Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 1035

Chapter 1026, The Strongest
‘Key’…
Although Leon didn’t know what that ‘key’ was, as the Lord of the Angels of Death, he knew the place of his ‘birth’ and his struggles, Knight Star, well.
It was Knight Star’s geocentric device, discovered after he unified the planet.
Why were Knight Star’s forests warped? Did they breed ferocious beasts far larger than a normal ecosystem could support? Why was the rate of awakened psychics unusually high? Why were there frequent mysterious disappearances?
These answers remained unknown during Knight Star’s long history of human colonization, but after he unified the planet, he naturally sought to understand them.
Especially after the planet returned to Imperial rule and the introduction of Imperial technology, he further explored it.
It turned out that within Knight Star’s inner core lay a vast, awe-inspiring creation. It was essentially the planet’s core. Perhaps the entire planet was formed over countless astronomical eons by the absorption of countless substances from this ‘core.’
There was a mysterious power within.
On the flagship of the Empire’s founding expedition, he led the Angels of Death from Knight Star, conquering the vast universe. Back on his home planet, the scientific research department, under his remote control, was constantly studying the Earth Core Facility.
They had achieved some success.
For example, they were channeling some of the energy from the Earth Core Facility to power Knight Star’s world transformations; increasing the success rate of the Angels of Death’s transformation surgeries, even granting new recruits enhanced strength; and enabling the controllable awakening of psychics.
They had even begun researching weaponizing the Earth Core Facility.
It was during this period that they began referring to it as a divine artifact, a crucial secret within the Angels of Death Legion at the time.
Knight Star was shattered into countless pieces during the civil war, and the artifact disappeared without a trace.
However, while the Angels of Death had developed numerous applications for the artifact thousands of years prior, the artifact in Leon’s hands was fundamentally different from the one in Bassall’s.
He could only use the artifact for limited purposes.
But in Bassall’s hands, it has countless uses.
The most important of these is as a ‘key’ to unlock the ancient weapon of Yuan, granting Bassall the opportunity for ascension.
Honestly, if Gu Hang hadn’t told him, he would never have believed that the Death Angel’s homeworld was so closely connected to the ascension ritual of an evil god.
But the reality is what it is, and he has no choice but to accept it.
Putting aside this crucial use, in Bassall’s hands, it can be directly weaponized.
He used the artifact to build a planet modeled after the Knight Star. The Death Angels fighting there have already deeply felt its hostility. He can also use the artifact to create vast numbers of demon-engined war machines and bionic beasts, which are the source of the current enormous challenge facing human forces.
Beyond building troops, the power generated by the artifact also directly strengthens his avatar.
The impact of the reality veil is immense. Ordinary beings may not feel it so strongly, but the more powerful the Warp entities, the more they are restricted. While the gods of the Warp struggled to project their power into the real universe, Bassol’s greatest strength in breaking through the veil of reality and wreaking havoc in the real universe was his increasingly sophisticated Knight Star. This was
especially true of the avatar he was currently wielding.
Without the Knight Star and the artifact, he couldn’t maintain such a high-powered avatar and engage Leon.
The explosive force sent Leon flying.
Leon, having just risen to his feet, leaning on the Lion King Sword, was forced to face a barrage of laser beams, particle cannons, and energy molecular beams. He struggled to dodge, occasionally counterattacking with his handheld guns, but the results were limited, and he could only hope for a temporary containment.
He could only dance on the edge of a knife, patiently searching for another opportunity to advance on Bassol.
…
Gu Hang felt that the Lionheart was doomed to defeat.
From the outset of the battle, he had been closely monitoring the battlefield.
He had placed high hopes on Leon Charlie.
Leon’s self-perception was, at least in part, correct: he was indeed the most powerful individual in the real universe. Those who
hadn’t reached the level of a Son of God were needless to say; there were only three humans at that level:
Robert, Martins, and Leon.
Martins, needless to say, this “Little Primarch” artificially created by Gu Hang, had indeed reached that level. However, his combat effectiveness was at most comparable to Robert’s. His commanding abilities weren’t as great as Robert’s, but they were sufficient, at least capable of standing alone. He also lacked Robert’s exceptional administrative skills.
And what about Robert? Ten thousand years ago, when the Sons of God walked the mortal world alongside the Emperor, Robert wasn’t known for his combat prowess.
To describe his combat performance as at the bottom isn’t entirely accurate, but to describe him as middling is about right.
Well, anyone with average combat ability would be considered middling…
but Leon is different.
While calling Leon the strongest warrior among all the Sons of God might be controversial, to say he’s a strong contender for the title of “strongest” is a fair bet.
Gu Hang judged that even the aging Lionheart might not be as sharp as he was in his prime ten thousand years ago, but in a real fight, Robert and Martins combined might be able to draw even with him.
Gu Hang expected such a powerful Son of God to put on a miraculous display, destroying Bassol’s avatar and leading the Imperial army to victory.
However, his performance proved to be a stretch.
It wasn’t that Leon’s performance was inadequate.
From Gu Hang’s observations of the battle, Leon’s performance was largely in line with expectations. There weren’t many surprises, but it wasn’t a poor performance either.
But the problem is, the opposing incarnation of Bassor is far stronger than expected!
If the fight continues like this, Leon has no chance of winning.
Gu Hang must find some other way and come to help.
Looking back at the Alliance’s war history, how did the Alliance win when they defeated the powerful Greenskin Orc, known as the strongest Greenskin Orc and the Greenskin God’s favorite prophet, the powerful being known as the ‘Bone Crusher King’?
They won by a group fight.
Can this method be replicated?
