Chapter 1021, All Follow My Command

The forces led by Orkron himself constituted the main force of the Angels of Death.

Over five thousand warriors of the Angels of Death and their successors descended upon the surface of Yusheng Star. Accompanying them were tens of millions of Astra Militarum troops.

Taken together, this force was not only massive but also incredibly elite.

Putting aside the precious Space Marines, these tens of millions of Astra Militarum troops were a crucial trump card in Orkron’s hand. With limited manpower available to deploy to the surface in a short period of time, to ensure a powerful impact on the ground, he naturally had to carefully select the most formidable among the vast mortal forces.

In other words, Orkron could even accept that this offensive failed to achieve its objective and eliminate Bassol.

After all, if this wave failed, there was always another.

However, he absolutely could not accept the utter annihilation of his ground forces.

That would mean the complete destruction of his strongest and most effective force.

This would also lead to the failure of the entire campaign, leaving them with no chance of a comeback.

However, this most unacceptable situation was actually unfolding.

According to the original intelligence, the enemy on the ground should be within their reach. Their previous advantage wasn’t fake; Bassol had even been forced out!

However, reality proved their advantage to be false, a ploy to lure them deeper.

Worse still, Organgron had fallen prey.

From the dense forests resembling the Chapter’s homeworld, countless twisted beasts scurried forth. Mixed with Chaos daemons and demonic forces, they placed immense pressure on the Angels of Death.

Furthermore, this Chaos daemon army bore a distinct Bassolian hallmark. The demonic armies under the command of this ‘Creator’ contained a vast number of mechanical units.

They were like demonic engines!

Bound demons, crammed into mechanical bodies, they served as direct “pilots,” even transforming into chariots and demonic mechs with their “souls.”

Compared to the Human heavy armored vehicles, Knight Mechs, and Titans, they were far more agile and maneuverable. After all, these Daemon Engines were operated by a single soul, requiring no coordination between pilots.

Blazing with eternal flames, they clashed fiercely with the Human heavy armored forces, instantly inflicting heavy casualties.

Though the Chaos Space Marines within the Chaos Armies were outnumbered by the Angels of Death, Orgron’s forces had to allocate a significant portion of their elite warriors specifically to deal with the terrifying Daemon Engines and mutated beasts, in order to assist the mortal forces in holding the line.

If they were facing only a single enemy, it would be fine, but the reality was that the entire planet seemed to be their enemy!

A sudden tremor shook the human positions, collapsing entire trenches and burying entire formations.

The twisted forest shifted, drowning newly opened supply routes.

Monsters disguised as trees suddenly unfurled branches like iron whips, capable of severing approaching soldiers with a single blow.

These alienated conditions made the human warriors fighting within them extremely difficult.

Initially, Organgron was mobilizing ground reinforcements and calling in naval support.

But as the battle progressed, especially after numerous approaching warships attempting orbital bombardment were destroyed by previously concealed anti-orbital firepower, Organgron was forced to acknowledge the reality: they had fallen into a trap. Even if they persisted, risking annihilation, they might not be able to turn the tide.

And the bad news kept coming.

Was the enemy simply luring them deep into Yusheng Planet, hoping to eliminate as many of their remaining forces as possible?

Yes, but it was more than that.

This was also a successful decoy.

As Organgron personally led his troops to the surface, the enemy’s assault on the Stone Monastery began.

Just as Organgron on Yusheng had shifted his focus from victory to evacuating as many of his already-landed troops as possible, the Death Angels’ headquarters, the Stone Monastery, heavily guarded at this crucial moment, came under attack.

Using the magic of the Warp, the Chaos enemies bypassed the defenses and teleported numerous troops into the Stone Monastery. Numerous boarding ships also broke through the numerous blockades and arrived to provide support.

A ferocious offensive and defensive battle had already begun on the Stone Monastery.

Despite the sizeable garrison, the Stone Monastery was at its most vulnerable when Orkron dispatched thousands of Space Marines and tens of millions of his most elite army troops to the planet, airdropping them onto Yusheng.

He briefly considered abandoning his ground forces and leaving the surface with as many elite troops as possible. He

knew he had to admit defeat; the most important thing now was to secure the Stone Monastery.

However, how could the enemy easily let them go?

Orkron’s target of vengeance: the avatar of Bassall, appeared within reach.

The powerful Machine God, with a massive army, pressed forward, clearly aiming to pin them down and prevent them from returning for reinforcements.

At this point, Orkron felt a chill run down his spine.

He regretted it.

Why hadn’t he cooperated fully with the Alliance?

Since he had acknowledged the New Empire and didn’t dare go against the tide, why was he so hesitant to cooperate?

Wouldn’t a united front with both the New Empire and the Alliance provide greater support for the operation?

Even if the troops he had brought here were still limited to the size of his forces, with the war at such a critical juncture, could he still turn to someone for help?

And now, there was nothing.

Who could save them?

Could he still count on the Alliance and the Blood Angels to come to his rescue like last time?

Really?

When the Blood Angels’ flagship, the Glorious Queen-class battleship, carrying the vast Alliance expeditionary fleet, leaped from the astral tunnel and arrived in the Yusheng system, Organgron was stunned.

Was he moved?

Of course he was.

At the same time, he felt a strong sense of shame.

Being saved again…

How shameful…

The chaotic signals on the battlefield prevented stable and smooth communication between the two sides. However, observation revealed that the Blood Angels’ fleet had split into two groups. One group supported the Stone Monastery, almost instantly stabilizing the situation.

The other group headed straight for Yusheng Star, dropping massive airborne troops from their ships.

Saving the Stone Monastery was what Organgron wanted.

But heading for Yusheng Star was not.

This is a trap!

In his opinion, the most important thing to do is to help them evacuate. After ensuring the safety of the Stone Monastery, they can make long-term plans.

After contacting the descending Blood Angels, he immediately contacted them and put forward his demands. Even in

such a situation, Organgron was still proud. Even though Dante came in person, this was his home ground, and he naturally put himself in the position of commander-in-chief.

However, a majestic voice said to him:

“From now on, the Space Marines of the Angels of Death and their successors, as well as all human forces that can hear my voice, will obey my command.”
