Chapter 609: Marching into Alfonzo

. Gu Hang, who was sailing towards the Alfonzo star field, also received the news.

The final strategy of the alliance was to attack on two fronts.

The main reason was that the situation in the Jingjie star field was too shocking, and Gu Hang was really worried.

What would happen to the Alfonzo star field? Although this place has never been an occupied area of the Iron Armor and has always been the territory of the Mechanicus, the problem is that the Alfonzo sect has been an ally of the Iron Armor for more than a hundred years.

Although the Mechanicus is relatively independent due to its peculiar nature; and although the members of the Mechanicus are all human, the higher the members are, the less human-like their body structure is; in addition, no matter what, they are still a religious organization, believing in the God of All Machines who is one and the same as the God-Emperor…

Under the superposition of multiple factors, the corruption in the Alfonzo star field may be relatively better under objective conditions.

But there are also problems.

Archmagos Varluk was the supreme leader of the Alfonzo Cult, yet he was also the first to come into contact with the Zerg Queen larvae and personally conduct experiments on them.

Judging from his behavior, just when the doves within the Alfonzo Cult were about to gain the upper hand, he suddenly took a drastic stance and cracked down, even going so far as to take down the high-ranking Magos Sebastian Moreau. This was a very clear statement.

He was the ultimate traitor.

Under his influence, while the Mechanicus had many objective conditions to better resist corruption, it couldn’t withstand the subjective conditions of having a boss stirring up trouble within.

The situation in the Nepeta Sector frightened Gu Hang. He didn’t want the Alfonzo Sector to become like this, especially with its three Forge Worlds. What a treasure trove! If the Zerg destroyed them, it would be heartbreaking.

What? That belonged to the Alfonzo Cult?

That didn’t matter. Grand Governor Gu was kind-hearted and couldn’t bear to see the Imperial forces’ significant assets destroyed.

So he was anxious. After the general situation in the Nepeta Sector was basically confirmed, he led the main Alliance fleet back to the Proud Claw Sector and then headed for the Alfonzo Sector, determined to preserve the three Alfonzo Forge Worlds.

He also brought Sebastian Moreau with him. This Forge General held great prestige among the Alfonzos and could even be considered the leader of the dove faction. When he reappeared and exposed Varuk’s research, revealing that he had betrayed the God of All Machines and was trying to convert everyone from Oilers to Zergs, he was sure to win over a significant number of them to the Alliance’s side.

Of course, it’s also possible that Oilers simply didn’t care whether they had a mechanical or insect body. Genetic technology and biotechnology were widely accepted. But the problem was that becoming a Zerg meant losing your brain.

Without the ability to conduct research or worship the God of All Machines, that was an absolute no-go.

Aside from the life-or-death stakes, the doves’ rebellion with the Alliance… no, rather, their return to the loyalists, also had a clear advantage. They could legally plunder the Hawks’ wealth and technology.

Of course, when the power disparity was enormous, that was impossible to say. But with the Alliance as a powerful external supporter, they could become even more emboldened.

The doves within the Alfonzo sect already had every reason to confront the Hawks head-on. As long as Gu Hang led the main force of the Alliance into the Alfonzo star field, and with Sage Moreau raising his voice, there was a good chance the doves would rise up. This

wasn’t just Gu Hang’s wishful thinking. This idea was backed by Moreau’s assurances and analysis and support from the Alliance’s intelligence department.

So, let’s act now.

Of course, the Nepeta star field couldn’t be ignored either.

He had retained nearly the entire Phoenix Regiment, and Martins had been appointed as the overall commander of the Nepeta star field campaign. The Blood Sharks, as a guest force, would simply cooperate fully.

In addition, in terms of warships, the battleship “Nova” and the two battlecruisers “Furious Owl” and “Flying Wing” were all retained by Gu Hang and handed over to Martins for command.

Adding the Blood Shark’s flagship, the Ghost Shark, and the Phoenix’s flagship, the Burning Feather, two battle barges, this totaled five massive vessels.

A fleet of this size was definitely not weak. Even with the exception of the battleship, the Fire Nova, which was somewhat slow in maneuverability, the remaining four vessels were capable of exceptional speed and agility, performing specialized combat missions.

Oh, and the Phoenix’s flagship, the Burning Feather, was actually the Triumphant Flame, the former flagship of the Fury Chapter. Captured by the Alliance during the war, this battle barge was repaired and is now, of course, operational.

The conventional human navy couldn’t fully utilize the capabilities of a Space Marine-specific battle barge and could only manage to operate it with difficulty.

Given this, Gu Hang simply assigned it to the Phoenix Chapter as its flagship.

Five massive ships, plus over 180 warships of various classes, made for a formidable fleet.

Two fully staffed Chapters ensured their elite forces were no less capable than their own.

Even if a major Ironclad force emerged from the Imperial Star Region, Martins’s forces wouldn’t have much trouble defeating them, but at least evacuating and protecting themselves should be no problem.

Gu Hang had all the remaining ships with him.

As for Gu Hang, he wasn’t without Space Marines.

He had the New World Torch and the Fury Flame, didn’t he?

The two Chapters surrendered to the Alliance on Phantom Moon and were sentenced to a 100-year and 200-year Penitentiary Crusade, respectively. The verdicts, signed jointly by the Shimmering Inquisition and Gu Hang, took effect after reporting to Holy Terra.

Some within Holy Terra believed their crimes were unforgivable and demanded that Gu Hang execute all the traitors.

But Gu Hang paid them no mind.

Reporting to them was a matter of courtesy; if they didn’t want to be respectful, Gu Hang would ignore them.

The two Penitentiary Chapters followed Gu Hang’s actions,

and they were fully staffed.

Although it was made from the seeds of the ‘Second-Class Infinite Warriors’, the biggest problem with this thing is its potential. The proportion of non-commissioned officer-level warriors that can be pulled out is very low, not to mention the level of company champions. Often a regiment can only pull out more than 20, which is incomparable to the one or two hundred company champions of the Phoenix.

And even if they are pulled to the same level, the combat effectiveness of these new warriors is still not as good as the Phoenix and Blood Shark of the same level.

But it doesn’t matter, the difference is not even a level.

When dealing with non-Space Marine enemies, the difference will not be that big.

It’s just that when the same record is achieved, there will be more casualties.

But Gu Hang didn’t feel bad.

He now has the capital to use ordinary Space Marines as high-level cannon fodder.
