Chapter 681: Victory of Psychic Power

Under the pressure of the four neurozoa, is there any way to reverse it?

Gu Hang has no good plan for the psychic confrontation.

If he relaxes even a little, a neurozoa might be exposed. In a naval battle, if a sudden attack tears through the void shield of a giant Alliance ship, the Zerg fleet can severely damage it with a wave of concentrated fire.

Losing a ship is unacceptable.

It is not only a huge loss, but also directly affects the outcome of the war.

Since there is no way to fight against psychic energy, then the solution must naturally be found in the real universe.

The good news is that the human fleet has the upper hand in the naval battle. Gu Hang seems to be able to count on Ye Lishiya commanding the fleet to destroy the Zerg Hive Fleet while he blocks the psychic invasion of the neurozoa.

In particular, he can first destroy the biological ship carrying the four neurozoa.

Gu Hang also reported their locations to Ye Lishiya.

Indeed, one ship was destroyed.

However, this also demonstrates another characteristic of bio-ships: they can die, but they won’t explode.

Unlike human or greenskin ships, which often experience a series of internal explosions after sustaining significant damage, this isn’t limited to the ammunition bays, power bays, and engine bays. Numerous vulnerable areas within a ship are charged with energy. These areas could not only explode, but could also trigger a chain reaction, causing internal systems to heat up beyond critical levels, leading to explosions elsewhere.

But not with bio-ships.

The repeated barrage, especially those that penetrate the armor and inflict significant damage, would certainly cause cumulative damage, ultimately succumbing to the bio-ship’s inability to recover, but internal explosions were rare.

It’s not impossible, for example, a human blast could hit some high-energy bio-cannon fuel converted from biomass.

But the probability is extremely low, and even if an explosion did occur, the effects within the “solid” bio-ship wouldn’t be as dramatic as a detonation in a human ship’s ammunition depot.

Under these circumstances, as long as the neurozoa aren’t in such a dangerous location, they’ll be less susceptible.

Even if the bio-ship dies, its massive interior can still maintain activity for a considerable period. The neurozoa can remain in that supposedly safe place, continuing their psychic confrontation with Gu Hang.

Unless the human ship’s heavy artillery fire pierces the bio-ship exactly where the neurozoa are located, it would be difficult to eliminate them.

Furthermore, the neurozoa are carried on the largest, sturdiest, and most powerful bio-battleships. They are located at the very heart of the Zerg fleet and heavily guarded, making their elimination even more difficult.

All these factors combined make it extremely difficult to directly eliminate the neurozoa in the real universe, thereby affecting the psychic confrontation.

In fact, Ye Lishia has made such an attempt.

Under her command, the human ships patiently stripped away the smaller vessels surrounding a bio-battleship loaded with neurozoa. Then, several battleships suddenly advanced, creating an angle from which to focus their fire on the bio-battleship.

The effect was remarkable; before the bio-battleship could call for more ships to close the gaps in the array, it was destroyed by the concentrated fire of the human battleships.

The human fleet paid a price. Several battleships that ventured forward to seek better angles also came under the Zerg’s concentrated fire. The battlecruiser Yuehe’s void shields were overloaded, and several heavy artillery shells pounded the ship, one of which struck a vital part, disintegrating it. Despite

the heavy price paid, a victory was achieved: the enemy bio-battleship was destroyed, a relatively acceptable loss in terms of damage. However, Ye Lixia’s greatest hope—to eliminate a neurozoa and relieve Gu Hang’s pressure—was not achieved. The worm continued to fight Gu Hang inside the slain bio-battleship.

A complete solution was possible: a few capital ships could launch another strategic risk, risking the loss of another battlecruiser, or even a battleship, to completely blast the already-destroyed bio-battleship to pieces.

This would ensure that no matter where the neurozoan was hiding within the bio-battleship, it would be unstoppable.

While sacrificing a battlecruiser to destroy the “corpse” of a bio-battleship seemed foolish, Ye Lisia was already seriously considering its feasibility. Just

then, Gu Hang’s voice echoed in her ears:

“Be patient, focus on the naval battle. Don’t worry about the psychic confrontation; I’ll have a plan.”

Ye Lisia heard it.

She felt a little reluctant, but she wasn’t the type to act on her own. No matter how much she worried, she ultimately refrained from acting rashly. She set aside the psychic confrontations, which even someone like her, with no psychic talent, could sense and even witness, and focused on commanding her fleet.

Occasionally, psychic confrontations could leak out of the Warp in space, appearing and disappearing like dazzling rainbow waves the size of a planet.

But Ye Lisia ignored them.

Returning to pure fleet command, the Human fleet maintained its advantage.

While the most powerful biological battleships hadn’t been destroyed in a short period of time, and both sides were merely trading damage between smaller vessels, the Human fleet clearly held the upper hand. With greater firepower, they suffered less damage. Some, facing increased void shield pressure, could be micromanaged to pull them back, waiting for their shields to recover. The Zerg fleet would do the same, but under the Humans’ superior firepower, their margin for error was much smaller.

Furthermore, the Humans’ void shields could be quickly repaired, and damaged armor on biological ships could be regenerated and replaced by the biomass within the vessels. However, differentiating the corresponding tissues and organs requires not only a large amount of biomass, but also some hard materials to match. Even more difficult, evolving armored organs takes time, and is definitely much slower than the recovery rate of a human void shield.

Don’t seek any surprising tactics; just fight slowly, gradually expanding your gains until you reach the equilibrium point between the two sides. That’s when you’ll reap all the spoils.

As long as there aren’t any surprises in the psychic confrontation, the outcome of this war won’t be a surprise.

Ye Lishiya has this confidence.

…

What method does Gu Hang have in a psychic confrontation?

Actually, he doesn’t have one.

If he had, he would have used it long ago.

But Gu Hang does have a way to reverse the situation. It’s not just to comfort Ye Lishiya, nor is it to risk his entire fortune on a gambling table with very low odds.

Gu Hang’s method was still within the real universe.

However, it began in the Warp.

There, amidst the intense psychic confrontation that had driven even the indigenous demons of the Warp to flee, there lay a ship.

Enveloped in Gu Hang’s psychic energy, it hid on the back of the Storm Kingdom, undetected and unaffected.

Gu Hang sent a message to the ship, asking, “Captain Su Lie, are you ready?”

Su Lie gave him an affirmative reply.

A moment later, a massive rift tore through the veil between the Warp and the real universe!

This rift appeared right in the middle of the Zerg fleet.

Immediately afterwards, a majestic warship emerged from the Warp rift.

Although the ship bore many traces of battle, its majestic form, the phoenix wings flaring on either side of its bow, was breathtaking.

This was the flagship of the Phoenix Chapter, a Glorious Queen-class battleship—the Phoenix Crown—designed by the Emperor himself ten thousand years ago and meticulously crafted by the Grand Magi of the Mechanicum of Mars as the flagship of the Space Marine Legion.

The Phoenix Crown’s most powerful bow cannon, the ten-thousand-year-old Holy Martial Cannon, pierced the underside of a biological battleship loaded with neurozoa, piercing it with a yawning blow!

Not only was the thick armor of the biological battleship instantly pierced, but so too were the hulls within—no, more than just piercing. This bow cannon possessed some kind of miraculous technology, combining the characteristics of both an energy weapon and a macro-cannon. The hulls behind the punctured area were shattered by the scattered energy and fragmented solid shells!

With just this one volley, the entire biological battleship was “killed.”

Simultaneously, the neurozoa within, engaged in a psychic confrontation with Gu Hang, was also struck.

It didn’t even have time to draw back its psychic energy to protect itself before being annihilated.

With one psychic opponent gone, Gu Hang’s pressure was instantly reduced.

Although he still couldn’t do anything, at least the vicious cycle of Storm Mages dying, a source of his greatest concern, had finally been contained.

But this wasn’t even the Glorious Queen-class’s limit. One of its broadsides was facing a bio-battleship loaded with neurozoa.

As the bow cannon opened fire, so too did the broadside.

While not as ferocious as the bow’s Holy Martial Cannon, the number was far greater.

Under the barrage of broadsides, the bio-battleship didn’t survive for long.

The Glorious Queen-class battleship was a top-tier warship far superior to battleships, considered a “holy relic” to the Empire. Its combat prowess was worthy of its title.

Phoenix Crown Feathers even had enough energy to slay the bio-battleship with its broadside fire, unleashing several more volleys of fire on the lifeless wreckage, completely destroying it and decimating the neurozoa within.

The broadside fire from the other side didn’t offer such good targets, but despite their indiscriminate fire, they still managed to destroy several bio-ships comparable in size to human cruisers.

The Zerg fleet’s formation was thrown into disarray.

Ye Lisia, having received advance warning, now witnessed the Zerg fleet’s disarray and issued a sharp and decisive order. The human fleet abandoned its offensive and defensive formation and began advancing at full speed.

Her actions provided excellent support for the Phoenix Crown Feathers. As the entire fleet pressed forward, the pressure on the Phoenix Crown Feathers would decrease. Simultaneously, the entire Zerg fleet would suffer heavy casualties in the chaos.

The most crucial change occurred on the psychic battlefield.

Almost instantly, without the pressure of the two neurozoa, Gu Hang’s psychic energy was unleashed and activated.

He once again tore through the subspace rift and launched countless Einherjar into a bio-battleship carrying neurozoa.

The sheer number of Heroic Spirits sent directly through the Warp rifts was too great to be matched by conventional psychic teleportation. Even the hatcheries within the bio-ships, already at full capacity, unleashed their Soldier Zerg to confront the Heroic Spirits, but it wasn’t enough.

Given more time, perhaps enough Zerg could hatch to defeat the Heroic Spirits.

But who would give them that much time?

The Zerg swarm feared no death, and coincidentally, neither did the Heroic Spirits. With frenzied energy, they pushed their front lines close to the Neurozoa.

Sensing the threat, the Neurozoa channeled a portion of its psychic power. With a single surge, it swept and annihilated the most advanced Heroic Spirit force.

However, even though the Heroic Spirits were dead, the Space Marines would not be so easily defeated.

Gu Hang also contacted the Shadow Chapter, which had been on standby, and with the power of psychic teleportation, they were instantly transported to the Neurozoa haunted by the Heroic Spirits.

This group of Space Marines, crafted from Phoenix DNA and proportionately enhanced to champion and paragon levels, skillfully blasted through the wall of flesh and blood and began to surround and kill the neurozoan.

Six hundred Shadow Warriors, sacrificing over two hundred, finally annihilated the neurozoan.

The final one proved far easier to deal with.

With only a single neurozoan remaining, Gu Hang’s psychic power reigned supreme. In the confrontation, the neurozoan was completely overwhelmed. Finally, Gu Hang annihilated its spirit and then, with a thunderbolt from heaven, destroyed its physical body.

Thus, Gu Hang triumphed completely in the psychic confrontation.

Turning back, he surveyed the battlefield from a higher dimension. The Zerg fleet continued its desperate resistance, and the human fleet, in its quest to destroy these bio-ships, was also paying a price.

But the losses on both sides were utterly disproportionate.

Gu Hang intended to push harder. Now completely freed, he could simply follow his previous method: tear open the Warp rift, deploy the Einherjar, and then cooperate with the Shadow Legion or other Space Marines to destroy those important bio-ships from within.

However, the Warp’s shadow enveloped him.

Across countless star systems, Gu Hang seemed to be able to meet the gaze of the Queen behind the shadow.

Its resentful eyes made Gu Hang chuckle.
