Chapter 1032, the finishing touch

. Gu Hang was just one step away from reaching the next level, the Four Gods.

But that one blow made a world of difference.

His claim to be the greatest under the Four Gods was both factual and boastful.

The truth was that unless the Four Great Evil Gods, plus the Emperor, personally took action, there were few who could stand against Gu Hang. He wasn’t invincible, but at least no one dared to claim a guaranteed victory.

Bassor was also at this level, yet he was still shattered by Gu Hang’s Storm Kingdom. He was left in a state of disarray and fury, pursuing him relentlessly.

But the boasting was that his claim to be “the greatest under the Four Gods” made him seem close. In reality, any one of the Four Great Evil Gods, if they committed their full strength to him, would have crushed Gu Hang within a day.

He had some resistance to the Four Gods,

but only just.

He had fought Slaanesh during the conquest of Commorragh; and during the Battle of Holy Terra, he had faced both the Kind Father and the Tyrant.

But these confrontations were brief.

Gu Hang didn’t need victory; he simply needed to avoid defeat within a short period.

Subsequently, the evil gods would often be unable to continue their attacks for various reasons.

Sometimes conditions prohibited it; sometimes the other evil gods hindered each other; sometimes the Emperor offered a covert helping hand…

If Gu Hang were allowed to fight the Four Gods without any external intervention, his ultimate crushing was undeniable.

Without success, would Gu Hang have any chance of advancement?

Almost none.

Though only one step away, it was a step he couldn’t take.

Take Bassol: he’d been stuck at this level for what seemed like tens of thousands of years, only recently finally seizing an opportunity, years of planning and covert operations, to secure a ticket.

This was still a matter of opportunity.

But where did Gu Hang’s opportunity lie?

He couldn’t see it.

His current level, initially granted by the system and his seizure of the Storm Kingdom, was only the beginning. The original Angry Owl we fought on Angry Owl Star, for example, is nothing more than a humble, primitive deity from today’s perspective. Such creatures are plentiful across the vast universe.

It’s not that starting out isn’t important; it’s simply that they’re not uncommon.

Ultimately, the growth Gu Hang has achieved is due to the vast development of humanity and the Alliance within the real universe.

But that’s the end of it.

Let’s not talk about the hidden dangers, the problems, or what the future holds. Simply put, humanity is undoubtedly the largest race in the real universe; in terms of sheer size, the Empire is also the undisputed largest force.

Even so, the Human Empire’s ability to support an ascended Emperor is already stretched to its limits.

Gu Hang’s current growth is due to the Emperor’s tacit approval, connivance, and even support.

If the Emperor, as a human race god, had suppressed Gu Hang from the outset, he wouldn’t have been able to grow.

The same goes for his Alliance.

Of course, if Gu Hang insisted on ascending as a human god, there might be a chance in the future—the Emperor could simply abdicate and let someone else take over.

And the Emperor might even be willing.

You sit on the Golden Throne!

But it was Gu Hang who wasn’t happy about it.

This universe, this Warp, was a cesspool.

Whoever sat on it would be sick.

Deep in it, trapped, Gu Hang couldn’t escape, couldn’t let go.

But he couldn’t let the old Emperor get away.

Rather than letting the Emperor abdicate and sitting on the throne alone, it would be better to maintain the status quo, letting the Emperor be the ascended god, worshipped by the entire human empire, while he could relax more easily in the real universe.

Of course, the best outcome was that, even without the Emperor stepping down, Gu Hang could ascend to the same level.

Then, with humanity possessing two supreme deities, the situation they faced would be vastly different from the current one.

How could this be achieved?

It certainly hadn’t been possible before; humanity’s chances of becoming an Emperor were numbered.

Gu Hang needed to find another way.

And that was the one that was readily available:

Bassol’s path. If he could follow it, could I too?

Under normal circumstances, it wasn’t easy.

The path, in short, consisted of obtaining the “key,” finding the “weapon,” and ultimately achieving godhood.

Gu Hang already knew how to obtain the key.

It was simply Rain Star, or Knight Star, and the Stone Monastery.

He could probably figure out how to forge the key.

But the next two steps were completely futile.

Once he had the key, how could he find the “weapon”? This step wasn’t something that could be achieved out of thin air. After all, even ten thousand years ago, Leon was considered to be in control of a divine artifact, yet he never found any “ancient weapon.”

And even if he did find the “weapon,” how would he achieve godhood?

Gu Hang didn’t know either.

But it didn’t matter.

Bassol knew.

Not only did he know, he had probably already made a series of preparations.

Gu Hang guessed that this had a lot to do with Bassol’s name as a god.

‘Creator’.

In a sense, perhaps only he could become a god through this path.

But for Gu Hang, it was nothing more than taking one more step after obtaining the ‘key’.

Becoming the ‘Creator’.

Is that possible?

Before, Gu Hang wasn’t very confident.

Even though he had already dealt a heavy blow to the Wanxiang Divine Kingdom and seemed to have the upper hand, at that time, Gu Hang still quickly withdrew his actions after confirming that Bassol’s incarnation in the real universe had been eliminated and the crisis could be considered initially resolved.

Later, through war in the real universe, he would seize control of Yusheng Star and get the ‘artifact’ in his hands. This operation could then be considered a success.

Gu Hang had thought about going all out and continuing to blow up the Universal Furnace, swallowing up Bassol’s core kingdom, and trying to master the power of the ‘Creator’.

But the risk was too great.

At the beginning of the battle, Gu Hang did not hold back at all, and played all his cards. He did gain the upper hand and dealt a heavy blow to his opponent.

But even so, he could not kill Bassol in one wave.

On the contrary, after Bassol withdrew all his attention from the real universe, he showed a strong will to resist, and the power he condensed should not be underestimated.

From this, it can be seen how difficult it is to destroy an evil god of this level.

With the guaranteed profit already obtained, Gu Hang stopped.

However, Bassol chose to catch up.

Then Gu Hang could think of many ways.

The first step is to let Bassol catch up.
