Chapter 852: Eat the Insect Queen

Queen. In this three-way naval battle, the Blood Shark fleet, despite being the weakest and smallest, managed to incite the greatest anger.

But the very fact that they were causing the enemy frustration and difficulty was itself a testament to their success.

The troublemakers, the Blood Sharks, successfully completed the mission assigned to them by Gu Hang: hinder the Greenskins from destroying the Zerg Queen, prevent her escape, and wait for the main fleet to arrive and finish the job.

Of course, they couldn’t hold the enemy back indefinitely. As time passed, the Zerg Queen’s fleet gradually fell.

Even though the Zerg Queen had taken along her most important and elite biological vessels during her escape, she simply didn’t have enough to escape quickly.

The disparity in overall combat power, even with the constant disruption of the human fleet, couldn’t reverse the outcome.

However, Gu Hang wouldn’t be late forever.

Suddenly, a Greenskin junk ship was pierced by a dazzling beam of light, completely exploding.

Then came a volley of artillery fire!

These bombardments were primarily energy weapons, and they were generally extremely powerful.

Honestly, the hit rate in this salvo wasn’t very high, but any hits were enough to inflict immense damage.

At least four Ork warships were destroyed.

The Human main fleet had finally arrived!

Although they were still a bit far away, and although the hit rate at this range was questionable, only energy weapons could be delivered so quickly and easily, and they required high-powered artillery, at least L-class or higher… Precisely because of this, the damage inflicted by L-class, even X-class, and even higher, the Z-class heavy artillery equipped on the Glory Queen, was immense.

However, this was only the beginning.

As the Human fleet approached, their firepower would become even more ferocious and terrifying.

Leading the charge were the two Glory Queens.

To ensure the success of this operation, Gu Hang had no intention of dividing his forces. All three thousand warships he could muster were here.

While the numbers might seem modest, the quality was formidable.

With the two Glory Queens as the core, they comprised a force that even the Imperial Central Command would struggle to muster under most circumstances. At the very least, the Empire would need to find a way to mobilize the two founding chapters to join the battle with all their might.

Under normal circumstances, even if the Imperial Central Government had the intention, it wouldn’t necessarily be able to pull off such a move.

Beyond the two Glorious Queens, over forty massive warships were also a formidable force. A sector government could only manage one or two Imperial naval fleets. Forty ships—that’s a number that would require the combined efforts of three or four cosmic regions.

Given a little more time to close in, this naval force would be powerful enough to destroy both the insect and beast fleets.

However, this was Alma Ewing’s most tense moment.

The human fleet was still quite far away, and the previous volley of light spears had been quite limited.

If both the insect and beast factions realized their mistake and quickly separated, fleeing, it would be quite troublesome.

He knew that Gu Hang’s primary target was the Queen of the Insects. If the enemy truly swiftly ceased hostilities and fled, he would have to make a choice and find a way to intercept the Queen of the Insects fleet in that situation.

His fleet was also far behind the Queen’s in terms of quantity, quality, and scale. Unlike before, when he had the Greenskins’ “help,” he could simply block the attack and the Greenskins’ ships would immediately follow, allowing his ships to retreat.

Now, without the Greenskins, Ewing had to use his own ships as obstacles and give it his all. With the enemy desperately trying to escape, the consequences of doing so were unimaginable, and he might even be unable to stop them.

He was prepared for a huge sacrifice.

However, the current situation was the best possible outcome: neither side could escape easily.

The Queen, however, was absolutely rational and cold-blooded. All ships began to change their actions, some blocking the attack, others fighting desperately, all to allow the Queen’s biological ship to escape with all its might.

However, the Greenskins who were in the lead found it difficult to do so.

Perhaps the order to evacuate had been issued, but at least half the ships were still desperately attacking the Zerg fleet.

The Queen’s fleet was entangled, and in the end, only the few ships carrying the Queen herself managed to escape.

Ewing felt reassured!

He immediately commanded his fleet to block the attack.

The Queen’s fleet fought tooth and nail.

Bio-cannons, Zerg psychic suppression, targeted Warp Shadows… every available means was employed.

In a remarkably short time, the Blood Sharks lost two strike cruisers. The sudden extinguishing of energy shields, the psychic shock of the crew within, the full force of the bio-cannons…

these were powerful tactics, destroying two strike cruisers in a short period of time. Even the Blood Sharks’ flagship, the Ghost Shark, was hit several times, suffering damage to its hull.

The price was indeed heavy.

But he had blocked the Queen’s advance.

“Roar!”

Ewing could almost hear the Queen’s howl of discontent.

This sound, as if tangible, swept through the entire human fleet. The crew members suffered headaches, tinnitus, and vomiting…

But the Space Marines were far more resistant to such power than mortals. The Chapter’s Librarians and the Storm Mages seconded to the warships were also working tirelessly to offset the pressure.

Ewing himself felt a little unwell, and couldn’t help but sigh at the strength of the Zerg Queen.

Yet, he felt relieved.

Watching the Zerg Queen’s fleet once again snarled by the ferocious Ork junk ships, and watching the human ships closing in with all their might, bringing the enemy within range of conventional fire, he knew his mission was successfully accomplished.

Then, he saw the massive human fleet, led by two Glorious Queens, closing in. Their powerful firepower, barrage after barrage, rapidly decimated both the Zerg and Beast ships.

The Zerg Queen attempted a final stand.

The psychic force surged, but was easily shattered by Gu Hang’s attack.

Then, she tried to call upon the Warp Shadow to counter-block Gu Hang’s psychic power.

But the Warp Shadow essentially relies on the huge number of Zerg to form a soulless black hole, isolating the Warp. However, how could the number of Zerg units that the Queen could control now be enough?

Shielding a few ordinary psychics might be enough. But for Gu Hang, it was meaningless.

When all the green ships that failed to escape were destroyed, all the biological ships were also destroyed, leaving only the last giant ship riddled with holes that housed the Queen, Gu Hang ruthlessly gave the order.

Ten thousand cannons fired, and the biological ship was completely destroyed.

Immediately afterwards, Gu Hang’s psychic power roared away.

He caught a “little thing”.

At this time, the Queen had not yet given up hope of survival. Putting aside everything, she condensed the most important information into a small piece of shell.

But Gu Hang, who had dealt with the Queen before, would not be fooled so easily.

He caught the Queen with his psychic power.

Then, he “ate” it.
