Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 1031

Chapter 1022: The Lion King and His Cubs
all obey your command?
Who are you?
Even Dante wouldn’t dare say that!
Orgallon still respected Dante. He was a hero who had fought for the Imperium for over two thousand years, the Chapter Master of another founding Chapter. Of course, he respected him.
But he was the Supreme Grand Master of the Angels of Death, the heir of the glorious First Legion. He was so proud that under normal circumstances, he would never be willing to hand over the command of his troops, the Angels of Death, to anyone else.
No, even in this unusual situation, he was deeply reluctant.
If it was Dante who was coming, he could still control his temper and communicate in a friendly manner.
But now, an unknown person?
Dream on!
He didn’t ask for command of the Allied forces because the Angels of Death were the ones being rescued in this war, making it difficult to talk to them.
He simply retorted, “No one can command the Angels of Death.”
The other party was silent for a moment.
“No one is more qualified than me to command the First Legion.”
These words instantly ignited Organgron’s wrath: Who dares to speak like that?
But before his fury could erupt, the other man spoke again:
“I am Leon Charles, Lord of the First Legion, Prince of the Empire. I have accepted the command to lead the Angel Expeditionary Fleet to support the battle in the Honey Earth Sector. According to Imperial directives, all armies in the sector loyal to the Empire and to humanity must unconditionally obey my command.”
“Your name is Organgron? Do you have any questions?”
Still have questions?
Organgron’s mind was flooded with questions!
The sudden onslaught of information nearly shut down Organgron’s brain!
This man called himself Leon Charles? Lord of the First Legion?
He was the Son of God? The genetic father of our Angels of Death?
This…
His first instinct was disbelief.
Of course, he didn’t wish this were true.
What Space Marine could refuse the return of their genetic father?
This was something they had been eagerly anticipating for ten thousand years.
This anticipation reached its peak after learning of Robert’s resurrection.
It made the Infinite Marines the envy of every Space Marine in the Imperium.
It also gave rise to unrealistic aspirations among many founding Chapters.
Some Chapters’ Gene-Fathers were clearly documented dead, their hopes for them gone.
But others, like the Angels of Death, were not. While their Gene-Fathers
weren’t as clearly located as Robert, the Infinite Marines’ Gene-Father, were simply missing. If Robert could be revived from the stasis field, why couldn’t our Gene-Father return?
In short, Robert’s resurrection reignited the search for their Gene-Fathers among many Chapters. They began to believe their Gene-Father could return, and amidst the chaos of the Cataclysm, they began to devote some of their energy to searching for the Son of God amidst the struggle against Chaos.
The Angels of Death were no exception.
However, their search proved fruitless.
Disappointed? Some, certainly.
But many more held onto hope.
But at this very moment, the Son of God, the genetic father of the Angels of Death, appeared alive?
And appeared at the most critical moment of the Chapter, coming to rescue them?
This was simply something that could only happen in a dream!
Of course, he hoped it was true.
However, precisely because it was too good to be true, he dared not easily believe it.
…
Lion Charlie didn’t mind Organgron’s unintentional offense, nor did he mind that he hadn’t yet handed over command of the Angels of Death.
After a long slumber, awakening in this unfamiliar era, his temperament had changed considerably from ten thousand years ago.
While his underlying personality still made him the aloof lion, he had become more mature, more reserved, more gentle, and more rational.
He could understand Organgron’s current disbelief and the Angels of Death’s pride.
Although he believed that even if it wasn’t him, even if it was just an ordinary Imperial commander, as long as the person came with the highest orders from the Imperial Center, Organgron, as a loyal soldier of the Empire, should obey them,
this matter could be dealt with later.
Leon knew exactly what he had to do now—show himself to all the Angels of Death!
Once they saw him, the mysterious connection in their blood would allow his genetic descendants to fully recognize his identity.
But how would he reveal it?
He chose the most direct and efficient method!
He led his troops directly to the forefront of the battlefield, the fiercest area.
With the Lion King Sword in his hand, he slashed swiftly, each blow slicing down an enemy—no matter how strong or weak.
From the lowest demons and cultists to Chaos Space Marines, even the vast demon engines… almost nothing stood a chance against him.
When he had just awakened and led a group of indigenous rebels against the Blood Eye Warband, he felt that his body wasn’t as strong as it had been ten thousand years ago, at its peak. His reflexes were slow, his strength not as unmatched as before.
He couldn’t be sure if this was due to aging or the rusting of his body from his long slumber.
Perhaps it was both.
But after a period of fighting, the latter’s effects were fading.
Furthermore, he was the “strongest swordsman” among all the Children of God—at least that was what he considered himself.
Robert?
In his prime, he felt Robert could defeat him with just one hand.
Now… he had to use both, so it would only take a little more effort.
In that moment, his combat prowess was on full display. As enemies were slain one by one, news of his presence spread rapidly as more people witnessed the battlefield.
The Angels of Death gathered around him.
They also spotted the two troops surrounding the Lionheart.
Some were painted blood-red or in other colors, clearly from the Blood Angels Successor Chapters. That wasn’t surprising.
They were the Gene-Father, leading the Blood Angels to support them.
But the others, the Space Marines in black armor and red insignia, were more suspicious.
Many of the Angels of Death and their Successor Chapters, who knew many of the Chapter’s secrets, could tell at a glance that they were the mortal enemies they had pursued for a thousand years—the Fallen Angels!
According to the nature of the Angels of Death, capturing or destroying Fallen Angels was their highest priority, surpassing all else.
But now…
even the most obsessed Angels of Death had to put that aside for a moment.
Fighting alongside the Gene-Father was paramount.
