Chapter 847: Mr. Gu has a huge appetite!

After fighting alongside his brother Chapter, the Iron Fist Ambassadors, again after many years, Chapter Master of the Steel Butchers, Bachel, has completely let go of his

past. The Brotherhood’s fortunes are improving across the board. The men and equipment are Alliance, but so what?

The Chapter adheres to its own unique tactical fighting style, and with superior personnel, numbers, and equipment, it can maximize its advantages.

The Chapter’s culture is consistently passed down. From the names engraved on their armor to the roaring salutes at the end of battle, Bachel witnessed and remembered them. Even

the Chapter’s command is composed entirely of veterans. Owei still holds the position of Chapter Master, and all command positions within the Chapter are filled with veterans.

Of course, some new recruits from the Alliance have risen to high positions. There’s a Company Commander and a Technical Sergeant Major. There are also a few other Master Sergeants and Flag Sergeants. But the new recruits who have achieved such positions are all elite. Furthermore, beyond their own exceptional abilities, those chosen are often chosen because they are admired by Owe. Such individuals are often recognized by the Chapter Master as “in-house,” carrying on the Chapter’s culture.

So, what is there to worry about?

It wasn’t just the internal situation within the Iron Fist Ambassadors that reassured Bachel; the relationship between the two Chapters also reassured him. Although the Iron Fist Ambassadors’ recruits were predominantly new—nearly 90%—the veterans of the Cyborg Butchers were strangers to them, after fighting side by side, the more the Cyborg Butchers viewed these familiar yet unfamiliar members of their brother Chapter with scrutiny, the more they felt a sense of familiarity far outweighing any unfamiliarity.

Their backgrounds might differ; unlike the veteran Iron Fist Ambassadors, many of the new recruits were simply recruited from their own homeworld. However, the traits and personalities they displayed were indistinguishable from those of the veteran Iron Fist Ambassadors.

The warriors of the two Chapters still had much in common. The Iron Fist Ambassador’s new recruits were eager to listen to the Cyborg Butcher’s veterans recount their shared battles. The Cyborg veterans, listening to the Iron Fist recruits’ recount their combat philosophies and heritage, felt a lingering reminiscence. Those young faces gradually resonated with the “old guard” they remembered.

That’s how a bond was forged.

In the future, the two Chapters would remain steadfast brothers.

Bachelor was already reflecting.

He felt his previous doubts about the Alliance were misguided.

The Chapter had clearly signed an agreement to join the Dark Side Crusade and accept full authority from the Space Marine Administration Association, yet it openly and covertly resisted all Alliance assistance and missions. This was a rather schizophrenic move, offering no practical benefit and only bringing negative consequences.

He resolved to cooperate effectively from this moment on. He

hoped that in the future, Cyborg Butcher would receive the same treatment as the Iron Fist Ambassador.

If the Alliance could provide comprehensive support, from troop replenishment to equipment resupply, the Cyborg Butchers would be able to quickly return to their peak.

And they wouldn’t have to worry about losses.

Even the most brutal battle would ensure the Chapter was fully resupplied afterward.

He eagerly anticipated that moment.

…

The Forward, the Glorious Queen battleship, was currently the headquarters of the Western Expeditionary Force.

Gu Hang was aboard.

News of the victory in the Battle of Syrwind had arrived. Along with the battle report, a personal letter from Chapter Master Batchelor of the Cyborg Chapter arrived, expressing his humility and loyalty.

Gu Hang, of course, accepted this and swiftly wrote a gentle, reassuring letter, promising that the Alliance would have time to provide them with support after the war.

At that moment, Gu Hang saw the Cyborg Butchers’ name appear in his Chapter list.

That meant another two thousand Space Marine gene-seed slots were available.

The Steel Butcher was also the first of the seven chapters encountered in the Forward Realm to be recognized by the system.

Even before the Alliance’s arrival, the seven remaining chapters in the Forward Realm had already accepted Taishichen’s command and joined the United Front. They even signed agreements to join the Space Marine Management Association one after another.

However, whether or not a chapter’s status could be seen in the system interface wasn’t necessarily determined by the signing of the agreement, but rather by the genuine acceptance of the Alliance by everyone from the chapter’s management to the rank and file. Of

course, 100% loyalty wasn’t required, but at least a minimum level of overall loyalty was required to be recognized by the system and offered gene-seed quotas. It

was still relatively new for these seven chapters, and it wasn’t surprising that no one had yet surrendered.

He estimated that the seven remaining chapters in the Forward Realm would surrender faster than the dozen or so under Magley.

The reason was not particularly significant: their situation was even more dire, and the current state of the war had already forced them to align with the Alliance and even accept the unified command of the expeditionary force. Compared to the dozen or so Chapters encountered in Magre, their objective conditions for surrender were more favorable.

Of course, the presence of a Chapter like the Steel Butchers, the first to emerge, was a positive development.

They were already relatively well-off among the seven remaining Chapters. Their exemplary role model would encourage other Chapters to quickly follow suit, spurring them on.

Space Marine Chapters are indeed quite useful.

This isn’t just about their demonstrated combat effectiveness, but also their organizational structure.

It must be said that the so-called “Space Marine Codex,” while laden with criticism and severely limiting the power of the Space Marines, also greatly facilitated Gu Hang’s work.

Gu Hang still viewed them as petty separatist warlords.

Honestly, subjectively speaking, few Space Marine Chapters were fearful of battle. They were, of course, loyal warriors with a deep sense of honor, placing the Imperium, humanity, honor, and loyalty above all else.

Yet, in many cases, they were forced to act on their own. While considering war and the interests of the Imperium, they also had to consider the interests of their own Chapters.

Can the Chapter survive? Can it achieve further development?

Even if it’s just a matter of whether they can better fight for the Empire in the future, the Chapter’s sustainable development must be considered.

This inevitably leads to the emergence of so-called “warlord” behavior: self-preservation, self-interest, suspicion of outsiders, and reluctance to allow outsiders to interfere in the Chapter…

But they only “act” like warlords, not actual warlords.

As long as they can resolve the Chapter’s life-or-death worries, their will to fight is unquestionable.

On this basis, Gu Hang can be open-minded and provide each Chapter with whatever it wants.

Want men? Want equipment?

That’s the basics.

Want to maintain the original Chapter structure?

No problem.

Chapter culture, chapter style, anything.

Even the command and officers… all veterans of the Chapter, with the Chapter firmly under the control of the original group, Gu Hang doesn’t mind.

As long as they’re fighting for the Dark Side Crusade and the Alliance, Gu Hang has no objection.

As long as their names are listed in the system, which means they have a basic level of loyalty, allowing Gu Hang to quickly replenish the Chapter through gene-seed exchange without worrying about losses, then that’s all that’s needed.

As for complete control over the Chapter?

Gu Hang isn’t a control freak; he’s not interested.

Just fighting is enough. If the Chapter needs these other things to maintain their loyalty, Gu Hang will give them all without hesitation.

He’s not afraid of them rebelling anyway.

Besides, if they take my troops, then easily 50%, 60%, or even 80%, or 90% of the Chapter’s troops will be Alliance members trained by the Political Commissars. How could they rebel so easily?

Those new recruits were willing to accept the Chapter’s legacy and fight under orders from the higher-ups. In idle moments, they were undoubtedly the Chapter’s finest successors. But if the thought of rebellion lingered, would these recruits follow the veterans?

Impossible!

Gu Hang was confident.

…

Retracting his thoughts, Gu Hang returned his focus to the current battle.

The human army had fully entered the Ohmgeria sector, intervening in this massive Zerg-Beast war.

His eyes swept across the strategic star map, a blue light etched deep in his pupils. The holographic projection hovering in the center of the command room precisely outlined the battlefield situation in the Ohmgeria sector. Sixteen red arrows pierced the periphery of the sector from different directions, converging on the Zerg-Beast decisive battle zone marked as the Ankachi sector.

The human expeditionary force was encircling the main battlefield from the periphery.

Such a bold decision!

The Zerg and Greenskins, already in constant fear throughout the Advancing Universe, were already roiling in panic. Just a few of the overflowing forces from their mutual battles had already caused several sectors to tremble in panic. But when Gu Hang arrived with the main force of the expeditionary force, the strategy he adopted was a comprehensive encirclement, as if he wanted to swallow both sides in one breath… Mr. Gu’s appetite is too big!

But Gu Hang ignored these voices.

The local forces in these star fields were all in a panic. Many people wrote to Gu Hang through various channels, hoping that he would act cautiously.

But Gu Hang ignored these voices.

The two Glorious Queens led a team of 5,000 warships of all levels, of which there were more than 60 battleships above the level of battlecruisers, which could be called giant ships. There were a total of 18 real battleships and aircraft carriers.

Such a naval force, coupled with more than 13,000 Space Marines, the Chapter Fleet, and the huge Alliance Army…

More importantly, Gu Hang was in charge!

With such power, why couldn’t they swallow those two in one breath?

When the Chief of Staff wrote down his comments on the tactical board, Gu Hang had already retrieved the training records of the newly formed Chapter. In the holographic image, armored battle-brothers were practicing assault formations, their power armor etched with the heraldry of numerous different Chapters.

Gu Hang closed the Space Marine reorganization schedule and pointed his finger at the coordinates of the space station in the Ankachi sector: “Have the Forge World accelerate the modular production of the orbital fortress.”

A flood of information unfolded on the holographic screen, and countless strategic nodes lit up simultaneously. The troops led by Tai Shichen were establishing the fourth blockade, and Pilias’s technical team had just completed the deployment of the third batch of void mines.

“The launch time for the general offensive remains as planned.” His finger pierced the holographic projection, drawing three purple lines from Ankachi. “Tell the Red Steel Fury Chapter I need them to sever the Greenskins’ secondary supply lines within seventy-two hours.”

“Target the Zerg’s key hatching worlds and dispatch the Blood Sharks’ stealth assault craft there.” Gu Hang drew a cross in the northwest corner of the star map. “Allow the Titan Legions of the Steelforge Mechanicum to cooperate; they must also contribute.”

“Have the Eagle Vanguard increase the transmission of intelligence regarding the decisive battle between Zerg and Orks in the Ankachi sector, and dispatch a mage regiment there to maintain psychic contact.”

The combat staff quickly dissected the instructions, and the communicators synchronized the orders to the various command levels required to receive them.

Gu Hang, with patient and methodical assistance from the staff at the headquarters, orchestrated the human army’s strategic operations.

He gradually tightened his belt, ignoring unimportant areas and blocking key nodes, all the while weakening the Zerg and Ork forces.

Furthermore, he constantly adjusted his strategy based on intelligence transmitted back from the front lines. If the Greenskins show strength, weaken them more; if the Zerg are strong, intercept their reinforcements.

In short, try to maintain a balance between them. Overall

, the Greenskins are currently in the majority of decisive battles. The Bone Crusher King lives up to his reputation. With his presence, the Zerg seem somewhat overwhelmed.

For this reason, the Human army’s current actions are primarily directed against the Greenskins.

Balancing the forces between them is crucial.

Even if Gu Hang is confident that he can defeat the Zerg and the Greenskins head-on with this massive army, perhaps one of the greatest assembled at once since the Emperor’s Ascension and the end of the Imperial Civil War,

the cost would likely be substantial.

On the other hand, while they’re fighting tooth and nail, weakening both sides simultaneously and creating an opening for the Human army to advance and reap the spoils is a great opportunity to minimize casualties.

As for whether they can see or sense this… of course they can.

But they likely won’t be able to spare the time to care about the Humans while locked in a desperate struggle.

If they did so, once the battle with the human army intensified, they might be able to counterattack. The human army’s rope-pulling power wasn’t very strong at the moment, and the threat posed by the enemy, who were already in a life-or-death situation, wasn’t as great.

And even if they did so, it would simply put them in a situation where Gu Hang could solve the entire situation head-on at once, which wasn’t a bad thing.

What Gu Hang was truly waiting for was a window of opportunity.
