Chapter 469: Each Shows Miracles

As a qualified god, Jiang Li must always maintain a calm mind.

“Child, why do you want to learn time magic?” Jiang Li asked kindly, then glanced at Ruyi Gourd from the corner of his eye.

Ruyi Gourd shuddered.

Those tricked into coming here by Ruyi Gourd were all beautiful girls with beast ears. Half a day had passed, and Jiang Li had yet to see a single male orc.

This time was no exception. Her black cat ears trembled slightly, her tail curled, clearly nervous.

“I want to cure my mother’s illness, but the church priest said she’s too ill, even a legendary priest can’t save her. Only magic like time reversal can heal her.”

The black cat girl began to cry, causing Ruyi Gourd heartache.

Jiang Li used his spiritual sense to analyze the black cat girl’s bloodline and found his mother lying in bed. She

was indeed seriously ill, likely injured by a demon while adventuring in a dungeon in her youth. Now her organs were failing, and a strange toxin was eroding her body.

Jiang Li plucked a emerald green leaf, gently scooped up a few drops of water, and tossed it casually. The leaf landed in the girl’s hand. The river water, like jelly, shimmered and shimmered on the leaf, refusing to spill.

“Child, time magic isn’t omnipotent. It can’t save your mother. When you return, have her take these drops of water, and she’ll regain her health.”

“Thank you, Lord River God!” The black cat girl burst into tears of joy, her tail raised high. She thanked Jiang Li and then sped off home.

After two steps, she slowed down, fearing the water might fall through the leaf.

She observed the water carefully, realizing it possessed some magical power that prevented it from spilling, and continued her sprint home.

Along the way, the black cat girl encountered numerous obstacles: an orc would suddenly appear from the side of the road, threatening to knock her over, a flowerpot would fall from the sky, and it seemed as if ten years of bad luck had all culminated in that single day.

Perhaps it was the River God’s blessing that prevented the beastman from escaping from her path. The same thing happened with the flowerpot. As soon as she took a step, another one landed behind her. Had she moved even half a second later, it would have hit her.

“Oh, the Church,” Jiang Li laughed emotionlessly.

This wasn’t a natural disaster, but a man-made one. If word got out that someone the Church couldn’t heal had been cured by the River God, how could the Church be so shameless?

Unaware of her true situation and afraid to attack her directly, the Church targeted the Black Cat Girl.

The Church used various covert tactics, all easily thwarted by Jiang Li.

The Black Cat Girl returned home safely.

She called out to her mother twice, only to discover she was terminally ill, unable to even open her eyes.

If she were delayed any longer, she feared she wouldn’t be able to see her mother one last time.

Remembering the leaf in her hand, she pried open her mother’s mouth.

Strangely enough, the river water, which had been unable to escape all along the way, now flowed down the leaf and into her mother’s mouth.

Time ticked by, the black cat girl anxiously pacing the room. Finally, her mother slowly opened her eyes.

“I’m… still alive?” her mother asked, bewildered.

She had always suffered from heart pain, an injury sustained while adventuring in the dungeon. She had never been able to afford treatment, and she thought she could just persevere.

Unfortunately, injuries weren’t so easy to heal. In recent years, her condition had worsened, and the cost of a priest’s treatment had skyrocketed, forcing her to give up.

For the past few days, the pain had been raging, like a burning fire, and she felt no peace. Seeing her daughter’s concerned eyes, she always pretended nothing was wrong.

In reality, she was in so much pain that she couldn’t speak.

If she hadn’t been unable to leave her bed, she would have wanted to go into the dungeon and die once and for all, leaving her daughter to beg for help.

When she awoke, the burning sensation had subsided, and the long-lost refreshing feeling brought an indescribable comfort, as if nectar had bathed her whole body.

The black cat girl burst into tears of joy, tearfully telling her mother about the recent rise of the River God and how the God had saved her mother with a few drops of water.

After this incident, the black cat girl and her mother finally understood that the River God was more trustworthy than the evil-hearted church.

The two cats, mother and daughter, began spreading the word about the River God’s greatness, and his name spread throughout their small area.

Similar incidents were occurring throughout the Beast Kingdom.

…

Not far from a certain underground city, Li Er was watering a tree.

“Brother Bear, what are you doing?” Several Deer Tribe girls, returning triumphantly from the underground city, were curious to see Li Er watering the trees.

Li Er, with his burly build and lush fur, certainly resembled a bear.

Li Er wasn’t upset that he’d identified as a bear. After all, when he was in the Bai Ze Dynasty, he’d used the identity of the Cracked Claw Bear.

The Cracked Claw Bears, far from refusing, were overjoyed.

Using a demon identity was much easier to attract demons than using a human identity.

“Water it.” Li Er used river water to water a sapling.

“Is there anything magical about this tree?”

“I found this sapling by chance. I asked Level 5 magician Lance to use the ‘Identify’ skill to identify it. This sapling is the very first sapling and can be called the World Tree.”

Several Deer Clan girls looked at it from left to right, but they couldn’t connect the sapling with the first tree in the universe. They felt that the bear brother had been deceived.

Everyone knows that in the Beast Kingdom, besides the roe deer clan, the bear clan is the easiest to deceive.

“Unfortunately, this sapling was born too early. When it was born, the surrounding area was in chaos. The chaos suppressed its growth, causing it to remain this small.”

“The World Tree is so noble that its growth conditions are extraordinary. It needs to be watered with the sacred water bestowed by the Chaos River God in order for it to sprout again.”

Li Er scooped up a bucket of water and said, “This is the sacred water bestowed by the River God. Would you like to try it?”

The poison resistance of several Deer Clan girls was maxed out, so they were not worried about the poison. Driven by curiosity, they all tasted it and found it extremely sweet.

The Deer Clan girls wanted to drink two more sips, but were stopped by Li Er.

“The holy water is precious, and there is only so much. I need to keep it to water the World Tree.”

Several Deer Clan girls thought Li Er’s words and deeds were quite humorous, and every time they came back from the dungeon, they would talk to Li Er.

Other adventurers also saw Li Er’s actions.

For a time, the news that there were strange people watering trees near the dungeon spread in the neighborhood, and everyone treated it as a joke.

Until that day, the number of demons in the dungeon was too large, and they swarmed towards the nearest city.

This was the black tide that made the three tribes shudder.

Li Er was still following Jiang Li’s instructions, slowly watering the seedlings of the World Tree.
