The Confucian Sage and the Buddha had been battling for nine thousand years, and his heart was tormented all the time. He knew that the Venerable Shenzang and the Buddha were right, but he still refused to admit defeat.

If he had known there was a second way, he and the Buddha would never have fought.

Emperor Shun shook his head and pointed at the Venerable Shenzang.

“If Daozu and you knew the second way, the Heavenly Dao would never let you two live. Your death and the annihilation of the Dao would be inevitable, and Daozu wouldn’t even have the chance to reincarnate.”

“Now I dare to tell you the second way because Jiang Li is here, so there is no need to worry about the Heavenly Dao attacking us.”
