Chapter 593 Energy Body Life

After wandering around the lab for a while, Jiang Li noticed that only a small portion of the mined star cores were being used for scientific experiments.

“I saw the Meteorite Group mine several tons of star cores when the star exploded. What were they using them for? To process them into products?”

Kong Yi shook his head. “I heard the three Overlords needed the star cores for their experiments, and most of them were transported to the Three Mother Stars.”

“What experiments are the Overlords conducting?”

“That’s unknown. The Overlords’ research is much deeper than ours. The purpose of star cores is beyond our comprehension. Perhaps they’re studying how to deal with the Great Demon, or perhaps they’re studying something else, like time.”

“Time? Can you be more specific?” Jiang Li was surprised.

“I just heard my father mention something about the Overlords studying a river of time. They also said that each world corresponds to a river, and that the location of the river of time is another world.”

Kong Yi scratched his head and smiled sheepishly. “This stuff involves very profound knowledge, and only the Overlords can understand and study it.”

But he quickly found the reason for his incomprehension: “After all, the three Overlords are the longest-lived beings, and they’re at an unfathomable realm above the Fusion Stage. It’s normal for me to be baffled by what they’re studying.”

The three of them exchanged glances, convinced that this world was indeed extraordinary.

“Maybe the Overlords know more about the Way of Time than you do,” Bai Hongtu chuckled.

“You’re saying you know the Way of Time.” Jiang Li ignored Bai Hongtu’s childish provocation.

“Why not? You’ll kick me right as soon as I see you.” Bai Hongtu claimed he could see what was happening a few seconds into the future.

“As you wish.”

Bai Hongtu received a ruthless kick from Jiang Li.

Jiang Li acknowledged Bai Hongtu’s knowledge of the Way of Time.

Yu Yin held her forehead in her hand, feeling that the two men’s combined mental ages were no more than ten years old.

“Stop it.”

“Oh,”

the two men replied obediently, continuing their duties and cleaning.

Finally, led by Kong Yi, the three of them evaded numerous obstacles and reached the top floor’s secret room.

“According to intelligence, the computers here hold many secrets.”

Kong Yi’s eyes shone green, scanning the computer. Ten fingers extended, and countless antennas extended, plugging into the computer’s holes and hacking into the internal network.

Jiang Li had already seen that Kong Yi’s entire body had been modified, powered by nuclear energy, yet still maintaining a human form. According to this world’s hierarchy, he was at the Nascent Soul stage of nuclear power.

“My hacking skills are in the top ten on the entire Ninth Mother Planet,” Kong Yi boasted. “

Top ten” meant somewhere between the top six and ten.

Kong Yi quickly cracked the extremely complex secret, opened the computer, and searched for information on star weapons.

But to no avail.

Suddenly, the computer blue screened, and Kong Yi tried everything but failed.

“Kong Yi, stop investigating,” a voice boomed from behind the four of them, the computer he was controlling.

If Kong Yi’s hacking skills were tenth in the world, then he was number one.

“Three, we finally meet. Let me introduce myself. I’m the president of Meteorite Group.” The newcomer was polite, treating Jiang Li and the other two as equals.

“Uncle.” Kong Yi felt a little disheartened after being captured by the Meteorite President.

Uncle Meteorite was a powerful being at the Fusion Stage, possessing the four fundamental forces unified. There was no

way he could escape. Kong Yi thought he’d been lucky, having reached the Meteorite Group’s most secretive location unnoticed.

Little did he know, this was simply with the Meteorite President’s tacit approval.

“Excuse me for letting you fool around with your child. Kong Yi’s father is a council member and a close friend of mine.” The Meteorite President smiled apologetically.

“I’ve been trying to persuade Kong Yi not to investigate this matter, but he’s always disobeyed his elders.”

“In desperation, I deliberately had him come to our group to investigate, and that’s what made him give up on that idea.”

The Meteorite President wasn’t so much a person as a humanoid azure energy.

Within this azure energy were numerous small bubbles, its internal form constantly shifting to maintain optimal condition.

“Energy body?” Jiang Li scanned the body with his spiritual sense and discovered that the Meteorite President’s body didn’t represent any known energy source; it was likely a technological artifact of this world.

“Energy bodies are common, but your physical forms are rare.”

Seeing Jiang Li and the other two through surveillance, the Meteorite President assumed they were disguised as energy bodies. But upon seeing them in person, he realized he was completely mistaken. They were truly carbon-based beings.

“I wonder where in the universe you three are from, and which Lord promoted you. Perhaps we share the same Lord,” the Meteorite President tried to get close to Jiang Li and the other two.

“Is it the Lord of Entropy Increase, the Lord of Entropy Decrease, or the Lord of Entropy Leveling?”

In this world, anyone seeking to advance to the Fusion Stage requires the assistance of the three Lords, and the Meteorite President assumed this was no exception.

“Do you believe me when I say we’re from another world?”

“Hahaha, Mr. Jiang Li, you’re such a joke. Only great demons come from other worlds, not beings as rational as you.”

Seeing the three unwilling to discuss their origins, the Meteorite President didn’t pursue the matter further and turned his attention to Kong Yi.

“Kong Yi, I’ve already told you I don’t have any information about star weapons. Why don’t you believe me?” The Meteorite President shook his head slightly. This kid hadn’t been this naughty before.

“But if this planet really has been transformed into a weapon…”

“Shut up! Don’t say that!” The Meteorite President’s gentle tone shifted to a stern rebuke, his body rippled with emotion.

His expression didn’t reveal much—energy beings don’t show their expressions on their faces, after all—but it was clear he was extremely nervous.

Jiang Li understood instantly. There was only one possibility that could have made the Meteorite CEO so nervous.

The Star Weapon was related to the Three Overlords, or closely related. Perhaps they were the work of the Three Overlords.

The Meteorite CEO, lacking vocal cords, spoke using electromagnetic force: “When we advanced to the Fusion Stage, the Three Overlords warned us not to tell anyone about the Star Weapon. You’re quite courageous, daring to play along with your children, unafraid of the Overlords’ repercussions.”

Jiang Li, amused, imitated the Meteorite CEO, also replying using electromagnetic force: “It’s okay. The Overlords know everything. Since they haven’t stopped us, it means we have the Three Overlords’ tacit approval.”

The Meteorite CEO truly admired the courage of these three.

Observers value and pursue rationality, but he saw nothing but courage in these three.

“But why do you think the planet was transformed into a weapon?” the Meteorite CEO wondered. This was something even Kong Yi’s father didn’t know. He was the only one on the Ninth Mother Star who knew this secret. How could Kong Yi possibly know?

“It was someone called Du Ye Shangshi who told me. He said that all the mother planets have been transformed into weapons.”

“What?”

This time it was Jiang Li and the other two who were surprised.
