Chapter 631 A Watch

“This is a longevity pill, allowing you to live another hundred years. As for how long you can actually live, it depends on your own luck.”

“The foundation-building method isn’t just about taking a pill, but teaching you the true foundation-building method could easily attract prying eyes.”

Bai Hongtu said as several spiritual herbs flew out of his storage ring, gathering in his palm, melting into juice, and solidifying into a pill.

“Foundation-building pills are nothing more than a combination of these few ingredients. Even without a recipe, you can refine them.”

“This is what’s called a foundation-building pill. Although I don’t particularly like it, it’s perfect for you.”

Uncle Chu raised his hands above his head, accepting the longevity and foundation-building pills. Bai Hongtu looked annoyed and pressed his hands down, admonishing, “Your personality is truly unsuitable for the Hualong Sect. This is your opportunity. Just stay here and be a free and unrestrained cultivator.”

Jiang Li and Yu Yin were also feeling annoyed.

It wasn’t directed at Uncle Chu, but seeing the refugees, seeing Feng Qiang, and seeing Uncle Chu, it made him think of how many similar things were happening in the Eight Wastelands.

Feng Qiang’s master looked down at his watch and said with a smile, “It’s getting late, and I don’t have much food to offer in my martial arts school. How about this, I’ll host a dinner for you three at Xibin Building as a token of my gratitude.”

“Is that… a watch you’re wearing?” Jiang Li noticed that the object on Master Feng Qiang’s hand was out of tune with the surroundings.

“You three also know this? This is a gift my younger brother gave me when he came home last time. It’s very magical, and it functions like a sundial, you can carry it, and it keeps very accurate. I tried to take it apart for research many times, but my younger brother stopped me because he was worried I wouldn’t be able to fix it.”

Master Feng Qiang took off the watch and said, “I see you three are interested, so I might as well give it to you.”

Jiang Li took the watch, studied it carefully, and came to a conclusion.

“A mechanical watch, manually charged. As long as the watch is not broken, it can be used forever.”

“Where did you get this thing?” Jiang Li asked Uncle Chu. There was a string of words on the back of the watch, not the words of Bahuang, indicating that the watch was definitely not created by Bahuang.

“I saw a servant being beaten and kicked by other servants in the Hualong Sect. I couldn’t bear it, so I rushed forward and shouted, saving the servant. To express his gratitude, he gave me this creation called a watch, which I took home and gave to my brother.”

“Did that servant ever tell me his origins?”

“He did. He said his name was Qiu Langsha, and he was a singer. Suddenly, one day, the earth shook and houses collapsed. He didn’t know what happened. He only heard on the news that the country deployed weapons called ‘planes,’ ‘tanks,’ ‘missiles,’ and ‘nuclear bombs.’ I think that’s what they were called. I didn’t quite understand what these weapons were used for.”

“Then he was confusedly transported to the Hualong Sect and became a servant.”

“At first, he couldn’t speak clearly, as if he had just learned to speak. Now it’s much better and he speaks very fluently.”

“When he first arrived, he was acting crazy. He said that although we couldn’t speak the same language, he believed that song could transcend language and that our hearts could connect. He sang a bunch of gibberish, saying it was a song praising peace, but it didn’t have any effect. Instead, the group of errand disciples complained about his noise and beat him up again.”

“Then he calmed down.”

Jiang Li and the other two remained silent. Finally, Jiang Li broke the silence: “Let’s go to the Hualong Sect.”

Master Feng Qiang wanted to say they would leave after dinner, but seeing the serious expressions of the three,

he trembled a little and finally didn’t say anything to persuade them to stay. “Uncle Chu, what is his cultivation level? Foundation Establishment Stage?”

Uncle Chu was silent for a long time. Thinking about their words and actions, the terrifying information revealed in their fragments, he said slowly and solemnly: “Perhaps they really are in the Tribulation Crossing Stage.”

Feng Qiang and his master were shocked: “What?! They are the Lords of the Desolate Land?”

Uncle Chu said nothing more.

These three seemed naive, but their every word and action revealed a magnanimous aura that was beyond ordinary.

Before he descended the mountain, he heard that both the Star Lord and the Territory Lord were selecting cultivators to represent their world in battle against another world. Perhaps these three were the masters of that other world.

Uncle Chu kept his speculation to himself, believing the fewer people who knew about it, the better.

“Perhaps this world can truly be changed?” Uncle Chu pondered, then quickly shook his head, dismissing it as impossible.

…

The Hualong Sect is located in the most spiritually rich region of the planet, nestled within a mountainous region. Within a hundred miles of the Hualong Sect’s territory, no mortals are allowed to tread.

When the three men found Qiu Langsha, he was in the fields.

Under the scorching sun, wearing a straw hat, he labored tirelessly with a hoe, intent on cultivating the land.

Uncle Chu had said that Qiu Langsha was responsible for cultivating spiritual grains to supply the Hualong Sect’s outer disciples.

“Qiu Langsha?”

Qiu Langsha looked up and saw the three men descending from the sky. Knowing they were extraordinary masters, he was horrified. He quickly forced a smile and stepped forward to greet them.

Able to fly, this person must be one of the legendary Inner Sect elders.

He had no idea what such a powerful figure was looking for him for, but based on experience, it wasn’t a good thing.

“What could you three adults do for me?”

“Don’t be nervous. We are the Chu…” Jiang Li was about to say that Uncle Chu introduced us, but as the words reached his lips, he realized he didn’t even know Uncle Chu’s name.

Jiang Li could only briefly describe Uncle Chu’s appearance.

Qiu Langsha suddenly realized, “You’re talking about Chu Le.”

But he couldn’t figure out how Chu Le knew such a powerful figure.

However, these three elders probably meant no harm, otherwise they wouldn’t be using Chu Le to build a closer relationship with him.

Qiu Langsha quickly invited the three into the thatched hut. He wanted to pour them some water, but found that he didn’t even have three cups.

Qiu Langsha smiled apologetically, “It’s a bit simple, please forgive me.”

He took off his hat, revealing his brown hair, which was slightly curly.

“You’re in charge of growing spiritual grain, so you should have access to it, especially the four spiritual roots. How come you’re only at the second level of Qi training?” Bai Hongtu was puzzled.

After hearing this, Qiu Langsha was so frightened that he kowtowed and begged for mercy.

“Three elders, please understand. I only ate ordinary grains. I really didn’t steal any spiritual grain. I sent all that to my outer sect brothers!” This

wasn’t the answer to the question, but all three understood Qiu Langsha’s meaning.

Jiang Li also saw that Qiu Langsha’s cultivation method was severely flawed, making it difficult to practice. Add to that the daily farming, and you had no time for practice, so it’s not surprising that he was only at the second level of Qi training.

Jiang Li didn’t dwell on the matter too much, asking, “We heard from Chu Le that you’re from another planet. Can you tell us what happened?”

At this point, Qiu Langsha’s smile faded, and his arms drooped.

Clearly, this topic wasn’t a very friendly one for him.

But since it was the three inner sect elders asking, he could only suppress his sadness and reminisce: “That was ten years ago. Ten years ago, I was a hugely popular singer…”
