Chapter 1304 The Tenth Extreme!

The path to comprehending the tenth extreme is destined to be difficult and fraught with obstacles.

Even though Xu Qing has often pondered and gained many insights along the way, and even the young master of Mi Ming has shown him his own insights…

all of this can only serve as a reference for Xu Qing, not a direct choice.

Because his Constitution Flower needs his own experiences as nourishment to bloom into its own unique law!

“This is the process of the Constitution giving birth to the law…”

Xu Qing murmured, his raised foot not landing in mid-air.

He was pondering. He was

pondering whether his preparations were completely sufficient.

“The Five Elements are the foundation, time and space are superimposed to form spacetime… and through this turbulent current, my spacetime is confirmed to be flawed, understanding that right and wrong are one, that is spacetime.”

“At this point, the basic constitution of spacetime is finally complete.”

“Next…”

“If we consider the complete spacetime as a point, then…”

Xu Qing raised his head, his foot suddenly landing.

The moment he touched the void, his ninth power, transcending time and space, transformed into a Daoist sound, echoing within the turbulent flow of spacetime.

“Converging Universes and Overlapping Cosmos.”

These four words seemed to possess a strange magic, drawing Xu Qing’s mind and expanding continuously, as if he were about to touch the deepest and most mysterious place in the universe.

In an instant, the void before him suddenly shifted, as if he himself were rising infinitely, while the turbulent flow of spacetime he was in infinitely shrinking.

Ultimately, in Xu Qing’s perception, spacetime became a single point.

Within this point lay all the information contained within Xu Qing’s Spacetime Constitution.

And outside this point… within Xu Qing’s perception, he suddenly sensed even more points forming.

More and more, densely packed, eventually occupying his entire field of vision,

forming countless shimmering points of light.

A dense power of spacetime emanated from each point of light; each of these points seemed to contain a world, a spacetime, and the trajectories of all living beings within that spacetime.

Bearing the joys and sorrows of countless people, interwoven with the different lives of everyone.

This is the Ninth Extreme that Xu Qing once comprehended:

the Intertwining of Universes!

However, before he himself reached the peak of Quasi-Immortal, the power he could leverage this was limited. Only after becoming a Quasi-Immortal at the Great Perfection could Xu Qing manifest it to its fullest extent.

So Xu Qing looked around.

Within these points of light, he saw countless versions of himself, countless different lives.

Like unique scrolls slowly unfolding before his eyes.

In one of these scrolls, there was a scholar.

The scholar wore a moon-white robe, a turban, and held an ancient book in his hand, strolling in an elegant courtyard.

The courtyard was full of blooming flowers, their fragrance lingering, but a faint sorrow lingered between the scholar’s brows, as if he were pondering the obscure and difficult principles in the book, or perhaps lamenting his unfulfilled ambitions.

Sometimes, he would sit at the stone table, dip his brush in ink, and wield his pen. His characters were elegant yet resolute, as if each stroke reflected his unwavering pursuit of knowledge.

Unbeknownst to him, at that very moment, someone from another time and space was gazing upon him.

…

And in another time and space, a chivalrous figure appeared.

He wore a bamboo hat and black, close-fitting clothes, a long sword hanging at his waist, its scabbard adorned with ancient and mysterious patterns.

Now, he walked along the official road, his posture upright as a pine tree, each step carrying a sense of freedom and heroism.

Occasionally, bandits and thugs would block his path, but the chivalrous figure would simply draw his sword; a flash of cold light, and those villains would fall to the ground.

Then, he would sheath his sword and continue on his way without pause.

Under the setting sun, his shadow stretched long and thin in the twilight,

as if carrying endless stories—the joys and sorrows of the martial world, a unique life written with blood and chivalry.

Until the sun set.

…

Xu Qing, outside of time and space, withdrew his gaze.

In the silence, his eyes deepened as he continued to gaze at the other paintings.

As if trying to see through these paintings, piercing the long river of time, discerning the parallel lines.

He saw craftsmen, officials, butchers, bandits, children, and the elderly. A

myriad of human experiences.

In another time and space, Xu Qing saw himself as a doctor.

In his simple clinic, the doctor carefully took the pulse of the injured, sometimes frowning in thought, sometimes smiling to comfort the patient.

His skillful hands expertly manipulated various medicinal herbs, either decocting soup or grinding powder, all to alleviate the pain of others.

Sometimes he would carry his medicine box, weaving through the alleys and streets, a gentle smile on his face, patiently attending to every patient who came for treatment.

He used his medical skills to protect the health of everyone in this small world.

Ordinary yet extraordinary.

…

One self after another, one life after another.

They were similar, yet different.

Like the same seed, nurtured differently, they blossomed into flowers that were similar yet dissimilar.

Xu Qing watched quietly, a sense of understanding slowly appearing in his eyes.

“I was wrong before…”

“My constitution came from my understanding, and was also limited by my understanding.”

“I was once fixated on the path of cultivators in my understanding of the Ninth Extreme.”

“Therefore, the spaces and times I saw were all cultivators.”

“In fact, they were all versions of myself I imagined; that parallelism was pseudo-parallelism.”

“The true parallelism, the true coexistence of universes, is actually what I see before me after my spacetime is complete, and after using this turbulent current to dispel the fog…

the myriad aspects of life.”

“Each life within it has its unique flavor, its own joys and sorrows, its own independent trajectory…”

Xu Qing murmured.

This was his true Ninth Extreme, his coexistence of universes.

It was a grand tapestry woven from countless choices, countless possibilities, and countless opportunities.

“Unfortunately, I can no longer fully control it.”

Xu Qing closed his eyes and spoke softly.

“Seeing and doing are two separate things. In these countless parallel universes, I currently only possess the qualification to see. As for intervening, there’s not much I can do.”

“Unless I use the methods I used before, but that’s a minor path…like being blinded by a leaf.”

“Seeing is a manifestation of entering the laws of the Great Dao.”

Xu Qing seemed thoughtful.

“So, my tenth level is from seeing to doing?”

Xu Qing pondered.

He still had some doubts and hadn’t fully grasped the concept.

After a long while, Xu Qing opened his eyes.

“Doing seems to fall within the scope of the ninth level, at most a half-step into the tenth level, not a transcendence…”

Xu Qing shook his head; this was different from the tenth level he had expected.

So Xu Qing continued to gaze at the paintings, looking at the different versions of himself within them.

Time passed, he didn’t know how much.

Until, in his gaze, within one of the paintings, Xu Qing saw another version of himself. The version

of himself in that timeline was somewhat special.

He was a painter.

This painter created numerous works throughout his life, including delicate portraits of ladies, magnificent landscapes, and lifelike depictions of birds and beasts, earning him widespread renown.

In his later years, for reasons unknown, he personally burned all his works, leaving only a blank sheet of Xuan paper.

He gazed at the paper for a long time, then picked up his brush and drew a single stroke on the blank page.

The moment the brush paused, Xu Qing, outside of time and space, witnessed this scene and was deeply moved.

He murmured softly,

“Return to One…”

“This is Return to One!”

“The tenth extreme is Return to One!”

In an instant, Xu Qing’s eyes shone with unprecedented brilliance, and all the confusion in his mind vanished.

“So the question now is… how to achieve Return to One!”

Looking at the scrolls before him, seeing the countless versions of himself within them, Xu Qing already knew the answer to how to achieve Return to One.

“Let all versions of myself within the parallel universe generate the thought of unification.”

“Use this thought as a guide, like a thread, to connect all versions of myself within all parallel universes!” “

In this way, all thoughts of unification can be gathered, forming a unified consciousness across all parallel universes!”

“As for how to achieve this…”

Xu Qing narrowed his eyes. He knew that the biggest obstacle facing him was the incompleteness of the Ninth Extreme.

He could see the Ninth Extreme, but he couldn’t completely control it.

“I can only intervene in a small part.”

And intervening in only a small part made it too difficult to make all versions of themselves within all parallel universes comprehend the thought of unification.

On one hand, there were too many parallel universes; on the other hand, there were countless aspects of life, and the different selves generated countless distracting thoughts, making it impossible to unify their consciousness.

This required complete mastery of the power of parallel universes.

A glint flashed in Xu Qing’s eyes.

“Actually, there is another shortcut…”

“The God of Pain…”

Xu Qing suddenly raised his hand and abruptly took out the coffin containing the God of Pain, which he had suppressed, from his own immortal embryo, from the immortal palace within it.

The moment the coffin was placed before him, ripples spread across the surroundings. Xu Qing raised his right hand and pressed it down without hesitation.

As the coffin trembled, Xu Qing’s consciousness forcefully merged into it in an instant,

filling the body of the already exhausted deity within .

He took control of it to a certain extent.

After doing this, Xu Qing’s eyes gleamed with a strange light.

His plan was to use the divine power of this God of Pain to weave an illusion for all versions of himself across time and space.

Based on different lives, experiences, and obsessions, he would create different illusions.

Ultimately, he would allow all versions of himself across time and space to be immersed in their respective illusions, just like their original selves, unable to distinguish between reality and illusion.

What he needed was to leave a common exit for this illusion, for all versions of himself across time and space!

That exit was to gradually generate a unified obsession.

In this way, he could cleverly accomplish what he needed:

to allow all versions of himself across time and space to form a unified thought.

Illusions, by their very nature, remain only illusions, unable to affect reality, like a dream.

But this illusion… contains truth!
