Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 723
Chapter 721, Wang’s Trading Company
Chapter 721:
Jason Morgan of Wang’s Trading Company’s various tactics in the Fox Moon Star Region are essentially about dividing the pie.
This is, of course, crucial. The benefits of production capacity should be controlled by the Alliance. Otherwise, it will be controlled by the Empire’s inefficient bureaucracy, as it was in the past. How can the Alliance concentrate its efforts on major projects? How can it collect sufficient tax revenue to meet the needs of the Empire while also leaving enough to develop the local economy?
However, simply dividing the pie is certainly not enough.
While Jason Morgan has mastered the Fox Moon Star Region and managed various factions, he hasn’t forgotten to expand the pie.
Development is the key.
And in this regard, he has a unique advantage: Jindi Star and the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region.
The two are essentially one and the same.
He has worked in the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region for many years, and its development is inseparable from the Mingyang Sect. He has traveled to Jindi Star countless times, making many friends and personally negotiating numerous partnerships.
These tactics can also be used in Fox Moon.
Discussing cooperation with Jindi Star is a bit far-fetched; it’s too far away; however, Aramita isn’t far away, so it’s still possible to discuss it.
Another possibility is the relocation of industries that benefit from technological spillover from the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region.
This is something the Alliance Central Committee has been encouraging. The
Alliance’s core regions are producing high-value products and upgrading their industries. Naturally, there needs to be somewhere to take over the reduced production capacity. Forcing the core regions to do the same is not ideal. Even for some people who can’t enter high-end industries, it’s more reasonable to shift to service industries or supporting industries.
As the “old leader” of the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region, he can easily absorb the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region’s overflow production lines.
Several industries could be relocated to the Fox Moon Star Region.
He has already decided to build a new industrial center in the Nine Maiden Star Region, the southernmost of the Fox Moon Star Region.
Nine Maiden has a natural locational advantage, being relatively close to Alfonzo’s Aramita Forge World to the south. In the past, it has undertaken a lot of resource processing, serving as a supplier to Alfonzo’s three Forge Worlds.
This meant that the Nine Maidens region already had a substantial industrial base.
And the industries he had transferred from the Steel and Fire Dragon region precisely required this foundation to succeed.
The most valuable of these was the production technology for some common Titan components;
this not only introduced an industrial line, but also a complete set of technical specifications. This meant that, with sufficient industrial infrastructure, this industry line could be expanded.
These Titan components were of considerable value to the Aramita Forge World.
This single industry alone could immediately employ millions of people. Hundreds of thousands of these highly productive individuals could spawn a series of supporting industries, including processing, energy, and services… the entire planet would benefit.
With subsequent expansion of production lines, the radiating effects would be even greater.
Of course, this was just one of the industries transferred from the Steel and Fire Dragon region. There were others, while less technologically demanding, that were perfectly suited to the Nine Maidens region’s industrial base and suitable for working for Aramita.
Working for a Forge World was a path Jason Morgan had taken before, and he was familiar with it.
However, relying solely on the Titan parts manufacturing industry is certainly not enough to support the development of an entire star region.
Jason’s goal is to transform the Nine Maidens Star Region into a star industrial center within ten years.
Fortunately, his wife had served as the principal of Zhongsi College at the Alliance Central Committee for many years, and her network was quite solid. As a veteran of the Alliance, he also knew quite a few people.
Combining these two factors, he was able to secure a significant investment from the Alliance’s overall industrial support project for the nine star regions of the Spider Web Universe: the Camel-class civilian transport production line.
The Camel-class isn’t particularly large, slightly larger than the Flying Dolphin and significantly smaller than the Whale-class. It’s not a warship, so the production value isn’t as high.
But, after all, a civilian ship is still a starship!
Shipbuilding, as the ultimate industry, a true heavy manufacturing industry, possesses the defining characteristic of ultimate industries: immense integration.
From raw materials to industrial processing to the energy industry, and with a massive workforce, it will also drive a surge in various consumer goods and service industries.
Even a modest civilian transport ship like the Camel-class has a price tag of 50 million per vessel.
Simply increasing annual production by a few ships would be a significant improvement.
Using the money directly as taxes is fine;
those who are wealthy can also collect it to develop the civil aviation industry, build merchant ships, expand the size of the caravan within the star region, and speed up the flow of goods within the star region. This will greatly benefit the economic development of the entire star region.
The ship carrying the relevant technical blueprints and equipment is about to arrive.
Jason Morgan, and even many locals in the Fox Moon star region, are eagerly awaiting it.
Jason also knows that the caravan responsible for transporting this equipment comes from the second largest trading company in the alliance, the Wang Trading Company.
Its scale is second only to the largest, the Gu Trading Company.
In fact, it was originally spun off from the Gu Trading Company and received significant investment from the latter.
It owns dozens of fleets and has transported supplies and personnel for the frontline troops during the war without regrets. During the intervals between battles, when there is still room, it strives to maintain trade between the alliance and the outside world and earn funds. Now, it has taken on the responsibility of transporting industrial relocation.
More importantly, Jason Morgan had heard that the caravan passing through the Fox Moon Star Region was exceptionally large, and wasn’t simply transporting equipment and technology to Fox Moon. It would also bring in and take away a significant amount of supplies. After passing through the Fox Moon Star Region, it would continue northward, ultimately concluding a trade agreement with the Devouring Star Region.
The destination of this trade was the renowned “Infinite Star Region.” Ultra 500 Stars shone brightly in the history of the Human Empire, once home to the largest Infinite Legion during the Legion Era. Although the Legion has been disbanded, the Infinite Warband, one of the founding groups, still guards the region from Ultra Star, its capital, as its home planet. The
Infinite Star Region lies southwest of the Devouring Star Region, part of the Transfinite Universe, also part of the Empire’s eastern border. The distance from the Transfinite Universe to the northern Spider Web Universe isn’t particularly far. Despite being separated by the Devouring Star Region, it doesn’t require traversing the entire Devouring Star; it can simply cut in from the southwest corner.
They came to do business with the Alliance, which naturally meant the Infinite Legion.
In the last war, a company of the Infinite Legion was saved by the Alliance. After fighting side by side and finishing the entire war, they forged a friendship.
This trade is a testimony to friendship.
So, in order to show solemnity, the caravan sent out by Wang’s Trading Company this time was led by a heavyweight figure – Ms. Wang Jiarong.
As the head of Wang’s Trading Company and also the cousin of Governor Gu, she is already the most solemn person in the Alliance who can get away and run so far.
Jason Morgan also has some thoughts.
He really hopes to meet Wang Jiarong. It doesn’t need to be long, just chat for more than ten minutes. If she loses a little, he can have a full meal.
