Chapter 444 Let’s have a simple one first

. Ji Zhi looked at his elated daughter with an indescribable feeling.

“My daughter, why don’t you become the Emperor of Zhou? Why would you want to be the Human Emperor? How interesting is that?”

Ji Zhi fretted. The daughter he had carefully nurtured was the Emperor of Zhou, but why didn’t she want to be? And Jiang Li had even taken advantage of her.

Ji Zhi believed her daughter was the strongest and would definitely become the Human Emperor.

Ji Kongkong was the first to know she was a candidate for the Human Emperor title. When she used her double pupils to see the future, she learned that she would become a candidate in a few hours.

She was already excited for hours in advance.

“Of course it’s interesting! I want to be as great as Uncle Jiang,”

Ji Kongkong said without hesitation. Ji Zhi said angrily, “Can you learn something good? Besides his profound cultivation, his compassion for the world, his integrity, and his generosity, what other qualities does your Uncle Jiang have?”

Ji Kongkong thought for a moment, and it seemed that these were the only qualities Uncle Jiang

possessed. Ji Zhi felt the need to tell Ji Kongkong about Jiang Li’s misdeeds during his school days.

The more Ji Kongkong listened, the more he felt Jiang Li’s thinking was different from that of ordinary people. “So that’s how it is. Only by thinking beyond the ordinary can one reach realms unattainable by ordinary people.”

Ji Zhi was helpless. Was that what he meant?

…

“Xiaofeng, you’ve become a candidate for Human Emperor?” Senior Sister Wu Lian knew the significance of being a candidate for Human Emperor, and it also meant that Yu Feng was truly exceptional.

“Yes,” Yu Feng smiled.

“But this is just the beginning. My advantages are minimal. It’s too early to celebrate now.” Yu Feng held Senior Sister Wu Lian in his arms, planning for the future, calculating his weaknesses and how to overcome them. For those he couldn’t overcome, he would learn to leverage his strengths and avoid his weaknesses.

Senior Sister Wu Lian felt sweet, feeling that Yu Feng was truly reliable.

“Speaking of which, it’s been three hours since you became a candidate for Human Emperor, hasn’t it?” Senior Sister Wu Lian seemed to recall something.

“Three hours and a quarter.”

“You haven’t been in danger in all that time?” Senior Sister Wu Lian was overjoyed.

Before meeting Jiang Li, Yu Feng had died tens of thousands of times; his luck was utterly terrible.

Yu Feng’s luck improved only slightly after arriving in Jiuzhou, from a near-death crisis to a near-death, near-injury one.

Fortunately, Yu Feng wasn’t the same Yu Feng he’d been before. He’d learned a great deal from his time with Jiang Li, and now he was cautious and well-equipped to handle disasters.

While he could handle them, he had to be cautious and vigilant, which was a real test of his mental strength.

Seven or eight disasters a day was too much to handle without caution.

Unexpectedly, after becoming a candidate for the Human Emperor, the disasters disappeared.

Yu Feng analyzed, “Mr. Jiang said that candidates for the Human Emperor are chosen by the earth’s veins, which control their luck and allow them to thrive.”

“Perhaps the earth’s veins adjusted my luck, eliminating my bad luck.”

“That’s the reason,” Jiang Li’s voice echoed in his ears.

…

“Master, I can’t believe we’re both candidates for the Human Emperor.” Qin Luan’s smile never faded after learning he’d been chosen.

The little white fox was delighted, licking its paws, feeling that Qin Luan was worthy of her choice, possessing the qualities of a Human Emperor.

“It’s just a small situation. Stay calm. These are all small situations. When your master was with the Human Emperor, we saw all sorts of situations.” Yuan Wuxing said this, his smile no less than Qin Luan’s.

Song Ying worriedly said, “I saw in the Tianji newspaper that there’s a True Dragon from another world among the candidates for the Human Emperor. He’s a powerful cultivator at the Fusion Stage. If someone like that competes with you for the Human Emperor position, you…”

Song Ying didn’t finish her words, but everyone understood her meaning.

Yuan Wuxing, knowledgeable and experienced, felt that Song Ying’s concerns were unnecessary. “Don’t worry about it. The candidates for the Human Emperor compete on wisdom. As for talent, everyone is pretty close, making it difficult to tell who’s better.”

“While there will be battles among the candidates for the Human Emperor, it won’t happen now. It’ll happen at the end, when everyone reaches the Fusion Stage.”

“I heard that five hundred years ago, the three strongest candidates for the Human Emperor—Jiang Li, Bai Hongtu, and Yu Yin—were chosen that way.”

“What if someone breaks through the Tribulation Stage first and becomes the Human Emperor directly?”

“Uh…”

This question stumped Yuan Wuxing.

Jiang Li’s voice echoed in everyone’s minds: “If anyone breaks through the Tribulation Crossing Stage, they must defeat Yu Yin or Bai Hongtu. If they can defeat either of them, I will make them the Human Emperor.”

Yu Yin, blessed by the nation’s fortune, was able to reach the peak of the Tribulation Crossing Stage, and Bai Hongtu had even survived the Immortal Tribulation. Not only could they not become Human Emperor candidates, but even Human Emperors from previous generations wouldn’t necessarily be able to defeat them.

Yuan Wuxing suddenly felt that this Human Emperor selection might be the second most difficult in history.

The most difficult was the previous one.

“Mr. Jiang?” Everyone searched for Jiang Li, thinking the man drinking tea on the roadside looked particularly like him.

Jiang Li was speechless: “Don’t look for him anymore. I’m still in the Human Emperor Palace. I’m speaking to you through the Human Emperor Candidate Mark.”

“Alright, enough. I’m speaking to all the Human Emperor Candidates now.”

…

Similar conversations occurred with each Human Emperor Candidate.

Just as the Human Emperor Candidates were immersed in the joy of being chosen by the earth veins, they suddenly entered an unknown dimension.

In this unknown dimension, Jiang Li, with his hands behind his back, looked at them with a smile.

“This is a consciousness space I constructed. It’s a privilege of the Human Emperor to bring in candidates for the Human Emperor.”

“First of all, congratulations to everyone. Becoming a candidate for the Human Emperor is quite interesting. I believe you’ve all come into contact with me before. I have a connection with all of you, and it’s quite deep.”

Jiang Li scanned the familiar faces one by one, some of whom he had just met at the Jiuzhou Council.

The only person Jiang Li was less familiar with was probably Yu Youxian.

However, the two of them were quite close, after all, they were both Dao Sect members.

“When it comes to the Human Emperor position, I won’t be partial or corrupt. Don’t try to get close to me by hoping for luck.”

“Let’s start with a simple Human Emperor candidate competition to get everyone acquainted.”

After a dizzying spin, everyone regained consciousness and found themselves at the edge of a vast lake, surrounded by cultivators quietly fishing.

A pile of refining materials appeared out of thin air before them.

Jiang Li’s voice echoed again.

“This lake is the second largest in Jiuzhou, teeming with fish and shrimp. The first test is simple: use these ingredients to craft fishing gear. Whoever catches the most fish with the gear will be the winner.”

By the time they reach the Nascent Soul stage, everyone has mastered some refining techniques.

“Also, you are not allowed to use your cultivation or bloodline advantages to directly fish,”

Jiang Li said to Xiaoqing and Ji Kongkong.

Jiang Li turned to his two friends and said, “You two have seen this. I randomly picked a question from the questions given by Commander Liu.”

“Is there any need to see this? I believe you. Come, let the competition begin.” Bai Hongtu licked his lips, rolled up his sleeves and walked to a nearby distance. Yu Yin remained silent and walked in the opposite direction of Bai Hongtu.
