Chapter 708, Sacred Artifact Technology

These over 100 million Boon Points were earned almost entirely through victories in war.

Martins supported the Western Front, and the Alliance became one of the main forces involved in the final decisive battle there, essentially defeating and annihilating the Iron Armor.

The Alliance independently entered the Princess Star Region from the southeast, fighting the Zerg all the way. From rescuing the remnants of the northern front to intercepting Zerg reinforcements… these successive battles provided a considerable amount of Boon Points.

The final, and ultimately the largest, of course, came from victory in the Second Battle of Readuches.

Through this successive victory, the accumulated Boon Points reached 120 million.

Gu Hang intended to use 20 million as resources for future development.

Once the Alliance plan was approved, he would use all of this to cultivate talent in production, management, and R&D, as well as to exchange for numerous factories, colleges, and research institutes. This would allow for a rapid expansion of production, allowing him to rapidly rebuild the new planets within the Alliance while also coping with high taxation.

He intended to spend the bulk of the remaining 100 million Grace Points on what had always been the most costly of all: technology extraction.

The good news was that he had a whopping 100 million Grace Points.

The bad news was that he had already drained the million-level prize pool.

While Elite and Advanced technologies still had a decent chance of dropping, and even Epic-level

technologies still had a chance of dropping, the improvement these levels offered to the current Alliance was quite limited. While extracting some Epic-level technology wouldn’t be useless, it would only be icing on the cake.

Apocalypse-level technology was the most crucial.

Unfortunately, the probability of dropping Apocalypse-level technology in the million-level tier was less than 1%.

So, he could only move up to the 10 million-level tier , where

the probability of Apocalypse-level technology was 30%. With 100

million Grace Points, he could complete ten consecutive draws.

Gu Hang was eager to get a top-tier item.

He clicked repeatedly, his eyes closed, and the 100 million Grace Points flowed away like water.

During the fourth battle, an apocalyptic-level technology emerged.

[Apocalyptic Technology: Relic Technology]

After a careful examination, Gu Hang discovered that this technology category allowed the creation of “relic”-level weapons.

The value of relic items was truly extraordinary. The Spear and Shield of Ortaubis, wielded by Lou Salilius, were both relic items. While his combat power might be comparable to Martins’, with these two pieces of equipment, he was virtually guaranteed victory.

Marshal Leroy of the Black Crusade, meanwhile, wielded the “Holy Sword,” which played a crucial role in the second battle. Without it, he likely wouldn’t have been able to slay the Hive Overlord.

Without that victory, humanity’s breakthroughs would have been far more costly and time-consuming.

Even relic-level equipment, weapons, and items would be helpful to Gu Hang. Items like scepters and swords that enhance psychic power would receive a significant boost, even at Gu Hang’s level.

Although it wasn’t much, it was already quite rare for him to feel the clear improvement now.

Sacred objects were extremely helpful in strengthening cutting-edge combat power.

However, after reviewing the manufacturing requirements, Gu Hang felt they were quite demanding.

Generally speaking, the creation of a normal sacred relic requires not only top-notch materials, state-of-the-art craftsmanship, and the creation of a top-notch weapon, but more crucially, it must undergo a pivotal event, becoming a significant part of a heroic feat or grand scene.

For example, in a decisive battle for the survival of a galaxy, the enemy leader is slain; or perhaps a hero, alone on the battlefield, consuming the blood of countless aliens and turning the tide of a crucial battle…

From that point on, it meets the basic requirements for becoming a sacred relic.

However, it’s not yet considered a sacred relic. It must undergo centuries of nurturing, requiring significant figures to carry and wield it, and millions to celebrate its legacy, imbuing it with ritual and symbolic significance.

Only after this immense time can it be elevated to become a symbol of conviction, faith, and emotion, transforming into a sacred relic.

In Gu Hang’s view, it essentially symbolizes a weapon, perhaps even elevated to the point of bearing a mark within the Warp, possessing the very essence of the Warp. The properties and efficacy of a relic are often mysteriously yet directly linked to the momentous event that forged it and the impressions etched upon it by people over the ages.

Producing it from a black box is considerably simpler.

No major event or lengthy nurturing is required.

However, unlike other technologically advanced black boxes, which simply require basic materials, it’s not as simple as turning stone into gold.

Besides the common materials needed to transmute stone into gold, it requires something else: the very essence of the Warp.

This isn’t something a black box can conjure; it can’t simply be created by injecting energy or random materials.

But Gu Hang can.

His Storm Kingdom possesses the lesser divine power of the Warp. While cutting off a portion would lose some of the Kingdom’s essence, it would still be genuine Warp essence, capable of being used to craft relic crafting.

The lost portion would require the consumption of powerful psychic units or the Kingdom’s long-term self-upgrade and self-repair to restore it.

Is it worth it?

It’s still quite cost-effective.

Forgetting about giving it to others, just crafting a psychic-enhancing relic scepter for myself would significantly increase my psychic power, far outweighing the loss of the Kingdom’s essence.

Crafting a holy sword for Martins would also significantly increase combat power.

Gu Hang would still craft some.

However, the crafting speed… is quite poor.

The finished black box can be used to produce a “relic” at a rate of about one every two years. The shape can be chosen—a firearm, a sword, a battle axe… but the finished product is relatively small, meaning it’s mostly limited to personal use.

While mass production wouldn’t be possible due to the consumption of the Storm Kingdom’s warp essence, the low production rate of one every two years left Gu Hang somewhat disappointed—his plan to wholesale the relic when needed had failed.

As for the mother machine black box… it wasn’t there. It was a set of design blueprints, meant to teach people how to manufacture it and how to perform special rituals to expedite the creation of the relic. The significance lies in lowering the standards for major events, and even using the power of propaganda and public opinion to artificially create them; it can also reduce the subsequent incubation period of hundreds of years, from one hundred to fifty.

Is it useful?

Of course it is useful.

It’s just a bit useless.

After slightly suppressing his disappointment, Gu Hang continued to draw.
