Chapter 652, only five percent?

Sidov and his troops weren’t close to the epicenter of the infection. But those bio-ships, capable of navigating the interstellar skies, were so massive that even from this distance, they could clearly see the stunning scene with their n*ked eyes.

Sidov himself was especially impressed.

His mechanical eye, with its optical zoom, allowed him to see even more clearly what was happening in the distance.

“Bio-ship…”

he muttered.

The massive biological structure, while not entirely clear to him, was at least clearly discernible.

It resembled a gigantic monster, with a massive head and a tail of long, tentacled tentacles. Its entire body was encased in a thick carapace.

Dozens of these bio-ships were visible!

This was his first time seeing such a thing, but that didn’t mean he didn’t understand what they were.

The emphasis in a bio-ship is on the “organism,” not the vessel. Calling it a ship simply aligns with a more human definition of its function. Essentially, it was a living organism, only so massive it could even soar through space. Within it lay a complete environment for Tyranids to survive, and depending on its purpose, it had evolved various organs, the equivalent of various facilities on a starship.

But why?

Logically, shouldn’t the existence of a Hive Mothership or a Queen be the only ones capable of evolving powerful Zerg creatures from biomass?

On Chitlu VI, not even a single true Void Zerg had been sighted. Even with abundant biomass, how could such a terrifying creature have emerged?

Sidoff’s limited knowledge was incomprehensible.

Soaring through the sky, it appeared slow, but in reality, it had already soared quite high and far in a short while.

Of course, humans couldn’t help but react during this journey.

Chitlu lacked a large-scale orbital battery, but it did have a fair share of basic anti-aircraft guns. When these artillery pieces began to fire fiercely into the sky, although the firepower was ineffective against its hard shell, the concentrated fire still managed to bring down two of them.

At the same time, Sidov saw fire descending from outer orbit, bombarding the biotic ships.

It must have been the Alliance destroyer that had recently been stationed in orbit around Chitlu VI, hastily arriving.

Its M-class firepower was quite effective against the biotic ships.

After the initial shock wore off, Sidov could see that these biotic ships were not as large as he had imagined. Each one was only about a kilometer long, making them even smaller than a Human frigate. While the

Zerg biotic ships’ carapaces were generally much harder than Human armor, and their internal structures, being fully organic, were not as easily destroyed as human ships, they also had a weakness: they lacked the added protection of void shields or energy shields. If attacked, they would have to withstand the onslaught.

While the kilometer-long biotic ships he was seeing could withstand S-class firepower, a destroyer’s M-class firepower could easily take them out with two rounds.

As far as Sidov knew, the Wind Treader—the name of the Raging Shark-class destroyer—was equipped with two Heat Hammer Macrocannons, a Sky-Splitting Axe Missile Launcher, and a Melting Light Lance.

Before the bio-vessels broke through the atmosphere and left orbit, the Wind Treader had already destroyed seven.

Once in space, the bio-vessels showed no interest in engaging the Summit Treader.

They scattered, accelerating away.

The Wind Treader, a Raging Shark-class destroyer accompanied by a Silver Sword-class frigate and four patrol vessels, was unable to catch up.

Days later, while cleaning up the battlefield on the ground, Sidov learned that the number of bio-vessels destroyed totaled over twenty. However, nearly ten escaped and are nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, after entering the former core infected zone alongside many friendly forces, Seedorf and his soldiers found it practically deserted. Of the hundreds of millions of infected in this area, only a few scattered individuals remained.

In this sense, the war on Chittoru VI was over.

They had achieved their original strategic objective; the threat within the planet had been eliminated.

The massive army presence was no longer necessary, and the locally drafted defense forces, comprising nearly 20% of the population, could be largely demobilized and returned to production. All that remained was to eliminate the remaining scattered infected and incinerate the slime swarms, flesh mats, and digestion pools left behind… In short, it was a matter of clearing the rubble and rebuilding the planet step by step.

None of this concerned Seedorf.

His mission was complete.

He had expected a ten-year struggle on this planet, but unexpectedly, it ended so cleanly in just two.

However, after witnessing over thirty bio-ships rise from the ground, most destroyed, but a dozen or so still escaping, Sidov wasn’t sure if it could be considered a victory.

…

Gu Hang believed that this unique battle on Qitulu, and many similar planets, could be considered a victory.

What happened on Qitulu was certainly not an isolated case.

Gu Hang had received similar reports in the Alfonzo Sector, including in the Nepeta Sector.

Worlds with large populations of infected seemed to have received a simultaneous command, recklessly absorbing all available biomass. The infected jumped into the digestion tanks themselves; plants, animals, and even large amounts of ordinary organic matter were also carried along by the infected.

Naturally, their losses in the process were enormous, just as they had on Qitulu. The infected, recklessly transforming biomass, completely handed the situation to the Alliance.

Many of them were annihilated before the transformation began. During the transformation process, many digestion tanks were destroyed, pipelines severed, and even the core infected areas were conquered.

However, their numbers were too great. On worlds severely infested and with vast numbers of infected, bio-ships inevitably transformed and soared into the sky.

These suffered heavy losses from anti-aircraft fire, orbital intercepts, and Alliance vessel pursuit.

While a number of bio-ships ultimately escaped, according to estimates by Gu Hang’s experts, scholars, and Mechanicum researchers, the bio-ships successfully carried away no more than 5% of the total biomass they had infected and controlled. While

those bio-ships may appear impressive, each one, roughly a kilometer in size, is roughly the size of a patrol vessel. Furthermore, they possessed virtually no combat capability, relying solely on their bio-mass to escape.

Even if they regrouped and, relying on this bio-mass, re-evolved fleets and armies, they wouldn’t be a formidable force and would be easily manageable.

However, this was the situation in the Alfonzo and Nepeta sectors.

What about the other sectors in the Arachnid sector, once controlled by Iron Armor, now plagued by widespread insect infestation?

The western and northern fronts were considered unimportant, and they only focused on advancing. What about those worlds left behind?

Just thinking about it makes Gu Hang shudder!

I have made up for my broken promise!

It’s not even dawn!
