Chapter 77 A Dead Person

. The Shenzang Sect emerged forty to fifty years ago, with traces found only within the Tianyuan Dynasty. Legend has it that a cultivator dreamed of the Venerable Shenzang and learned the secret of the Shenzang power from him. Upon waking, this cultivator founded the Shenzang Sect, becoming its leader, recruiting followers and spreading the secrets of obtaining the Shenzang power. The

Shenzang Sect believes that the human body contains hidden treasures, and if unearthed, achieving immortality is a simple matter. However, cultivators lack knowledge and experience, making it impossible to discover their own hidden treasures. Fortunately, the Venerable Shenzang passed down a method, stating that the laws of nature are unpredictable and leaving a glimmer of hope. The life of another person can unlock the Shenzang power, but this is a secret of heaven and cannot be easily passed on. Only those who believe in me are permitted to learn it, and taking human lives is contrary to the harmony of heaven. Each person is limited to killing a thousand people.

This is all the information the Tianji Tower knows about the Shenzang Sect. It mentions the Shenzang power, but not the power of merit.

Come to think of it, if they knew the Divine Treasure Power was the Power of Merit, they would have told Jiang Li about it even without him asking.

The Power of Merit was Heaven’s approval of a cultivator’s actions, which was tantamount to saying Heaven encouraged murder!

The implications were immense.

Both the Dao Sect and the Tianji Pavilion pointed to the Tianyuan Dynasty, so Jiang Li naturally wanted to visit. He doubted that the secret of the Supreme General mentioned by the Long Family Patriarch was actually the Divine Treasure Sect.

Jiang Li actually considered visiting Yu Yin to inquire about the situation, but considering she was currently preparing to reach the Tribulation Crossing Stage and it would be inconvenient to disturb her, he gave up.

At that moment, a grim atmosphere reigned in the Tianyuan Imperial City. Even cultivators who didn’t care about political affairs had heard that the Tianyuan Empress had failed in her attempt to reach the Tribulation Crossing Stage and suffered internal injuries. The palace physicians were helpless, and even the Dao Sect’s invited elders from the Alchemy Peak shook their heads, saying that internal injuries required rest and that anger and irritation were avoided.

The Tianyuan Empress followed the physician’s advice and rested in the Yangxin Palace, leaving government affairs to the ministers.

The former Tianyuan Imperial Family realized this was a golden opportunity. The Empress had been arrogant in not eliminating them, and now they were determined to make her regret her arrogance by dragging her down from the throne, stomping her down, and trampling on her!

They were working in all directions, connecting with various factions and court officials, determined to overthrow Yu Yin’s rule in one fell swoop!

Even General Che Wu, long stationed on the frontier, returned to the court, stating that the current war with the Great Zhou was only a small-scale one and not a threat.

However, everyone knew that the Empress had not ordered General Che Wu’s return; it was a decision made by the ministers!

Whether it was the Empress’s instruction or the ministers’ own arbitrary decision was unclear.

A cultivator in the Fusion Stage, who had killed countless people, could easily trigger an impending rebellion!

The Imperial City was once the most orderly of all the cities in the Tianyuan Empire. After all, the imperial leaders were always harmonious and friendly, and there was no quarreling. But now, the streets were filled with either the Ministry of Justice investigating a murder case, the Dali Temple apprehending the murderer, or both.

Their responsibilities were already becoming confused.

Jiang Li stood in front of General Che Wu’s residence, surrounded by the comings and goings of the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Court investigating a murder case.

The deceased’s name was Che Wu, a general. Preliminary estimates placed his death at an hour ago, a single blow that left his soul scattered. The killer remains unidentified, but it’s assumed to be someone Che Wu trusted.

An hour earlier, Jiang Li had encountered an elder from the Shenzang Sect.

The Ministry of Justice supported the former Tianyuan Imperial Family, while the Supreme Court supported the Tianyuan Empress. Each side suspected the other had sent someone to kill Che Wu, offering probing words but yielding no results.

Jiang Li entered Che Wu’s residence, silently observing his expression: fear, confusion, bewilderment, and so on. Like countless other deceased individuals Jiang Li had witnessed, Che Wu’s expression was full of emotion.

He couldn’t discern anything, but that didn’t matter. He knew a family of professionals who could help.

“Do you have time now?” Jiang Li arrived at the Great Zhou Palace and saw Ji Zhi reviewing memorials while swallowing Dao Zong’s brain-stimulating pills.

“Just pretend I didn’t ask.” Jiang Li met Ji Zhi’s gaze, and he vaguely understood why Ji Zhi was confined to the Spiritual Transformation Stage.

Too busy to cultivate.

“Do you know how much trouble issuing a temporary decree regarding spiritual treasures will cause?” The memorials before Ji Zhi were nothing more than the adverse effects of the decree’s implementation in several pilot cities. Ministers had compiled and written countermeasures, only to have Ji Zhi overturn them one by one, noting areas where the decree should be revised.

“Tell me, what do you want from me?”

“Good news! General Che Wu, who has been harassing your Great Zhou from the border, has died.”

Ji Zhi was stunned. “When did it happen?”

“So you came specifically to tell me this good news?” Ji Zhi didn’t believe Jiang Li was so kind.

“Yes, and by the way, I need your help in finding the murderer.”

“To maximize the effectiveness of the decree, I’ve used my double pupils several times recently. You can see it now, it nearly blinded me. The decree also has a lot of problems. If you’re not anxious, wait a dozen days until my eyes are healed, and I’ll help you investigate.”

“If you’re anxious, you can ask Ji Kongkong for help.”

Jiang Li thought of Ji Kongkong, the adorable little girl, Ji Zhi’s youngest daughter, the nineteenth princess of the Great Zhou.

“She’s only seven or eight, right? She’s at the first three levels of Qi training, and can even trace back time?”

Ji Zhi spoke of his youngest daughter with a proud look on his face. “You probably don’t know this, but my Kongkong wasn’t born in human form, but a small white fish, exactly like our ancestor in the records! She didn’t transform into a human until she was three years old. Her talent in the Way of Time is even higher than mine, almost rivaling our ancestor!”

If that were the case, then Ji Kongkong’s future would be bright.

Before Jiang Li went to find Ji Kongkong, Ji Zhi nervously warned, “You must protect my daughter. If she loses even a hair, we’ll be friends!”

Before Ji Zhi could change his mind, Jiang Li flew to the princess’s residence and found Ji Kongkong.

Ji Kongkong was floating in a pool, holding a book. Following the instructions, she transformed into a finger-long white fish, gaining insights into the laws of time.

“Hmm, it’s easier to comprehend the little white fish form… Uncle Jiang!” Ji Kongkong was struggling with which form to choose when she saw Jiang Li land with a smile.

Seeing the little princess about to transform back into human form, the maid quickly stepped forward, shielding her view with a cloth and dressing her. Jiang Li tactfully turned away.

After changing her clothes, Ji Kongkong transformed into the delicate and adorable little princess once again.

“Is this the book your Great Zhou royal family uses to learn the Way of Time?” Jiang Li, with Ji Kongkong’s permission, picked up the book she had just been reading, thinking that maybe he, too, could learn the Way of Time.

Then he saw Ji Zhi’s words on the first page: “Brother Jiang, stop reading. You won’t be able to learn it.

” Ji Kongkong reminded him, “Father wrote this in all books on the Way of Time.”
