Daozu shook his head. “The rules of life evolution clearly describe the levels. There’s no such realm as the Mahayana stage, let alone that he can create something out of nothing and generate his own spiritual energy. This doesn’t conform to the law of conservation of energy.”

“No matter what, there is no winner in this battle. Don’t think that just because you survived to the end, you can claim to be the winner.”

Daozu reminded the Confucian Sage, “At that time, we only knew the first method. Your and my insistence seemed wrong at the time. The Buddha was right.”

“Now that the Buddha has gone to the underworld, you’re only lucky to remain in the mortal realm.”

The Confucian Sage bowed in thanks.

The Taoist Patriarch didn’t dwell on the topic much. “But I never expected that Emperor Shun would tell you to preach the teachings of the heavens in order to research a second method.”

The Confucian Sage recalled his days of preaching the teachings of the heavens: “In fact, I was studying morality, believing that if everyone were honest and spoke the truth, morality could be achieved.”

“To this end, I chose a world and wrote the ‘True Words Post,’ which instructs the people of that world to answer any questions and tell the truth. I had originally planned to visit that world after a while, but I encountered civil unrest in the immortal realm.
