Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 1033

Chapter 1024, Facing the Evil God
the incarnation of the evil god Bassall. What kind of monster is this?
Overall, he has a roughly humanoid appearance: a slender torso connected to a head, legs, and hands. Some exposed flesh, pale flesh, bright red veins, and metal cables form a physical body.
Beyond this flesh, visible energy pulses through an intricate mechanical structure, forming a semi-encased suit of mechanical armor and dozens of mechanical arms resembling a pair of demonic wings. Each arm holds a weapon, each of varying shapes, but all divine artifacts crafted by Bassall, the evil god known as the “Creator.”
His appearance isn’t crucial; it’s merely superficial;
yet, it’s crucial, because Bassall is a deity, and his appearance is likely an outward manifestation of the fundamental power he represents.
His mechanical part was a manifestation of his creator’s mechanical technology; his twisted flesh was a manifestation of his creator’s biotechnology; and those dozens of divine artifacts were the embodiment of their creator’s technology…
He was the god of technology.
His combat style also reflected this.
Bombardments, laser beams, molecular slicing, plasma cannons… from his wings, formed from dozens of mechanical arms, one attack after another blasted down upon all the human forces standing before him.
His sweeping efficiency far surpassed even that of the Lionheart!
Forget about ordinary human soldiers; trenches, fortresses, and emplacements… they were meaningless. The fixed firepower directed at Bassor was blocked by a few protective divine artifacts; in return, Bassor could precisely unleash the most suitable weapon to destroy the human positions.
Trenches and emplacements would collapse under the earth’s shockwaves, burying vast numbers of soldiers within. Fortresses that appeared to be semi-permanent fortifications would be directly ripped apart by earth-penetrating cannons.
Even the largest armored tanks could not withstand Bassor’s blows!
And what about Space Marines?
The same thing happened.
A Blood Angels Chapter Champion on the front lines led an elite squadron in an assault on Bassor, but even with the desperate support of a mortal armored regiment, they ultimately failed to reach Bassor. At least thirty paces from Bassor, the Chapter Champion was blasted to pieces by an unavoidable plasma blast, armor and all.
The human forces, which had been revitalized and launched a counterattack after the Lionheart and tens of thousands of Blood Angels landed, were severely halted in several key areas by Bassor’s presence.
And at that moment, the Lion happened to be away from the front lines.
At the Imperial Army’s headquarters on Yusheng, he met with Orgallon and the leaders of the Death Angels and their numerous successor chapters who had accompanied him.
It was a scene of profound admiration, admiration, and a touching reunion between father and son.
The personalities of the Death Angels differed from those of the Ultramarines, but the loyalist Space Marines shared a remarkably unified desire for the return of their Gene-Father.
After confirming the Lion’s identity, all the descendants of the Death Angels knelt on one knee.
Arrogant, aloof, and inherently suspicious… these Death Angels, considered the most mysterious, strange, and eccentric of all Space Marine groups, pledged their loyalty to the Lionheart in an instant.
And the Lion helped them to their feet, one by one.
A scene of fatherly love and filial piety is always necessary, even on such a critical battlefield.
The Lion needed a touch of ceremony to formally announce his return to the Death Angels, formally declare his absolution for the so-called “Fallen Angels,” and officially assume command of all human forces on this battlefield.
It was during this process that word of Bassol’s appearance reached them.
Strategic points and defensive lines were destroyed one by one, personally participated in by the incarnation of the evil god.
Leon took advantage of the situation and declared his intention to personally engage in battle.
This was strongly opposed by the Angels of Death.
It was too dangerous.
But Leon persisted, defying all objections.
Only he could face the incarnation of the evil god. Anyone else would die if they went.
Unable to dissuade him, the Angels of Death could only gather their best forces and, alongside the Blood Angels and the Angels of Absolution, charge into battle as Leon’s guard.
…
The incarnation of Bassor, the ultimate creation that blasphemed technology and life, rode upon the waves of destruction. Its pale, metallic form was enveloped in a visible energy field, its “demon wings” composed of dozens of mechanical arms flapping with abandon. Each swing brought devastating blows.
The twisted forests, lashed with v*olence by the evil god’s power, erupted in fury. Thick vines, like animated pythons, swept up heavy armored vehicles and slammed them into the ground. Carnivorous plants disguised as trees spread their fanged “petals” to devour approaching soldiers. The earth itself seemed to possess malice, its erratic and violent tremors stumbling the charging Space Marines, while the ground cracked open with greedy cracks, devouring those who were left alone.
The air was thick with the acrid scent of ozone, scorched flesh, and Warp sulfur; the stench of death was thick and indissoluble.
Just then, a piercing scream tore through the sky!
An orbital strike from the Angelic Expeditionary Fleet descended like divine retribution.
A barrage of macrocannon shells, trailing orange-red flames, rained down with the precision of a meteor shower upon the Chaos hordes clustered hundreds of meters around Basthor’s avatar.
Deafening explosions cascaded, the violent shockwaves shredding lower-ranked Daemons and Chaos traitors. Massive Daemon engines disintegrated under the precise fire of the Light Lance, showering them with scorching metal fragments. Like blazing swords of judgment, the orbital Light Lance arrays meticulously mowed down the incoming forces attempting to fill the gap, particularly the long-range Daemon engines that posed a significant threat to ground infantry. The lances’ barrage reduced them to flaming scrap.
But in reality, the Chaos losses were less severe than they appeared.
Basthor’s strength lay not solely in the combat prowess of his avatar. He was also connected to the planet’s numerous anti-orbital firepower systems. Many orbital bombardments were intercepted. This massive, over-the-top bombardment by the human fleet should have been far more powerful, numerous, and widespread than what was currently on display.
However, after much of it was intercepted, the firepower unleashed was calculated to be less lethal.
Regardless, despite immense effort, even sacrificing numerous warships for firepower support, the human fleet briefly suppressed the “wave” surrounding the Heretic God, forcibly clearing a death tunnel through the chaotic battlefield, strewn with scorch marks and wreckage, leading to the core!
“Charge with me!” Lion’s roar resonated like thunder!
Clad in dark green power armor, his lion’s mane cape fluttering, the Lionheart King, like a bolt of lightning, ripped through the darkness, bursting out of the hidden trench first. His speed surpassed the limits of mortal comprehension, the heavy power armor seeming weightless against him. The Lion King Sword—the divine weapon that had accompanied him through millennia of battle, engraved with ancient runes and Imperial insignia—emitted a brilliant light in his hand.
Behind him, a torrent of death surged!
Orgallon led the Death Angels’ most elite Dreadnought veterans and Terminator squads. Clad in heavy tactical Dreadnought or Terminator armor, they resembled a mobile steel fortress, their chainswords roaring and their storm bolters blazing with vengeance.
The “Fallen Angel” Guards, pardoned by the Lion, clad in black armor and red insignia, now unleashed a formidable force, like the deadliest shadows. With agility and ruthlessness far exceeding that of ordinary Space Marines, they precisely cut down the Chaos elites who attempted to intercept them.
The Blood Angels’ champion swordsmen, wielding power swords and uttering fearless war cries, their crimson livery striking through the smoke and flames, used ferocious melee combat to contain the incoming enemies from their flanks.
The Lion had a single target—the Avatar of Blasphemy!
He ignored the stray bullets and demonic attacks that followed him. The Lion King Sword transformed into an impenetrable veil of light in his hand, precisely deflecting deadly energy beams or cleaving the advancing mechanized fleshhounds and bloodletters in half.
His pace remained unwavering, each step fitting between explosions and troughs of tremors. Driven by the Primarch’s near-precognitive fighting instincts, he precisely dodged each potentially fatal attack.
“How dare you face the wrath of your Creator!” Bassol’s synthesized voice, a mocking electronic cacophony, swung in a sudden, dominating rotation, locking onto the rapidly advancing Leon!
Instantly, a storm of destruction descended!
Over ten robotic arms opened fire simultaneously! No longer a blanket attack, but a deadly, all-encompassing, three-dimensional blockade directed solely at Leon!
High-energy laser beams intertwined into a searing web of death, attempting to block Leon’s escape.
Shockwave cannons shook the earth, creating rolling waves of rubble and irregular cracks that disrupted his balance.
Most insidious of all, silent, light-distorting molecular cutting lines, like invisible blades, silently sliced at the connection between Leon’s joints and his power pack!
Leon’s astonishing combat skills and intuition were unleashed to the limit!
Against near-impossible odds, he narrowly navigated the intersection of multiple laser beams. The scorching beams grazed his breastplate, leaving scorch marks but failing to injure him.
Faced with the crumbling earth and tumbling boulders beneath his feet, he leaped high with both feet, slashing down with the Lion King Sword, splitting the oncoming boulder in two, sending debris whistling past him.
Also severing was a Chaos Titan that had blocked his path.
