman… Even now, with only the sight of a nun and the scent of ink, it still refreshes the mind, truly wonderful!”

With a rare sense of ease in his heart, Li Xun simply dropped his pen and stretched out, his entire body and soul feeling as if soaked in warm water, a profound comfort.

Yin Sanren smiled, his lips pursed. Just as he was about to speak, his expression shifted slightly, sending a message to Li Xun, and his figure vanished into thin air.

Li Xun continued stretching, but his joints froze. Just as Yin Sanren retreated, a familiar figure floated out the study window. It was undoubtedly Mingji.

Mingji, also a perceptive person, sensed Li Xun’s gaze and glanced in his direction. Several miles apart, through the window, they both smiled, though Li Xun was aware that his smile was a little strained.

As expected, being angry is not a good idea, and being angry with yourself is even more foolish. It is too risky to let Yin Sanren stay here!

While thinking, Mingji did not go through the main door, but slipped in directly from under the propped window, but he was still free and easy, and very beautiful. Li Xun could only smile bitterly, and hurriedly stood up to greet him. At the same time, he also noticed that Mingji was holding a sword in his hand, which must have been found for him from the sect’s treasure house.

Seeing Li Xun’s eyes move to the sword, Mingji smiled and handed it over: “The name of the sword is “Bitter Bamboo”, which is not well-known in this world, but the material is three points better than “Green Jade”. It is rare that the brilliance is restrained, and the intention and energy are used. The harmony should be far better than “Green Jade”. “

Li Xun thanked him hurriedly, then took the sword with both hands. He saw that the outer sheath of the sword was simple and plain, with a natural dry green bamboo color and no patterns. When the sword was drawn out, the sword body also had a restrained light. When the true breath was poured into it, a faint and clear light was emitted, which was not dazzling at all. The sword body vibrated subtly

, and the humming sword chant was even more pure. He also felt the lightness and heaviness of the sword body, and it was easy to use. He knew that Mingji had put a lot of effort into it, and was naturally grateful.

Mingji didn’t care about it, but just smiled and said, “I picked a good sword for you, but I still have to see if your ability is worthy of it… How about going outside to spar with you?”

Li Xun knew that he couldn’t escape this, so he could only agree. He sheathed the sword first, then turned around to tidy up the manuscripts on the table, but unexpectedly a hand stretched out from the side and pulled out the preface on it. Li Xun was stunned, then turned back with a wry smile and said, “Fourth Uncle…”

“What a boast!”

Mingji’s assessment was similar to someone else’s, though she was more frank. “I’m not familiar with forbidden techniques, but after reading this preface, I feel I’ve gained quite a bit… What about the rest?”

Li Xun hurriedly handed over the manuscript, smiling, “Uncle, please correct me.”

Mingji rolled his eyes and continued reading.

Li Xun’s current manuscript still covered the basics, something that even a novice disciple, not just Mingji, would be able to grasp. Of course, Mingji wouldn’t laugh at his superficial writing. In fact, after reading the insightful preface, Mingji understood Li Xun’s intentions.

He clearly wanted to create a comprehensive guide to forbidden techniques, from the most basic to the most profound.

This was undoubtedly a massive undertaking, not something that could be completed in a few days or even months, but would require years of dedicated effort.

With Li Xun’s immense talent, if he could complete it, even if it couldn’t rival the classics handed down by the Huixuan, Xingji, and Buyan sects, it would still be one of the Mingxin Sword Sect’s most valuable secrets, passed down through generations.

Mingji’s gleaming eyes flickered between Li Xun and the manuscript, even making him feel uneasy.

After a long pause, she sighed, “If you can produce this work as described in the preface, you’ll be on par with any of the sect’s predecessors…

” “Don’t say you’re unworthy; this is the truth. Hey, others write the main text first, then add the preface, but you’ve reversed it. I’m afraid you’ve already got it all figured out.”

Seeing her say this, Li Xun gave up, smiling and bowing. Such a resolute attitude spoke louder than any words.

Mingji said “OK”, put the manuscript back, and then put the hilt of the sword on his shoulder: “Don’t think about escaping! Even if you can write the “Secret Book of Star Transformation”, you can’t escape today… Let’s go, I want to see how much your cultivation has regressed!”

Li Xun’s thoughts were seen through by her, and he could only lower his head to look at the “Bitter Bamboo” sword in his hand, his face so bitter that water could drip out.
