Chapter 524, Steel Fire Dragon

raised its head, gazing at the dim, crimson sun of Ronglin Star.

Jason Morgan felt as though time had flown by incredibly quickly.

In the blink of an eye, four years had already passed on this world belonging to the Steel Fire Dragon Star Sector.

Of course, as the Alliance-appointed leader of the sector, he wasn’t constantly on Ronglin Star during those four years. Although it was the star region’s capital, the Steel Fire Dragon Star Sector’s situation was unique, and the core world remained Jindi Star.

The Alliance certainly didn’t have direct jurisdiction over Jindi Star, but after the negotiations concluded during Gu Hang’s trip to Jindi Star four years ago, the two sides had become close partners.

As the Alliance-appointed leader of the Steel Fire Dragon Star Sector, Morgan naturally shouldered the front lines of this cooperation.

The task was daunting.

His primary responsibility was to ensure that all supplies to Jindi Star were delivered without interruption.

This was a bottom line in the cooperation agreement signed between the Alliance and the Mingyang Sect, and it was also in the interests of the Alliance.

The Ming Yang Sect’s surrender of administrative control over numerous planets doesn’t mean their interests on those planets no longer need to be protected. On the contrary, the Alliance should do even more to protect their interests.

After all, the food transported there feeds more workers, who in turn transform the raw materials transported there into the war supplies and equipment the Alliance desperately needs.

On top of this, he also has to collect more imperial taxes.

Of course, these two things are, to some extent, the same thing.

After all, the collected imperial taxes must be registered and sent to Jindi Star, where they become the cost of the Alliance’s orders to the Ming Yang Sect, thereby generating more equipment.

But if that were all, his involvement wouldn’t be necessary.

Jason Morgan, having joined the Alliance during the Wrathful Owl Unification War and even becoming the Alliance’s first provincial official at the time, should have had a brighter future.

His wife, the director of the Alliance’s Zhongsi Academy, currently holds a senior position at the Alliance’s education headquarters; his wife’s sister is a veteran within the demon hunter system.

His family holds high status.

However, back when he was still managing a province on the Angry Owl Star, the Alliance’s first major anti-corruption case occurred, a case still being publicized by the Alliance’s Integrity Bureau.

He was a key figure at the time.

Although he made no mistakes, the incident occurred under his command, and as a leader, he couldn’t escape responsibility.

Although that happened over twenty years ago, suffering such a setback so early in his political career had a significant impact on his subsequent career.

Otherwise, he would have had to move up the ladder.

For example, perhaps serve a term on the Alliance Central Committee?

But before that, he needed a more impressive resume.

Relying solely on seniority wouldn’t cut it.

The Alliance was teeming with talent, and the next generation was formidable.

So, seeing an opportunity, he volunteered to move to the crucial Steel and Fire Dragon Star region, determined to make his mark there.

Beyond his basic mission of ensuring Jindi Star’s supplies and imperial taxes, he was also committed to reform.

Politically, he aimed to transform all planets in the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region into alliances, bringing the alliance’s system to these worlds.

Economically, he also sought to develop the eleven worlds of the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region, excluding Jin Di Star, in a manner tailored to local conditions.

Honestly, the eleven imperial worlds of the Steel Fire Dragon Star Region weren’t particularly promising for achieving success.

They were too close to Jindi.

Throughout their long history, they had been constantly drained of their lifeblood by Jindi.

Compared to other factions, the Mechanicus was generally quite introverted.

They were reluctant to expand, and even reluctant to intervene in external affairs, even those occurring nearby.

Unless there was a clear threat to their safety,

or a clear interest in technology or precious materials,

they generally avoided taking the initiative, preferring to tinker within their own Forge Worlds.

Their primary means of exerting influence abroad was through their powerful productivity, forcing others to value their interests; and by exporting (or eliminating) talent to the outside world, spreading the Mechanicus’s way of thinking.

Under these circumstances, the Mechanicus certainly cared little for the well-being of the worlds around them.

Under the relentless drain of their lifeblood, the eleven Steel and Fire Dragon worlds were in dire straits.

They lacked a strong foundation for development, and their potential for growth was even questionable.

Yet, it was precisely in this environment that there was room for striving.

He couldn’t secure the positions of Sector Leader in Qimadi and Yunluo Center. These key positions were reserved for Alliance Committee members who, upon returning, might even be promoted to a standing committee position. He, who hadn’t even reached the rank of ordinary committee member, had no chance.

He’d barely managed to secure them through leveraging his connections, but the political benefits wouldn’t be high. It would be better

to find a difficult place like Steel Fire Dragon and make a splash.

Besides, he came prepared.

Beyond the difficulties and risks, he also saw opportunities.

These worlds of Steel Fire Dragon were too close to Jin Di Star. Previously, they were simply drained of their lifeblood, but that wasn’t necessarily the case in the future.

Jason Morgan noticed that the agreement between the Alliance and the Ming Yang Sect included a clause stipulating that the Alliance would assist Jin Di Star in eliminating obsolete production capacity, increasing the supply of raw materials, basic processing, and low-value industrial products, rationally optimizing Jin Di Star’s production capacity, and focusing on high-end and cutting-edge industrial production.

Normally, this agreement centered around Jindi Star. Looking deeper, one might wonder, politically, if it truly came to fruition. Would the elimination of production capacity for raw materials, primary processing, and low-value industrial products suddenly increase Jindi Star’s dependence on the alliance, creating political repercussions?

Jason Morgan, however, focused on another point: the elimination of obsolete production capacity.

How?

Workers could be easily relocated to more needed locations, but what about the equipment?

Would it simply be dismantled and destroyed?

Absolutely not.

Isn’t this a golden opportunity?

For the past four years, Morgan, aside from completing his “main duties,” has devoted his remaining energy to these efforts.

Bringing in what was considered “obsolete” production capacity from Jindi Star, he transformed the Steel Fire Dragon Star’s industry, providing local supply and absorbing local raw material production capacity.

Under his leadership, the Steel Fire Dragon Stars have indeed achieved remarkable development over the past four years.

“Don’t you agree?” Morgan said to the people in front of him, “I’ve worked so hard, but why do you always go against me?”

“Wuwuwu…” The man tied to the chair and gagged couldn’t answer.
