Only at the Mahayana Stage Does the Reversal System Appear - Chapter 369
Chapter 369: Things Filling the Wooden House
Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva, holding a bodhi leaf, gently waved forward, and everyone found themselves shifting positions, each in a separate, smaller space.
Tens of thousands of cultivators had entered the secret realm, and Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva had created tens of thousands of smaller spaces, moving the cultivators within.
“One flower, one world; one leaf, one bodhi.” Jiang Li recognized Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva’s method. Buddhism excelled in the art of space, and within the Secret Realm of All Living Beings, Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva brought this strength to full fruition.
In the outside world, Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva couldn’t achieve such an exaggerated degree.
“I’m afraid this is a secret realm opened up by a celestial Buddha,” Jiang Li muttered to himself. The blessings
bestowed upon Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva by the Secret Realm of All Living Beings were excessive, not something an ordinary secret realm could achieve.
Everyone found themselves in front of a small wooden house, empty of anything. Near the house, a bustling traffic flowed, with woodcutters, merchants, and travelers passing through. A dazzling array of goods circulated, but they were all mundane, devoid of any spiritual energy.
“Now begins the first stage. As you can see, this cabin is empty. You have one tael of silver. Please fill it up. The test will end in two hours. The use of mana is prohibited during this test. I have sealed your cultivation.”
The cultivators found themselves unable to mobilize any of their cultivation, becoming no different from ordinary mortals. Their spiritual energy remained dormant within them, refusing to be mobilized.
Jiang Li and Bai Hongtu both felt a mysterious restraint. They secretly tried to mobilize their mana, but found that the secret realm had no effect on their constraints. Bai Hongtu was still in the Tribulation Crossing Stage, and Jiang Li was still in the Mahayana Stage.
However, both were law-abiding people and had no intention of using their mana.
They had stood out among the candidates for the Human Emperor not only through their cultivation but, more importantly, their wisdom.
This test was no challenge for them.
Jiang Li entered the cabin, pondered for a moment, then turned and bought a string of candied haws with one tael of silver.
…
Two hours passed quickly, and everyone returned to the Secret Realm of All Beings, carrying their cabins.
“What will you fill the cabin with?” Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva asked Qin Luan with a smile.
Qin Luan opened the cabin, revealing firewood piled inside.
Someone chuckled softly. Qin Luan’s answer was too ordinary. How could such an answer possibly connect with the secret realm inheritance?
Many of them remained motionless after the test began, simply sitting cross-legged in front of the cabin, a smile on their lips, an air of profound mystery.
This would attract the attention of many inheritances.
Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva smiled. Qin Luan’s answer was ordinary, nothing remarkable, but this was the norm for all living beings.
“Good.”
Fragrant Elephant Bodhisattva approached the second monk. “What did you fill the cabin with?”
The monk, appearing to have profound Buddhist knowledge, clasped his hands together in greeting. “Bodhisattva, I didn’t fill the cabin with anything.”
“Oh, why is that?”
the monk said with an enigmatic smile. “Air is everywhere, yet it’s often overlooked.”
The monk opened the cabin, looking as if everything was under control. “Bodhisattva, please look! The cabin is filled with air.”
“Please go inside before you draw any conclusions.” The monk confidently stepped into the cabin, his expression changing dramatically. The cabin was a vacuum; there was no air, no spiritual energy, nothing! Even with the wooden door open, the cabin repelled the air, preventing it from entering.
The monk’s face paled. He had been so preoccupied with pretending to be a master that he hadn’t even entered the cabin. But he quickly regained his composure. It didn’t matter. The Secret Realm of All Beings didn’t screen people. All he needed to do was perform well in the next level. A copy of the Diamond Sutra suddenly appeared in the monk’s hand. ”What does this mean?” the monk was puzzled. The Bodhisattva of Incense Elephant, still smiling, said, “This is the secret realm’s reward for you.” A cultivator entering the secret realm of all living beings for the second time chimed in, “So, this is a consolation prize. The next two levels will focus on participation.” Many cultivators’ faces changed drastically upon seeing this. They abandoned their pretense of mastery, and some even secretly hid the candles they had bought. Those cultivators who had bought candles felt remorseful. They had originally planned to leisurely walk into the cabin, light the candles, chant a Buddhist verse, and smile, saying that the cabin was now filled with light. They had even planned the movements and the dialogue! The Bodhisattva of Incense Elephant shook her head slightly upon seeing this. These wicked cultivators were simply pretending to be masters, acting cleverly, and mocking Qin Luan’s mediocrity, never considering how such actions could possibly be appreciated by the inheritance. So many cultivators were pretending to be masters that even Qin Luan’s answer to the question of filling the cabin with firewood seemed rare. ”What did you fill the cabin with?” the Bodhisattva of Incense Elephant asked Yuan Wuxing. Yuan Wuxing had stacked many candles outside the door, then lit them, shining them into the cabin. Although the light was dim, it was indeed entering. ”Good.” Xiangxiang Bodhisattva thought Yuan Wuxing’s idea, while not entirely perfect, was nonetheless commendable. Approaching Bai Hongtu and discovering his empty hands, Xiangxiang Bodhisattva assumed he was one of those pretentious individuals. ”What did you fill the cabin with?” ”The entire secret realm of sentient beings.” ”Hmm?” This answer surprised Xiangxiang Bodhisattva. ”Excuse me, Bodhisattva, where is the inside of the cabin?” Xiangxiang Bodhisattva opened the door and entered. “Of course it’s here.” Bai Hongtu shook his head and followed suit. “Bodhisattva, you’re obsessed with appearances. No one has ever defined what is inside and what is outside. If that’s the case, why not consider this the outside?” Bai Hongtu walked out. “This is inside.” Xiangxiang Bodhisattva suddenly realized, “Another way. You are a person of great wisdom.” Jiang Li curled his lips. If the Bai guy was really good at deceiving people , couldn’t he learn to be as sincere as him?
Xiang Xiang Bodhisattva walked over to Jiang Li and found that he also had nothing in his hands.
“What did you fill the wooden house with?”
Jiang Li opened the wooden door and invited Xiang Xiang Bodhisattva in. After Xiang Xiang Bodhisattva entered, he found that there was nothing in the wooden house.
“What’s in the wooden house?”
Jiang Li was surprised: “Didn’t Bodhisattva see it? There are so many things in the wooden house. If Bodhisattva can’t see it, you might as well open your spiritual sense and take a look.”
Xiang Xiang Bodhisattva opened his spiritual sense and found that there was really nothing in the wooden house.
“Indeed, there is nothing.”
“How can there be nothing? Bodhisattva, take a closer look.”
Seeing Jiang Li’s confident face saying that there was something in the wooden house, Xiang Xiang Bodhisattva couldn’t help but feel suspicious. Did she miss something?
But she exhausted all kinds of means and searched for a long time, but still found nothing.
“Donor, what exactly is in your wooden house?”
“Lie.”
“…”
Xiang Xiang Bodhisattva almost broke his vow and cursed.
Bai Hongtu spread his hands. He had said long ago that half of the bad ideas during the Human Emperor candidate test were from Jiang Li, and no one believed it.
