Chapter 1000: There is only one God Emperor, but not all Gods are equal

. It’s perfectly normal for the two of them to value Martins and the Imperial Guards.

They had a thousand questions in their minds,

but it seemed unnecessary to ask them explicitly.

Some questions didn’t need answers; simply thinking about them would reveal the answers.

However, the Alliance’s members could sense their confusion and offered answers without hesitation.

Martins introduced himself:

“Martins Salas, from the Phoenix Chapter, the sixty-fourth Chapter Master. Currently, he is also Chairman of the Imperial Dark Side Expeditionary Committee – the Space Marine Management Association, and Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Dark Side Expedition’s Southern Front.”

Robert and Yan Xinzhen remained expressionless after hearing this.

Wasn’t this all common knowledge?

While the latter two titles, Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Front, sounded highly influential, symbolizing the pivotal role played by this leader of the original Chapter to join the Alliance within the Alliance’s political landscape

, his political status clearly wasn’t of concern to the Regent and the Grand Marshal of the Imperial Guards.

Martins understood their concerns. He smiled and continued,

“You may think I’m different from the average Space Marine now, and rather somewhat similar to His Royal Highness the Regent… I don’t deny that, but as to why this has come to this, please allow me to keep it a secret for Lord Gu Hang.”

Though it was ‘secret,’ this answer revealed everything.

Robert and Yan Xinzhen weren’t concerned about Gu Hang’s methods of ‘creating’ Martins. They were concerned about the fact that Gu Hang had ‘created’ Martins!

What did this mean?

Gu Hang could create the Son of God?

Then who was Gu Hang?

Thinking this through, even they felt it was blasphemy!

There was only one Divine Emperor!

But that didn’t seem to contradict it.

There wasn’t necessarily only one God.

No matter how much they denied it, they had to admit that there were four evil gods in the Warp.

And now, adding another god to those four, a new one on the side of humanity, wasn’t that a good thing?

This statement was, in reality, just a statement. Was it self-deception… well, it shouldn’t be.

After all, that was the truth.

Everyone fought tooth and nail, protected by dozens of Great Unclean Ones, to kill Qi Bo Du, but Gu Hang was instantly dispatched the moment he appeared. What else was there to say?

Putting aside Gu Hang’s individual strength, consider the Alliance.

If the Imperium of Man is to survive, the Alliance is paramount.

The Alliance’s reputation as the Imperium hinges on whether or not they want to keep it.

If they do, then keep it. If not, they have territories and armies, Space Marines and Sisters of Battle, the New Ecclesiarchy and the Mechanicus, the Inquisition and the Secret Service—even the Imperial Guard!

They’re just called the Imperial Guard.

At this point, Yan Xinzhen didn’t even bother asking about the Imperial Guard.

Gu Hang’s ability to forge his own Imperial Guard, while earth-shattering, seemed less shocking than his ability to create a Son of God.

The two exchanged a sigh of relief.

…

The war on Holy Terra, punctuated by Qi Bo Du’s death, actually continued for over fifteen years.

The battlefield outside the Terra Palace was a siege battlefield with a cross-section of more than a thousand kilometers and a depth of nearly a thousand kilometers. It took more than three years to basically wipe out the enemy.

It took more than fifteen years to completely eliminate the Chaos cults and rebels that were present across Holy Terra. This

period saw repeated setbacks on local battlefields, with the enemy even launching major counterattacks in certain Hive regions, only to be quickly suppressed.

As a result of this war, Holy Terra’s population plummeted by over 300 billion.

This was almost equivalent to the population loss of an entire star region elsewhere.

Furthermore, this massive loss of population severely damaged Holy Terra’s once-prolific industrial capacity, leaving behind countless social governance challenges.

The government’s dysfunction, in particular, necessitated the rebuilding of the Imperial central government.

This reconstruction—both politically and economically—was carried out in parallel with the war.

Robert had virtually no free time during this period, even neglecting the war effort. The subsequent war effort on Holy Terra was completely entrusted to Yan Xinzhen.

As for why it wasn’t Martins—Martins was the commander-in-chief of the Dark Side Expedition’s southern front. Along with Dante and Raymond Weiss, he was temporarily pulled in to fight in the Holy Terra campaign. After completing the most crucial and challenging part, he would inevitably return to his original position.

Furthermore, Martins had also taken on a new position during these fifteen years—Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Dark Side Expedition.

He had been promoted.

Gu Hang simply couldn’t manage so many things on his own. Martins, after undergoing Primarch transformation, had honed his skills over the decades. Combined with his sufficient qualifications, achievements, and credibility, he was perfectly suited to be the Dark Side Warmaster.

Back on Holy Terra, Robert had gradually rebuilt a new Imperial government structure over the past fifteen years.

This structure was similar to the one he had previously discussed with Gu Hang.

Within this new Imperial government, the bureaucracy was divided into three groups.

The largest group consisted of Terran natives and former Imperial bureaucrats.

However, despite their large number, this group generally held positions in the lower to middle echelons of power.

The second and third sections consist of bureaucrats from Robert’s Infinite Star Domain and the Alliance.

Generally speaking, there’s little hierarchical distinction between the two; the higher the level and the more crucial the position, the more people from each side are represented.

However, in terms of overall numbers, the Alliance’s personnel vastly outnumber those from the Infinite Star Domain.

This is inevitable.

Just how large is Robert’s Infinite Star Domain? How many useful and capable personnel can it draw upon?

The Alliance’s scale is vastly greater.

Besides Robert, the second-in-command of Holy Terra’s administrative power is Jason Morgan.

He rose from a simple civil servant on the Wrathful Owl Star to planetary governor, then to star domain head, then to chairman of a cosmic domain after the Dark Side Crusade, and now, appointed by Gu Hang as the acting ambassador of the Imperial Prime Minister’s authority, a journey that spans 150 years.

Now, with the situation on Holy Terra finally stabilizing and the Imperial power finally reorganized, they faced a crucial task:

the ceremony for the return of the Imperial Regent, the inauguration of the new Prime Minister, the reorganization of the Imperial Supreme Council, and the restart of the Great Crusade…

These grand ceremonies, combined, became known as

the Inauguration of the New Empire.

In the future, this would be officially known as the beginning of the Third Reich.
