Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 1023
Chapter 1014, Meeting (Part 1)
The Blood Eyes War Gang was utterly annihilated.
This was as it should be.
The Blood Eyes War Gang was quite powerful, able to hold their own against a single detachment of the Angel Expeditionary Force, even managing to launch a counterattack. This was quite impressive .
They were far more formidable than most of the enemies humanity had encountered during the Dark Side Expedition.
However, no matter how powerful they were, there was always a limit.
Could they defeat one detachment, but could they defeat two?
If necessary, if the situation proved truly formidable, the Alliance could still send a third or fourth detachment.
Furthermore, after hearing the news from the Son of God, the matter received considerable attention from the Alliance’s top brass. Dante, acting on orders, personally led the main force of the Angel Expeditionary Force.
With this level of force, the Blood Eyes War Gang couldn’t even contain their own internal rebellion, let alone hold their own against a two-pronged attack.
Their main force was annihilated in a single battle. Aside from a handful of insignificant individuals who fled in panic, the only remaining survivors were the cultists on various planets struggling to even evacuate.
The war wasn’t entirely over, but the aftermath was more of a security battle.
The Dark Side Crusade had reached a point where it had a well-established methodology for post-war cleanup, elimination, and reconstruction.
First, assess the planet’s importance and value. High-value worlds were immediately targeted with a decisive, thorough ground-based suppression and cleanup by the army. At this stage, cost and time were often unnecessary considerations; simply go for it and the job was done.
These worlds either possessed abundant resources, excellent agricultural conditions, abundant mineral deposits, and precious resources like adamantine and mithril that could be mined and refined; possessed exceptional energy resources; had a large population; and possessed exceptional industrial capacity—
in short, all of these factors.
Alternatively, they possessed strategic value, occupying key transportation hubs on the star map. Failure to capture them would block numerous interstellar routes.
Or they might be of particularly significant political significance, their fall having a significant impact on the morale of the entire region. For example, they might hold great historical value, or they might be the capital of a star region or even a universe…
But generally speaking, such high-value worlds are relatively rare.
The remaining worlds will first undergo a safe zone strategic assessment. Those with major but unimportant problems will be placed within the safe zone, exercising self-governance, with support from the Alliance based on their assessment. Once their problems are gradually resolved over time, or if they initially present relatively minor issues, they will undergo direct Alliance-style political transformation and be brought under the direct rule of the Alliance government.
Establishing a government, investing, developing the economy, providing tax revenue and profits, and building a local defense army…
That’s it.
However, here, a few problems arise.
With a Son of God present, things become quite complicated.
Without the Lionheart, the Alliance would already have a well-established set of methods for dealing with rebellions.
Generally, the Alliance recognizes the blood and sacrifices shed by the rebels, rebels, and resistance forces in defending planets and humanity, praising their achievements and actively absorbing these loyal human forces into the Alliance’s governance system. The local people’s contributions will be greatly respected, and they will undoubtedly be given a seat in the newly formed government, and generally a significant number.
However, overall, the Alliance system must be adhered to. A high degree of autonomy, or the “local tyrant” planetary governor system of the old Empire, is out of the question.
If these indigenous forces, after being rescued, harbor any rebellious ambitions or develop additional ambitions, they will be forsaken. Negotiations and warnings will be used first, and if those fail, an ultimatum will be issued.
At this point, they were destined to be labeled rebels, enemies of humanity, and targeted. Their treatment was similar to that of Chaos, aliens, and heretics. The only difference was that the Alliance would accept their surrender, while it wouldn’t accept the surrender of Chaos and aliens.
But the Sons of God… were still too special.
Currently, within the New Empire’s jurisdiction, there was only one special zone unincorporated by the Alliance: the Infinite Sector, home of the Infinite Chapter. The
Infinite Sector’s high degree of autonomy, enshrined in the Imperial Constitution as a “political special zone,” was granted. The Infinite Sector’s special status stemmed not only from its excellent governance, comparable to the Alliance’s core regions, but also from Robert’s unique status as a Son of God.
Otherwise, the Infinite Chapter’s prestige alone wouldn’t have been enough to grant autonomy to a single sector.
Other founding chapters, such as the Saints, and those now under Imperial command, such as the Phoenix, Bat, and Golden Knights, only enjoyed autonomy within their home planets.
This was clearly stipulated in the Space Marine Codex, and the Alliance did not challenge it. This applied
not only to the founding chapters, but also to some of the older chapters.
However, for all newly established chapters, there was no longer any concept of a homeworld.
All Space Marines were trained at the New Blood Training Center under the Space Marine Administration Center. Their “homeworld” was the entire Alliance and the entire New Empire.
Thanks to the Son of God and its own excellent governance, the Infinite Segmental Region had earned the status of a special zone. But what would King Lionheart do here?
Dante tried to ask King Lionheart to order his rebels to relinquish control and rule, allowing the Alliance government to move in and establish a new regime. However, Lion overruled him
.
It wasn’t that he completely refused, but, as he said, he didn’t understand what the Alliance was, nor had he heard of the New Empire. Since his awakening, he had inexplicably arrived in this region corrupted by the Blood Eyes Warband, leading the people of more than a dozen worlds in their rebellion against Chaos rule. He couldn’t just give up his achievements.
Faced with this situation, Gu Hang intervened directly.
After a brief discussion with Robert, he extended an invitation to the Lionheart through Dante.
Didn’t Leon want to know what the Alliance and the New Empire were?
Then why not come to Holy Terra?
The Prime Minister and the Regent of the Empire were waiting for him in the capital of the Empire for this meeting.
The Veil Gate was fully capable of supporting this small-scale meeting.
Even if Leon wanted to bring his guards, that was possible.
His guards were a group of Space Marines wearing black armor with red edges, ancient battle armor, and were labeled as Angels of Death. However, their paint and identity were completely different from the current Angels of Death.
