Chapter 388 The Leader’s Troubles

“What’s going on? Did something go wrong with the Bihai City plan?” the leader asked calmly, seemingly unconcerned about the Bihai City plan.

He truly didn’t care. Bihai City was just a casual move. If successful, he would seize the Bihai branch. If unsuccessful, he would receive a large death compensation.

This was a sure-win deal.

Church members fought for the gods, died for them, a testament to their devotion.

Given this, they surely hoped to contribute this death compensation to the church and the gods.

“We have won over a group of people, mixed in some spies, and airdropped support. Everything is going according to plan. Theoretically, we can occupy the Bihai Branch.”

The leader chuckled with a hint of coldness: “Theory? Theoretically, ice powers can freeze time, powers that become stronger when beaten can become infinitely stronger, and illusion powers can allow all mankind to enter an illusion. If the theory is reliable, what is the point of practice?”

“If you like to talk about theory, I can arrange for you to teach at a university.”

“No, no, no, that’s not what I meant.” The high-level members of the Supernatural Power Cult quickly said that they had made a slip of the tongue.

“Just say what you have to say. I don’t like to hear your explanations, and don’t give me empty talk.”

“For us, the Ability Cult, to succeed, we need practical effort, not verbal skills.”

“Reflect on your mistakes, correct them. Do you understand?”

This principle didn’t need to be explained by the leader. The Ability Cult’s leaders certainly understood it, but since the leader had said it, he could only agree, “I understand.”

“Tell me, what happened inside the Bi Hai branch?”

“Yes, two or three new recruits took action and took care of everyone.”

The leader turned, his eyes bright, rubbing his ring. “Tell me.”

“Everyone who infiltrated the Bi Hai branch was caught. We can’t get direct information from them, but fortunately, we hacked into the Bi Hai branch’s cameras and saw this.”

The Ability Cult’s leaders asked the leader to move to the screening room.

There, the leader watched Jiang Li and Bai Hongtu display their prowess. Their bodies transformed into millions, their sword energy raining down, effortlessly resolving the situation.

And they didn’t kill anyone; they were all captured alive by the Bi Hai branch.

“Interesting.”

“I think these two may possess some as-yet-unknown superpower. As long as we understand their powers, they won’t pose a threat.”

“And there’s the third person, Peng Lianghai. He’s one of the new trio, and the other two are so powerful, so he can’t be just an ordinary enhancement-type superpower.”

“I suspect Peng Lianghai, though he hasn’t made a move, may be the most powerful of the three.”

The leader glanced at the Superpower Cult’s leaders and whispered two words.

“Foolish.”

“Please clarify, Master.”

“These two are indeed powerful, but not in the way you understand them. They may be from another world.”

The Superpower Cult leader was surprised.

“With your brain, you naturally can’t understand it. Don’t force yourself to understand something you can’t.”

“But you do have your smarts. This Peng Lianghai is indeed suspicious.”

The Superpower Cult leader stared at the leader in amazement, noticing that he was actually excited.

He had been a member of the Cult for forty years and had never seen the leader look like this.

“No, I have too little information on them. I’m not sure I can win. I need to prepare.”

The leader always trusted his intuition. It told him that if he could gain the power of these three, he would become unprecedentedly powerful, perhaps even eliminating the need for the “Superpower Completion Plan.”

He believed that each superpower represented the beginning of a world, and if they could be combined, they might even create the world.

At that point, he would be the sole king of this world, and no one would dare oppose him.

This was well-founded. Now possessing tens of thousands of superpowers, he was on the verge of creating a world.

“It’s almost there. I just need a few rare powers.”

The leader had been waiting for superpowers that had appeared in history but had yet to materialize.

As a user of all-attribute superpowers, he also had the anxieties of keeping secrets.

“What the hell are these powers that make me completely unattractive to women and men? Why did I absorb them in the first place?”

The leader was helpless. To fulfill his grand plan of creating the world, he endured humiliation and absorbed these two powers, leaving him alone forever. He

nearly developed autism.

He fell in love with a female believer, but due to his ability to completely eliminate women, she dumped him and threatened to leave the church.

“And that damned power of ‘Words and Words’? Activating ‘Words and Words’ will always trigger ‘Shut Up’.”

Because of this, the leader couldn’t use Words and Words.

He then spent days diligently learning ventriloquism to bypass the “Shut Up” ability, but who would have thought that “Shut Up” could even shut down ventriloquism?

Only then did the leader completely abandon Words and Words.

“And then there’s the healing power and ‘Strength After Hair Loss.'”

Most people who awaken the “Strength After Hair Loss” power would simply lose their hair and never grow back.

But the leader was different; he also had a healing power.

His healing power was so powerful that it could automatically heal wounds, insisting that hair loss was also considered an injury.

This caused the hair on the top of his head to suddenly grow and then disappear, grow and then disappear, faster than leeks.

The leader had no choice but to hide his head with his hood.

But this had its benefits.

He possessed the ability to “become stronger with injury.” His hair kept falling out, which was considered an injury, allowing him to grow stronger.

While the increase wasn’t significant, it was still effective, giving him some comfort.

Driven by curiosity, the cult leader once watched the horror film “The Haunted House,” leaving him unable to sleep. He possessed a photographic

memory. Fortunately, he also possessed the ability to erase memories.

The leader erased his memories of the horror film.

The memory was completely erased, and the leader had forgotten he had even seen “The Haunted House.” Driven by curiosity, he watched it again.

He erased his memory again.

This repeated itself for several days, until the leader finally realized something was amiss. He recorded his actions on video, and the truth finally came to light.

“I have contributed so much to the great project of creation,” the leader muttered to himself, even admiring himself.

He approached the statue of the Three-Eyed God and, without the slightest respect, said, “You’d better bless me with success. If so, I will spread you to the world when I become ruler. If not, I will smash you to pieces.”

When the members of the cult learned of the Three-Eyed God statue, they were surprised that a deity so perfectly suited their needs existed. But in reality, the leader had precisely calculated the minds of the cultists and fabricated the Three-Eyed God.

He organized the Supernatural Cult not to expand his power, but to bring together people with supernatural powers.
